Mittal Patel meets Pravinabaa and her son Jaydip 

We saw boards reading “Rangilu Rajkot” (Colorful Rajkot) displayed in manyplaces across the city. Reading them engulfs our hearts with joy.

In this colorful Rajkot, our volunteer Kanubhai took us to the home of Pravinabaa. The house was neat and clean, but there lingered an air of heaviness within. Pravinabaa lives there with her son, Jaydeep.

Jaydeep is differently abled. Pravinabaa is his stepmother, but she loves him immensely. She said, “When I first came into this home after marriage, Jaydeep used to release his excrement and urine in his bed and rumpled them. But with patience, I taught him everything. These days, he is my support.”

Her worry, however, is what will happen to Jaydeep after she is gone. An unspoken fear lingers in her heart. She said, “After I pass away, people may place him in the Ashram. I am afraid of how he will survive there.”

While speaking about herself and Jaydeep, her eyes kept welling up with tears. We told her, “Baa, don’t bother. God leads everybody to the proper desired path.”

She replied, “I have deep faith in Him. It is He who has sent you. Otherwise, I am no longer able to manage. I was worried about food, but now that you are here, I have no longer any worries.” Every month, we provide Pravinabaa and Jaydeep with enough groceries so they can eat well.

The government provides her with a pension, which allows her to buy vegetables and milk. However, due to health problems, her monthly medicines cost about 400–500 rupees. She said, “Please do something about this, if you can.” Yet, there was no trace of lust in her asking for or demanding more or extra.

We keep providing comforts to elders like her and other families with the help of the well-wishers associated with VSSM. Every month, groceries are provided to more than 750 older, senior citizens. We pray that God may make us instrumental in the well-being of many more!!

રંગીલુ રાજકોટ એવા બોર્ડ રાજકોટ સીટીની વચમાં ઘણી જગ્યાએ મારેલા જોયા. આનંદ થાય આ વાંચીને. આ રંગીલા રોજકોટમાં અમારા કાર્યકર કનુભાઈ અમને પ્રવિણાબાના ઘરે લઈ ગયા. સાફસુથરુ ઘર પણ ઘરમાં એક ઉદાસીનતા.

પ્રવિણાબા અને એમનો દિકરો જયદીપ એમાં રહે.જયદીપભાઈ દિવ્યાંગ. પ્રવિણાબા એમના નવી મા. પણ બાને જયદીપભાઈ પર ભારે પ્રેમ. બા કહે, “લગ્ન કરીને મને લાવ્યા ત્યારે તો જયદીપ ગોદડામાં ઝાડો, પેશાબ કરી નાખે ને પાછો એને ફેંદી નાખે. પણ મે ધીરજથી એને બધુ શીખવ્યુ. હાલ મારો એ આશરો.”

બાને ચિંતા એમના ગયા પછી જયદીપભાઈની. એ કહે, “મારા ગયા પછી આને કોઈ આશ્રમમાં લોકો મુકી આવશે. ત્યાં એને કેમ ફાવશે?.” બાની આંખો પોતાની ને જયદીપભાઈની વાત કરતા કરતા વારે વારે ભીની થઈ જતી. અમે કહ્યું, “બા ચિંતા ન કરો. ઈશ્વર સૌ માટે રસ્તા કરે.” બાએ કહ્યું, “એનો ભરોષો ભારે. એણે જ તમને મોકલ્યા. નહીં તો મારાથી હવે કામ નથી થતું. ખાવા પીવાની ચિંતા હતી પણ તમે આવ્યા તે મને એ ચિંતા ટળી.” અમે દર મહિને બા અને જયદીપભાઈ પેટ ભરીને ખાઈ શકે તેટલું રાશન આપીયે.

સરકાર એમને પેન્શન આપે તે એમાંથી શાક અને દૂધના પૈસા નીકળે. બા ને હવે તબીયતમાં કાંઈક તકલીફ છે તે મહિનાની 400 -500 ની દવા થાય છે. એમણે કહ્યું, “આનું કાંઈક થાય તો કરજો.” આમ માંગવાની કે વધારે કશું આપી દો એવી ભાવના બાની જરાય નહીં. આવા વડિલોને – પરિવારોને સાતા આપવાનું કાર્ય VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા સ્વજનો મારફત કરીએ. દર મહિને 750થી વધુ બા-દાદાઓને રાશન આપવાનું કરી રહ્યા છીએ. ઈશ્વર અનેકોના શુભમાં નિમિત્ત બનાવે તેવી પ્રાર્થના...

Saraniya women with a heavy heart discusses with Mittal Patel

 “How long will this rejection continue?”

“Now we feel, they should just pick us up and throw us into Pakistan. It might be bearable if a foreign country treated us like this, —but it hurts far more when our own people do it,”

With a heavy heart, Fuliben Saraniya of Trajpar, Morbi, said these words. In a way, her anguish is justified.

In 2022, the Honorable Chief Minister personally handed over allotment letters of housing plots to 124 families. But when the plots were assigned, the local people vehemently opposed their settlement, and since then, the issue has been hanging in the air.

At present, these 124 families keep wandering around the Morbi area without a permanent place.

When we met them at Ravapar recently, they expressed their rage, exasperation: “Come to our settlement during the monsoon, and you’ll truly understand our situation. Where to cook in the pouring rain? Snakes constantly seep into this abandoned and desolate open land. At night, we fear even placing our feet out of the cot. Sir, we have suffered too much. If the government cannot allot us the promised land, then allot us the land somewhere else—but please arrange to settle us properly.”

Listening to such stories of extreme hardship, we become dismal with sorrow.

We approached the District Collector and requested that these families be urgently relocated to another suitable site. He assured us that he would proceed quickly to settle this issue.

It is necessary to visit the homes of these marginalized people, more particularly during the monsoon, to truly understand their real hardship. If, after seeing their lives, we still do nothing, we would rightly be called heartless. Any compassionate person would feel this way.

Therefore, we sincerely appeal to the Government and the Honorable Chief Minister to provide these families with a place where they are accepted, where no one rejects them. And we appeal to society to come out of narrow- mindedness. These families are part of us; they are ours. Before driving them out so harshly, let us try placing ourselves in their situation. Placing our feet in their shoes, even for a moment, will make us realize where and how it hurts!!

મોરબીના ત્રાજપરમાં રહેતા ફુલીબેન સરાણિયાએ ભારે હૈયે આ કહ્યું. એમનું આવું કહેવું એક રીતે વ્યાજબી પણ ખરુ.

હાલ આ 124 પરિવારો મોરબી આસપાસમાં બસ રઝડ્યા કરે છે.

હાલ રવાપરમાં રહેતા આ પરિવારોને મળી ત્યારે એમણે રોષ સાથે કહ્યું, “ચોમાસામાં અમારી વસાહતમાં આવો તો

અમારી સ્થિતિનો સાચો ખ્યાલ આવે. વરસતા વરસાદમાં રાંધવું ક્યાં? એરુ તો આ અવાવરુ જગ્યામાં નિત નીકળે.

રાતના ખાટલા નીચે પગ મુકતા બીક લાગે. ભઈ સાબ બહુ વેઠ્યું. સરકારે નક્કી કરેલી જગ્યા ન અપાય તો બીજે ક્યાંક

આપો પણ અમને ઠેકાણે પાડો.”

ભયંકર વિપદાવાળી વાતો સાંભળીને આપણે ગમગીન થઈ જઈએ.

અમે જિલ્લા કલેક્ટર શ્રીને મળ્યા ને અન્ય કોઈ જગ્યાએ આ પરિવારોને ઝટપથી ખસેડવા વિનંતી કરી. એમણે પણ

આ દિશામાં ઝડપથી કામ કરશે એમ જણાવ્યું.

આમ તો વંચિતોના દ્વારે એમની સાચી સ્થિતિનો ચિતાર લેવા ચોમાસામાં ખાસ જવું. એમની જીંદગી જોયા પછી કશું ન

કરીએ તો આપણે ઢીઢ કહેવાઈએ એવું લાગણીસભર વ્યક્તિ હોય તો થશે જ.

ખેર સરકારને અને આદરણીય મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીને પણ આ પરિવારોને ઝડપથી એવી જગ્યા આપવા વિનંતી જ્યાં એમનો

સ્વીકાર થાય. કોઈ એમને કનડે નહીં. ને સમાજને પણ સંકુચિતામાંથી બહાર આવવા વિનંતી. આ બધા આપણા જ

પરિવારો છે. એમને આમ હડહડ કરી કાઢી મુકતા પહેલા એમની જગ્યાએ આપણી જાતને એક વખત ચોક્કસ મુકવાનું

કરીએ...

In Morbi, families from the Gadaliya nomadic community, who wandered for generations, now have permanent homes in Charadva.

These homes were built with the support of the government and a planning company. For years, these families lived under makeshift roofs or open skies — for them, a permanent house was just a dream. But through the joint efforts of the government and society, that dream has come true.

Of course, there were challenges. The plots allotted for housing were directly under a 64 kV power line managed by GETCO. This made construction impossible. But with the support of our Honourable Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel and the cooperation of GETCO, the power line was shifted, and the homes were finally built.

In this community, children’s education is not given much importance. Many believe that studying just five or seven books is "enough." We keep reminding them:

"If you don’t educate your children today, how will the future generation’s life improve?"

Also, their traditional occupations are no longer viable, which adds to their struggles. We continue to engage with them, hoping these conversations will help bring a shift in mindset, especially toward education.

Since getting homes, the Gadaliya families are more motivated to earn. Some now rent vehicles and drive for a living. But many more steps are needed to improve their lives further.

Recently, we planned a visit to meet the District Collector of Morbi to discuss the community’s progress and future needs. During our visit to Charadva, we had a detailed conversation with him.

Currently, seven families are still awaiting residential plots. We raised this issue during our meeting with the Collector, who assured us that swift action would be taken. We hope that in the coming days, these families too will have a home of their own.

We are deeply grateful to Honourable CM Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel. Thanks to his compassion, many families from nomadic communities now have permanent homes and a stable address — a new identity.

We also express heartfelt appreciation for our dedicated field workers Kanubhai and Chhayabahen, whose tireless efforts helped settle these families.

Having such committed team members in VSSM is truly a matter of pride.

“મોરબીમાં સદીઓથી રઝળપાટ કરતા પરિવારોને ચરાડવામાં પાક્કા ઘર મળ્યા.”

મોરબીનું ચરાડવા અમે ત્યાં વિચરતી જાતિમાંના ગાડલિયા સમુદાયના ઘરો સરકાર તેમજ નિયોજન કંપનીની મદદથી બાંધ્યા. વર્ષો પતરાની આડાશો તો ક્યાંક ખુલ્લામાં પોતાનો આશરો કરી રહેનાર ગાડલિયા માટે પાક્કુ ઘર તો સપના જેવું પણ એ સરકાર અને સમાજના સહિયારા પ્રયાસથી એ થઈ શક્યું.

જો કે અડચણો ઘણી આવી. જ્યાં પ્લોટ ફળવાયા તે પ્લોટની બરાબર ઉપરથી જેટકોની 64 કેવીની લાઈન પસારથાય. આવામાં ત્યાં ઘર બાંધવા તો અશક્ય. પણ આપણા મુખ્યમંત્રી આદરણીય શ્રી ભુપેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલની મદદથી અને જેટકોની પણ લાગણીથી લાઈન ખસી અને તમામ પરિવારોના ઘરો બંધાયા.

આ વસાહતમાં બાળકોનું ભણાવવાનું ખાસ થાય નહીં. પાંચ, સાત ચોપડી ભણી ગ્યા એટલે ઘણું એવું આ બધા માને ને અમે કહીએ ભણશો નહીં તો આવનારી પેઢીની જીંદગી કેવી રીતે બદલાશે? વળી તેમના પરંપરાગત ધંધા પણ હવે ચાલતા નથી. આ બધા મુદ્દે અમે સતત કહેતા રહીએ જેથી ક્યાંક મનમાં વાત ઉતરે ને બાળકોનું ભણતર આગળ વધે.

ઘરો થયા પછી ગાડલિયા પરિવારોની કમાવવાની હોંશ વધી છે. લોકો ભાડેથી ગાડીઓ ચલાવતા થયા છે. પણ હજુ જીંદગી વધારે બહેતર કેવી રીતે થાય એ બધી વાતો કરવા મોરબી જિલ્લા કલેક્ટર શ્રીને મળવા જવાનું હતું તે ચરાડવા પણ પહોંચ્યા ને એમની સાથે ઘણી વાતો કરી.

7 પરિવારોને હજુ રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ મળ્યા નથી તે એ અંગે પણ વાત થઈ. આ સાતેયને પ્લોટ મળે તે માટે મોરબી કલેક્ટર શ્રી ને મળ્યા ત્યારે વાત કરી. એમણે આ મુદ્દે ઝડપથી કામગીરી કરવા કહ્યું છે. આવાનારા દિવસોમાં આ પરિવારો પણ ઘરવાળા થાય એવું ઈચ્છીએ.

આદરણીય મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીનો ઘણો આભાર. એમની લાગણીથી વિચરતી જાતિના ઘણા પરિવારો હવે ઘરવાળા થઈ રહ્યા છે, એમને સ્થાયી સરનામા મળી રહ્યા છે.

અમારા કાર્યકર કનુભાઈ અને છાયાબહેનની મહેનત પણ આ પરિવારોને થાળે પાડવામાં ઘણી. એમના જેવા સંનીષ્ઠ કાર્યકરો VSSM પાસે હોવાનું ગૌરવ.

 "Have you ever been to a cremation ground?"

"Hey, bury me if I’ve ever been!"

"So today is your first time here?"

"Yes. Actually, someone at home said that trees are being planted in grandpa’s name. So I came... and then realized, for the first time ever, the whole family has gathered like this."

These were the words spoken by the women, who were planting trees with their heads covered in veils.

Even though the cremation ground is sacred, no one really wishes to come here while alive. But we come here, worship the trees, and plant them. Our hope is that women, men, and children from the village all participate in this event. It’s also a way to break the fear of the cremation ground.

In the cremation ground of Sedla village in Banaskantha, we planted 5,500 trees in partnership with Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation (KRSF) and the village community.

When we arrived at the cremation ground, we saw more than 500 villagers sitting near the dug-up pits, each holding a sapling to plant.

It was a beautiful sight. Everyone welcomed us, and after a ritual, we established the Tree Deity. All present chanted “Victory to Tree Narayan Dev!”

After that, everyone gathered in one place. Respected Shri Pratulbhai, founder of KRSF, spoke about the importance of trees. The VSSM team facilitated the entire event. The people of Sedla also honored every member of the team.

After that, everyone had tea and snacks — for many women and children, not only was it their first time at a cremation ground, it was also their first time eating there.

Through the Tree Nurturing Program, not only is nature conserved, but social beliefs also begin to shift. Plus, this initiative creates livelihood opportunities for many.

After seeing trees being planted in Sedla’s cremation ground, people from neighboring communities also started cleaning their own cremation grounds. They too want to free their spaces from invasive mesquite (ganda bawal).

We hope that villagers everywhere become aware and develop a sensitivity towards nature.

તમે કોઈ દિ સ્મશાનમાં આવેલા?'

'ઓય હું દાટ્યું હોય તે આબ્બુ પડ.'

'તો આજે પહેલીવાર આવ્યા?'

'હોવ. આતો ઘરના એ કીધું ક ઝાડ વાબ્બાના હ. તે આયા પણ હારુ કીધુ આ આખું કટમ્બ, ગોમ ઓમ પેલીવાર કા આ રીતે ભેળુ થ્યું.'માથે ઘૂંઘટ ઓઢેલી વૃક્ષો વાવી રહેલી બહેનોએ આ કહ્યું. સ્મશાન પવિત્ર ભૂમી પણ કોઈને અહીંયા જીવતા આવવું તો ન જ ગમે. અમે સ્મશાનમાં વૃક્ષો પૂજન કરીને વાવીએ. ગામના સ્ત્રી, પુરુષ, બાળકો સૌ આ કાર્યક્રમમાં હાજર રહે એવી અમારી લાગણી. આ બહાને સમ્શાન માટેનો ભય પણ ભાંગે.

બનાસકાંઠાના સેદલાગામના સ્મશાન માં અમે 5500 વૃક્ષો ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન (KRSF) અને ગામની ભાગીદારીથી વાવ્યા. અમે સ્મશાનમાં પહોંચ્યા તો ગામના 500 કરતા વધારે વ્યક્તિઓ વૃક્ષો વાવવા માટે કરેલા ખાડા પાસે એક એક વૃક્ષ લઈને બેઠેલા જોયા.સરસ નજારો હતો. સૌએ અમને આવકાર્યા ને પછી પૂજન કરી અમે વૃક્ષદેવનું સ્થાપન કર્યું.  સૌએ વૃક્ષ નારાયણ દેવ કી જયના નામનો જયધોષ કર્યો. 

એ પછી સૌ એક જગ્યા પર એકત્રીત થયા. વૃક્ષોના મહત્વની વાત  KRSFના સ્થાપક આદરણીય શ્રી પ્રતુલભાઈએ કરી. VSSM ટીમ  આ કાર્યમાં નિમિત્ત બની. સેદલાવાસીઓએ ટીમના તમામ સદસ્યોનું પણ સન્માન કર્યું. 

એ પછી સ્મશાનમાં સૌએ ચા નાસ્તો કર્યો. જેમ બહેનો અને બાળકોનું સ્મશાનમાં આવવાનું પહેલીવાર નું હતું અદલ એવું જ અહીંયા નાસ્તો કરવાનું પણ હતું.

વૃક્ષ ઉછેર કાર્યક્રમ અંતર્ગત પ્રકૃતિનું સંવર્ધન તો થાય છે સાથે સાથે સામાજીક માન્યતાઓ પણ બદલાય છે. વળી અનેકોને આ કાર્યમાંથી રોજી રોટી પણ મળે છે. 

સેદલાની એક સ્મશાનભૂમીમાં વૃક્ષો વવાતા જોઈને ગામના અન્ય સમાજના લોકોએ પણ પોતાની સ્મશાન ભૂમિ સાફ કરવાની શરૂઆત કરી દીધી. એમને પણ પોતાના સ્મશાનને ગાંડા બાવળ થી મુક્ત કરવું છે. 

બસ ગામે ગામ લોકો જાગે ને પ્રકૃતિ પ્રત્યે સંવેદનશીલ બને તેવું ઈચ્છીએ. 

આભાર પ્રતુલભાઈ તમે સાથે છો એનો રાજીપો ને સાથે કુદરત તમને ખુબ આપે ને અનેકોના શુભમાં નિમિત્ત બનાવે તેવી પ્રાર્થના..

Mittal Patel meets Jivatba 

Jivat Ba walks with difficulty, relying on the support of her two hands and feet.

Because of her physical condition, she never married and continued to live with her parents in their home.

As long as her parents were alive, things were manageable. But after their passing, life became a struggle.

She has no one to care for her on a daily basis.

Her neighbors and distant relatives offer occasional help, but her loneliness is deep.

She lives in Santokpura village, near Kheralu in Mehsana district.

Her house is not really a house — it’s a fragile mud hut, with severe leaks during monsoon.

There is no toilet or bathroom, and that adds to her daily hardships.

She also doesn’t have a ration card, which means no access to government food assistance.

When our volunteers Rameshbhai and Pareshbhai came to know about Ba’s condition, they included her in our Mavjat (care) program, and we began providing her with monthly ration.

But upon seeing her living conditions, Rameshbhai felt deeply moved and insisted that Ba should also get a proper house.

Around the same time, we received a call from Urvibahen from Canada.

She said:“If I can help build a home for a needy person, please let me know. When we first came to Canada, we had no home of our own, and I still remember what that felt like. Being a part of giving someone a home is a deep joy.”

We shared Jivat Ba’s story with Urviben, and she immediately agreed to help build Ba's home.

Because of the monsoon rains, removing Ba’s existing mud hut was a bit difficult, but it has now been taken down.

Before starting the foundation digging, Rameshbhai and Pareshbhai wished for a Bhumi Pujan (land worship) to be performed.

When we recently traveled near Kheralu, we visited Ba’s home.

Ba performed the Bhumi Pujan herself, and now, construction of her new house will begin.

When we asked Ba what kind of home she would like, she simply said:

“Just a single room with a porch, and a toilet and bathroom at the back. If the toilet is at the back, it’ll be easier for me.”

Her request was practical and touching, reflecting her physical limitations.

We will build her home exactly as she needs it.

Not everyone has the ability to use their God-given blessings for others.

Only those touched by divine grace can offer such selfless generosity.

Thanks to people like Urviben, we are able to carry out such meaningful work.

We are deeply grateful for the empathy and compassion shown by all such well-wishers.

Let us continue to pray for strength and resources to help many more people like Ba.

જીવત બા બે હાથ અને પગના ટેકાથી વાંકા ચાલે. શરીરની આ હાલતના લીધે એમના લગ્ન ન થયા. એ માતા પિતા સાથે પિયરમાં જ રહ્યા. મા - બાપ જીવતા હતા ત્યાં સુધી એમને વાંધો ન આવ્યો પણ એમના ગયા પછી તકલીફો ઊભી થઈ. 

એમની ચાકરી કરનારુ કોઈ નહીં. આમ પડોશી અને દૂરના એમના સગા એમનું ધ્યાન રાખે. પણ ઓશિયાળી તો ખરી જ. 

મહેસાણા જિલ્લાના ખેરાલુના સંતોકપુરા ગામમાં એ રહે. રહેવા સરખુ ઘર નહીં. કાચુ માટીનું છાપરુ. ચોમાસામાં સખત ચુવા થાય. ટોયલેટ બાથરૂમની સુવિધા નહીં તે એમાં પણ તકલીફ. રેશનકાર્ડ પણ એમની પાસે નહીં.

અમારા કાર્યકર રમેશભાઈ, પરેશભાઈને એમના વિષે ખ્યાલ આવ્યો ને એમણે બાને રાહત રહે તે માટે અમારા માવજત કાર્યક્રમ અંતર્ગત દર મહિને રેશન આપવા અમને કહ્યું. બાને રાશન આપવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. પણ એમના ઘરની હાલત જોઈને પણ રમેશભાઈને જીવ બળે. એમણે બાનું નાનકડુ ઘર થાય તે માટે પણ વાત કરી. 

આ દરમ્યાન જ અમને કેનાડાથી ઊર્વીબેનનો ફોન આવ્યો. એમણે કહ્યું. "કોઈ જરૃરિયાત મંદ પરિવારનું ઘર બાંધવામાં હું મદદરૂપ થઈ શકુ તો મને જણાવજો. અમે કેનેડા આવ્યા ત્યારે પોતાનું ઘર ન હોવાથી જે અનુભવ્યું એટલે થાય કે કોઈને ઘર આપવામાં નિમિત્ત બનવું એ મોટુ સુખ."

ઊર્વીબેનને જીવતબાની વાત કરીને એમનું બાંધવા મદદ કરવા કહ્યું. એમણે તુરત એ સ્વીકાર્યું.

બાનું છાપરુ ચોમાસા દરમ્યાન અને સતત વરસાદના કારણે હટાવવું થોુડુ મુશ્કેલ બન્યું. પણ હમણા એ હટાવ્યું. પાયા ખોદવાનું શરૃ કરતા પહેલા ભૂમીનું પૂજન થાય એવી પરેશભાઈ, રમેશભાઈની ઈચ્છા તે હમણાં ખેરાલુ બાજુ જવાનું થયું ત્યારે જીવતબાના ત્યાં પણ જવાનું થયું.

બાના હાથે જમીનનું પૂજન કર્યું. હવે ઘર બાંધકામ શરૃ કરીશું.

બાને પૂછ્યું કે કેવું ઘર જોઈએ તો કહે, "એક રૃમ ઓસરી અને ઘરના પાછળના ભાગમાં ટોયલેટ બાથરૃમ બાંધી આપજો. ઘર પાછળ બાથરૃમ ટોયલેટ હોય તો મને સારુ રહે."

બાની આ વાત સમજાય એવી હતી. એમને ચાલવામાં તકલીફ એટલે આ વ્યવસ્થા કરવા એમણે કહ્યું. અમે એમની ઈચ્છા મુજબનું ઘર બાંધી આપીશું. 

 પ્રભૂએ આપેલા પરમ ધનની લાહણી કરવાની તાકાત બધામાં નથી. પરમ કૃપાળુ પરમાત્માની જેના પર કૃપા થાય એ આવી લહાણી કરી શકે. ઊર્મીબેન જેવા અનેક સ્વજનો આવા કાર્યોમાં અમારી સાથે છે માટે આવા કામો થાય છે. આપ સૌની આ લાગણી માટે આભારી છું.

બા જેવા અનેકોને મદદ કરી શકીએ એવી ઈશ્વરને પ્રાર્થના...

Our mission to plant and nurture trees is now bearing fruit.

In Chekra village of Banaskantha, around 5,500 trees were planted with blessings and rituals, thanks to the support of Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation (KRSF) and APMC – Lakhani.

The founder of KRSF, respected Pratulbhai Shroff, was specially present at this event.

Through KRSF, support has been extended for planting and nurturing over 400,000 trees so far.

Pratulbhai continues to be a driving force not just in the welfare of people, but also in the well-being of all living beings.

His philosophy—of using his wealth for the good of all life on Earth—is truly worthy of salute and deep respect.

There’s much to learn from him.

In Chekra, the tree plantation was largely made possible through the generous support of #KRSF, and #APMC-Lakhani, who contributed 5,500 saplings and marked their participation meaningfully.

Such collaboration between organizations and villages is essential and desirable.

In every village, there are always a few families whom God has blessed with abundance.

What matters most is their willingness to share that abundance with others.

In Chekra, we began by worshipping the trees and formally installing Vruksha Dev (Tree God).

Local MLA Shri Keshaji Chauhan and his team were present for the event and extended their active support.

The managers of Chekra Gaushala and Mahant Shri also warmly welcomed everyone.

Naranbhai, Chairman of APMC – Lakhani, along with his active team, participated enthusiastically.

Many villagers came together to offer prayers and personally plant the trees.

Besides this, several well-wishers from Chekra and neighboring villages, who have consistently supported VSSM’s efforts, were present to mark the occasion.

Everyone clicked selfies with the trees, capturing memories of the moment.

From the VSSM team, Naranbhai, Jorabhai, Ratnabhai, Hareshbhai, Alpesh, Ashwinbhai and others worked hard to make this event a success.

VSSM feels honored to play a role in such meaningful work.

May the Divine always allow us to be instruments in such noble endeavors—this is our humble prayer.

વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનું અમારુ અભિયાન હવે રંગ લાવી રહ્યું છે. બનાસકાંઠાના ચેકરાગામમાં 5500 જેટલા વૃક્ષો ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન (KRSF) અને APMC – લાખણીની મદદથી વૃક્ષનું પૂજન કરીને વાવ્યા.

KRSF ના સ્થાપક આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ આ કાર્યક્રમમાં ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા. KRSF થકી અત્યાર સુધી 4 લાખ કરતા વધારે વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવા મદદ કરવામાં આવી છે. પ્રતુલભાઈ માણસોના કલ્યાણની સાથે સાથે સમગ્ર જીવસૃષ્ટિના કલ્યાણના કાર્યોમાં નિમિત્ત બની રહ્યા છે. આમ તો મળેલી સંપદા સમગ્ર જીવ સૃષ્ટિના કલ્યાણમાં ખર્ચવાની એમની ભાવનાને પ્રણામ કરવા ઘટે. એમની પાસેથી અનેકોએ શીખવા જેવું છે.

ચેકરામાં વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા તેમાં મહત્તમ મદદ #KRSFની આમાં #APMC – લાખણીએ 5500 વૃક્ષો આપી પોતાની સહભાગીતા નોંધાવી. ગામે ગામ આ પ્રકારની ભાગીદારી થાય તે પણ ઈચ્છનીય.

દરેક ગામોમાં કેટલાક પરિવારો એવા હોય છે જેમને ઈશ્વરે સુખ આપ્યું છે. બસ આ સુખને અન્યોને વહેંચવા માટે તેઓ સહમત થાય એ અગત્યનું.

ચેકરામાં વૃક્ષ પૂજન કરીને વૃક્ષ દેવનું સ્થાપન કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું ને આ વિસ્તારના જાગતલ ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી કેશાજી ચૌહાણ તેમજ તેમની ટીમ આ કાર્ય માટે ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહી. ચેકરા ગૌશાળાના સંચાલકો, મહંત શ્રી સૌએ પણ ઉપસ્થિતિ સૌને આવકાર્યા. APMC – લાખણીના ચેરમેન નારણભાઈ તેમજ તેમની ટીમ પણ એકદમ સક્રિય. વૃક્ષો પૂજન માટે ગામના સૌ મોટી સંખ્યામાં ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા ને પૂજન કરીને પોતાના હસ્તે વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા.

આ સિવાય સંસ્થાના કાર્યમાં સદાય મદદરૃપ થતા ચેકરા આસપાસના ગામોના અનેક સ્વજનો આ કાર્યક્રમમાં ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા. સૌએ વૃક્ષ સાથે સેલ્ફી પણ પડાવી.

VSSM ટીમના નારણભાઈ, જોરાભાઈ, રત્નાભાઈ, હરેશભાઈ, અલ્પેશ, અશ્વિનભાઈ વગેરે સૌની મહેનત આ કાર્યક્રમ સફળ બનાવવા રહી.

VSSMને આવા શુભકાર્યમાં નિમિત્ત બન્યાનો આનંદ. ઈશ્વર સૌના શુભમાં હંમેશા નિમિત્ત બનાવે તેવી પ્રાર્થના...

Mittal Patel meets Khemi ba

Pain should only be given to the extent one can bear it.

But in the case of Khemiba, it felt like boundless suffering had taken permanent residence, and joy had forgotten her address entirely.

Khemiba is not very tall. Her stomach is severely swollen—tight like a water pot. If one didn’t know her age, they might think she was pregnant.

When we asked gently, “What happened, Ba?” she said, “It’s a tumor.”

We responded, “Then let’s get an operation done so you can be free from this.”

But Ba replied, “The doctor said if you operate, the old lady will die.”

Her face was expressionless. Eyes vacant and dull.

She lives in Navi Sedani village of Vadgam, Banaskantha.

Her house was built with government aid back in 2002, but now it’s almost in ruins. During monsoon, it leaks badly.

When our volunteers Pareshbhai and Rameshbhai learned about her condition, they visited her. They removed the damaged roof and arranged for tin sheets to be installed—covering the toilet, bathroom, and front porch with sloped roofing.

But Ba had one wish—to meet us once.

We were on our way to meet the Banaskantha Collector regarding the issues faced by nomadic communities, and we stopped by to meet Khemiba.

What we saw left us speechless.

Inside Ba’s house was a single photograph.

I asked, “Ba, who is this?”

She said, “My son. If he were alive and healthy, I wouldn’t be drowning in this sorrow.”

And with that, she broke down in tears.

Her other son is disabled—unable to walk. He wasn’t home.

We asked, “Where is he?” She said, “He’s gone out to beg for food.”

Some kind villagers occasionally bring food for this mother and son, but their situation is extremely tragic.

It’s hard to understand how such a state of life can exist.

Ba has cancer in her stomach. And she seems to be waiting for death.

Her only concern is: “If the house is repaired, my son can stay here safely. Maybe in the future, someone from the family will get married, and a girl will agree to live here.”

She talks again and again about getting the house fixed.

I heard in her cracked, resigned voice—like a stone that has turned into a mother’s heart—“Khamma, my child”, and I saw something divine in her brokenness.

Currently, mother and son are living in a relative’s house. But she says, “That’s not ours. I want something that’s truly ours.”

When we offered her rations and asked, “Will you be able to cook this?”

She pointed to her swollen stomach and said, “I can’t even sit properly.”

Then added, “If I give it to a neighbor, maybe they’ll cook it for us.”

We assured her: we will take care of that too.

We will repair Ba’s house in memory of our beloved Kushalbhai.

With the support of our respected Kishorbhai Patel—our beloved uncle, we’ve already built many ‘Kush Homes’, and Khemiba’s house will be the next in that series.

But seeing someone live in such conditions tears at your soul.

May nature never give anyone so much pain that they forget what happiness even feels like...

We prayed silently for relief from her suffering as we left her home.

And now—we will build Ba’s home, quickly

પીડા સહન થાય એટલી જ આપવી. આમ પારાવાર વેદના ને સુખ તો જાણે ખેમીબાના ઘરનું સરનામુ જ ભૂલી ગયું હોય એવું અમે જોયું.

બાની ઊંચાઈ ઝાઝી નહીં. ને પેટ તો ગાગરડી જેવું, એકદ કઠણ. ઉંમર ન થઈ હોય તો જાણે ગર્ભવતી હોય એવું લાગે. 

શું થયું બા એવું પુછ્યું તો કે, ગાંઠ છે. અમે કહ્યું, તો ઓપરેશન કરાવી લઈએ તમને નિરાંત થાય ને બાએ કહ્યું, ડોક્ટર ના કેહ. ઓપરેશન કરશો તો ડોશી મરી જશો.

બાના ચહેરા પર કોઈ ભાવ નહોતા. નિસ્તેજ થયેલી આંખો. બનાસકાંઠાના વડગામના નવી સેદણીગામમાં એ રહે. ઘર તો સરકારી સહાયથી 2002માં બનેલું. પણ એ ઘર તો હવે પડુ પડુ થાય. ચોમાસામાં તો ચુવા થાય.

અમારા કાર્યકર પરેશભાઈ અને રમેશભાઈને બાની માહિતી મળી તે બેય એમને મળ્યા ને એમના ઘર પરનું ધાબુ ઉતારી ત્યાં પતરા નાખી ટોયલેટ બાથરૃમ ને ઓટલા આગળ પતરા નાખી ઢાળિયું કરી દેવા કહ્યું. પણ એમની ઈચ્છા બાને એક વખત અમે મળીયે એવી તે  બનાસકાંઠા કલેક્ટર શ્રીને વિચરતી જાતિઓના મુદ્દે મળવાનું હતું તે મળીને અમે ખેમીબા પાસે પહોંચ્યા. ને સ્થિતિ જોઈને મન શૂન્ય થઈ ગયું.

બાના ઘરમાં એક ફોટો હતો. મે કહ્યું, બા આ કોણ તો કહે, મારો દિકરો. જુવાનજોધ એ હોત તો મારે આ દુઃખના દાડા ના હોત. ને બા રડી પડ્યા.

એમના બીજા દિકરાના પગ ચાલતા નથી. એ વિકલાંગ છે. એ ઘરે નહોતો. અમે પુછયું એ ક્યા ગયો તો કહે, એ ખાવા માંગવા ગયો. 

આમ તો ગામમાંથી કેટલાક સેવાભાવી માણસો આ બેય મા-દિકરાને જમવાનું આપી જાય. પણ સ્થિતિ અત્યંત દયનીય.

આવી હાલત કોઈની કેમ હોય એ ખરેખર નથી સમજાતું.

બાના પેટમાં કેન્સરની ગાંઠ છે ને બા જાણે મરવાની રાહ જુએ. ઘર સરખુ થાય તો દીકરો રહી શકે ને ઘર ભવિષ્યમાં કુટુંબવાળાને મળશે એમ વિચારી કોઈ ચોકરી કરી લે. એવી બાની ભાવના. તે ઘર સરખુ કરી દોની વાત એ વારેવારે કરે. ખમ્મા મારા લાલ એવું પથ્થર થઈ ગયેલી મા કહે એવું જ ક્યાંક ખેમીબામાં જોયું.

હાલ મા-દીકરો પોતાના સંબંધીના ઘરમાં જ રહે. પણ પોતાનું એ પોતાનું એવું એ કહે. 

રાશન આપીએ તો તમે રાંધો એવું બાને પુછ્યું તો કહે, મારાથી તો બેસાતુંયે નથી આ પેટ જુઓ. પણ પડોશમાં કોઈકને આપુ તો એ રાંધી આપે ખરા.

અમે એ પણ કરીશું.

બાનું ઘર અમારા પ્રિય કુશલભાઈની સ્મૃતિમાં ઠીક થાય એવું કરીશું. આદરણીય કિશોરભાઈ પટેલ- અમારા પ્રિય અંકલની મદદથી અમે ઘણા કુશ હોમ બાંધ્યા. ખેમીબાનું ઘર પણ એ સીરીઝમાં આગળ બાંધીશું.

પણ આવી સ્થિતિમાં જીવતા માણસોને જોઈને જીવ બળે. 

કુદરત એટલુંયે દુઃખ ન આપ કે આ જગતમાં સુખ છે આ વાત જ ભૂલી જવાય... દુઃખ હરી લેની પ્રાર્થના ત્યાંથી નીકળતા નીકળતા ઈશ્વરને કરી.

બસ બાનુ ઘર ઝટ બાંધીશું.

Khimat, a prominent village in Dhanera, once had a significant Jain population.

To provide shelter for stray cows, a gaushala (cow shelter) was established here. The village invited us to plant over 2,500 trees on its premises.

More accurately, it was not just the village but the managers of the gaushala who extended the invitation.

Anilbhai Shah, originally from the village but now residing in Navsari, took the lead in organizing the tree plantation.

The Amritlal Dolani family, currently based in Bangalore, contributed funds for fencing the plantation area.

Then came the task of planting and nurturing the trees, for which they reached out to VSSM.

With the support of our respected Kishorbhai Patel (Uncle), we decided to assist in memory of dear Kushalbhai—providing funding for drip irrigation, pit digging, tree saplings, and appointing a "Vrukshmitra" (Tree Caretaker) to maintain the grove.

With this collective effort, the project took shape. As is our tradition, we began with a tree worship ceremony, and it was decided to do the same in Khimat.

We all arrived at the gaushala, where the plantation was to happen, accompanied by drums and the village community, celebrating as we went.

We worshipped the saplings and then planted them with love and care.

This Kush Gramvan, being developed in memory of dear Kushalbhai, will soon become home to countless living beings and will bring peace to all who dwell there.

Along with the support of respected Kishor Uncle, we extend heartfelt thanks to Amritlalbhai as well.

When such dedicated individuals come together, the work truly shines.

Special thanks to Anilbhai and our VSSM team members—Narayanbhai, Ratnabhai, Maheshbhai, Hareshbhai, Jorabhai, and Ashwinbhai.

Because of their tireless efforts, over 1.35 million trees are now growing across 240 Gramvans.

We pray that Nature continues to bless us, and that we may plant and nurture even more trees in the days to come.

ધાનેરાનું ખીમત મોટુ અને એક વખતે જૈનોની સારી એવી વસતિ ધરાવતું ગામ. આ ગામે રખડતી ગાયોને આશરો આપવા ગૌશાળા બનાવી. જેમાં 2500 થી વધારે વૃક્ષોનું વાવેતર કરવા ગામે અમને આમંત્રણ આપ્યું.

આમ તો ગામ કહેવા કરતા ગૌશાળાના સંચાલકો કહેવું વધારે ઉચીત. ગામના અનીલભાઈ શાહ નવસારી રહે. એમણે વૃક્ષો વાવવા આગેવાની લીધી. ફ્રેન્સીંગ કરવા ગામના બેંગલોરમાં રહેતા અમૃતલાલ દોલાણી પરિવારે મદદ કરી.

હવે વાત હતી વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાની. એ માટે એમણે VSSM નો સંપર્ક કર્યો. અમારા આદરણીય કિશોરભાઈ પટેલ (અંકલ)ની મદદથી પ્રિય કુશલભાઈની સ્મૃતિમાં અમે આ ગ્રામવનમાં ડ્રીપ, ખાડા, વૃક્ષો લાવી, વાવી ઉછેરવા વૃક્ષમિત્ર રાખવાના ખર્ચમાં મદદ કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું.

આમ સહિયારા પ્રયાસથી આ કાર્ય પાર પાડવાનું નક્કી થયું. વૃક્ષો વાવવાનું શરૃ કરતા પહેલા અમે વૃક્ષપૂજન કરીએ. ખીમતમાં પણ એ રીતે કરવાનું નક્કી થયું ને ગામની ગૌશાળામાં અમે સૌ પહોંચ્યા. ગૌશાળાના મુખ્ય દ્વારથી વૃક્ષ રોપણ જ્યાં કરવાનું હતું ત્યાં ગામના સૌ સાથે અમે વાગતા ઢોલે પહોંચ્યા ને વૃક્ષોનું પૂજન કરીને વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા.

પ્રિય કુશલભાઈની સ્મૃતિમાં તૈયાર થનાર આ કુશ ગ્રામવન જેમાં અનેક જીવો રહેશે ને સાતા પામશે.

આદરણીય કિશોર અંકલની મદદની સાથે સાથે અમૃતલાલભાઈનો પણ ઘણો ઘણો આભાર. આ રીતે અનેક સ્વજનો સાથે જોડાય તો કામ કેવું દીપી ઉઠે.

આભાર અનીલભાઈ અને અમારી ટીમના કાર્યકરો નારણભાઈ, રત્નાભાઈ, મહેશભાઈ, હરેશભાઈ, જોરાભાઈ, અશ્વિનભાઈ સૌ કાર્યકર્તાઓનો. એમની સતત જેહમતથી જ આજે 13.50 લાખથી વધારે વૃક્ષો 240 ગ્રામવનોમાં ઉછરી રહ્યા છે.

“My father had a vision, and he dedicated three acres of land for voiceless animals.”

In Banaskantha, it's not uncommon to see privately owned land being donated for charitable or religious purposes.

In Bhensana village of Banaskantha, where we planted 3,000 trees, the land belongs to Pannalalbhai, whose father had dedicated it years ago as gauchar (grazing land).

At the time, the land was overgrown with prosopis juliflora (known locally as ‘gando baval’) — so dense that even mute animals would find it hard to take shelter there.

Premjibhai and other village leaders took the initiative to clear the wild shrubs from the land and invited us to plant and nurture trees there.

With the generous support of respected Piyushbhai Kothari of the Jewellex family, we planted over 2,500 trees on this land. We’ve committed to nurturing these trees for the next three to four years.

At a time when people are encroaching on grazing lands or have already done so for years, the actions of Pannalalbhai’s father stand as an inspiring example.

Even today, though the land is in Pannalalbhai’s name, and its market value is in the lakhs, he has not succumbed to greed. Individuals like him truly deserve our salute.

The Jewelex family is also remarkable—respected Piyushbhai has been supporting the work of VSSM for many years.

We are deeply thankful for his contribution.

Our team was specially present for this activity and performed the tree plantation with proper rituals and respect.

We sincerely hope that more and more villages join in this effort to plant and nurture trees.

માલીકીની જમીન ધર્માદા પેટે કાઢવી એ પરંપરા બનાસકાંઠામાં ઘણી જોવા મળે. બનાસકાંઠાના ભેંસાણામાં જ્યાં ત્રણ હજાર વૃક્ષોનું વાવેતર અમે કર્યું તે જમીન ગામના પન્નાલાલભાઈની માલિકીની. જે વર્ષો પહેલા એમના પિતાએ ગૌચર પેટે કાઢેલી. આ જમીન ગાંડાબાવળથી ભરેલી એક રીતે તો મૂંગા જાનવરને બેસવું ભારે પડે એવી.

ગામના પ્રેમજીભાઈ અને અન્ય આગેવાનોએ આ જમીન પરથી ગાંડો બાવળ કઢાવ્યો અને અમને વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવા નિમંત્રણ આપ્યું.

આદરણીય પિયુષભાઈ કોઠારી – જવેલેક્ષ પરિવારની મદદથી અમે 2500 થી વધારે વૃક્ષોનું અહીંયા વાવેતર કર્યુ. ત્રણ થી ચાર વર્ષ અમે આ વૃક્ષોની જાળવણી કરીશું.  

પણ જ્યાં ગૌચર જમીન પર લોકો દબાણ કરી રહ્યા છે અથવા વર્ષોથી દબાણ કરી બેઠા છે ત્યાં પન્નાલાલભાઈના પિતા જેવા ઉદાહરણરૃપ કામ કરી ગયા. આજે પન્નાલાલભાઈના પિતા હાજર નથી. જમીન કિંમતી, વેચે તો લાખો રૃપિયા આવે પાછી જમીન આજેય પન્નાલાલભાઈના નામે પણ લાલચ તેમના પર હાવી નથી. આવા વ્યક્તિઓને સલામ.

જવેલેક્ષ પરિવાર તો બહુ નોખો, આદરણીય પિયુષભાઈ વર્ષોથી VSSM ના કાર્યોમાં મદદ કરે. તમારો ઘણો ઘણો આભાર.

અમારી ટીમ ખાસ આ કાર્યમાં હાજર રહી ને વૃક્ષોનું વાવેતર પૂજન સાથે કર્યું.. બસ ગામે ગામ અનેક વૃક્ષો વવાય તેમ ઈચ્છીએ..

We arrived at the cremation ground with drums beating and celebration.

You might wonder—who goes to a cremation ground like that! In a way, your doubt is valid. Usually, people go to the cremation ground with heavy hearts to bid a final farewell to the deceased.

But we, along with the entire village, arrived with drums and joy to give a permanent resting place to over 10,000 loved ones.

These loved ones will make the cremation ground their permanent home and will also provide shelter to many others.

You may be wondering, what is this all about? So let’s solve the riddle.

In Makdalla village of Banaskantha, we held a tree plantation ceremony at the cremation ground. With the help of Parikh Foundation, we planted 10,000 saplings there—with a commitment to nurture them.

During the tree worship ceremony, the team from Parikh Foundation was present. Milanbhai, one of the founders and a senior member of the Parikh family, was specially present at the event. Along with him, Vyomaben Parikh, who consistently supports the work of VSSM, also attended.

The MLA of Diyodar-Lakhani, Mr. Keshaji Chauhan, the village head, Mr. T.P. Rajput from Lavana, former Sarpanch Ramabhai Rajput of Lavana village, and other dignitaries were also present.

Our volunteer Naranbhai and his team worked very hard for this initiative. This year, we have pledged to plant and nurture 650,000 trees. Our goal is simple: plant as many trees as possible and ensure their survival.

In Makdalla, we have arranged drip irrigation to ensure the trees get regular water. We also appointed a paid caretaker, whom we call Vrukshmitra (Friend of the Trees), who will look after the trees for 3 to 4 years.

Posters of our Prime Minister’s slogan ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (One Tree in the Name of Mother) were also put up in Parikh Gramvan. A selfie point was created too, where everyone clicked selfies with the trees.

Our hope is that village after village wakes up and joins this movement—to plant and nurture trees this way.

સ્મશાનમાં અમે સૌ વાજતે ગાજતે પહોંચ્યા. તમને થશે સ્મશાનમાં આવી રીતે તે કોઈ જાય! તમારી વાત એક રીતે સાચી. સામાન્ય રીતે મૃતકને સદેહે વિદાય આપવા જ સૌ ગમગીન હૃદયે સ્મશાનમાં જાય. પણ અમે તો 10,000 થી વધારે સ્વજનોને કાયમી સ્થાનક આપવા ગામના સૌ સાથે વાગતે ઢોલે પહોંચ્યા.

પાછા આ સ્વજનો સ્મશાનમાં પોતાનું કાયમી સરનામુ કરશે ને અનેકને પોતાના ત્યાં આસરો આપશે.

તમને થશે આ શાની વાત કરે છે? તો ચાલો હવે કોયડો ઉકેલું. અમે બનાસકાંઠાના મકડાલા ગામમાં પૂજન સાથે વૃક્ષોનું સ્થાપન કર્યું. પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશનની મદદથી અમે 10,000 બાલતરુઓ સ્મશાનમાં વાવ્યા એ પણ ઉછેરવાના સંકલ્પ સાથે.

વૃક્ષ પૂજન કાર્યક્રમમાં પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશનની ટીમ ખાસ હાજર રહી. પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશનના સ્થાપકોમાંના એક અને પરીખ પરિવારના મોભી મીલનભાઈ કાર્યક્રમમાં ખાસ ઉપસ્થિતિ રહ્યા તેમની સાથે VSSM ના કામોમાં સદાય મદદ કરતા વ્યોમાબેન પરીખ પણ હાજર રહ્યા. દિયોદર-લાખણીના ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી કેશાજી ચૌહાણ, એ સિવાય ગામના સરપંચ શ્રી, લવાણાથી શ્રી ટી.પી. રાજપૂત, લવાણાગામના પૂર્વ સરપંચ શ્રી રામાભાઈ રાજપૂત અને અને અન્ય આગેવાનો ઉપસ્થિતિ રહ્યા.

અમારા કાર્યકર નારણભાઈ અને એમની ટીમની આ કાર્યમાં ભારે જેહમત. આ વર્ષે 6.50 લાખ વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનો અમારો સંકલ્પ છે. બસ મહત્તમ વૃક્ષો વવાય અને વાવેલા મહત્તમ ઉછરે એવું ઈચ્છીએ.

અમે મકડાલામાં વાવેલા વૃક્ષોને કાયમ પાણી મળી રહે તે માટે ડ્રીપની વ્યવસ્થા, તેમજ પગારદાર માણસ જેને અમે વૃક્ષમિત્ર કહીએ તેની નિયુક્ત કરીએ જે ત્રણ થી ચાર વર્ષ વૃક્ષની જાળવણી કરે.

આપણા વડાપ્રધાન શ્રીની નેમ એક પેડ મા કે નામ ના પોસ્ટર પણ પરીખ ગ્રામવનમાં લાગ્યા. સેલ્ફી પોઈન્ટ પણ અહીંયા તે સૌએ વૃક્ષો સાથે સેલ્ફી પણ પડાવી.

બસ ગામે ગામ સૌ જાગે ને આ રીતે વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરે...

Surendranagar District Collector Dr. Rajendrakumar Patel visited the nomadic and denotified Dafer families in Bhadvana village of Lakhtar Taluka.

These families have been provided housing by the district administration and the Nomadic Community Support Forum (VSSM). The district collector personally met with these families.

During the visit, the Collector inquired about the government benefits they receive, including NFSA ration cards, inclusion in the BPL list, and old age pensions.

He also instructed the swift resolution of pending applications related to plots allotted in the province as well as in Lakhtar and Wadhwan.

સુરેન્દ્રનગર જિલ્લા કલેકટર ડૉ .રાજેન્દ્રકુમાર પટેલે લખતર તાલુકાના ભડવાણા ગામે વિચરતી અને વિમુક્ત જાતિઓના ડફેર પરિવારોની મુલાકાત કરી હતી. 

આ પરિવારોને જિલ્લા વહીવટી તંત્ર અને વિચરતા સમુદાય સમર્થન મંચ -vssm દ્વારા મકાન બાંધકામ કરી આપ્યા છે. આ પરિવારોની મુલાકાત જિલ્લા કલેક્ટરશ્રી દ્વારા કરાઈ હતી. ડફેર પરિવારોને મળતા સરકારી લાભો બાબતે પણ કલેક્ટર શ્રી એ પૂછપરછ કરી હતી. જેમાં NFSA રેશનકાર્ડ,BPL યાદી વૃદ્ધ પેન્શન વગેરે બાબતે પણ પૂછપરછ કરી હતી. તેમજ પ્રાંત ને લખતર અને વઢવાણ માં કરેલ પ્લોટોની અરજી નુ ત્વરિત નિવારણ કરવા સૂચના આપી હતી

From Drought to Growth: Vatadau’s Remarkable Tree Plantation Story...

We want to plant trees in our village.

We decided to hold a meeting with the villagers to discuss it. If the villagers are ready to take responsibility for this initiative, then we will certainly move forward with planting trees.

This conversation took place with Shri Bhemabhai Rabari, a respected leader from Vatadau village in Banaskantha, who then organized a meeting with the villagers.

During the meeting, many villagers expressed concern:

“We already struggle to get drinking water—how can we possibly take care of trees?”

Initially, even we were inclined to step back from the plan.

But then, the Sarpanch stepped in and said, “I will arrange water for the trees, no matter how difficult it is. Just place your trust in me.”

We trusted him.

With support from Ashwinbhai Kothari of Winro Commercial India Ltd., we planted 4,000 trees in the village.

We used to receive reports about the trees’ healthy growth, but hadn’t yet visited in person.

Recently, we had begun water conservation work in Rajasthan. On our way back from Barmer, our team member Narabhai suggested:

"Didi, let’s stop by Vatadau. Last year we planted 4,000 trees, and this year we’re planting another 10,000—let’s go see how it’s going."

So, we went to Vatadau.

To our delight, we saw that the trees planted during last Diwali had grown beautifully.

Thanks to the care taken by tree friends (village volunteers), the Sarpanch, and several aware villagers, the trees were thriving.

Despite the ongoing water shortage, the Sarpanch and the tree volunteers managed to strategically divide the village’s water resources so the trees could survive and grow.

This level of planning and commitment is something truly worth learning from.

If every village could grow at least 25,000 trees, the entire ecosystem of the region would begin to change—especially in terms of the environment.

We just hope more people wake up to this cause.

અમારા ગામમાં વૃક્ષો વાવવા છે

ગ્રામજનો સાથે એક બેઠક રાખી વાત કરીએ. ગ્રામજનો સૌ જવાબદારી સાથે આ કાર્ય કરવા તૈયાર થાય તો આપણે ચોક્કસ વૃક્ષો વાવીશું.

બનાસકાંઠાના વાતડાઉગામના આગેવાન શ્રી ભેમાભાઈ રબારી સાથે અમારી આ વાત થઈ ને એમણે ગ્રામજનો સાથે બેઠક આયોજીત કરી. બેઠકમાં સૌએ ગામમાં પીવાનું પાણી મેળવવામાં તકલીફ છે ત્યાં વૃક્ષો તો કેવી રીતે થાય એવી વાત કરી. 

અમે પણ નથી કરવું એમ નક્કી કર્યું. પણ સરપંચ શ્રીએ કહ્યું, હું ગમે રીતે પાણીની વ્યવસ્થા કરીશ, એક વખત ભરોષો કરો. અમે વિશ્વાસ કર્યો. 4000 વૃક્ષો આદરણીય અશ્વિનભાઈ કોઠારી વિનરો કોર્મશિયલ ઈન્ડિયા લિ.અ કંપનીની મદદથી વાવ્યા. વૃક્ષો વવાયા પછી વૃક્ષો સરસ થયા છે એના રીપોર્ટ મળ્યા કરે પણ રૃબરૃ જવાનું નહોતું થયું.

હમણાં રાજસ્થાનમાં અમે જળસંચયના કાર્યો શરૃ કર્યા. બાડમેરથી પરત ફરતા હતા ત્યાં અમારા કાર્યકર નારણભાઈએ કહ્યું, દીદી આપણે વાતડાઉ જઈ આવ્યા. 4000 વૃક્ષો ગયા વર્ષે વાવ્યા હતા તે અને આ વર્ષે બીજા 10,000 વૃક્ષો વાવી રહ્યા છીએ એ જોઈ લઈએ.

એ પછી વાતડાઉ પહોંચ્યા ને ગયા વર્ષે છેક દિવાળી ઉપર વાવેલા વૃક્ષોનો ઉછેર જોઈને રાજી થયો. વૃક્ષમિત્ર તેમજ સરપંચ શ્રી અને ગામના કેટલાક જાગૃત વ્યક્તિઓની કાળજીના કારણે વૃક્ષો સરસ ઉછરી રહ્યા હતા. 

પાણીની તકલીફ છે પણ વૃક્ષમિત્ર અને સરપંચ શ્રીએ સૂઝબૂઝથી ગામના પાણીનું વિભાજન કર્યું જેના કારણે વૃક્ષો ઉછરી શક્યા. મારા ખ્યાલથી આ શીખવા જેવી વાત. 

દરેક ગામમાં ઓછામાં ઓછા 25,000 વૃક્ષો ઉછરે તો વિસ્તારની આખી તાસીર ખાસ કરીને પર્યાવરણને લઈને બદલાઈ જાય. બસ સૌ જાગે એમ ઈચ્છીએ..
