"Farmers earlier used bullocks for agriculture activity. We used to deal in bullocks. Take them to the village & go to the village head (Sarpanch) for his permission to stay overnight. The permission was normally given. We used to move around with the bullocks for some days and then return. But now farmers have started using small tractors. Bullocks are not required. So for daily living we now move around to do labour work & do whatever work is available."

This is the story of a Saraniya families in Bagsara Village of Amreli District.

The temporary dwellings of the Saraniya & Gadaliya family are clearly marked and these 104 families spend the monsoon there.  As soon as monsoon is over they pack their meagre belongings in the cart and start to move in search of their livelihood.

It is the desire of these families to own their house. That would give them some relief from  the strenuous life of moving around all the time. We came in touch with these families many years back. Shri Devchandbhai of Bagasara village used to work with the farmers and nomads in this area. He called us to help get the identity papers for these families,

He also requested us to put one VSSM colleague there to help them. We asked our Rameshbhai to stay put there. Rameshbhai is a very sensitive & noble human. He won the confidence of the villagers and was able to get the aadhaar cards for them. He also applied for the plot of land for these 104 families. Government allotted the plot. Under the Prime Minister Housing  Plan, Rs 3.5 lakhs is available for which we tried and it was sanctioned with the help of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel. These families will now get their permanent homes.

When we went there to meet these 104 families, they showed their identity to us. They also requested us to fund them for building their homes. This we would obviously do.

One young girl, Puri, said very beautifully that now "we will have our own homes with light & water. We will also buy a washing machine, fridge & TV and for that we will work hard. Until now we had no base so we only could see all these in others homes. Now we will have it of our own" 

All families are very happy. For many centuries these families had no base now they have an address of their own. That makes us happy too.

ખેતીકામમાં પહેલાં બળદો વપરાતા. આ બળદોની ખપત અમે પુરી કરતા. એટલે જ ગામે ગામ ફરતા. કોઈ પણ ગામના પાદરમાં ગાડા ઊભા રાખી સરપંચની રજા લેવા જાઈયે તો સરપંચ કે ગામ આશરો દેવાની પહેલાં ના નો પાડતા. અમેય થોડા દિવસો બળદોના સાડા ટોઢા કરીને વયા જાતા. પણ હવે સનેડા આવ્યા.'

'સનેડા?'

'નાના ટ્રેક્ટર, એટલે ઢાંઢાની જરૃર નો રહી.. હવે જે મજૂરી મળે એ મજૂરી કરવા હાતર ફરીયે..'

અમરેલીના બગસરાના સરાણિયા પરિવારોની આ વાત.

સરાણિયા અને ગાડલિયા પરિવારની કામચલાઉ વસાહત એકદમ ચોખ્ખી. જ્યાં 104 પરિવારો ચોમાસુ પસાર કરે. જેવું ચોમાસુ પતે કે સૌ પોત પોતાના ગાડાં ભરીને નીકળી પડે રોજીરોટીની શોધમાં.

આ પરિવારોની ઈચ્છા પોતાનું પાક્કુ ઘર, સ્થાયી સરનામુ થાય એવી. વર્ષો પહેલાં આ પરિવારો અમારા સંપર્કમાં આવ્યા. બગસરામાં દેવચંદભાઈ સાવલિયા ખેડૂતો અને વંચિતો સાથે કામ કરે. એમણે આ પરિવારોને ઓળખના આધારો કઢાવી આપવા અમને બોલાવ્યા. ને એમની ઈચ્છા VSSMના એક કાર્યકરને અહીંયા મુકાય તો બગસરા આસપાસની વસાહતોમાં વિચરતી જાતિઓના કાર્યો થાય એવી.

અમે કાર્યકર રમેશભાઈને ત્યાં મુક્યા. રમેશભાઈ એકદમ ઋજુહદ્યના. એણે આ બધા પરિવારોનો સરસ વિશ્વાસ જીત્યો અને આધાર પુરાવાના સરસ કાર્યો કર્યા. 104 પરિવારોને પ્લોટ મળે તે માટેની દરખાસ્ત અમે કરી અને આ પરિવારોને સરકારે પ્લોટ ફાળવ્યા. મકાન બાંધવા પ્રધાનમંત્રી આવાસ યોજના અંતર્ગત 3.5 લાખ મળે તે માટે અમે પ્રયત્નો કર્યા અને મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી ભુપેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલની મદદથી તેમની આ સહાય મંજૂર થઈ. હવે આ પરિવારોના ઘરો બંધાશે.

હમણાં આ પરિવારોને મળવા ખાસ ગયા તો બધાયે પોતાની સનદ બતાવી. સાથે મકાન બાંધવા જરૃરી શરૃઆતી રકમ તમે આપો એવી પણ વિનંતી કરી. એ બધુ તો કરવાનું જ હોય તે કરીશું.

વસાહતની એક છોકરી પૂરી એણે સરસ કહ્યું, 'અમારા ઘર થશે એમાં લાઈટ, પાણી થશે. અમારેય ટીવી, ફ્રીજ, વોશીંગ મશીન બધુયે કરવું છે. મહેનત કરીશું ને એ બધુ લઈશું. અત્યાર સુધી ઠેકાણું નહોતું એટલે આ બધુ બીજાના ઘરોમાં જોતા પણ હવે અમે અમારા ઘર માટે આ બધુ કરીશું.'

બધા પરિવારો ખુબ રાજી.. સરકારનો ઘણો આભાર. સદીઓથી વિચરણ કરતા આ પરિવારો હવે સરનામાં વાળા થ્યા એનો રાજીપો..

"Our relationship with our huts is like that of a mud-stone & a leaf"

Shri Maheshbhai from Rafareshwar village in Morbi District said this. We could not understand what he meant so we asked him to explain what he meant. . He said that mud-stone & leaf are always together.

They are like close friends. One cannot do without the other. When wind blows with strength, the mudstone sits on the leaf and saves the leaf. When it rains, the leaf sits on the mud-stone & saves the  mud-stone.

However, when there is a thunderstorm with rain neither can save the other. Our relationship with our huts is like that. When it rains, it saves us and when there is a strong wind we hold the ropes of the hut tightly and save the hut.

But when there is a thunderstorm with rain neither of us can protect the other.

Maheshbhai enumerated this disastrous anecdote with a laugh. For years these families stay in huts in the outskirts of Morbi. In the hope that one day they will get a permanent place to stay they continue to dwell there. 

However they have no resources to buy the land nor do they have any idea how to go about getting the benefits from the government.

We at VSSM noticed their plight. Our colleagues and co-workers, Kanubhai & Chhayaben helped prepare their application for land for constructing houses on it. However the plot allotment was not happening.  CM Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel is very sympathetic & helpful towards the work we are doing. With his instructions & collector's support allotment happened. In Jambudiya village 119 families will benefit from it. Their happiness could not be hidden. They will now get a proper roof over their heads. However, people from nearby places have put pressure on administration to not allot the plot.The dream to own houses seem to remain a dream for these people.We are making a strong representation to the collector and other officers not to obstruct and grant permission at the earliest. We are hopeful that we get an affirmative reply from the admin soon.

I will definitely tell the people from Jambudiya who are objecting that it is very wrong to claim ownership of land which has been rightfully allotted to these homeless people.

I earnestly wish that these nomads soon get this land for their houses.

'ઢેફા અને પાંદડાને એકબીજા હારે જેવો સંબંધ અમારે એવો સંબંધ અમારા ઝૂંપડા હારે!'

મોરબીના રફાળેશ્વરના મહેશભાઈએ અમને આ વાત કરી. જો કે અમને આ મોઘમ વાત સમજાણી નહીં. અમે એમને ઢેફુ અને પાંદડાની વાત સમજાવવા કહ્યું ત્યારે એમણે કહ્યું, પાંદડુ અને ઢેફુ જોડાજોડ રહે બેયને જબરી દોસ્તી. પવન જબરો ફૂંકાય ત્યારે ઢેફુ પાંદડા પર બેસી જાય અને પાંદડાને બચાવે અને વરસાદ વરસે ત્યારે પાંદડુ ઢેફા પર બેસી જાય ને ઢેફાને બચાવે. પણ જ્યારે વાવાઝાડો સાથે વરસાદ આવે ત્યારે બેમાંથી એકેય એકબીજાને બચાવી ન શકે. 

અમારો સંબંધ આ ઝૂંપડાં હારે એવો. વરસાદ આવે ત્યારે ઝૂંપડુ અમને બચાવે. પવન આવે ત્યારે ઝૂંપડાના દોરડા પકડી અમે બેસી જઈએ અને ઝૂંપડાને અમે બચાવીએ પણ જ્યારે વાવાઝોડા હારે વરસાદ આવે ત્યારે અમે બેય એકબીજાને બચાવી ન શકીએ. આ અમારી જિંદગી..'

વિપદાની વાત મહેશભાઈએ હસતા હસતા કહી. વર્ષોથી આ પરિવારો ઝૂંપડા બાંધી મોરબી આસપાસના વિસ્તારોમાં રહે. પોતાને કાયમી જગ્યા મળે જ્યાંથી કોઈ એમને ખાલી ન કરાવે એવી મેળવવાની આશા વર્ષોની પણ એ ખરીદવાની ક્ષમતા નહીં. સરકાર ગરીબ પરિવારોને પ્લોટ આપે પણ એ માટે શું કરવું એ સમજાય નહીં.

VSSM ના ધ્યાને આ પરિવારો આવ્યા. અમારા કાર્યકર કનુભાઈ, છાયાબહેને તેમને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ મળે તે માટેની અરજીઓ તૈયાર કરી કચેરીમાં આપી.

પણ પ્લોટ ફાળવણીનું કાર્ય થાય નહીં. રાજ્યના મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી ભુપેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલ અમારા કાર્યોમાં ખુબ લાગણી રાખે. મદદ પણ કરે. તેમની સૂચનાથી અને કલેક્ટર શ્રીની લાગણીથી 119 પરિવારોને જાંબુડિયામાં રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફળવાયા. 

આ પરિવારોનો હરખ સમાતો નહોતો. હવે અમે પાક્કા ઘરવાળા થાશું એ સમણું એ જોવા માંડ્યા. ત્યાં એમણે જે જગ્યા ફળવાઈ ત્યાં આજુબાજુના લોકોએ દબાણ કરી દીધાનું જાણ્યું.

પોતાના ઘરનું સમણું રોળાતુ આ પરિવારોને જણાઈ રહ્યું છે. અમે કલેકટર શ્રી તેમજ સંલગ્ન તમામ અધિકારીઓને આ બાબત ધ્યાને લઈ જમીનનો કબજો આપવા રજૂઆત કરી છે. આશા રાખીએ હકારાત્મક પરિણામ મળે.

અને જાંબુડિયાની જમીન પર દબાણ કરનાર લોકોને પણ કોઈને મળેલા આશરા પર પોતાનો હક ખોટી રીતે દર્શાવવો એ ધરમ નથી એવું ચોક્કસ કહીશ. 

વર્ષોથી વગડો ખૂંદતા પરિવારોને પોતાની જમીન સત્વરે મળે તેવું ઈચ્છીએ...

“It was nine o clock in the evening when my phone rang. I answered the call; it was 75-year-old Natukaka from Visnagar on the other side of the phone. “what is this you keep promising? I have been listening to you telling us that we will receive plots, but you cannot even move a mole. How will you get us the plots? Stop giving us  false hope.”

“Kaka, what is the matter?”

“Why, what happened? Don’t you know I have spent my entire life wandering with my belongings? I had hoped to receive a plot, stay in a pucca house of my own, but you have done nothing to fulfil the hope.”

“Kaka, I can only put in the effort. Allotting plots is not in my power. It is the government’s job to give you a plot.”

“Rubbish…” and kaka continued to shower abuses!!!

When I spoke to Tohid about receiving the call, he immediately wanted to talk to Natukaka. I asked him not to. I can comprehend Natukaka’s frustration; he feels we can get the plot allotted to him and yet are doing nothing is also understandable.

Also, his desire to live in his own house before he bids goodbye to this life seems like a distant possibility. It is bound to make him frustrated and angry.

Natukaka must have met me many times after this episode, apologizing each time for his angry outpour. “It is your right to get angry, Kaka.” I would tell him each time.

VSSM’s Tohid appealed to the district collector’s office for allotting plots to Natukaka and other 121 families living in Mehsana’s Visnagar.

After years and years of efforts and interventions of a compassionate minister Shri Hrishikeshbhai Patel and the district administration, especially the collector, have resulted in the allotment of plots for these families. The families received documents to their plots in the presence of Minister Shri Hrishikeshbhai,  Education Minister (state level) Shri Kirtisinhji Vaghela, Additional Collector and other leaders.

Once the plots are allotted, we begin filing applications for housing aid. The families will receive government aid of Rs. 1.20 lacs, an amount that is not enough to build a decent house under the current construction costs. Hence, VSSM will also mobilize funds to help these families build their homes and move into a settlement built with love.

VSSM’s Tohid has put in massive efforts to ensure these families receive plots. The Visnagar administration has also played a very proactive role in this effort, for which we will always be grateful. 

એક દિવસ રાતના 9 વાગે મારા ફોનની ઘંટડી વાગી. મે ફોન ઉપાડ્યો ને સામે હતા વીસનગરના 75 વર્ષીય નટુકાકા. એમણે સીધું જ કહ્યું,

'આ તમે હું મોડ્યું હ્.. પલોટ મલશે મલશે એવું તમે ચાન્ના ક્યો હો.. પણ તમારાથી તો સેચ્યો પાપડેય ભંગાતો નહીં. પલોટ ચમના આલશો. ખોટી ખોટી આશાઓ વતાડવાનું બંધ કરો..'

'પણ કાકા થ્યું શું?'

'ચમ હું થ્યું.. તમન નઈ ખબર હુ થ્યું.. મારી આખી જીંદગી લબાચા લઈન રખડવામોં જઈ. મન હતું તમે પલોટ અલાવશો. મરતા પેલા એક વાર માર મારા પાક્કા ઘરમો રેવું'તું પણ તમે કોય ના કર્યું'

'પણ કાકા મારા હાથમાં પ્રયત્ન છે પ્લોટ આપવાનું કામ સરકારનું ને અમે પ્રયત્નો તો કરીએ છીએ..'

'એ બધી વાતો' એમ કહીને કાકા ઘણું અનાપ સનાપ બોલ્યા.. 

મે જ્યારે અમારા કાર્યકર તોહીદને આ વાત કરી તો એણે કહ્યું, હમણાં જ નટુકાકાને કહુ પણ મે ના પાડી.. એમનો ગુસ્સો વ્યાજબી એમને એમ છે કે આ બધુ તો આપણે કરી જ શકીએ છતાં કરતા નથી... 

વળી એમને મરતા પહેલાં પોતાના ઘરમાં જવું છે ને એ આશા એમને દેખાતી નથી એટલે ગુસ્સો કરે..

ખેર એ પછી તો નટુકાકા અવાર નવાર મળ્યા ને દર વખતે બેન તમને અનાપ સનાપ બોલ્યો માફ કરો એમ કહે ને દર વખતે હું તમારો અધિકાર છે કાકા એમ કહુ..

નટુકાકા ને એમના જેવા મહેસાણાના વીસનગરમાં રહેતા  121 પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ મળે તે માટે અમારા તોહીદે VSSM  ના માધ્મથી  કલેક્ટર કચેરીમાં રજૂઆત કરી. 

ઘણા વર્ષોની મહેતન અને આદરણીય મંત્રી શ્રી ઋષીકેશભાઈ પટેલ તેમજ મહેસાણા વહીવટીતંત્ર ખાસ કરીને કલેક્ટર શ્રીની લાગણીના લીધે આ પરિવારોને વીસનગર ગ્રામ્યમાં પ્લોટ ફળવાયા. આ બધાને ઋષીકેશભાઈ તેમજ આદરણીય શ્રી કીર્તીસીંહજી વાઘેલા શિક્ષણમંત્રી (રાજ્યકક્ષા), તેમજ પ્રાંત કલેક્ટર શ્રીની હાજરીમાં પ્લોટની સનદો આપવામાં આવી. 

સરકારની યોજના અંતર્ગત તેમના ઘર બાંધવા 1.20 લાખ મળશે પણ આટલી રકમથી ઘર ન બંધાય. આ માટે vssm પણ મદદ કરશે ને વ્યક્તિ પોતે પણ પોતાનાથી થાય તે રકમ ઉમેરશે. આમ સહિયારા પ્રયાસથી સરસ ઘર બંધાશે ને સૌ વગડાંમાંથી વહાલપની વસાહતમાં જશે..

આ પરિવારોને પ્લોટ ફળવાય તે માટે અમારા તોહીદની સતત દોડાદોડી.. સાથે વિસનગર વહીવટીતંત્રનો પણ સહયોગ આપના આ સહીયારા પ્રયાસ માટે આભારી છીએ..

Whom would you call a good officer?

A  question I get frequently asked while speaking a public lectures. “One who is interested in public welfare, one who does not procrastinate progress behind the tangles of rules and regulations, but makes progress  possible even within the limiting rules and regulations,” remains my response.

The government has allotted residential plot to 159 nomadic families of Gondal. The next step was to begin construction on the same. Social Welfare officer Pandya Saheb is as compassionate as Aal Saheb. Both the officers had realised that the government aid of Rs. 1.20 lakhs is not enough for construction of a decent house.

Aal Saheb asked us to construct the houses of these families.

VSSM had bitter experience of constructing 65 houses at Rajkot’s Rampara Beti. The settlement had no facility for water. Despite our repeated appeals to the concerned authorities, they did not act. As a result, VSSM had to spend Rs. 5.30 lacs on water alone. Apart from this the efforts we had to put in to change the documents of  identity and proofs have tired us. The construction of sanitation units can be accomplished  under the MNREGA, but that too cannot be availed at Rampara Beti.

As a result of the above mentioned challenges we have far exceeded our construction budget in Rampara Beti. What if we experience similar challenges at Gondal?

We shared about these challenges with Shri Rajesh Aal sir, following which he immediately put his team to action. The Block development officer, Mamlatdar and all the concerned officials were summoned where he shared the intention of supporting construction of houses for these 159 families and instructed  to accomplish the task within the stipulated time frame. He directed the officials to provide power and water connections within 10 days and to level the land within the same time frame too. Aal sir also expressed the need to bring in  other well-wishers to contribute to the cause so as to build a strong house at the first instance.

Such compassionate officials are rare to find, I salute his sentiments towards the marginalised. No one is ever bothered to find if the houses were ever constructed on the allotted plots or to check the difficulties the families face as they begin to construct their houses.

If each official begins to work as Aal Saheb and Pandya Saheb, it is for sure that this county would not have a single homeless family.

As I began to leave after meeting the families who had been allotted the plots, a lady walks up to me and says, “Ben, we live in huts made with jute roofs. Summers are endured but it is a challenge to pass winters and monsoons. Kindly ensure that our houses are built as soon as possible. I am a rag picker but will pay Rs. 10,000 towards the construction of my house. Such amazing sentiments under such difficult living conditions.

We are grateful to the officials of Gondal for being instrumental in ensuring these families have a roof over their heads.

Almighty is definitely pleased with your gesture. May it inspire other officials to take such initiatives…

અચ્છા અધિકારી કોને કહેશો? 

મોટાભાગે વ્યાખ્યાન આપવા જવું ત્યારે લોકો દ્વારા આ પ્રશ્ન અચુક પુછવામાં આવે ને હું કહુ, જેમને પ્રજાના કલ્યાણમાં રસ હોય જે ફલાણા ને ઢીંકણા નિયમો બતાવી કાર્ય ટાળવાની જગ્યાએ નિયમોને લોકોને અનુકુળ પડે તેવા બનાવે તે મારે મન અચ્છા અધિકારી...

આવા અચ્છા અધિકારીનો આજે પરિચય કરાવું.. વાત છે ગોંડલના પ્રાંત કલેક્ટર શ્રી રાજેશ આલ સાહેબની..

ગોંડલમાં વિચરતી જાતિના 159 પરિવારોને સરકારે રહેવા પ્લોટ ફાળવ્યા.  હવે વાત આવી મકાન બાંધવાની.. સમાજ કલ્યાણ અધિકારી પંડ્યા સાહેબ પણ આલ સાહેબ જેવા જ લાગણીવાળા. તેમણે અને આલ સાહેબે જોયું કે સરકાર મકાન બાંધવા 1.20 લાખ રૃપિયાની સહાય પ્રત્યેક પરિવારને કરે પણ તેમાં ઘર બાંધવું મુશ્કેલ. 

આલ સાહેબે અમને આ પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધવાનું કામ માથે લેવા કહ્યું... 

રાજકોટના રામપરા બેટીમાં 65 વિચરતી જાતિના પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધવાના અનુભવો કડવા હતા. રામપરાબેટી વસાહતમાં પાણીની વ્યવસ્થા નહોતી 

તંત્રમાં રજૂઆત કરી છતાં કોઈ વ્યવસ્થા નહીં એટલે અમારે 5.30 લાખથી વધુ ખર્ચ પાણી પાછળ કરવો પડ્યો. આ સિવાય લોકોના આધાર પુરાવા બદલાવવા જે મહેનત કરવી પડી તે થકવાડી નાખે એવી.. 

વળી શૌચાલય ને મનરેગા અંતર્ગત પણ મકાન બાંધકામમાં મદદ મળે પણ આ બધુ રામપરાબેટીમાં અમે હજુયે મેળવી નથી શક્યા.. 

અમે ઘર બાંધકામમાં મદદ કરવાનું નક્કી કરેલું તેના કરતાં ખર્ચ અનેક ગણો વધ્યો..આવું ગોંડલમાં થાય તો?

રાજેશ આલ સાહેબ સામે આ બધી વાત કરી... ને એમણે તુરત એમની ટીમને કામે લગાડી. તાલુકા વિકાસ અધિકારીથી લઈને મામલતદાર શ્રી, નગરપાલિકા ને અન્ય લાગતા વળતા સૌને બોલાવી તેમણે 159 પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધકામમાં આપણે મદદરૃપ થવાનું છે એ ભાવના વ્યક્ત કરી ને સૌ અધિકારીઓને સમયમર્યાદામાં કાર્ય પૂર્ણ કરવા આદેશ આપ્યો. જમીનનું લેવલીંગ, પાણી અને લાઈટ તો દસેક દિવસમાં પહોંચાડી દેવાનું એમણે અધિકારીઓને કહ્યું... એ સિવાય મકાન સહાયમાં અન્ય સ્જનોને જોડવાનું એમણે કહ્યું જેથી મજબૂત ઘર બંધાય....

આવી ઉમદાભાવના વાળા અધિકારીઓ બહુ જુજ છે... તેમની આ લાગણીને સલામ કરુ છુ. બાકી પ્લોટ ને મકાન સહાય આપ્યા પછી કોઈ એ મકાન પૂર્ણ થયા કે નહીં તે જોવા જતું નથી અથવા વ્યક્તિ મકાન પુર્ણ નથી કરી શકતો તો કારણ તપાસવાનું થતું નથી...

આલ સાહેબ, પંડ્યાસાહેબની જેમ દરેક અધિ્કારી કામ કરવા માંડે તો આ દેશમાં ઘરવગરનો એક માણસ ન રહે એ નક્કી...

જેમને પ્લોટ ફળવાયા તેમની સાથે વાત કરીને હું નીકળી રહી હતી ત્યારે એક બહેને આવીને કહ્યું, બેન કંતાનના છાપરામાં રહીએ. ઉનાળો તો નીકળી જાય પણ ચોમાસુ ને શિયાળો કાઢવો બહુ કપરો.. તમે ઝટ ઘર બાંધવાનું કરજો. હું કાગળ વિણીને પણ મારુ ઘર બાંધવા તમને દસ હજાર આપીશ...કેવી સ્થિતિને કેવી ભાવના....

આવા પરિવારોને ઘર આપવામાં ગોંડલ અધિકારીગણ નિમિત્ત બનવાના.. આપ સૌનો ઘણો આભાર... 

કુદરત તમારી આ પહેલ માટે ખુબ રાજી થશે...ને તમારી આ પહેલથી અન્ય અધિકારીઓ શીખે એમ ઈચ્છીશ...

‘Ben, can you help us with the gas stove and LPG cylinder for the beautiful homes you have helped us build. The shoot from the wood-fired chulas will blacken the walls of our brand new kitchens; also, it would look so much better if the settlement had pucca road passing through it. Can you put a request to the government?” Naviben, who for the first time in her life, will experience a pucca home.

VSSM, with the help of its well-wishing donors and government, has created one more settlement and built houses for 65 marginalised and homeless families. The thought that the families should have access to clean drinking water, made us write to WASMO. As a result, following the Chief Minister’s orders, the government has spent Rs. 19 lacs on building a fifty-thousand-litre tank at the settlement. Our well-wishing friend Shri Piyushbhai Kothari donated the community contribution for the tank. We are grateful to the government for the timely sanctions.

The construction of sanitation blocks is also underway in the settlement. We have sought government assistance and have written to the officials but are yet to receive any positive response. VSSM is spending around Rs. 25000 on each unit, yet we have not met the government guidelines, according to the officials. VSSM’s construction standards equal private construction levels, yet such response…

There is also the pending issues of construction of roads through the settlement; hopefully, the problems will be resolved soon, and we can provide a glorious housewarming to these 65 families of Sanjivani Society …

We want the families of this settlement to realise their potential by moving into a well-made house with basic amenities. Hopefully, the government expedites the pending issues of road and sanitation units.

વાત છે રાજકોટના રામપરાબેટીની..

'બેન અમારા ઘર તો સરસ બાંધ્યા પણ અમને ગેસનો બાટલો ને સગડી અપાવવામાં મદદ કરજો નહીં તો અમારા રસોડા કાળા પડી જશે.... અને આ આખી વસાહતમાં રોડ બની જાય તો આખી વસાહત કેવી સુંદર બની જાય તે એ માટે તમે સરકારમાં કેજો ને...'

જિંદગીમાં આમ તો પેઢીઓમાં પહેલીવાર પોતાનું ઘર જેમણે જોયું છે જેમાં એ રહેવા જવાના છે તેવા નવીબહેને આ કહ્યું..

65 પરિવારોના ઘર અમે સરકાર અને vssm સાથે સંકળાયેલા સ્વજનોની મદદથી બાંધ્યા.. વસાહતમાં રહેવા આવનાર માણસોને પીવાના પાણીની તકલીફ ન પડે તે માટે વાસ્મો સંસ્થાને રજૂઆત કરાતા ને મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીના આદેશના કારણે પચાસ હજાર લીટરની ટાંકી 19 લાખના ખર્ચે સરકારે બાંધી. આ ટાંકી માટે લોકફાળો અમારા પિયુષભાઈ કોઠારીએ ભર્યો. સરકારનો આ માટે આભાર..

વસાહતમાં ટોયલેટનું કામ ચાલુ છે. અધિકારીને આ ટોયલેટ માટે સરકારી સહાય મળે તે માટે રજૂઆત કરી પણ એમનો જવાબ નથી મળ્યો. અમે એક ટોયલેટના બાંધકામ પાછળ ઓછામાં ઓછો 25000 થી વધુ ખર્ચ કર્યો છે. છતાં એમના કહેવા પ્રમાણે અમે સરકારના ધારાધોરણ પ્રમાણે કામ નથી કર્યું. 

કેટલું મજબૂત કામ કર્યું છે છતાં ધારાધોરણ?

વળી વસાહત વચ્ચે રોડ રસ્તાના પ્રશ્નો પણ છે.. એ બધુ સત્વરે ઠીક થાય તો આ સંજીવની સોસાયટીમાં રહેવા આવનાર 65 પરિવારોનો ભવ્ય ગૃહ પ્રવેશ કરાવી શકાય... 

આ વસાહત આ સમુદાયની આગવી ઓળખ બનવાની... સરકાર પણ વસાહતમાં રોડ રસ્તા બનાવવામાં આગળ આવે ને ટોયલેટ માટે મદદ કરે તેમ ઈચ્છીએ....

The Kangasiya families of Rajkot survive under conditions the shared images depict. When we first came in their contact, they possessed no identity proof. With the support VSSM provided and compassion, the officials showed they could acquire identity proof.

The pressing issue was to help them obtain residential plots. Our Prime Minister has pledged to provide housing to all by 2022.

 “Ben, when will we have a place to call our own, a place we will not ask to vacate?” the families invariably inquired whenever I visited them.

VSSM has helped file applications along with an appeal to the district collector of Rajkot with a request to expedite the allotment. We would also like to request the ever-supportive respected Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani to kindly help us with this matter. 

રાજકોટના કુવાળવાગામમાં કાંગસિયા સમુદાયના પરિવારો ફોટોમાં દેખાય એ હાલમાં રહે.

આ પરિવારોને અમે પહેલીવાર મળ્યા ત્યારે એમની પાસે ઓળખના એકેય આધારો નહોતા. અમે મદદ કરી અધિકારીએ લાગણી રાખી એટલે આધારો તો થઈ ગયા.

હવે મુખ્ય મુદ્દો તેમને સ્થાયી રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ મળે તે. 

આપણા વડાપ્રધાન શ્રીનું સ્વપ્ન 2022 સુધીમાં ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારોને ઘર આપવાનું. 

જ્યારે પણ આ પરિવારોની વસાહતમાં જવું ત્યારે પુછાતો પ્રશ્ન બેન ક્યારે અમને અમારી જગ્યા મળશે જ્યાંથી અમને કોઈ ખાલી ન કરાવે. 

રાજકોટ કલેક્ટર શ્રીને પ્લોટ ફાળવવા અરજી તેમજ દરખાસ્ત કરી દીધી છે. બસ તેમને ઝટ પ્લોટ ફળવાય તે માટે વિનંતી... 

આદરણીય મુખ્યમંત્રીશ્રી વિજયભાઈ પણ અમારા કાર્યમાં ઘણી મદદ કરે તેમને પણ આ બાબતે મદદરૃપ થવા વિનંતી...

Our salutes to Maganbhai Desai, Sarpanch of Morpa village.

The reigns of development of any village lie in the hands of its Sarpanch. The nature of our work provides us with many opportunities to interact with many Sarpanchs, some of whom win our admiration. Recently, we happen to meet Maganbhai Desai, the sarpanch of Patan’s Morpa village.

VSSM had helped file applications for allotment of residential plots for 7 Raval families living in shanties around the village. In the recent  Land Committee meetup the plots were approved. It was the proactiveness of the Sarpanch that resulted in the approval. It is always a pleasure to meet such committed and compassionate individuals. 

‘Ben, I am always ready to assist you in this noble cause of welfare of the poor communities. I will speak for them where ever you ask me to ensure they receive help to settle down at one place in a house with power connection,”  he shared when recently I had the opportunity to meet. Him. Very few Sarpach are empathetic towards the needs of the poor families of their village. Even the marginalised families I met has tremendous respect for Maganbhai. 

I have come across many who never have anything good to say about their Sarpanch. When the village leader remains distant towards the basic needs of the poor in the village, the struggling families never appreciate their leaders. No one likes to be critical of good actions, right? 

There are three villages in Patan,(I will refrain from naming them) whose leadership decided to overlook the applications despite  District Collector’s order to approve the applications during the land committee meetup, the sarpanch did not raise the matter of plot allocations at the meeting. 

Just like the collector is the king of her/his district, the Sarpanch reigns supreme in the village. They should wholeheartedly grab these opportunities of being helpful to others, the lesser fortunate. It pains us when we come across sarpanchs who demand percentage from the government assistance for deepening of village lakes or other public works. 

But, Sarapnch like Maganbhai give us hope, they are the reason the poor in the village can hope for a better life. Salute to Maganbhai who is trying his best to ensure the homeless Raval families soon acquire an address.  Great applause also to VSSM’s team member Mohanbhai, who work tirelessly to find such nomadic families and link them to the social security net.

મોરપાગામના સરપંચ મગનભાઈ દેસાઈને સલામ...

સરપંચ ગામના વિકાસની મુખ્ય ધુરા જેના હાથમાં છે એ વ્યક્તિ..

ગ્રામવિકાસના કાર્યો કરતા હોવાના નાતે અમારે ઘણા સરપંચોને મળવાનું થાય.. જેમાંના કેટલાક માટે તો વિશેષ માન થાય એવા...

આવા જ એક સરપંચને હમણાં મળવાનું થયું. 

પાટણના મોરપાગામના સરપંચ મગનભાઈ દેસાઈ..

ગામમાં ઝૂંપડાં કે કાચા ઘર બાંધીને રહેતા રાવળ સુમદાયના સાત પરિવારોને પ્લોટ મળે તે માટે અમે સરકારમાં રજૂઆત કરેલી તે લેન્ડ કમીટી ભરાઈ એમાં આ પરિવારોના પ્લોટ મંજૂર થયા. 

સરપંચ પોતે સતત ફોલોઅપ લે. આવા જાગૃત સરપંચને મળવું તો ગમે જ. 

મોરપા એમને મળી તો કહે, બેન આ ગરીબ માણસોના કાર્યમાં જ્યાં પણ મારી જરૃર પડે હું કાળી રાતે સાથે. આમને લાઈટ ને રહેવા કાયમી જગ્યા મળે એ માટે તમે કહેશો ત્યાં હું રજૂઆત કરીશ. આવી એમની લાગણી.. બહુ ઓછા સરપંચોમાં આ જોવા મળે. જે વંચિત પરિવારોને હું મળી એમને પણ સરપંચ માટે ખુબ આદરભાવ.. 

બાકી સરપંચો માટે કટુ વાક્ય બોલતા લોકો પણ મે જોયા છે. મૂળ તો એમની આશાઓ પૂર્ણ ન થાય માટે જ આવા કડવા વેણ નીકળે. બાકી કડવું બોલી પોતાનું મોંઢુ ગંધાતુ કરવું કોને ગમે?

બાકી પાટણના ત્રણ બીજા ગામો જેમના નામ નથી લખતી. પણ કલેક્ટર શ્રીએ આદેશ કર્યો કે લેન્ડ કમીટી બેસાડો અને ગામમાં રહેતા ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારોને પ્લોટ આપવાનું એમાં ઠરાવો. આદેશ હતો એટલે લેન્ડ કમીટી બેઠી પણ જેમના પ્લોટની માંગણી કરી હતી તેમનાં પ્લોટની વાત સરપંચે કરી જ નહીં..

કલેક્ટર જિલ્લાનો રાજા, ધણી એમ સરપંચ ગામના...કુદરતે સતકર્મો કરવાનો મોકો આપ્યો છે.. મારા ખ્યાલથી આ અમૂલ્યતક છે એમ માનીને એને ઝડપી લેવી જોઈએ એની જગ્યાએ આમનું ના થવું જોઈએ.. કે ક્યાંક તળાવના કામોમાં તો અમને કેટલા મળશે એવું સરપંચ પુછે ત્યારે બહુ દુઃખ થાય..

ખેર મોરપાના સરપંચ જેવા ઘણા આશાસ્પદ છે.. અને એ લોકોના લીધે જ વિકાસના કાર્યો થાય છે એય હકીકત.. મગનભાઈને સલામ ને જેમને પોતાનું સરનામુ મળ્યું એવા રાવળ પરિવારો માટે સુખી થાવની ભાવના... 

આ વિસ્તારના અમારા સંનિષ્ઠ કાર્યકર મોહનભાઈ જેઓએ આ પરિવારને શોધ્યા તેમની વાત અમારા સુધી પહોંચાડી..

મોરપા ગઈ ત્યારે સરપંચને, જેમને પ્લોટ મળ્યા તે પરિવારોને મળવાનું થયું તે અને આ પરિવારોની હાલની રહેણાંકની સ્થિતિ બધુયે ફોટોમાં.

 How much to write?

A settlement file is filled with reminders.

A notice was issued in 2015 to vacate the roofs of 44 Bawri families in Ramdevnagar, Ahmedabad, which were obstructed in the TP scheme. The corporation, in return, arranged for permanent residence. Allotted houses in Vejalpur. But the beneficiary had to contribute for these houses. Those whose houses or roofs are broken were not able to make this contribution.

We presented this matter to Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani as well as Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Ishwarbhai Parmar in this regard. He said that the government would immediately pay the contribution and the developing caste welfare department wrote letters to the Ahmedabad corporation.

Before making a contribution, the welfare department wrote a letter saying that the house should be habitable, that is, fixing the windows and doors and giving the water connection to the flat, as a matter of urgency. But the officials of the corporation are not at all working in this matter. Despite constant follow-up from the office of the Chief Minister as well as the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment!

I went to the commissioner's office with Savitabhan when the roofs were broken in Sabarmati. Savitaben cried and said to the officer, "We have a young daughter with whom to sleep on the sidewalk at night, We both take a turn for sleeping in the night in the fear of If someone presses daughter's mouth and picks her up” 

Have you ever imagined this situation?

Forget about the young girl, there are cases where the lustful men took three-year-old daughter off the roof. Such an incident took place in Savarkundla about eighty months ago.

A house is not just four walls but a safe place. I always tell the officers that you have to just work on behalf of this cause. Such tasks should be done without getting a request. God has given you a chance. You need not have to use a single penny out of your pocket .. still?!

A loving request to the officials of Ahmedabad Corporation to do this work. It remains to be seen whether the people will not sit again in front of the corporation playing dishes and rolling pins.

The dream of our esteemed Prime Minister is to give a home to such homeless people by 2022. This dream is not going to be fulfilled by the authorities until such families get a house. A humble appeal to make it right again.

I would have written a little bitter but I feel tired now. Today our worker asked for permission to open the file of Ramdevnagar Volume-2 in my office. An entire file filled these reminders with letters written in this detail. Felt very bad. 

It is not right for the authorities not to cooperate when the government is sensitively committed to the welfare of such families.

I applaud the fact that the corporation gave houses in Sabarmati, but why is the work not done in Ramdevnagar in the same way? I don't really understand.

કેટલું લખ્યા કરવાનું?

સ્મૃતિપત્રોથી જ એક વસાહતની એક ફાઈલ ભરાઈ ગઈ..

અમદાવાદના રામદેવનગરમાં 44 બાવરી પરિવારોના છપરાં- કાચા ઘરો ટીપી સ્કીમમાં નડતરરૃપ હતા તે ખાલી કરવા 2015માં નોટીસ આવી. બદલામાં કાયમી રહેણાંકની વ્યવસ્થા કોર્પોરેશને કરી. વેજલપુરમાં ઘર ફાળવાયા. પણ લાભાર્થીએ આ ઘર માટે ફાળો ભરવાનો હતો. જેમના ઘર કે છાંપરાં તૂટ્યા એની ક્ષમતા આ ફાળો ભરવાની નહીં.

આદરણીય મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી વિજયભાઈ રૃપાણી તેમજ સામાજિક ન્યાય અને અધિકારીતા મંત્રી શ્રી ઈશ્વરભાઈ પરમાર પાસે આ બાબતે રજૂઆત કરી. એમણે તુરત આ ફાળો સરકાર ભરશે તેમ જણાવ્યું ને એ સબબના પત્રો વિકસતી જાતિ કલ્યાણ ખાતાએ અમદાવાદ કોર્પોરેશનને લખ્યા. કલ્યાણ ખાતાએ ફાળો આપતા પહેલાં ઘર રહેવા લાયક એટલે કે બારી બારણાં ઠીક કરવા ને પાણીનું કનેકશન એ ફ્લેટમાં આપી દેવા ટૂંકમાં પ્રાથમિક સગવડ માટે લખ્યું. પણ કોર્પોરેશનના અધિકારી આ બાબતે હલતા જ નથી.

મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી તેમજ સામાજિક ન્યાય અને અધિકારીતા મંત્રી શ્રીની ઓફીસમાંથી સતત ફોલોઅપ છતાં..

સાબરમતીમાં છાપરાં તોડ્યા તે વેળા સવિતાબહેન સાથે હું કમીશનર કચેરીએ ગયેલી. સવીતાબહેને રડતા રડતા અધિકારીને કહેલું, સાહેબ અમારે જુવાન દીકરી છે જેની સાથે રાતના ફૂટપાથ પર સુવાનું. દીકરીનું મોંઢુ દબાવી કોઈ ઉપાડી જાય તો એ બીકે રાતના અમે બેય માણસ ઊંધવાના વારા કરીએ...

ક્યારેય કલ્પના કરી છે.. આ સ્થિતિની..

આમ તો જુવાન શું કામ હવસખોરો તો ત્રણ વર્ષની દીકરીનેય છાપરાંમાંથી ઉપાડી ગયાના દાખલા છે. સાવરકુંડલામાં લગભગ આઠેક મહિના પહેલાં જ આવી ઘટના ઘટેલી.

ઘર એ માત્ર ચાર દિવાલ નથી. પણ એક સુરક્ષીત જગ્યા છે. અધિકારીગણને હું હંમેશાં કહુ છુ તમારે તો નિમિત્ત બનવાનુ છે. આવા કાર્યો તો સામે ચાલીને કરવા જોઈએ. તમને ભગવાને તક આપી છે. ખીસામાંથી રૃપિયોય કાઢવાનો નથી.. છતાં....અમદાવાદ કોર્પોરેશનના અધિકારીઓને આ કાર્ય કરવા પ્રેમભરી વિનંતી... લોકો થાકીને કોર્પોરેશન સામે થાળી ને વેલણ વગાડવા ફરી ન બેસે તે જોવું રહ્યું..

આપણા આદરણીય વડાપ્રધાન શ્રીનું સ્વપ્ન આવા દિનદુખિયા ઘરવિહોણા લોકોને 2022 સુધીમાં ઘર આપવાનું છે. આ સ્વપ્ન ને અધિકારીઓનો લક્ષાંક આવા પરિવારોને ઘર નહીં મળે ત્યાં સુધી પૂર્ણ થવાનો નથી...

ફરી યોગ્ય કરવા નમ્ર અપીલ...

થોડું કડવું લખ્યું હશે પણ થાક લાગે છે.

આજે મારી ઓફીસમાં રામદેવનગર વોલ્યુમ -2ની ફાઈલ ખોલવાની મંજૂરી અમારા કાર્યકરે માંગી.

એક આખી ફાઈલ આ સ્મૃતિપત્રોને આ વિગતે જ લખાયેલા પત્રોથી ભરાઈ.. દુઃખ થયું..સરકાર સંવેદનાથી આવા પરિવારોના કલ્યાણ માટે કટીબદ્ધ છે ત્યારે અધિકારીગણ સહયોગ ન કરે તે યોગ્ય નથી..

ફરી આ ઠંડીમાં આ પરિવારોને ઝડપથી ઘર આપવા વિનંતી....

સાબરમતીમાં કોર્પોરેશને ઘર આપ્યા તે વાતને હું વધાવું છું.. પણ એ જ કાર્ય પદ્ધતિથી રામદેવનગરમાં કાર્ય કેમ નથી થતું.. ખરેખર સમજાતું નથી..

Oad people are experts in clay work. 

You may have an idea or not, but it is said that when Siddharth Jayasingh announced to clean the Sahastralinga lake of Patan, so many ods landed in Patan to clean that lake and half of the lake was dug in one night!

Well, this is a rumor. I do not want to spend time in finding the truth. 

But Oad people were very important in the life of our great-great-grandfather. There were no cement concrete and brick houses at that time. At that time, Oad came to the village from time to time and used to build mud houses. In short, their relationship with mud is strong and they wandered from village to village for that very reason.

You find hindu and muslim ods. Their dressing style is also same but now it has changed a bit in Muslim Oads. Recently, I had to go to Swagadh in Himmatnagar of Sabarkantha where 29 Oad families live.

Aminbhai said “ the whole life of us has been spent like a donkey. Now we want to settle down but we do not have enough money to build a house. If the government helps, then we might have a house”

Home... 

I always say that there is no definition of this word. All the emotions are absorbed in these four letters. Our Prime Minister has dreamed of giving a home to all such homeless people by 2022. If the officials show sympathy, then it is not difficult to fulfil this dream.

We have asked the families of Swagadh to have faith that they will have their homes. Applications have been submitted. We are desperately waiting for their homes and hope they distribute sweets to us and we all will feel satisfied. 

The glory of finding such families belongs to our Tohid. Angry by nature but also very energetic. That is true that we have such an amazing team that is why we could do this. 

 માટી કામમાં પાવરધા ઓડ..

તમને કદાચ ખ્યાલ હશે કે નહીં... પણ એવું કહેવાય છે કે સિદ્ધારાજ જયસિંહે પાટણનું સહસ્ત્રલીંગ તળાવ ગાળવાનું જાહેર કર્યું, એ તળાવ ગાળવા એટલી માત્રામાં ઓડ પાટણમાં ઊતરી આવ્યા કે એક રાતમાં અડધુ તળાવ ખોદાઈ ગયેલું..

ખેર આ તો વાયકા. આપણે સાચુ જુઠ્ઠુ કરવા ન બેસીએ...

પણ ઓડનું મહત્વ આપણા દાદા પરદાદાના જીવનમાં ઘણું હતું. ત્યારે ક્યાં સીમેન્ટ ક્રોક્રીંટ કે ઈંટોના ઘરો બનાતા..

એ વેળા ઓડ ગામમાં વખતો વખત આવતા ને માટીના ઘરો બનાવી આપવાનું કરતા..ટૂંકમાં માટી સાથેનો એમનો નાતો મજબૂત ને એ ખાતર જ ગામે ગામ રઝળ્યા કર્યું..

ઓડમાં પાછા હિન્દુ ને મુસ્લીમ બેય ઓડ જોવા મળે. પહેરવેશને બધુ પહેલાં તો એક જેવું હવે મુસ્લિમ ઓડનું જરા બદલાયું..

હમણાં સાબરકાંઠાના હિંમતનગરના સવગઢમાં જવાનું થયું ત્યાં 29 ઓડ પરિવારો રહે...

અમીનભાઈએ કહ્યું, અમારા ઘૈડિયાની આખી જીંદગી આમ ગધાડાં માથે જ ગઈ.. હવે ઠરી ઠામ થવું છે પણ જુઓને પાહે પૈસા નથી તે જમીન લઈને ઘર બાંધી હકીએ.. સરકાર માઈ-બાપ મદદ કરે તો અમે ઘરવાળા થઈએ...

ઘર...

હું હંમેશાં કહુ છુ આ શબ્દની કોઈ વ્યાખ્યા જ ન કરી શકાય... બસ બધી જ લાગણીઓ આ બે શબ્દમાં સમાઈ જાય..

આપણા વડાપ્રધાને 2022 સુધીમાં આવા ઘરવિહોણા તમામને ઘર આપવાનું સ્વપ્ન સેવ્યુ છે.. અધિકારી ગણ સંવેદના દાખવે તો આ સ્વપ્ન પૂર્ણ થવું કાંઈ અઘરુ નથી..

સવગઢના પરિવારોને તો અમે ઘર થશે એવી શ્રદ્ધા રાખવાનું કહ્યું છે.. અરજીઓ થઈ ગઈ છે..

બસ હવે કાર્ય ઝટ થાય ને આ લોકો પણ પોતાના ઘરમાંથી ગોળ ઘાણા વેચે એટલે એમને ને અમને બેયને સાતા...

આવા પરિવારોને શોધવાનો જશ અમારા તોહીદને.. આમ ગુસ્સાવાળો પણ મહેનતુ ઘણો....ગમે એની સાથે બાથ ભીડી લે... અમારી પાસે આવી મજાની ટીમ છે એટલે જ આ કાર્યો થાય છે..

એય એટલું જ સાચ્ચુ...

Mittal Patel meets nomadic families of Gandhinagar

Everyone dreams about a house, But the dream does not always come true.

We are the people who have the habit of occupying the seat of a bus by putting a handkerchief on a seat from the window.

Although this practice is acceptable for everyone in the case of a bus, but not for the house!

Nomadic tribes people and other poor families put handkerchiefs on the government-owned land near the Mahatma Temple in Gandhinagar years ago and no one removed it, so they believed that the land belongs to them now, but this is not the seat of the bus!

After 35-50 years of living, suddenly a bulldozer turned up and vanished everything in a second.

Everyone was wondering where to go.

Our worker Tohid and Rizwan and Sanjaybhai, the leader of the colony, together with others, prepared the details of these homeless families. Submitted the details in the Collector's office . Collector assured to find a government place to settle these families.

Home ... I don't think the word needs any definition.  I pray that these homeless families get their own home soon. In the meeting held with these families, they told their problems. Listening to this, I pray that no one will suffer like this.

ઘરનું સમણું તો બધા જુએ પણ પૂરું બધાનું નથી થતું ..

બસમાં ચડવા ભીડ ઘણી હોય તો બારીમાંથી એકાદ સીટ પર રૂમાલ મૂકી જગ્યા રોકી લેવાની ટેવવાળા આપણે ...

જોકે બેસવા પૂરતો આ વ્યવહાર સૌએ સ્વીકારેલો પણ ઘર માટે આ વ્યવહાર સ્વીકાર્ય નહિ ..

ગાંધીનગરના મહાત્મા મઁદિર નજીકની સરકારી પડતર જગ્યામાં વિચરતી જાતિના ને અન્ય ગરીબ પરિવારોએ વર્ષો પહેલા રૂમાલ મુક્યો ને કોઈએ હટાવ્યા નહીં એટલે આ જગ્યા હવે પોતાની એવું માન્યું પણ આ કઇં બસની સીટ થોડી હતી...

35-50 વર્ષના વસવાટ પછી અચાનક પોતાની માનેલી જગ્યા પર બુલડોઝર ફેરવાયું ને પલકારામાં બધું ભોંય ભેગું થઇ ગયું ..

ક્યાં જાશુનો સવાલ બધાને થયો ...

અમારા કાર્યકર તોહીદ અને રિઝવાન અને વસાહતના આગેવાન સંજયભાઈ ને અન્ય સૌએ મળીને આ ઘર વિહોણા પરિવારોની વિગત તૈયાર કરી ...

કલેકટર કચેરીમાં વિગત જમા કરાવી... કલેક્ટર શ્રીએ સરકારી જગ્યા શોધી આ પરિવારોને વસાવવાની ખાત્રી આપી ..

ઘર ... મારા ખ્યાલથી આ શબ્દને કોઈ વ્યાખ્યાની જરૂર જ નથી .. ઘર વિહોણા આ પરિવારોને પોતાનું ઘર ઝટ મળે એવી પ્રાર્થના ...

આ પરિવારોની સાથે થયેલી બેઠકમાં એમણે પોતાની તકલીફો કહી.. સાંભળીને આવું દુઃખ કોઈને ન પડે એમ પ્રાર્થના મનોમન થાય ...
