Mittal Patel meets Daria Ba in Amodard village

Sunil, our worker from Vadodara, showed our driver Darshan the way to Amodard village, saying we were going to meet Daria Ba. We arrived at the Rathodiya Faliya in the village. The car stopped outside the Faliya, and we walked to Daria Ba's home.

Though we called it a home, whether to refer to it as such was questionable. Daria Ba was seated amidst the decay of her surroundings, her frail body barely visible. At first glance, it resembled the vision of hell.

One of her sons is mentally challenged. He wanders off but eventually returns to Daria Ba for food. Daria Ba survives with the help of her neighbors, who occasionally provide her with sustenance.

Realizing the situation, we started providing rations every month. The kind neighbors also bring firewood, enabling her to cook.

Food and drink seemed to be a distant luxury, but seeing the condition of the hut where she lives... words fail to capture the despair.

On the day we visited, it was unbearably hot. It was hard to imagine Ba living in such heat.

Even going to the toilet or bathroom was a huge struggle.

Given the situation, we decided to build her a small house. Our Kishor uncle (Kishorbhai Patel) helped with this. In memory of our dear Kushalbhai, we decided to prepare this new home and started the construction.

We express our gratitude to those who helped us provide rations to Daria Ba, and we bow to Kishor uncle for assisting in building her home.

Imagining the comfort Ba will find in this house is difficult. Just thinking about the monsoon and the conditions she endured is unsettling.

It’s a blessing to be a part of bringing relief to the lives of so many individuals.

આપણે દરિયા બાને મળવા જવાનું છે એમ કહીને વડોદરના અમારા કાર્યકર સુનિલે અમારા સારથી દર્શનને આમોદરદ ગામનો રસ્તો બતાવ્યો. ગામના રાઠોડિયા ફળિયામાં અમે પહોંચ્યા. ગાડી ફળિયા બહાર ઊભી રહી ને અમે ચાલતા દરિયાના ઘરે પહોંચ્યા. 

ઘર તો અમે બોલીયે પણ ઘર કહેવું કે કેમ એ સવાલ. કંતાનની આડાશોમાં જીર્ણ દેહધારી બા બેઠેલા. આંખે ઝાંખપ. પ્રથમ નજરે નર્કની કલ્પના આપણે કરીએ તેવું નર્ક જ જણાયું.

એમનો એક દિકરો માનસીક વિકલાંગ. એ ગમે ત્યાં ભટકે પણ ટાણુ થાય એટલે દરિયા બા પાસે ખાવા આવે. દરિયા બાને આડોશી પાડોશી વધેલું ઘટેલું આપે ને એ જીવે.

સ્થિતિ ખ્યાલ આવતા અમે દર મહિને રાશન આપવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. પડોશીઓ સારા તે બળતણ  લાવી આપે એનાથી એમનો ચૂલો સળગે. 

ખાવા પીવાનું તો જાણે હખ થઈ ગયું. પણ એ જ્યાં રહે તે ઝૂંપડાની દશા જોઈને તો... ઘડિક તો શું બોલવું સમજાય નહીં.

જે દિવસે મળવા ગયા તે દિવસે સખત તાપ હતો. સહન ન થઈ શકે એવી ગરમીમાં બા રહે..

ટોયલેટ - બાથરૃમ જવાની પણ ભયંકર તકલીફ. 

સ્થિતિ જોઈને નાનકડુ ઘર કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. ને એ માટે મદદ કરી અમારા કિશોર અંકલે(કિશોરભાઈ પટેલ). પ્રિય કુશલભાઈની સ્મૃતિમાં આ કુશ હોમ તૈયાર કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું ને એનું બાંધકામ પણ શરૃ કર્યું...

દરિયા બાને રાશન આપવામાં નિમિત્ત બનનાર સ્વજનોના અમે આભારી સાથે ઘર બનાવવામાં મદદ કરનાર કિશોર અંકલને પ્રણામ..

You have worked with renowned artists like Kaka Kirtidan Bhai and Farida Meer, so you must have earned a lot of money, right?' 'Yes, sister, I earned a lot.' 'So why didn't you save it?' 'What was the point of saving it?' 'It would be useful in old age.' 'I thought my son would be the support in my old age, but he is no longer here, so what use is money?' 'Still, everyone saves...' Before Amrat Kaka from Patan could answer, his neighbor said, 'No one who comes to Kaka's house leaves empty-handed... Kaka has fed and given a lot to everyone.'

Amrat Kaka's words were delightful. He also had a lot of spiritual knowledge. He said, 'What is the point of saving? Nothing will come with you when you die. And won't God send someone to feed the hungry? You were sent to us... so we must not distrust Him.'

Kaka and his wife Ishaba, who had such faith, lost their only son and became destitute. Currently, they receive an old-age pension and manage to live on the ration kits we provide them.

Kaka played the manjira exceptionally well in folk performances. Even today, if there is an event, Kaka gets up and goes. We had many conversations with him, all of which are available as videos on our YouTube channel.

When we were about to leave after meeting Kaka, he took out a five hundred rupee note to give us. He said, 'How can I let you go empty-handed?'

This incident taught us a lot about what generosity means.

In Patan and Banaskantha, Ashwin Bhai Chaudhary from Palanpur helps provide rations to a hundred such elderly individuals. Despite being young, he has made significant progress in the construction field and joyfully shares what God has given him.

Our best wishes for Ashwin Bhai to continue to be happy.

 'કાકા કીર્તીદાનાભાઈ, ફરિદા મીર વગેરે જેવા નામી કલાકારો સાથે કામ કર્યું છે તો પૈસાય મળતા હશે ને?'

'હા બેન ઘણા મળ્યા'

'તો ભેગા કેમ ન કર્યા?'

'ભેગા કરીને શું કરવાનું?'

'ઘડપણમાં કામ આવે'

'દીકરો હતો એ ઘડપણની લાઠી બનત એવું લાગતું હતું પણ એય ક્યાં રહ્યો, તો પૈસા શું રહેત?'

'છતાં બચત તો સૌ કરે..'

પાટણના રવિન્દ્રાના અમરતકાકા આનો જવાબ આપે તે પહેલા તેમના પડોશીએ કહ્યું, 'કાકાના ત્યાં કોઈ પણ વ્યક્તિ માંગવા આવે એ ક્યારેય ખાલી હાથે ન જાય.. કાકાએ ખુબ ખવડાવ્યું ને આપ્યુય બધાને ઘણું..'

અમરતકાકાની વાતો મજાની હતી. આધ્યાત્મીક જ્ઞાન પણ ઘણું એ કહે, 'ભેગુ કરીને શું કરવાનું એ કશું સાથે નહીં આવે. ને ભગવાન ભૂખ્યા ક્યાં સુવાડે? તમારા જેવાને મોકલી દીધા ને.. તો અવિશ્વાસ નહીં કરવાનો..'

આવી શ્રદ્ધા ધરાવતા કાકા અને એમના પત્ની ઈશાબાનો એકના એક દિકરો ગુજરી ગયો ને દંપતિ  નિરાધાર બન્યું. હાલ બેઉને વૃદ્ધ પેન્શન મળે ને અમે આપીયે એ રાશનકીટ એનાથી જીવન ચાલી જાય છે. 

કાકા લોકડાયરામાં ગજબ મંજિરા વગાડતા. આજેય વાયક આવે તો કાકા ઉપડી જાય. ખુબ બધી વાતો એમની સાથે થઈ એ બધી અમારી યુટ્યુબ ચેલનમાં વિડીયો સ્વરૃપે મુકી છે..

કાકાને મળીને અમે નીકળી રહ્યા હતા ત્યારે એમણે પાંચસોની નોટ કાઢી અમને આપવા. એ કહે, 'ખાલી હાથે તમને કેમ જવા દેવાય..'

ઉદારતા કોને કહેવાય એના વિષે આ વાતથી જ ઘણું સમજાઈ ગયું.

પાટણ અને બનાસકાંઠામાં રહેતા આવા 100 માવતરોને રાશન આપવામાં પાલનપુરના યુવાન અશ્વિનભાઈ ચૌધરી મદદ કરે. એમણે બાંધકામ ક્ષેત્રે નાની ઉંમરમાં ઘણી પ્રગતિ સાધી ને ઈશ્વરે જે આપ્યું એ હરખથી એ વહેંચે..

અશ્વિનભાઈ ખુબ સુખી થાય એવી શુભભાવના..

સાથે અમરતકાકા જેવા 600 માવતરોને અમે દર મહિને રાશન આપીયે.. તમે સૌ પણ અશ્વિનભાઈની જેેમ માવતરોના ક્ષમતા અનુસાર પાલક બની શકો...

Mittal Patel meets Muslim Oad community in Vadodara

"There might be around five hundred families of ours throughout Gujarat. Just look at our situation; we are in a tough spot. We keep wandering around to find work. But our name is not listed among the nomadic communities..."

Rajubhai Oad, who lives in Vadodara, said this.

I couldn't understand why Rajubhai was saying this, given that the Oad community is included among the nomadic tribes. So, I told him, "The Oad community is indeed listed among the nomadic tribes."

"Yes, the Hindu Ods are included in the list, but we are Muslim Oads. The officials say that Muslim Oads are not part of the nomadic tribes, which is why we don’t receive certificates."

"Oh..."

"We have been living in makeshift shelters in Vadodara, Bhadrava, Baska, Himmatnagar, Kheda, Jethlod, and other villages for a long time. There are more than 500 of our shelters across Gujarat. Our financial condition is poor. We don’t have the means to buy land or a house. When we applied for residential plots for nomadic communities, the officials said, 'You don’t qualify as nomadic.'"

What a complicated issue... The population is quite small, yet we face difficulties in securing a permanent address.

Well, we will make a representation. But who knows when the fundamental issues of the nomadic communities will be resolved...

આખા ગુજરાતમાં અમારા પાંચસો પરિવાર માંડ હશે. સ્થિતિ તો તમે જુઓ છો અમે કેવામાં પડ્યા છીએ. માટી કામ કરવા અમે ફરતા રહેતા. પણ અમારુ નામ વિચરતી જાતિમાં નથી..’

વડોદરામાં રહેતા રાજુભાઈ ઓડ એ આ વાત કરી.

ઓડ સમુદાયનો સમાવેશ વિચરતી જાતિમાં થયો છે તો રાજુભાઈ આવું કેમ કહી રહ્યા છે મને સમજાયું નહીં. મે એમને કહ્યું,

‘ઓડ સમુદાયનો સમાવેશ વિચરતી જાતિમાં છે જ.’

‘હા, હિંદુ ઓડનો સમાવેશ યાદીમાં છે પણ અમે મુસ્લિમ ઓડ. અધિકારી કે છે કે મુસ્લિમ ઓડનો સમાવેશ વિચરતી જાતિમાં નથી. એટલે પ્રમાણપત્ર મળે નહીં.’

‘ઓહ...’

‘વડોદરા,ભાદરવા, બાસ્કા, હિંમતનગર ખેડા, જેઠલોદ વગેરે ગામોમાં અમે ઘણા વખતથી છાપરા કરીને રહીએ. આખા ગુજરાતમાં 500 થી વધુ અમારા છાપરા નથી. અમારી આર્થિક હાલત ખરાબ છે. જમીન કે ઘર ખરીદી શકીએ એવી તાકાત નથી. સરકાર વિચરતી જાતિઓને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફાળવે તે અમે એ ઠરાવ હેઠળ અરજી કરી તો અધિકારી કે છે તમે વિચરતીમાં ન આવો..’

કેવો પેચીદો પ્રશ્ન.. જન સંખ્યા બહુ જ નાનકડી.. પણ કાયમી સરનામુ મેળવવામાં મુશ્કેલી.

ખેર અમે રજૂઆત કરીશું. પણ કોણ જાણે વિચરતી જાતિઓના પ્રાથમિક પ્રશ્નોનો ઉકેલ ક્યારે આવશે...

Thank you Lord for a beautiful life you have given. Hey tree, give us life, give us life, give us anything like fruit, flower, shade etc. I thank you for the satisfaction of our many needs from birth till death.

What happened to you today did they start giving thanks like this?

I would say thank you darshan fun process to do everyday. Thanksgiving opens the heart, opens and understands everything with empathy. So thanking is also open to me.

Thus, innumerable people in our life, creatures played a small role in their own way. Let's thank all of them. But water and trees thanks to both I'll believe immediately after parents. Selflessness makes us live..

We restored water temples and thank the water - express gratitude. When planting trees, thanks to the tree god..

Planted 3.5 lakh trees this year. 12.50 lakh trees planted since 2019 till now are growing now.

We plant trees by worshiping. Banaskantha's Ravidham and there cowshed. 20,000 trees planted in the land of cowshed with the help of Parikh Foundation - Mumbai. The leaders of the village were specially present during the tree worship. And also talked about planting more trees.

Several lands of Dhanera taluka were rented by solar companies. Many trees were cut in this circumstances, it is also necessary to balance the environment by planting the cut trees.

Ravidham is awake.. We wish you all come forward in the matter of planting trees and growing..

હે ઈશ્વર તે ખુબ સુંદર જીવન આપ્યું એ માટે તારી આભારી છું. હે વૃક્ષ તુ અમને પ્રાણવાયુ આપી જીવાડે, ફળ, ફૂલ, છાંયડો વગેરે જેવું કાંઈ કેટલુંયે આપે. આમ તો જન્મ થી લઈને મરણ સુધી તુ અમારી સાથે રહે ને અમારી ઘણી જરૃરિયાત તુ સંતોષે માટે તારો આભાર માનુ છું.

તમને થશે આજે થયું છે શું તે આમ આભાર માનવા માંડ્યા? 

હું કહીશ આભાર દર્શન મજાની પ્રક્રિયા રોજે રોજ એ કરવા જેવી. આભાર માનવાથી હૃદય ખુલ્લુ, મોકળુ બને અને એ સંવેદનાથી દરેક વાતને સમજે. એટલે આભાર માનવો એ પણ ખુલ્લા મને. 

આમ તો આપણા જીવનમાં અસંખ્ય લોકો, જીવોએ પોતાની રીતે નાનકડી ભૂમિકા ભજવી. આ બધાનો આભાર માનીયે. પણ પાણી અને વૃક્ષ એ બેયનો આભાર હું માતા પિતા પછી તુરત માનીશ. નિસ્વાર્થભાવે એ આપણને જીવાડે.. 

અમે જલમંદિરોનો જીર્ણોદ્ધાર કરી પાણી પ્રત્યે આભાર- કૃતજ્ઞતાભાવ વ્યક્ત કરીએ. જ્યારે વૃક્ષો વાવી વૃક્ષદેવ પ્રત્યે આભાર દર્શન..

આ વર્ષે 3.5 લાખ વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા. આમ 2019 થી લઈને અત્યાર સુધીમાં વાવેલામાંથી 12.50 લાખ વૃક્ષો અત્યારે ઉછરી રહ્યા છે.

અમે પુજન કરીને વૃક્ષો વાવીએ. બનાસકાંઠાનું રવીધામ ને ત્યાંની ગૌશાળા. ગૌશાળાની જમીનમાં 20,000 વૃક્ષો પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશન -મુંબઈની મદદથી વાવ્યા. ગામના આગેવાનો વૃક્ષપૂજન વખતે ખાસ હાજર રહ્યા. અને વધારે વૃક્ષો વાવવા અંગે વાતો પણ કરી. 

ધાનેરા તાલુકાની ઘણી જમીન સોલાર કંપનીઓએ ભાડેથી લીધી. એમાં ખુબ વૃક્ષો કપાયા આવા સંજોગોમાં કપાયેલા વૃક્ષો વાવી વાતાવરણને સમતુલીત કરવું પણ જરૃરી.. 

રવિધામ તો જાગ્યું.. તમે સૌ પણ વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાની બાબતમાં આગળ આવો તેમ ઈચ્છીએ..

 The birth of a son at their daughter's house filled them with immense joy. They distributed sweets and gave gifts to the newborn. However, Vyoma Ben, who lives in Mumbai, felt that something was still missing.

She decided to give a memorable gift to the little Arjun by donating to the Arjun village forest. With Arjun's growth, many lives found shelter as the trees began to flourish.

Within a year, the trees planted in the fields of Vav, Banaskantha, thrived beautifully. Vyoma Ben then created Chandragram in memory of her father.

In 2023, she established Maitrigrama to commemorate the enduring friendship of her four cousins.

With her help, a total of 8,763 trees were planted in Dharadhara, Kunwarva, Padar, and Vagharol in Banaskantha, out of which 7,329 are thriving.

Vyoma Ben, who is sensitive towards nature, believes that everyone should plant and nurture at least 150 trees in their lifetime. Only then can we restore the damaged environment to its former richness.

By planting 8,763 trees, Vyoma Ben and her loved ones have given back to nature, properly caring for the trees they planted. I salute her commitment.

Arjun's grandmother, Archana Ben Parikh, and her family, through the Parikh Foundation, have helped nurture over 50,000 trees. I had the chance to meet them at Vyoma Ben's place. I will share more about their family sometime in the future.

Recently, when I visited Mumbai, I had the opportunity to go to Vyoma Ben's house. She holds us in great affection, for which I am grateful.

દિકરીના ઘરે દિકરાનો જન્મ થયો.. નાની બન્યાના હરખનો પાર નહોતો. મીઠાઈ તો વહેંચી, જન્મેલા બચ્ચાને ભેટસોગાદો પણ આપી.. પણ હજુ કાંઈક ખુટે એવું અમારા મુંબઈમાં રહેતા વ્યોમાબેનને લાગ્યું...

આજીવન યાદ રહી જાય તેવી ભેટ તેમણે નાનકડા અર્જુનને આપવાનું નક્કી કર્યું ને એમણે અમને અર્જુન ગ્રામવન માટે ડોનેશન આપ્યું. અર્જુનની સાથે સાથે અસંખ્ય જીવોને આશરો મળી રહે તે વૃક્ષો પણ ઉછરવા માંડ્યા.

એક વર્ષમાં બનાસકાંઠાના વાવના ધરાધરામાં વાવેલા વૃક્ષો મસ્ત ઉછર્યા. વ્યોમાબેને પછી પિતાના સ્મૃતિમાં ચંદ્રગ્રામ પણ બનાવ્યું. 

2023માં એમણે એમની ચાર બહેનપણીઓની પાક્કી દોસ્તી કાયમ યાદ રહે તે માટે મૈત્રીગ્રામ પણ બનાવ્યું. 

તેમની મદદથી બનાસકાંઠાના ધરાધરા, કુંવારવા, પાદર, વાઘરોલમાં કુલ 8763 વૃક્ષો વવડાવ્યા જેમાંથી7329 ઉછરી રહ્યા છે. 

મજાના વ્યોમાબેન.. પ્રકૃતિ પ્રત્યે સંવેદનશીલ.. કહે છે દરેક વ્યક્તિએ આછોમાં ઓછા 150 વૃક્ષો પોતાની હયાતીમાં વાવી ઉછેરવા જોઈએ, તો જ બગાડેલું વાતાવરણ આપણે પાછુ સમૃદ્ધ કરી શકીશું.

વ્યોમાબહેને 8763 વવડાવી પોતાના ને પોતાના તમામ સ્નેહીજનોએ કુદરત પાસેથી જે લીધું તે વૃક્ષો વવડાવી એનું બરાબર માવજત કરાવી કુદરતને અપર્ણ કર્યું... તેમની આ કટીબદ્ધતાને પ્રણામ કરુ છું.

અર્જુન જેમનો પૌત્ર એ અર્ચનાબહેન પરીખ.. એમના પરીવારે પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશન થકી 50,000 થી વધારે વૃક્ષો ઉછેરવામાં મદદ કરી.. વ્યોમાબેનના ત્યાં એમને પણ મળવાનું થયું. એમના પરિવારની વાત પણ ક્યારેક વિસ્તારથી અહીંયા કરીશ. 

હમણાં મુંબઈ ગઈ ત્યારે વ્યોમાબેનના ઘરે જવાનું થયું., ખુબ હેત રાખે અમારા પર.. તેમની લાગણી માટે આભારી છું. 

ને વ્યોમાબેનની જેમ તમે પણ તમારા પ્રિયજનની ભેટમાં, સ્મૃતિમાં નાના જંગલો ઊભા કરાવવા હોય કે નિયત સંખ્યામાં વૃક્ષો વવડાવવા અનુદાન આપી શકો એ માટે  90999-36013 પર 10 થી  6માં સંપર્ક કરી શકો...
