 Bhanpur is a wonderful village.

In 2024, we had planted more than 5,000 trees in Chotasan village near Bhanpur, and they are growing beautifully. Seeing this, the people of Bhanpur invited us to plant and nurture trees on their village grazing land. The area selected for plantation was like a ravine, and the village spent a significant amount on clearing and preparing the land.

The villagers said, “God will truly love our village when birds and animals choose to live here in large numbers.”

Whenever a village is willing to work hard for such a cause, respected Pratulbhai Shroff of Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation readily extends support. Together, KRSF and VSSM planted more than 5,000 trees in Bhanpur.

Laljibhai, a true nature lover from the village, took responsibility as the “Tree Friend” caretaker. He nurtures the trees like children. The village sarpanch Varshaben, her husband Bharatbhai, and the entire village community have remained extremely active in this effort.

If we nurture trees, rains will come, groundwater levels will improve, birds and animals will find shelter and shade, heat will reduce, and the balance of oxygen in the environment will improve. These are all long-term benefits.

But through the collective efforts of the village, KRSF, and VSSM, truly remarkable work has already begun.

ભાણપુર મજાનું ગામ.

અમે ભાણપુર પાસેના ચોટાસણ ગામમાં 5000 થી વધારે વૃક્ષો 2024માં વાવેલા જે સરસ ઉછરી રહ્યા છે. એ જોઈને ભાણપુર ગામે પોતાના ગામની ગૌચર જગ્યામાં વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવા આમંત્રણ આપ્યું. જ્યાં વૃક્ષો વાવવાના હતા એ જગ્યા કોતરો જેવી. ગામે એની સફાઈ માટે મોટો ખર્ચો કર્યો.

ગામ કહે, "ઈશ્વરને અમારુ ગામ ત્યારે પ્રિય લાગશે જ્યારે અમારા ગામમાં પશુ પંખીઓ મહત્તમ સંખ્યામાં રહેવા આવશે."

જે ગામ પોતે મહેનત કરવા તૈયાર હોય એવા ગામને ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશનના અમારા આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ મદદ કરે. KRSF સાથે મળી VSSM એ 5000 થી વધારે વૃક્ષો ભાણપુરમાં વાવ્યા. 

વૃક્ષમિત્ર તરીકેની જવાબદારી ગામના વૃક્ષપ્રેમી લાલજીભાઈએ સ્વીકારી. વૃક્ષોની એ બાળકની જેમ માવજત કરે. ગામના સરપંચ વર્ષાબહેન અને તેમના ઘરવાળા ભરતભાઈ સાથે આખુ ગામ પણ એકદમ સક્રિય.

વૃક્ષો ઉછેરીશું તો વરસાદ આવશે, પેટાળ પાણીદાર થશે. પશુ પંખીને છાંયડો, ઘર મળશે.  ગરમીમાં ઘટાડો થશે ને ઓક્સિજનનું સંતુલન સુધરે. આ બધુ લાંબાગાળાનું. પણ ગામ, KRSF ને VSSMના સહિયારા પ્રયાસથી ઉત્તમ કામ થયું.

 "Have you ever been to a cremation ground?"

"Hey, bury me if I’ve ever been!"

"So today is your first time here?"

"Yes. Actually, someone at home said that trees are being planted in grandpa’s name. So I came... and then realized, for the first time ever, the whole family has gathered like this."

These were the words spoken by the women, who were planting trees with their heads covered in veils.

Even though the cremation ground is sacred, no one really wishes to come here while alive. But we come here, worship the trees, and plant them. Our hope is that women, men, and children from the village all participate in this event. It’s also a way to break the fear of the cremation ground.

In the cremation ground of Sedla village in Banaskantha, we planted 5,500 trees in partnership with Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation (KRSF) and the village community.

When we arrived at the cremation ground, we saw more than 500 villagers sitting near the dug-up pits, each holding a sapling to plant.

It was a beautiful sight. Everyone welcomed us, and after a ritual, we established the Tree Deity. All present chanted “Victory to Tree Narayan Dev!”

After that, everyone gathered in one place. Respected Shri Pratulbhai, founder of KRSF, spoke about the importance of trees. The VSSM team facilitated the entire event. The people of Sedla also honored every member of the team.

After that, everyone had tea and snacks — for many women and children, not only was it their first time at a cremation ground, it was also their first time eating there.

Through the Tree Nurturing Program, not only is nature conserved, but social beliefs also begin to shift. Plus, this initiative creates livelihood opportunities for many.

After seeing trees being planted in Sedla’s cremation ground, people from neighboring communities also started cleaning their own cremation grounds. They too want to free their spaces from invasive mesquite (ganda bawal).

We hope that villagers everywhere become aware and develop a sensitivity towards nature.

તમે કોઈ દિ સ્મશાનમાં આવેલા?'

'ઓય હું દાટ્યું હોય તે આબ્બુ પડ.'

'તો આજે પહેલીવાર આવ્યા?'

'હોવ. આતો ઘરના એ કીધું ક ઝાડ વાબ્બાના હ. તે આયા પણ હારુ કીધુ આ આખું કટમ્બ, ગોમ ઓમ પેલીવાર કા આ રીતે ભેળુ થ્યું.'માથે ઘૂંઘટ ઓઢેલી વૃક્ષો વાવી રહેલી બહેનોએ આ કહ્યું. સ્મશાન પવિત્ર ભૂમી પણ કોઈને અહીંયા જીવતા આવવું તો ન જ ગમે. અમે સ્મશાનમાં વૃક્ષો પૂજન કરીને વાવીએ. ગામના સ્ત્રી, પુરુષ, બાળકો સૌ આ કાર્યક્રમમાં હાજર રહે એવી અમારી લાગણી. આ બહાને સમ્શાન માટેનો ભય પણ ભાંગે.

બનાસકાંઠાના સેદલાગામના સ્મશાન માં અમે 5500 વૃક્ષો ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન (KRSF) અને ગામની ભાગીદારીથી વાવ્યા. અમે સ્મશાનમાં પહોંચ્યા તો ગામના 500 કરતા વધારે વ્યક્તિઓ વૃક્ષો વાવવા માટે કરેલા ખાડા પાસે એક એક વૃક્ષ લઈને બેઠેલા જોયા.સરસ નજારો હતો. સૌએ અમને આવકાર્યા ને પછી પૂજન કરી અમે વૃક્ષદેવનું સ્થાપન કર્યું.  સૌએ વૃક્ષ નારાયણ દેવ કી જયના નામનો જયધોષ કર્યો. 

એ પછી સૌ એક જગ્યા પર એકત્રીત થયા. વૃક્ષોના મહત્વની વાત  KRSFના સ્થાપક આદરણીય શ્રી પ્રતુલભાઈએ કરી. VSSM ટીમ  આ કાર્યમાં નિમિત્ત બની. સેદલાવાસીઓએ ટીમના તમામ સદસ્યોનું પણ સન્માન કર્યું. 

એ પછી સ્મશાનમાં સૌએ ચા નાસ્તો કર્યો. જેમ બહેનો અને બાળકોનું સ્મશાનમાં આવવાનું પહેલીવાર નું હતું અદલ એવું જ અહીંયા નાસ્તો કરવાનું પણ હતું.

વૃક્ષ ઉછેર કાર્યક્રમ અંતર્ગત પ્રકૃતિનું સંવર્ધન તો થાય છે સાથે સાથે સામાજીક માન્યતાઓ પણ બદલાય છે. વળી અનેકોને આ કાર્યમાંથી રોજી રોટી પણ મળે છે. 

સેદલાની એક સ્મશાનભૂમીમાં વૃક્ષો વવાતા જોઈને ગામના અન્ય સમાજના લોકોએ પણ પોતાની સ્મશાન ભૂમિ સાફ કરવાની શરૂઆત કરી દીધી. એમને પણ પોતાના સ્મશાનને ગાંડા બાવળ થી મુક્ત કરવું છે. 

બસ ગામે ગામ લોકો જાગે ને પ્રકૃતિ પ્રત્યે સંવેદનશીલ બને તેવું ઈચ્છીએ. 

આભાર પ્રતુલભાઈ તમે સાથે છો એનો રાજીપો ને સાથે કુદરત તમને ખુબ આપે ને અનેકોના શુભમાં નિમિત્ત બનાવે તેવી પ્રાર્થના..

Our mission to plant and nurture trees is now bearing fruit.

In Chekra village of Banaskantha, around 5,500 trees were planted with blessings and rituals, thanks to the support of Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation (KRSF) and APMC – Lakhani.

The founder of KRSF, respected Pratulbhai Shroff, was specially present at this event.

Through KRSF, support has been extended for planting and nurturing over 400,000 trees so far.

Pratulbhai continues to be a driving force not just in the welfare of people, but also in the well-being of all living beings.

His philosophy—of using his wealth for the good of all life on Earth—is truly worthy of salute and deep respect.

There’s much to learn from him.

In Chekra, the tree plantation was largely made possible through the generous support of #KRSF, and #APMC-Lakhani, who contributed 5,500 saplings and marked their participation meaningfully.

Such collaboration between organizations and villages is essential and desirable.

In every village, there are always a few families whom God has blessed with abundance.

What matters most is their willingness to share that abundance with others.

In Chekra, we began by worshipping the trees and formally installing Vruksha Dev (Tree God).

Local MLA Shri Keshaji Chauhan and his team were present for the event and extended their active support.

The managers of Chekra Gaushala and Mahant Shri also warmly welcomed everyone.

Naranbhai, Chairman of APMC – Lakhani, along with his active team, participated enthusiastically.

Many villagers came together to offer prayers and personally plant the trees.

Besides this, several well-wishers from Chekra and neighboring villages, who have consistently supported VSSM’s efforts, were present to mark the occasion.

Everyone clicked selfies with the trees, capturing memories of the moment.

From the VSSM team, Naranbhai, Jorabhai, Ratnabhai, Hareshbhai, Alpesh, Ashwinbhai and others worked hard to make this event a success.

VSSM feels honored to play a role in such meaningful work.

May the Divine always allow us to be instruments in such noble endeavors—this is our humble prayer.

વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનું અમારુ અભિયાન હવે રંગ લાવી રહ્યું છે. બનાસકાંઠાના ચેકરાગામમાં 5500 જેટલા વૃક્ષો ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન (KRSF) અને APMC – લાખણીની મદદથી વૃક્ષનું પૂજન કરીને વાવ્યા.

KRSF ના સ્થાપક આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ આ કાર્યક્રમમાં ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા. KRSF થકી અત્યાર સુધી 4 લાખ કરતા વધારે વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવા મદદ કરવામાં આવી છે. પ્રતુલભાઈ માણસોના કલ્યાણની સાથે સાથે સમગ્ર જીવસૃષ્ટિના કલ્યાણના કાર્યોમાં નિમિત્ત બની રહ્યા છે. આમ તો મળેલી સંપદા સમગ્ર જીવ સૃષ્ટિના કલ્યાણમાં ખર્ચવાની એમની ભાવનાને પ્રણામ કરવા ઘટે. એમની પાસેથી અનેકોએ શીખવા જેવું છે.

ચેકરામાં વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા તેમાં મહત્તમ મદદ #KRSFની આમાં #APMC – લાખણીએ 5500 વૃક્ષો આપી પોતાની સહભાગીતા નોંધાવી. ગામે ગામ આ પ્રકારની ભાગીદારી થાય તે પણ ઈચ્છનીય.

દરેક ગામોમાં કેટલાક પરિવારો એવા હોય છે જેમને ઈશ્વરે સુખ આપ્યું છે. બસ આ સુખને અન્યોને વહેંચવા માટે તેઓ સહમત થાય એ અગત્યનું.

ચેકરામાં વૃક્ષ પૂજન કરીને વૃક્ષ દેવનું સ્થાપન કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું ને આ વિસ્તારના જાગતલ ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી કેશાજી ચૌહાણ તેમજ તેમની ટીમ આ કાર્ય માટે ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહી. ચેકરા ગૌશાળાના સંચાલકો, મહંત શ્રી સૌએ પણ ઉપસ્થિતિ સૌને આવકાર્યા. APMC – લાખણીના ચેરમેન નારણભાઈ તેમજ તેમની ટીમ પણ એકદમ સક્રિય. વૃક્ષો પૂજન માટે ગામના સૌ મોટી સંખ્યામાં ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા ને પૂજન કરીને પોતાના હસ્તે વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા.

આ સિવાય સંસ્થાના કાર્યમાં સદાય મદદરૃપ થતા ચેકરા આસપાસના ગામોના અનેક સ્વજનો આ કાર્યક્રમમાં ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા. સૌએ વૃક્ષ સાથે સેલ્ફી પણ પડાવી.

VSSM ટીમના નારણભાઈ, જોરાભાઈ, રત્નાભાઈ, હરેશભાઈ, અલ્પેશ, અશ્વિનભાઈ વગેરે સૌની મહેનત આ કાર્યક્રમ સફળ બનાવવા રહી.

VSSMને આવા શુભકાર્યમાં નિમિત્ત બન્યાનો આનંદ. ઈશ્વર સૌના શુભમાં હંમેશા નિમિત્ત બનાવે તેવી પ્રાર્થના...

 "I was sitting in the presence of nature when suddenly a voice came, 'Do you want to save it?' There was no one in sight. I wondered, who said this? When I looked around, the voice came again, 'Do you want to save it?' Now I asked, 'Who are you?' And the answer came, 'I am Nature.' I was greatly surprised... Nature can speak? Then it said, 'You can hear, so I will tell you... I want to save it...' Now I asked, 'What do you want to save, Mother?' And Nature replied, 'I want to save this Earth from turning into a barren desert...' I asked, 'How will you save it?' And it said, 'I cannot do anything alone, but I will tell those who listen that they should do a little, and I will help them...'

There was no more to ask. I understood what I had to do...

Wherever the desert appeared, I had to spread greenery. I had to plant trees and place people to nurture them. The rest would be taken care of by Nature itself...

In 2019, we heard the voice of Nature and began planting and nurturing trees in North Gujarat. We planted trees in 240 villages, and a total of 14.5 million trees were planted, of which today 13.5 million are growing. The land where we planted trees stopped turning into a desert.

In the photos of Banaskantha, you can see the cemetery of Totana. With the help of the Vashi Parivaar Foundation, we planted trees here. The trees that were planted have grown wonderfully, as can be seen... From the Vashi Parivaar, Shweta, who must have also heard Nature's voice, helped with the planting. She came to see how the trees were growing. Seeing that the trees were growing well, she was happy.

We hope that every human being becomes sensitive enough to hear the voice of Nature and of our Earth..."

હું પ્રકૃતિના સાનિધ્યમાં બેઠી હતી ત્યાં અચાનક એક અવાજ આવ્યો, ‘બચાવવું છે?’

પડખે કોઈ માણસ નહોતો. સવાલ થયો તો આ બોલ્યું કોણ?

મે પાછુ આમ તેમ જોયું તો પાછો અવાજ આવ્યો, ‘બચાવવું છે.’

હવે મે પુછ્યું, ‘તમે કોણ છો?’

અને સામેથી જવાબ આવ્યો, ‘હું પ્રકૃતિ.’

મને ભારે આશ્ચર્ય થયું..પ્રકૃતિ વળી બોલે?

ત્યાં એણે કહ્યું, ‘તુ સાંભળે છે એટલે તને કહું છુ.. મારે બચાવવું છે..’

હવે મે પુછ્યું ‘મા તારે શું બચાવવું છે?’ ને પ્રકૃતિએ કહ્યું, ‘આ ધરતીને રણ જેવી વેરાન થતી બચાવવી છે...’

મે પુછ્યું, ‘કેવી રીતે બચાવીશ..’

તો કહે, ‘હું જાતે તો કશું ન કરી શકુ પણ મને સાંભળે એને કહીશ કે તુ થોડું કર બાકી હું મદદ કરીશ..’

વધારે હવે કશું પુછવાનું નહોતું.. મારે શું કરવાનું હતું એ સમજી..

મરુભૂમી જ્યાં દેખાય ત્યાં હરિયાળી પાથરવાની હતી. બાલ તરુઓ વાવવાના હતા ને ઉછેરવા માણસ મુકવાના હતા. બાકીનું ધ્યાન તો પ્રકૃતિ પોતે રાખવાની હતી..

અમે 2019માં પ્રકૃતિનો અવાજ સાંભળી ઉત્તર ગુજરાતમાં વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. 240 ગ્રામવનો અમે ઊભા કર્યા. જેમાં 14.50 લાખ વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા જેમાંથી આજે 13.50 લાખ ઉછરી રહ્યા છે. જ્યાં અમે વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા એ ધરતી રણ બનતી અટકી..

બનાસકાંઠાનું ફોટોમાં દેખાય એ ટોટાણાનું કબ્રસ્તાન. અમે વાશી પરિવાર ફાઉન્ડેશનની મદદથી અહીંયા વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા. વાવેલા વૃક્ષો કેવા સરસ ઉછર્યા એ જોઈ શકાય.. વાશી પરિવારમાંથી શ્વેતા આમ તો એમનેય પ્રકૃતિનો અવાજ સંભળાયો હશે માટે જ એમણે મદદ કરી તે એ વાવેલા વૃક્ષો જોવા આવ્યા..વાવેલા વૃક્ષો બરાબર ઉછરી રહ્યાનું જોઈ એ રાજી..

આશા રાખીએ દરેક મનુષ્ય એવો સંવેદનશીલ બને કે પ્રકૃતિનો અને આપણી આ ધરતીમાનો અવાજ એને સંભળાય....

"I once read, ‘Do we only plant trees?’ This sentence, written in the form of a question, was followed by, ‘We grow boats floating in the sea, we grow necessary plants for building buildings, we grow windows and doors for our homes...’ The list was long, but the point was interesting.

Trees provide us with many necessary things, and that’s why, as poet Kavi Kag Bapu said, ‘The soul of a benefactor is in helping others.’

In North Gujarat, we are involved in planting and growing trees. VSSM has till now created 240 villages, where 1,000 to 60,000 trees are growing together.

The initiative started in 2019 is progressing rapidly. Our goal is to plant and grow millions of trees. This goal is being fulfilled as we see the trees growing properly.

With the help of the Vashi Parivaar Foundation , we planted over 3,000 trees in the Makhanu village of Banaskantha. Our coordinators reported that the trees are growing well, but seeing them in person was truly satisfying.

We are grateful to the Vashi Parivaar Foundation. Smt. Shweta from the Vashi Parivaar Foundation visits once a year to see the work, and together we saw the trees we planted and were content to see them growing along with homes, gardens, and vehicles.

For future generations, this green balance...

એક જગ્યાએ વાંચ્યું શું આપણે ફક્ત વૃક્ષ ઉગાડીએ છીએ?

પ્રશ્નના સ્વરૃપમાં લખેલા આ વાક્ય નીચે લખ્યું હતું, આપણે સમુદ્રમાં તરતી હોડી ઉગાડીએ છીએ, આપણે બિલ્ડીંગ બાંધવા માટે જરૃરી પાલક, આપણા ઘરના બારી બારણા ઉગાડીએ છીએ... યાદી ઘણી લાંબી હતી પણ વાત મજાની હતી.

વૃક્ષો અનેક જરૃરિયાતની ચીજો આપણને આપે એટલે જ કવિ કાગ બાપુએ કહ્યું એમ ઉપકારી એનો આત્મા.

અમે ઉત્તર ગુજરાતમાં વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનું કરીએ. VSSM એ અત્યાર સુધી 240 ગ્રામવનો કર્યો જેમાં 1000 થી લઈને 60,000 વૃક્ષો એક સાથે લહેરાઈ રહ્યા છે.

વર્ષ 2019માં શરૃ કરેલી મુહીમ ઘણી ઝડપથી આગળ વધી રહી છે. મનોરથ તો કરોડો વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાના છે.

આ મનોરથને બળ જ્યારે વાવેલા વૃક્ષો બરાબર ઉછરતા જોઈને મળે છે.

બનાસકાંઠાનું મખાણું વાશી પરિવાર ફાઉન્ડેશનની મદદથી અમે 3000 થી વધારે વૃક્ષો ગામની વચમાં વાવેલા. વાવેલા સરસ ઉછરી રહ્યા છે એવો રીપોર્ટ અમારા કાર્યકર્તા આપે. પણ પ્રત્યક્ષ જોઈને રાજી થવાયું.

વાશી પરિવારનો ઘણો આભાર. વાશી પરિવારમાંથી આવેલા શ્વેતા વર્ષમાં એક વખત થયેલા કામોને જોવા આવે તે ખાસ એમની સાથે વાવેલા વૃક્ષો જોયા ને એ અને અમે સૌ ઉછરતા ઘરો, પાલખ, વહાણ વગેરે જોઈને રાજી રાજી..

આવનારી પેઢી માટે આ ગ્રીન બેલેન્સ...

To harm someone is violence. In my view, such a broad definition of violence cannot be accepted. There are also subtle forms of violence that we engage in. For example, making someone homeless is also violence. In the last hundred to one hundred fifty years, we have taken away the homes of millions—perhaps billions—of animals and birds. We have cut down trees and stripped them of their shelter. In my opinion, this is a very significant form of violence.

Humanity continues to strip countless people of their shelter, while trees and forests are still being cut down. We must try to compensate for the damage humanity has done to nature. We are currently working to plant 1.25 million trees in 125 villages, with the help of friends associated with VSSM.

In the cremation ground of the Thakore community in Ludra, Banaskantha, we planted over 5,000 trees three years ago with the help of Astral Pipes and the respected Tusharbhai Shah. The planted trees are growing beautifully. There was a time when the question was where to sit during cremations, but now there is shade everywhere in the cremation ground. Countless lives have made this place their home. You can also carry out such initiatives in your village; this will please nature.

કોઈને મારવું એજ હિંસા.. મારા ખ્યાલથી હિંસાનો આવો સ્થૂળ અર્થ ન કરી શકાય. કેટલીક સૂક્ષ્મ હિંસા પણ આપણે કરીયે...

દા.ત. કોઈને બેઘર કરી દેવું એ પણ હિંસા. પાછલા સો દોઢસો વર્ષમાં આપણે લાખો - કરોડો પશુ પક્ષીઓના ઘર છીનવી લીધા. વૃક્ષો કાપી તેમનો આશરો છીનવી લીધો છે.. મારા મતે આ બહુ મોટી હિંસા....

માનવજાત અસંખ્ય લોકોનો આશરો છીનવીને પણ ક્યાં અટકી હજુ વૃક્ષો- જંગલો કપાઈ જ રહ્યા છે. માનવજાતે પ્રકૃતિનું જે નુકશાન કર્યું તેને સરભર કરવા અમે કોશીશ કરીએ. 12.50 લાખ વૃક્ષો 125 ગ્રામવનોમાં વાવી ઉછેરવાનું કરી રહ્યા છીએ. એમાં VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા સ્વજનો મદદ કરે.

બનાસકાંઠાનું લુદ્રા - ઠાકોર સમાજની સ્મશાન ભૂમિમાં અમે 5000 થી વધારે વૃક્ષો એસ્ટ્રલ પાઈપ અને આદરણીય તુષારભાઈ શાહની મદદથી ત્રણેક વર્ષ પહેલા વાવ્યા. 

વાવેલા વૃક્ષો એકદમ સરસ ઉછરી રહ્યા છે.  એક સમય હતો સ્મશાનમાં મૃતદેહના અગ્નિ સંસ્કાર થતા હોય એ વખતે ક્યાં બેસવું એ સવાલ હતો આજે સ્મશાનમાં છાંયડો જ છાંયડો. અસંખ્ય જીવો સ્મશાનમાં પોતાનું ઘર બનાવ્યું. તમારા ગામમાં પણ તમે આવા કાર્યો કરી શકો.. એનાથી પ્રકૃતિ રાજી થશે...

 We all reached the crematorium, that too, dancing to the tunes of the DJ..

This usually is not the way to go to a crematorium. Of course, when the elders die, in some communities there is a tradition of taking the body to the crematorium with drums playing. Even though, there is no such tradition in Detalduva, everyone was going to the crematorium dancing. All, including women, children, elders were going dancing to a cremation ground. 

The leaders of the village and sarpanch approached us and said, "This is the first time that this type of event is taking place in our village. But this should happen everywhere!!" What was the event that the whole village was rejoicing? It was a unique procession, that too of VRIKSHDEV!! Every one from village, big and small, joined this procession right from the village outskirt. Everyone had the tree in hands. Continuously dancing, all reached the crematorium where 10,000 trees were planted.

This Gramvan will be developed with the help of Village and Parikh Foundation. VSSM is proud, becoming instrumental in this mission. VSSM volunteers will take care that this Graamavan grows and developes properly. Currently, two Vrikshamitras (friends of trees) are hired who will take care of the trees on a regular basis. 

Our team of Banaskantha district consisting of Naranbhai, Ratnaabhai, Maheshbhai, Joraabhai and Hareshbhai work hard to make sure all the trees grow. These types of missions are accomplished only because of such a strong and dedicated team.

We truly rejoice and are proud that we have planted more than 1 million trees and they all are growing!

અમે સૌ સ્મશાનમાં પહોંચ્યા એ પણ ડી.જે.ના તાલે નાચતા નાચતા..

સામાન્ય રીતે સ્મશાનમાં આ રીતે જવાનું થાય નહીં. હા કેટલાક સમાજોમાં વડિલોનું મૃત્યુ થાય તો ઢોલ વગાડતા વગાડતા મૃતદેહને સ્મશાનમાં લઈ જવાની પરંપરા પણ દેતાલડુવામાં આવી કોઈ પરંપરા નહીં 

છતાં સૌ નાચતા નાચતા સ્મશાનમાં જઈ રહ્યા હતા..વળી પાછા બહેનો, બાળકો, મોટાઓ સૌ કોઈ સ્મશાન તરફ જઈ રહ્યા હતા. સરપંચ ને ગામના આગેવાનોએ આવીને કહ્યું, અમારા ગામમાં આવુ પહેલીવાર થઈ રહ્યું છે. પણ આ થવું જોઈએ...

શું થઈ રહ્યું હતું જેનો હરખ આખા ગામને હતો?

નીકળી હતી શોભાયાત્રા એ પણ વૃક્ષદેવની. ગામના દરેક નાના મોટા સૌ આ શોભાયાત્રમાં જોડાયા. ગામના પાદરેથી સૌના હાથમાં વૃક્ષો હતા ને નાચતા નાચતા સૌ પહોંચ્યા સ્મશાનમાં જ્યાં 10,000 વૃક્ષોનું સ્થાપન થયું.

મુંબઈથી પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશને આ વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવા આર્થિક સહયોગ કર્યો. પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશનની ટીમ ખાસ મુંબઈથી આ કાર્યક્રમ માટે આવી. આદરણીય સૌનકભાઈ ને ટીમ ગામનો હરખ જોઈને રાજી થયા.

સ્મશાનમાં વૃક્ષનું પુજન થયું ને પછી એનું સ્થાપન..

ગામ અને પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશનની મદદથી આ ગ્રામવન ઊભું થશે. VSSM આ કાર્યમાં નિમિત્ત બન્યું એનો હરખ.. ત્રણ વર્ષ સુધી VSSMના કાર્યકરો આ ગ્રામવન બરાબર ઉછરે એનું ધ્યાન રાખશે.

હાલ બે વૃક્ષમિત્રો - પગારદાર માણસો રાખ્યા છે જે વૃક્ષોનું જતન કરશે. 

બનાસકાંઠાની અમારી ટીમ નારણભાઈ, રત્નાભાઈ, મહેશભાઈ, જોરાભાઈ, હરેશભાઈ સૌ વૃક્ષો ઉછરે એ માટે ખુબ મહેનત કરે. આવી મજબૂત ટીમના લીધે જ આ કાર્યો થાય.

Today we planted breaths.. You might wonder, can breaths be planted again? And we say yes, they can be planted, provided there is a sentiment in the heart.. Today, in Khanpur village of Dehgam in Gandhinagar, we came together with the whole village to plant breaths, not just with a few people.

The village invited us to create a village forest in the village grazing land. We gladly accepted. Dr. Nitin Sumant Shah from the Heart Foundation and Research Institute came to help plant 4,900 trees. The residents of Khanpur also participated. VSSM led the initiative, the Forest Department provided the trees, and with collective efforts, a beautiful task was accomplished.

We consider trees as gods and where they are planted as a tree temple. Before a deity is enshrined in any temple, a ceremonial procession takes place. Today, before enshrining the trees in our Pratiksha Gramvan, we held a procession in which the MLA of Dehgam, the Collector, Nitinbhai Shah, and the entire village joined. With much fanfare, the procession of the tree gods reached the tree temple... 51 couples from the village, children, and others participated in the ceremonial planting of the trees.

Esteemed Nitinbhai gave his wife Pratikshaben a memorable gift for future generations by creating Pratiksha Gramvan. Many works are being done in VSSM with their help.. having them with us is significant. We are grateful to them...

For the residents of Khanpur, this was an exceptional celebration, so residents of Khanpur living in Mumbai and Ahmedabad came specially to participate in the program. Such enthusiasm needs to be instilled in every village.

આજે અમે શ્વાસ વાવ્યા..

તમને થશે શ્વાસ ને તે વળી વવાય?

ને અમે કહીએ હા વવાય, બસ મનમાં ભાવના હોવી જોઈએ..

અમે આજે ગાંધીનગરના દેહગામના ખાનપુરગામે એકલ દોકલ માણસો સાથે નહીં પણ આખા ગામ સાથે ભેગા મળી શ્વાસ વાવ્યા.

ગામે અમને ગામની ગૌચર જમીનમાં ગ્રામવન બનાવવા આમંત્રણ આપ્યું. અમારે તો ભાવતુ તુ ને વૈદે કીધા જેવું થ્યું.

4900 વૃક્ષો વાવવા મદદે આવ્યા ડો. નિતીન સુમંત શાહ - હાર્ટ ફાઉન્ડેશન એન્ડ રીસર્ચ ઈન્સ્ટીટ્યુટ. ખાનપુર નિવાસીઓએ પણ ભાગીદારી નોંધાવી. VSSM એ આમાં આગેવાની લીધી, વન વિભાગે વૃક્ષો આપ્યા ને સહિયારા પ્રયાસથી સુંદર કાર્ય પાર પડ્યું.

અમે વૃક્ષને દેવ કહીએ ને જ્યાં એનું સ્થાપન કર્યું તે વૃક્ષમંદિર. કોઈ પણ મંદિરમાં દેવ બિરાજમાન થાય એ પહેલા એની શોભાયાત્રા નીકળી. આજે અમે પણ અમારા પ્રતિક્ષા ગ્રામવનમાં વૃક્ષનું સ્થાપન કરતા પહેલા તેની શોભાયાત્રા કાઢી ને એમાં દેહગામના ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી, કલેક્ટર શ્રી,નિતીભાઈ શાહ સહિત આખુ ગામ જોડાયું. વાજતે ગાજતે વૃક્ષ દેવની શોભાયાત્રા પહોંચી વૃક્ષમંદિરમાં... ગામના 51 દંપતીઓ તેમજ બાળકો ને અન્ય સૌએ મળીને વૃક્ષોનું સ્થાપન એ પણ પુજન સાથે કર્યું. 

આદરણીય નિતીનભાઈએ તેમના પત્ની પ્રતિક્ષાબેનને ભાવી પેઢી યાદ રાખે તેવી ઉત્તમ ભેટ પ્રતિક્ષા ગ્રામવન બનાવીને આપી. તેમની મદદથી VSSMમાં અનેક કામો થઈ રહ્યા છે.. તેમનું સાથે હોવું એ મોટી વાત. અમે એમના આભારી છીએ... 

ખાનપુર નિવાસીઓ માટે આ અનેરો ઉત્સવ હતો એટલે મુંબઈ, અમદાવાદમાં રહેતા ખાનપુર નિવાસીઓ ખાસ કાર્યક્રમમાં ભાગ લેવા આવ્યા. આવો ઉત્સાહ દરેક ગામોમાં ઊભો થાય એ જરૃરી.

ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી બલરાજસિંહજી, કલેક્ટર શ્રી મેહુલ દવે, પ્રાંત કલેક્ટર શ્રી, આદરણીય ભગવાનદાસ પંચાલ, વન વિભાગના અધિકારીઓ,  હીતેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલ, સરપંચ શ્રી, તાલુકા પંચાયતના સદસ્ય શ્રી તેમજ સમગ્ર ગ્રામજનો આ કાર્યક્રમમાં હાજર રહ્યા. આપ સૌના અમે આભારી છીએ.. 

વૃક્ષો વાવી તે બરાબર ઉછરે તે માટે મથતી અમારી ટીમ તોહીદભાઈ, મહેશભાઈ, પ્રવિણભાઈ, કલ્પેશભાઈ ને સમગ્ર VSSM ટીમની કટીબદ્ધતાને પ્રણામ. ટીમની રાતદિવસની મહેનતથી આ બધુ શક્ય બને આવી મજબૂત ટીમ સાથે હોવાનું ગર્વ..

અમે ગામની ભાગીદારીથી વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનું કરીએ.  ખાનપુર નિવાસીઓ આ બાબતને યોગ્ય રીતે સમજ્યા એટલે એમણે વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવા માટે માતબર રકમ અનુદાન પેટે એકત્રીત કરી. સહભાગીતા નોંધાવવામાં ખાનપુરગામ એકદમ નોખુ. 

શ્વાસરોપણ કાર્યક્રમમાં ગ્રામજનોએ પ્રતિક્ષા ગ્રામવન માટે આપેલી જગ્યા સિવાયની બીજી વીસ વીઘા ગૌચર જમીન વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવા આપવાનું પણ વચન આપ્યું..

વૃક્ષો માટે આવી લાગણી રાખનાર આદરણીય નિતીનભાઈ તેમજ ખાનપુર નિવાસીઓને સલામ...

 It is said that for every person there should be 50 sq meters of  green cover. However, in our country we do not have such a green cover.  When greenery is reduced it is not in the interest of our life. The fact is that the greenery is reducing, The effect of the same is still not very severe so we are not serious about it. We have an attitude of digging a well when there is a fire. It may be too late.

Cyclones, Flooding, Draught, we experience all these. We also talk a lot about it but we do not make efforts to correct it. 

Our mother earth has given us a lot. We owe a gratitude to her & for that we must keep her clean & green. It is also our duty that the next generation get a good ecological balance. Since 2019 we have been planting trees. At present we have 166 places where we have grown 8.80 lakh trees. 

In Aagthara village in Banaskantha District we have with the help of the Jewelex family planted 10,000 trees in the village's temple premise.  To take care we have "friends of trees" who work hard to ensure the protection & growth of the trees.  Respected Shri Piyusbhai Kothari & his family are nature lovers. In many VSSM's work, Shri Piyushbhai is always with us. It is because of many such people like Piyushbhai that we have been able to do good work. 

We believe that we all can do a lot so that the next generation inherits a balanced environment. If we all come together we can definitely achieve a lot.

કહે છે શહેરમાં પ્રતિ વ્યક્તિ 50 ચો.મી.નું ગ્રીન કવર હોવું જોઈએ. પણ હકીકતે આપણા દેશના એક પણ શહેરમાં આટલું ગ્રીન કવર નથી.. ગ્રીનકવર - હરિયાળી ઓછી થાય એ એક પણ જીવના હિતમાં નથી. હરિયાળી ઓછી થઈ રહી છે તેની અસરો એટલી બધી હાલ દેખાતી નથી એટલે આપણે જાગતા નથી.. આપણે તો આગ લાગે ત્યારે કુવો ખોદવા બેસીએ એવી માનસીકતાવાળા ને એટલે..

વાવાઝોડા, અતિવૃષ્ટિ આ બધુ અનુભવીયે, વાતોય ઘણી કરીએ પણ આ બધુ ઠીક થાય એના પ્રયત્નો નગણ્ય. 

અમને લાગે મા ધરાએ આપણને ઘણું આપ્યું. આપણે એનું ઋણ ચુકવવા એ હરિયાળી રહે તેવા પ્રયત્નો કરવા જોઈએ. સાથે આવનારી પેઢીને પણ હરિયાળુ બેલેન્સ આપવાની નૈતિક ફરજ. 

અમે 2019 થી વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. હાલમાં 166 ગ્રામવનમાં 8.80 લાખ વૃક્ષો ઉછરી રહ્યા છીએ.

બનાસકાંઠાના આગથળામાં જવેલેક્ષ પરિવાર તરફથી અમે ગામના મંદિરમાં 10,000 વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા. વાવેલા વૃક્ષોના ઉછેર માટે વૃક્ષમિત્ર ઘણું મથે જેના લીધે વાવેલા વૃક્ષો સરસ ઉછરી રહ્યા છે. 

આદરણીય પિયુશભાઈ કોઠારી અને તેમનો પરિવાર પ્રર્યાવરણ પ્રેમી. પિયુશભાઈ હંમેશાં VSSMના કાર્યોમાં સાથે.. એમના જેવા સ્વજનો સાથે હોવાના કારણે જ અમે ઘણું કરી શક્યા.

આપ સૌ પણ આવનારી પેઢીને નક્કર આપવાના કાર્યમાં સહયોગ કરી શકો. સાથે આવશો તો ઘણું કરી શકીશું એ નક્કી...

Dhanali village in Banaskantha District has a population of 2500. It's a lovely town and so are the youngsters of the village. In order that the wasteland of the village is not misused, they decided that they would plant trees there. However, to plant trees and nurture it is an expensive affair. They would have only a small portion of  the likely expense of Rs 40 lakhs.

To fund such a large expense they first thought of the Government's Forest Department and then they thought of VSSM. If the Forest Department could do the cleaning of land, fencing, and plant saplings after digging then major expense would be taken care of. Then the next step would be to think of how to provide for water. Approximately 20,000 trees to be planted would require a very large quantity of water. Independent borewell is required  For that the youngsters of the village, especially Dillipbhai & his friends, collected the funds. So borewell was done, water was available but to supply water to 20,000 trees with pipe was not possible.

VSSM with the help of Parikh Foundation - Mahendra Brothers managed to get drip irrigation done. With this the trees would grow well. 

The salary of the person taking care of the trees would be paid by the Forest Department. The area is very large and it requires a higher salary to be paid to the person. They requested VSSM to consider this. We will decide on that soon.  Most important was that the trees should grow & survive. 

The forest department of Banaskantha, with great interest, takes care of the entire site and the trees. In near future Dhanali would have a man-made forest. The credit for the same would go to Dillipbhai & other youngsters of  his team. The credit also goes to Mahendra Brothers through VSSM..

We have completed 166 forests but in many villages people complain more and work less. They do not show the same enthusiasm in taking care of the trees as they do when they call us. In that matter Dhanali is a different village. We wish that all villages show such strong determination.

We salute the determination of all who are instrumental in ensuring that work is successfully done.

Nature will bestow its blessings to the villagers of Dhanali for the wonderful work done.

ધનાલી 2500ની વસતિ ધરાવતું બનાસકાંઠાનું મજાનું પણ એનાથીયે મજાના ગામના યુવાનો..

પોતાના ગામની સરકારી ખરાબા અને ગૌચરની જગ્યામાં માણસો દબાણ  ન કરે એ માટે તેમણે આ જગ્યા પર મોટા પ્રમાણમાં વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો. પણ વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવા ખીસ્સામાં ફદિયા જોઈયે. એમની પાસેથી થોડા ઘણા નીકળે પણ ખર્ચો તો ચાલીસ લાખ આસપાસ થાય એમ હતો..

શું કરવુંની મથામણે પ્રથમ જંગલ વિભાગ યાદ આવ્યું ને બીજુ VSSM.

જગંલ વિભાગ જમીનની સફાઈ કરી, ફ્રેન્સીંગ, ખાડા અને વૃક્ષો વાવી આપે તો મોટો ખર્ચ નીકળી જાય. એ પછી વૃક્ષોનો બરાબર ઉછેર થાય તે માટે પાણીની વ્યવસ્થા કેવી રીતે કરવી તેનો વિચાર કર્યો. 

લગભગ 20,000 થી વધારે વૃક્ષો વવાવાના આમ પાણી પણ ખુબ જોઈએ. સ્વતંત્ર બોરવેલ કરવાનો વિચાર આવ્યો ને એ માટે ગામના યુવાનો ખાસ તો દિલીપભાઈ અને તેમના મિત્રોએ પૈસા ભેગા કર્યા. 

બોરવેલ થયો પાણીની સગવડ થઈ. હવે 20,000 થી વધારે વૃક્ષોને પાઈપથી પાણી આપવું અશક્ય. 

VSSMએ પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશન- મહેન્દ્ર બ્રઘર્સની મદદથી ડ્રીપ કરી આપી. આમ વાવેલા વૃક્ષો બરાબર ઉછેરે.

વૃક્ષોના જતન માટે રાખેલા માણસને જંગલ વિભાગ વેતન આપે. પણ સાઈટ મોટી છે. હમણાં ગામે VSSM ને વૃક્ષ મિત્રને થોડુ વધારે વેતન આપવા વિનંતી કરી. એ પણ ઝટ કરી લઈશું. મૂળ તો વૃક્ષો ઉછરે એ માટે આ બધુ જ અગત્યનું..

બનાસકાંઠા જંગલ વિભાગની ટીમ ખુબ રસ પૂર્વક આખી સાઈટનું ધ્યાન રાખે. ભવિષ્યમાં ધનાલીમાં માનવ નિર્મીત મજાનું જંગલ થઈ જશે. જેનો શ્રેય ગામના યુવાન દીલીપભાઈ અને એમની ટીમ, જંગલ વિભાગ તેમજ VSSM થકી મહેન્દ્ર બ્રઘર્સને જાય.. 

અમે 166 ગ્રામવન કર્યા પણ ઘણા ગામોમાં લોકો કામની જગ્યાએ ફરિયાદ ખુબ કરે. જેટલા ઉમળકાથી અમને વૃક્ષો ઉછેરવા ગામમાં બોલાવે તેટલા ઉમળકાથી વાવેલા વૃક્ષોને ઉછેરવામાં મદદ ન કરે ત્યારે ધનાલી એ રીતે નોખુ ગામ..

આવી કટીબદ્ધતા દરેક ગામ દાખવે તે ઈચ્છનીય...
