Seshaben Salat of Dhrangadhra was clueless with the document she received from the Chief Minister of Gujarat. She did take it with a smile, as seen in the picture, but within the dilemma brewed. But, how can one question the Chief Minister, “what are these documents for??”
I was present at the event, she stopped on her way off the stage and asked, “What to do with these? Harshadbhai had told us we will be given plots today!!”

“The paper is the receipt of the plot you have received. Government has given you plot in Virendragadh. The details are on this paper!!”
Seshaben shook her head with joy as she alighted from the stage.
The district Collector Shri K Rajesh of Surendranagar has committed to grant residential plots to 500 nomadic individuals of which 370 families have already been allotted. The efforts to find land for the remaining is underway.
An event to handover the documents of allotted plots was organised by district officials. Our Chief Minister did the honours. The program banner read, “Program for handingover plot certificates to Nomadic and De-notified Communities” which definitely brought me immense joy. The desire that government recognises these communities and organises special events for them was turning to be a reality now.
I had the opportunity to meet our CM a fortnight ago, amongst the numerous issues we discussed housing remained at the forefront. The Chief Minister also gave instructions regarding it to the concerned departments.
At the event in Surendranagar he reinforced the government’s commitment to provide houses to the homeless nomads. The media also took note of it. The proactive attitude of government and administration definitely cheered us up. This was the perfect example of how easy it becomes when administration and state decide to walk hand-in-hand.
Our petit Harshad is a workhorse. Since past many years he has single handedly managed entire Surendranagar district.
“Ben, no one in the administration listens to us!!”
These repeated complains stopped after Shri K Rajesh took charge of the district.
Shri Rajesh requested him to speak at the event and he spoke beautifully, as seen in the attached videoclip.
The joy of having the possibility of building a house is huge for any homeless family. We are grateful to our Chief Minister, the District Collector Shri Rajesh and Surendranagar administration. May you always remain instrumental to bring fundamental changes in the lives of poor and deprived.
'આ કાગરિયાનું અમારે હું કરવાનું?'
ધ્રાંગધ્રામાં રહેતા સેશાબહેન #સલાટને મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીએ રહેણાંકના પ્લોટની સનદ આપી. જે ફોટોમાં જોઈ શકાય છે.
એમણે હસીને સનદ લઈ તો લીધી પણ મનમાં મુખ્યમંત્રીએ આપેલા આ કાગળિયાને લઈને ઘણા સંસય થઈ ગયા. પણ એ અંગે મુખ્યમંત્રીને તો થોડું કાંઈ પુછાય?
એ સ્ટેજ પરથી નીચે ઉતરવાના માર્ગે ચાલ્યા. હું પણ કાર્યક્રમમાં હતી એટલે મને જોઈને ઊભા રહ્યાને પુછ્યું,
'આનું અમારે હું કરવાનું? અમને હર્ષદભાઈએ (VSSMના કાર્યકરે)આજે પલોટ મળવાના સે એવું કીધી'તુ'
'આ કાગળિયું પલોટ મળ્યાની રસીદ છે. સરકારે તમને વિનામુલ્યે રહેવા માટેનો ગાળો વિરેન્દ્રગઢમાં દીધો છે એવું આમાં લખ્યું છે'
મારી વાત સાંભળી એમણે હકારમાં માથુ હલાવ્યું અને સ્ટેજ પરથી નીચે ઉતરી ગયા.
કલેક્ટર શ્રી સુરેન્દ્રનગરનો દિવાળીની ભેટમાં 500 વિચરતી વિમુક્ત જાતિના પરિવારોને પ્લોટ આપવાનો સંકલ્પ હતો. જેના પરિણામે 370 પરિવારોને તો પ્લોટ ફાળવાઈ પણ ગયા. બાકીનાની તજવીજ પણ એ કરી રહ્યા છે.
જેમને પ્લોટ ફાળવાયા તેવા પરિવારોને સુરેન્દ્રનગરમાં આયોજીત કાર્યક્રમમાં #મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીના હસ્તે પ્લોટની સનદ આપવામાં આવી. કાર્યક્રમમાં સ્ટેજ પાછળ મુકેલા બેનરમાં વિચરતી વિમુક્ત જાતિને સનદ વિચરણ કાર્યક્રમ એવું લખ્યું હતું. વાંચીને હરખાઈ જવાયું. તંત્ર આ જાતિઓની નોંધ લે તેમના માટે કાર્યક્રમો થાય તે ખ્વાઈશ હવે પુરી થઈ રહ્યાનું જણાય છે.
મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીને બે અઠવાડિયા પહેલાં જ વિચરતી જાતિઓના પ્રશ્નો સંદર્ભે મળવાનું થયું હતું. જેમા રહેણાંકનો પ્રશ્ન મુખ્ય હતો. તેમણે એ દિશામાં કાર્યવાહી કરવાની સૂચના પણ સંલગ્ન વિભાગને આપી હતી.
સુરેન્દ્રનગર કાર્યક્રમમાં પણ એમણે #વિચરતી જાતિઓના #ઘરવિહોણા તમામને ઘર આપવાનો નિર્ધાર કર્યો. મિડીયા જગતે તેની નોંધ પણ લીધી.સરકાર અને વહીવટીતંત્રના વલણથી રાજી થવાયું. વહીવટીતંત્ર અને રાજકીય પાંખ બંનેનો માર્ગ એક થાય તો કામ સરળ થઈ જાય..
અમારો હર્ષદ દેખાવમાં ટેણી જેવો લાગે પણ કામમાં પાવરધો..
વર્ષોથી #સુરેન્દ્રગર જિલ્લાની જવાબદારી એ સંભાળે.
'બેન તંત્રમાં કોઈ હાંભળતું નથી'
એવી ફરિયાદો કલેક્ટર શ્રી કે રાજેશે કાર્યભાર સંભાળ્યો પછી બંધ જ થઈ ગઈ છે. કાર્યક્રમમાં કલેક્ટર શ્રીએ હર્ષદને પોતાની ભાવના વ્યક્ત કરવાનો મોકો આપ્યો અને એણે સરસ રીતે પોતાની વાત મુકી. જે વીડિયોમાં જોઈ શકાય છે.
વિચરતી જાતિઓને પ્લોટ મળ્યાનું સુખ બહુ મોટુ છે.
