Lalitbhai goes above and beyond to feed hundreds of nomadic families.

 On the second day of lockdown, I received a call from Shri Lalitbhai of Banaskantha’s VSSM inspired public association.

“Ben, we will need to act quickly, the condition of the poor families here is pathetic. We will need to give them food at the earliest!!”

We connected him local administration of Banaskantha.

Lalitbhai also pledged to mobilize all his contacts to pitch in to help during this crisis. He knew he had to respond swiftly hence,  instead of waiting for others  Lalitbhai began with his own home. Lalitbhai’s family went above and beyond to help these families as they began sending out cooked meals for these families.  Other team members from VSSM’s public association;  Balubhai, Gulabhai, Balvantbhai also joined Lalitbhai.

Cooking at an event for 200 to 500 persons for a day or two is ok but doing the same on an everyday basis is a huge challenge that Lalitbhai has taken upon him in spite of financial limitations. There are individuals especially from Palanpur who are also contributing to his efforts. As a result of these endeavours, many nomadic settlements of Palanpur have received regular meals since the lockdown.

A big salute and thank you to Lalitbhai, Balubhai, Gulabhai and Balvantbhai, you have portrayed the true spirit of VSSM.

Lalitbhai, please remember we are just a phone call away whenever you need us. It is important Palanpur also takes note of Lalitbhai’s perseverance. Our usual belief that it takes lots of money to be able to give back to the society has been proved wrong by efforts taken up by Lalitbhai.

Palanpur please rise up and support Lalitbhai.

Our country has been able to stand up to such this catastrophic challenge because of hundreds of Lalitbhais around us and we salute these noble souls.

એ સિવાય લલીતભાઈના પોતાના સંપર્કો પણ ખૂબ. એમણે એ બધાને

આ મહામારીમાં એકબીજા સાથે જોડવાનો નિર્ધાર કર્યો.

જો કે શરૃઆત કરી પોતના ઘરે રસોઈ બનાવવાથી... અહીંયા લલીતભાઈની ભાવના સેવાની ખરી પણ પરિવાર તો એમનાથીયે ચડીયાતો નીકળ્યો. સૌ પ્રેમથી બે ટંક રસોઈ બનાવીને ગરીબ, વંચિત વિચરતી જાતિના લોકોને પહોંચાડવા માંડ્યા.

અમારી vssm લોકસંગઠનની ટીમના બલુભાઇ, ગુલાબભાઇ. બળવંતભાઇ પણ લલીતભાઈ સાથે જોડાયા.

આપણા ઘરે એક દિવસનો પ્રસંગ હોય અને બસો - પાંચસો માણસોનું જમવાનું બનાવવાનું હોય તોય આપણે થાકી જઈએ છીએ. જ્યારે અહીંયા તો લલીતભાઈએ આ સેવાયજ્ઞ કેટલા દિવસોથી શરૃ કર્યો છે.

આર્થિક રીતે એવી કોઈ જોરદાર સ્થિતિ નથી. પણ મનની ભાવના બહુ ઊંચી છે.. મદદ કરવાવાળા મળી રહે છે અને જુઓ પાલનપુર સીટીની ઘણી વસાહતો સચવાઈ ગઈ છે..

થેક્યુ લલીતભાઈ, બલુભાઈ, ગુલાબભાઈ, બળવંતભાઈ તમે સંસ્થાના સાચા અને સંનિષ્ઠ કાર્યકર છો.

જ્યાં અટકો ત્યાં કહેજો અમે છીએ... પાલનપુરની પ્રજા પણ લલીતભાઈ અને મિત્રોની સેવાની નોંધ લે એ જરૃરી...

પૈસા ટકે સુખી હોઈએ તો જ સેવા થાય એ વાત લલીતભાઈએ ખોટી સાબિત કરી છે..

લલીતભાઈ અને ટીમને પ્રણામ.. ફરી અટકો ત્યાં અમે છીએ... પાલનપુર વાસીઓને પણ મદદ માટે આહવાન..

We are coming together in Palanpur on October 14th 2017 to let the world know that we exist. The number of people arriving is going to be huge for sure. Such a measure of gathering calls for some advance planning and preparation. The organizers are nomadic and de-notified communities, hence there had to be some distribution of responsibilities!!

We held a meeting in Deesa to assign responsibilities to the community leaders of Patan and Banaskantha. The prolonged discussion was followed by deciding on the agenda for that day. We announced that those willing to take responsibility can stay back while others may leave and come at the venue on 14th. There were around 150+ leaders present in the meeting, we were hoping that 40-50 of them would stay back but, to our utter surprise not a single person stood up to leave!! We changed our seating arrangement and went in the corner so that we could have more focused discussion within a smaller group  but all of them overwhelmed us with the requests to assign responsibilities. “You do not worry about my community, we are all coming!” we were assured by each of them!!

Such overwhelming response means that these communities are tired, they are tired of waiting for these never-ending delays to come to an end. They are eager to talk about the little efforts that are required to change their lives for better!! They will not be opposing or agitating, they are gathering  to make everyone realize that they too exist….  

 ‘અમે પણ છીએ’

કહેવા 14મીએ પાલનપુર ભેગા થવાના. મોટી સંખ્યામાં લોકો આવવાના એ નક્કી. વ્યવસ્થા અને આયોજન મોટુ. વળી નિમંત્રક અને આયોજન કરનાર તમામ વિચરતી વિમુક્ત જાતિ એટલે જવાબદારીની વહેંચણી પણ કરવાની.

ડીસામાં પાટણ અને બનાસકાંઠામાં રહેતા વિચરતી વિમુક્ત જાતિના આગેવાનો જવાબદારીની વહેંચણી માટે ભેગા થયા. લાંબી ચર્ચા પછી શું કરીશુંની વાત કરી, જેને જવાબદારી લેવી ને નિભાવવી હોય એ બેસે બાકીના વ્યક્તિઓને 14મીએ મળીશું એમ કહીને જવા કહ્યું. દોઢસો કરતાં વધુ આગેવાન ઉપસ્થિત હતા. અમને હતુ કે, ચાલીસ પચાસ માણસ બેસસે પણ આ તો જબરૃ થયું એકેય આગેવાન હલ્યા નહીં. અમે જગ્યા બદલી. એક બાજુ ખુણામાં જઈને બેઠા તો ત્યાંય વીંટળાઈને, ‘અમને કો અમે શું કરીએ. બાકી મારી નાતની ચિંતા તમે છોડી દો એતો આખી આબ્બાની.’

થાક્યા છે લોકો એટલે કોઈના વિરોધ માટે નહીં પણ અમને શાંતિથી જીવવા નાની મદદ કરોની વાત કરવા તત્પર થયા છે... સ્વયં ભૂ દરેક વ્યક્તિ પોતાનો આગેવાન લો બોલો છે ને મજાની વાત....
