 The people living in the lower settlement of Dhroi village in Khedbrahma of Sabarkantha shared their concern with us:

‘As long as this pond holds water, we have the right to drinking water. We also use this water for farming. But the pond is shallow, so it cannot store much water. Because of this, we do not get enough water for the winter crop. Once the pond dries up, we have to carry pots on our heads or cans in our hands and walk long distances to fetch water. Even giving water to our cattle becomes difficult.’

The people living in the lower settlement receive water through a pipeline connected to the pond. But once the pond dries up, the pipeline also runs dry.

Through the joint partnership of the government’s Sujalam Sufalam Yojana and Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation,we undertook the work of deepening this pond. Earlier, the water in the pond would dry up by the end of winter. Now, after the excavation, the villagers are hopeful that water will remain available until summer. They also believe they will now be able to cultivate a proper winter crop.

Apart from this, the villagers requested that a hand pump be installed. Their economic condition is weak. Most of them own just one or two vighas of land. On these small farms, they grow enough maize or wheat to feed their families for the year. Beyond this, they work as laborers wherever they can find employment nearby. In such circumstances, constructing a hand pump on their own is impossible for them.

The government should ideally provide a water supply system, but for some reason it has not happened yet. ‘Nal Se Jal’ — water through taps to every household — still remains a distant dream here.

We will try our best to arrange a hand pump. And now that the pond has been deepened and can hold more water, there is hope that the hand pump too will have a sustainable water source.

When we asked the villagers when this pond was originally dug, they replied, ‘We do not remember.’

There are countless such ponds still waiting to be restored. If these ponds are revived and filled with water, many water-related problems can find lasting solutions.

We did whatever we could from our side. Special thanks to respected Pratulbhai Shroff. His partnership with the government made this pond restoration possible. Since the tribal families do not own tractors, the work of removing and transporting the excavated soil was carried out through his support.

So far, 380 ‘Jal Mandirs’ (water reservoirs) have been restored. In the coming years, the goal is to restore 1,000 Jal Mandirs. May God help fulfill this noble mission.”

આ તળાવમાં જેટલો સમય પાણી ભરાયેલું રહે એટલો સમય માટે અમને પીવાના પાણીનું હખ રહે. ખેતીમાં પણ અમે આ પાણી વાપરીએ. પણ તળાવ છીછરુ એટલે એમાં ઝાઝુ પાણી ન ભરાય. એટલે શિયાળુ પાકમાં અમને પુરતુ પાણી ન મળે. આ પાણી સુકાય એટલે અમારે માથે બેડા કાં હાથમાં ડબ્બા લઈને દૂર દૂર પાણી ભરવા જવું પડે. ઢોરને પાણી પીવડાવવામાં પણ તકલીફ પડે."

સાબરકાંઠાના ખેડબ્રહ્માના ધરોઈ(ધ્રોઈ)ગામના નીચા ફળિયામાં રહેતા લોકોએ આ વાત કરી. તળાવમાંથી એક પાઈપ વાટે નીચા ફળિયામાં રહેતા લોકોને પાણી મળે. પણ તળાવ સુકાય એટલે પાઈપમાં પાણી ન આવે. 

સરકારની સુજલામ સુફલામ યોજના અને ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશનની સંયુક્ત ભાગીદારીમાં અમે આ તળાવ ખોદ્યું. શિયાળો ઉતરતા તળાવમાંથી પાણી સુકાઈ જતું. હવે તળાવ ખોદાતા ઉનાળા સુધી પાણી રહે તેવી લોકોને આશા છે. શિયાળુ પાક પુરતો લઈ શકાશે એવી પણ એમને આશા છે. 

આ સિવાય લોકોએ એક હેન્ડપંપ બનાવી અપો તો સારુ એવી વાત કરી. એમની આર્થિક દશા નબળી છે. એક - બે વીધા જમીનના આ માલીકો. એમાં એ નાનકડી ખેતી કરે જેથી આખા વર્ષની મકાઈ કે ઘઉં એ પોતાના પરિવાર માટે પકવી શકે. આ સિવાય આજુબાજુ જ્યાં પણ મજૂરી મળે ત્યાં એ જાય. આવામાં પોતાના માટે હેન્ડપંપ જાતે બનાવવાનું તો એ કરી ન શકે. સરકાર દ્વારા પાણીની વ્યવસ્થા થવી જોઈએ પણ એ કોઈકકારણસર નથી થઈ. નલ સે જલ તો અહીંયા ક્યારે થશે એ સવાલ છે.

હેન્ડપંપ થાય એવો પ્રયત્ન કરીશું. ને તળાવ ખોદાયું એમાં પાણી ભરાયું એટલે હેન્ડપંપમાં પણ પાણી મળી રહેશે. 

આ તળાવ ક્યારે ખોદાયું તો એવું લોકોને પુછ્યું તો એમણે કહ્યું, અમને યાદ નથી. અસંખ્ય તળાવો છે જે ખોદાવવાની વાટ જોઈ રહ્યા છે. એ બધા ખોદાય ને એમાં પાણી ભરાય તો પાણીની સમસ્યાનો ઉકેલ આવી શકે..

ખેર અમે અમારાથી બનતું કર્યું. આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ નો ઘણો આભાર. સરકાર સાથે એમણે ભાગીદારી કરી એટલે આ તળાવ ખોદાવવાનું શક્ય બન્યું. કારણ આદિવાસી પરિવારો પાસે પોતાના ટ્રેક્ટર ન હોય એટલે માટી ઉપાડવાનું કામ એમણે કર્યું.

મૂર્તિની સ્થાપના આપણે તેની પ્રાણ પ્રતિષ્ઠા અને પૂજા કરી કરીએ છીએ. બસ તેવી જ રીતે અમે અમારા વૃક્ષ મંદિરની સ્થાપના થાય ત્યારે હર એક ઝાડને અમે વિધિવત પૂજા કરીને સ્થાપીએ.

Just as we perform rituals and worship when installing an idol, in the same way, when establishing our tree temple, we ceremoniously worship and consecrate each tree.

Our mission to plant and nurture trees is now bearing fruit.

In Chekra village of Banaskantha, around 5,500 trees were planted with blessings and rituals, thanks to the support of Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation (KRSF) and APMC – Lakhani.

The founder of KRSF, respected Pratulbhai Shroff, was specially present at this event.

Through KRSF, support has been extended for planting and nurturing over 400,000 trees so far.

Pratulbhai continues to be a driving force not just in the welfare of people, but also in the well-being of all living beings.

His philosophy—of using his wealth for the good of all life on Earth—is truly worthy of salute and deep respect.

There’s much to learn from him.

In Chekra, the tree plantation was largely made possible through the generous support of #KRSF, and #APMC-Lakhani, who contributed 5,500 saplings and marked their participation meaningfully.

Such collaboration between organizations and villages is essential and desirable.

In every village, there are always a few families whom God has blessed with abundance.

What matters most is their willingness to share that abundance with others.

In Chekra, we began by worshipping the trees and formally installing Vruksha Dev (Tree God).

Local MLA Shri Keshaji Chauhan and his team were present for the event and extended their active support.

The managers of Chekra Gaushala and Mahant Shri also warmly welcomed everyone.

Naranbhai, Chairman of APMC – Lakhani, along with his active team, participated enthusiastically.

Many villagers came together to offer prayers and personally plant the trees.

Besides this, several well-wishers from Chekra and neighboring villages, who have consistently supported VSSM’s efforts, were present to mark the occasion.

Everyone clicked selfies with the trees, capturing memories of the moment.

From the VSSM team, Naranbhai, Jorabhai, Ratnabhai, Hareshbhai, Alpesh, Ashwinbhai and others worked hard to make this event a success.

VSSM feels honored to play a role in such meaningful work.

May the Divine always allow us to be instruments in such noble endeavors—this is our humble prayer.

વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનું અમારુ અભિયાન હવે રંગ લાવી રહ્યું છે. બનાસકાંઠાના ચેકરાગામમાં 5500 જેટલા વૃક્ષો ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન (KRSF) અને APMC – લાખણીની મદદથી વૃક્ષનું પૂજન કરીને વાવ્યા.

KRSF ના સ્થાપક આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ આ કાર્યક્રમમાં ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા. KRSF થકી અત્યાર સુધી 4 લાખ કરતા વધારે વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવા મદદ કરવામાં આવી છે. પ્રતુલભાઈ માણસોના કલ્યાણની સાથે સાથે સમગ્ર જીવસૃષ્ટિના કલ્યાણના કાર્યોમાં નિમિત્ત બની રહ્યા છે. આમ તો મળેલી સંપદા સમગ્ર જીવ સૃષ્ટિના કલ્યાણમાં ખર્ચવાની એમની ભાવનાને પ્રણામ કરવા ઘટે. એમની પાસેથી અનેકોએ શીખવા જેવું છે.

ચેકરામાં વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા તેમાં મહત્તમ મદદ #KRSFની આમાં #APMC – લાખણીએ 5500 વૃક્ષો આપી પોતાની સહભાગીતા નોંધાવી. ગામે ગામ આ પ્રકારની ભાગીદારી થાય તે પણ ઈચ્છનીય.

દરેક ગામોમાં કેટલાક પરિવારો એવા હોય છે જેમને ઈશ્વરે સુખ આપ્યું છે. બસ આ સુખને અન્યોને વહેંચવા માટે તેઓ સહમત થાય એ અગત્યનું.

ચેકરામાં વૃક્ષ પૂજન કરીને વૃક્ષ દેવનું સ્થાપન કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું ને આ વિસ્તારના જાગતલ ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી કેશાજી ચૌહાણ તેમજ તેમની ટીમ આ કાર્ય માટે ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહી. ચેકરા ગૌશાળાના સંચાલકો, મહંત શ્રી સૌએ પણ ઉપસ્થિતિ સૌને આવકાર્યા. APMC – લાખણીના ચેરમેન નારણભાઈ તેમજ તેમની ટીમ પણ એકદમ સક્રિય. વૃક્ષો પૂજન માટે ગામના સૌ મોટી સંખ્યામાં ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા ને પૂજન કરીને પોતાના હસ્તે વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા.

આ સિવાય સંસ્થાના કાર્યમાં સદાય મદદરૃપ થતા ચેકરા આસપાસના ગામોના અનેક સ્વજનો આ કાર્યક્રમમાં ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા. સૌએ વૃક્ષ સાથે સેલ્ફી પણ પડાવી.

VSSM ટીમના નારણભાઈ, જોરાભાઈ, રત્નાભાઈ, હરેશભાઈ, અલ્પેશ, અશ્વિનભાઈ વગેરે સૌની મહેનત આ કાર્યક્રમ સફળ બનાવવા રહી.

From Drought to Growth: Vatadau’s Remarkable Tree Plantation Story...

We want to plant trees in our village.

We decided to hold a meeting with the villagers to discuss it. If the villagers are ready to take responsibility for this initiative, then we will certainly move forward with planting trees.

This conversation took place with Shri Bhemabhai Rabari, a respected leader from Vatadau village in Banaskantha, who then organized a meeting with the villagers.

During the meeting, many villagers expressed concern:

“We already struggle to get drinking water—how can we possibly take care of trees?”

Initially, even we were inclined to step back from the plan.

But then, the Sarpanch stepped in and said, “I will arrange water for the trees, no matter how difficult it is. Just place your trust in me.”

We trusted him.

With support from Ashwinbhai Kothari of Winro Commercial India Ltd., we planted 4,000 trees in the village.

We used to receive reports about the trees’ healthy growth, but hadn’t yet visited in person.

Recently, we had begun water conservation work in Rajasthan. On our way back from Barmer, our team member Narabhai suggested:

"Didi, let’s stop by Vatadau. Last year we planted 4,000 trees, and this year we’re planting another 10,000—let’s go see how it’s going."

So, we went to Vatadau.

To our delight, we saw that the trees planted during last Diwali had grown beautifully.

Thanks to the care taken by tree friends (village volunteers), the Sarpanch, and several aware villagers, the trees were thriving.

Despite the ongoing water shortage, the Sarpanch and the tree volunteers managed to strategically divide the village’s water resources so the trees could survive and grow.

This level of planning and commitment is something truly worth learning from.

If every village could grow at least 25,000 trees, the entire ecosystem of the region would begin to change—especially in terms of the environment.

We just hope more people wake up to this cause.

અમારા ગામમાં વૃક્ષો વાવવા છે

ગ્રામજનો સાથે એક બેઠક રાખી વાત કરીએ. ગ્રામજનો સૌ જવાબદારી સાથે આ કાર્ય કરવા તૈયાર થાય તો આપણે ચોક્કસ વૃક્ષો વાવીશું.

બનાસકાંઠાના વાતડાઉગામના આગેવાન શ્રી ભેમાભાઈ રબારી સાથે અમારી આ વાત થઈ ને એમણે ગ્રામજનો સાથે બેઠક આયોજીત કરી. બેઠકમાં સૌએ ગામમાં પીવાનું પાણી મેળવવામાં તકલીફ છે ત્યાં વૃક્ષો તો કેવી રીતે થાય એવી વાત કરી. 

અમે પણ નથી કરવું એમ નક્કી કર્યું. પણ સરપંચ શ્રીએ કહ્યું, હું ગમે રીતે પાણીની વ્યવસ્થા કરીશ, એક વખત ભરોષો કરો. અમે વિશ્વાસ કર્યો. 4000 વૃક્ષો આદરણીય અશ્વિનભાઈ કોઠારી વિનરો કોર્મશિયલ ઈન્ડિયા લિ.અ કંપનીની મદદથી વાવ્યા. વૃક્ષો વવાયા પછી વૃક્ષો સરસ થયા છે એના રીપોર્ટ મળ્યા કરે પણ રૃબરૃ જવાનું નહોતું થયું.

હમણાં રાજસ્થાનમાં અમે જળસંચયના કાર્યો શરૃ કર્યા. બાડમેરથી પરત ફરતા હતા ત્યાં અમારા કાર્યકર નારણભાઈએ કહ્યું, દીદી આપણે વાતડાઉ જઈ આવ્યા. 4000 વૃક્ષો ગયા વર્ષે વાવ્યા હતા તે અને આ વર્ષે બીજા 10,000 વૃક્ષો વાવી રહ્યા છીએ એ જોઈ લઈએ.

એ પછી વાતડાઉ પહોંચ્યા ને ગયા વર્ષે છેક દિવાળી ઉપર વાવેલા વૃક્ષોનો ઉછેર જોઈને રાજી થયો. વૃક્ષમિત્ર તેમજ સરપંચ શ્રી અને ગામના કેટલાક જાગૃત વ્યક્તિઓની કાળજીના કારણે વૃક્ષો સરસ ઉછરી રહ્યા હતા. 

પાણીની તકલીફ છે પણ વૃક્ષમિત્ર અને સરપંચ શ્રીએ સૂઝબૂઝથી ગામના પાણીનું વિભાજન કર્યું જેના કારણે વૃક્ષો ઉછરી શક્યા. મારા ખ્યાલથી આ શીખવા જેવી વાત. 

દરેક ગામમાં ઓછામાં ઓછા 25,000 વૃક્ષો ઉછરે તો વિસ્તારની આખી તાસીર ખાસ કરીને પર્યાવરણને લઈને બદલાઈ જાય. બસ સૌ જાગે એમ ઈચ્છીએ..

 It is estimated that more than 7,000 borewells have been abandoned in the Diyodar and Lakhani regions. Borewell technology has only emerged over the past 35–40 years. In these four decades, excessive water extraction has caused the water tables to drop drastically, leading to dried aquifers.

Since 2014, we have been engaged in water conservation efforts in North Gujarat. Now, even the government has become active in this matter—though it has become a necessity. Among the 150 districts in India facing severe water crises, Banaskantha is one, and Lakhani is part of that.

A workshop was organized with the village leaders from all villages in the Lakhani taluka under the guidance of Diyodar and Lakhani MLA Shri Keshaji Chauhan and through the collective efforts of VSSM (Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch).

During this meeting, the MLA formed committees in each village to carry out water-related work, and guidance was given to ensure the committees function effectively.

VSSM has constructed many ponds and check dams in the area. The local villagers have also agreed to raise water charges and clean and deepen all local reservoirs.

The construction of 'Jal Mandirs' (temples of water, or water bodies) is essential for future generations. If we don’t create a “bank of water” for them, what will they survive on? That is the critical question—hence the importance of water conservation efforts.

It was also stated in the workshop that in any village where people contribute ₹200,000 to ₹250,000 for the renovation of ponds and offer their tractors for the removal of soil, VSSM will contribute ₹350,000 for excavation work.

Water cannot be manufactured, so conserving it is crucial. The time has come to wake up and let go of selfish interests—otherwise, it may soon be too late.

દિયોદર અને લાખણી વિસ્તારમાં બંધ પડેલા બોરવેલની સંખ્યા 7000 થી વધારે હોવાનું તારણ છે. આમ તો બોરવેલની ટેકનોલોજી પાછલા પાંત્રીસ – ચાલીસ વર્ષમાં આવી. આ ચાલીસ વર્ષમાં અમાપ પાણી ઉલેચાયા એટલે તળ તૂટ્યા અને જળ ખૂટ્યા. અમે 2014 થી ઉત્તર ગુજરાતમાં જળસંચયના કાર્યો કરીએ. હવે તો સરકાર પણ આ બાબતે સક્રિય થઈ છે. જો કે થવું પડે એવી સ્થિતિ થઈ છે. ભારતના દોઢસો જિલ્લાઓ જેઓ જળ બાબતે ગંભીર સ્થિતિમાં છે એમાં બનાસકાંઠા એક છે. લાખણી પણ એમાંનો એક. 

લાખણી તાલુકામાં આવેલા તમામ ગામોના આગેવાનો સાથે એક કાર્યશાળા લાખણી અને દિયોદરના ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી કેશાજી ચૌહાણની નિશ્રામાં અને VSSM ના સહિયારા પ્રયાસથી આયોજીત થઈ. 

આ બેઠકમાં ગામે ગામ પાણીના કામો કરવા માટે કમીટીની રચના ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી દ્વારા કરવામાં આવી અને આ કમીટી સઘન કામ કરી શકે તે માટે માર્ગદર્શન પણ આપવામાં આવ્યું. 

આ વિસ્તારમાં vssm એ ઘણા તળાવો અને ગ્રામવનો કર્યા છે. આ કાર્ય માટે ગ્રામજનો પોતાની રીતે પણ જળકર ઉઘરાવી ગામના તમામ જળાશયોની સાફ સફાઈ તેમજ જળાશય ઊંડા કરવાનું કાર્ય કરે તે માટે પણ વાત કરવામાં આવી. 

જલમંદિરનું નિર્માણ ભાવી પેઢી માટે અગત્યનું છે. પાણીની બેંક જો ભાવી પેઢીને નહીં આપીએ તો ખાઈશું શું એ સવાલ છે. માટે જળસંચયના કાર્યો કરવા અગત્યના છે. જે ગામ જલમંદિર એટલે તળાવના નવીનીકરણ માટે બે થી અઢી લાખનો ફાળો એકત્રીત કરશે એને માટી ઉપાડવા માટે પોતાના ટ્રેક્ટર આપશે તે ગામોમાં VSSM પોતે સાડા ત્રણ લાખ ખોદકામ માટે આપશે એવી વાત પણ આ કાર્યશાળા દરમ્યાન કરવામાં આવી.

જળ બનાવી નથી શકાતું માટે એને બચાવવું અગત્યનું. હવે સ્વાર્થ મુકી જાગવાનો સમય આવી ગયો છે નહીં ખરેખર ઘણું મોડુ થઈ જશે.

Once the lake, which was once thriving with life, has dried up, the terrain, farming, cultural traditions, and the environment suffer significant decline. When the lake is filled with water, the soil remains lustrous, moist and fertile. Understanding this, our mission is to rejuvenate the lakes—Jal Mandirs. Since our campaign began in 2014, we have renovated 340 Jal Mandirs, and the mission continues to progress well.

Wardhana Muwada is a lovely village in the Gandhinagar district. However, water has vanished from the lower regions of this village, making it difficult to obtain drinking water. As a result, no one was willing to marry off their daughters to this village. Nephews also refused to visit their maternal uncles during vacations due to the water shortage. (Visiting and staying in maternal uncles' homes used to be a well-established tradition in villages many years ago.) 

Whenever water trucks were announced, both children and elders would rush to fetch water using whatever utensils they could find. Kalpeshbhai from the village recalls, "We would even fill the pot we used in the toilet. Women had to carry water pots on their heads from far-off places, which led to many women losing their hair." The water scarcity in the village resulted in tragic consequences.

Eventually, the government noticed the dire situation in this village. Gandhinagar's Dehgam had been classified as a dark zone, which refers to areas where water levels have reached dangerously low levels. In response, the government filled the lake in Wardhana Muwada with water from the Narmada River, alleviating the village's water scarcity issue. Once the lake was filled, the village dug a borewell nearby, bringing joy to the residents as they finally accessed drinking water. 

Although the village lake is large, it is not deep enough. If the lake were dug deeper, its capacity to hold water would increase. We began the deepening of the lake during the Diksha event for Sunitaben and Hrushi, with blessings from Pujya Hematnasuri Swarji Maharaj, who is beloved by the younger generation. The villagers also participated in this endeavor.

We organized a small gathering at the lake on the day we began excavating. The Gandhinagar MLA and local villagers were in attendance. As the lake deepens, its capacity for water retention will expand, allowing farmers to use the water for their crops for a longer period.

A great deal of energetic effort was contributed by our activists Tohidbhai and Maheshbhai in collaboration with village leader Kalpeshbhai.

VSSM is thrilled to initiate a water conservation mission across 34 talukas where the water situation is challenging to manage. 

We have resolved to construct 1,000 JalMandirs in the coming years. We pray that God fulfills our aspiration!

તળાવ પાણીથી ભરેલા રહે તો જમીન પણ પાણીદાર રહે. અમે આ વાતને સમજીએ માટે જ જલ મંદિરના જીર્ણોદ્ધાર ના કામો કરીએ. 2014થી આરંભેલી આ ઝૂંબેશથી અત્યાર સુધી 340 જલમંદિરોનો જીર્ણોદ્ધાર કર્યો ને આ કાર્ય હજુ આગળ વધતું જ જાય છે.

ગાંધીનગરનું વર્ધાના મુવાડા. મજાનું ગામ. ધરતીકંપ પછી આ ગામના પેટાળમાંથી પાણી ગાયબ થઈ ગયું. પીવાના પાણી માટે તકલીફ પડે. પોતાની દીકરી આ ગામમાં આપવા કોઈ રાજી નહીં. તે ત્યાં સુધી કે વેકેશનમાં ભાણેજીયા મામાના ઘરે ન આવે.

પાણી આવ્યાની બૂમ પડે કે ઘરમાં નાના મોટા સૌ પાણી ભરવા બેસી જાય. ને જેટલા વાસણમાં ભરી શકાય એટલા વાસણમાં પાણી ભરી લે. ગામના કલ્પેશભાઈ કહે, "શૌચાલય જવા માટે વપરાતુ ડબલુ પણ અમે ભરી લઈએ. બહેનોના માથાના વાળ પાણી ઊંચકી ઊંચકીને જતા રહ્યા." ગામની પાણી પારાયણ બહુ મોટી.

ખેર સરકારનું ધ્યાન આ ગામ પર પડ્યું. જો કે ગાંધીનગરનું દેહગામ ડાર્કઝોન માં. ડાર્ક ઝોન એટલે જેના પેટાળ જોખમી સ્થિતિએ પહોંચ્યા છે તે વિસ્તાર.

સરકારે વર્ધાના મુવાડા ગામના તળાવમા મા નર્મદાના નીર નાંખ્યા. જેનાથી ગામને રાહત થઈ. તળાવ નજીક ગામે બોરવેલ કર્યોને હવે ગામને પીવના પાણીનું સુખ થયું. 

ગામનું તળાવ ઘણું મોટુ પણ એ બરાબર ઊંડુ નહીં.જો સરખુ ખોદય. ડેમ જેવું થાય તો પાણી ધારણ કરવાની ક્ષમતા વધી જાય. બસ અમે યુવા હૃદય સમ્રાટ પૂ. આચાર્યશ્રી હેમત્નસૂરી સ્વર્જી મહારાજના આશીર્વાદથી સુનિતાબેન અને ઋષિની દીક્ષા નિમિત્તે તેમજ ગ્રામજનોના સહયોગથી તળાવ ઊંડુ કરવાનું કાર્ય આરંભ્યું. 

તળાવ ખોદવાનું શરૃ કરવું હતું તે દિવસે તળાવમાં જ નાનકડો કાર્યક્રમ આયોજીત કર્યો. જેમાં ગાંધીનગરના ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી બલરાજસિંહ ચૌહાણ તેમજ ગ્રામજનો ખાસ ઉપસ્થિતિ રહ્યા. તળાવ ઊંડુ થતા એની જળ ધારણની ક્ષમતા વધશે. જેથી ખેડૂતો પણ ખેતીમાં પાણીનો લાંબા વખત સુધી ઉપયોગ કરી શકશે. 

અમારા કાર્યકર તોહીદભાઈ તેમજ મહેશભાઈની ગામના આગેવાન કલ્પેશભાઈ સાથે મળી તળાવ ઊંડુ થાય તે માટે ઘણી મહેતન..

પાણીની સ્થિતિ જ્યાં કપરી સ્થિતિ છે તેવા 34 તાલુકાઓમાંથી શક્યમાં જળસંચયના કાર્યો આરંભ્યાનો  VSSM ને આનંદ છે.

The people of village Padardi regretted not filtering and deepening the lake every year, especially after seeing how it had become as shallow as a saucer. If they had maintained the lake regularly, it wouldn't have required a significant amount of money to restore it. Now, however, a large sum of money is needed to restore the lake, which, for them, is a "Jalmandir."

Kakar village is located next to Padardi in Banaskantha, where families of florists reside. We strive to support the welfare of these families. Whenever we visit Banaskantha, we stay in Kakar, which is why Paadardi has caught our attention during our travels back and forth.

The people of Paadardi are aware that we rejuvenate lakes and transform them into Jalmandirs. They requested our help to deepen their village lakes. With the assistance of the GIA organization, we worked on deepening the lakes located on the village border. As a result, water from the river Maa Reva-Narmada flowed in, filling the entire lakes to the brim.

In Paadardi village, the water level has dropped to between 1,000 and 1,100 feet deep, causing five to ten borewells to fail each year. Given this situation, recharging the lakes solely with monsoon water seemed impossible. However, the government supported the villagers through the Maa Narmada initiative. Two lakes, excavated with the assistance of VSSM and the Vimukta Foundation, were successfully filled with water. As a result, farmers will no longer need to lift water from a depth of a thousand feet. Traditionally, seventy to eighty horsepower motors have been required to operate borewells. However, only a five-horsepower motor is needed to run a machine placed in a lake to draw water for irrigation.

The reduction in electricity bills is a notable benefit. Additionally, the wells in the surrounding area are being recharged thanks to the water that percolates through the bottoms of the lakes. These lakes benefit not only the farmers of Padardi village but also those from neighborhood village of Nikoi.

Seeing the filled lakes, the eyes of many farmers in the village fill with tears. The villagers say, "If the lake was not dug, the billions of liters of water that have been filled with it today, would not have been filled."

When the Jalmandir is filled with water, it not only supports the lives of farmers but also brings happiness to all living beings in the surroundiing world!

Thanks to you, GIA,  and the support of many well-wishers like you, we have successfully rejuvenated 325 lakes so far.

We are committed to rejuvenating 1,000 Jalmandirs, and we pray to God to help us achieve this noble, divine goal.

કોઈ કહે અવસર આવ્યો,

ગામના છીછરી રકાબી જેવા થઈ ગયેલા તળાવો જોઈને દર વર્ષે તળાવ ગાળવાનું કેમ ન કર્યું એવો અફસોસ પાદરડીગામના સૌને થયો. જો દર વર્ષે તળાવ ગાળ્યું હોત તો બહુ મોટો ખર્ચો ન થાત. પણ રકાબી જેવા આમ તો એક હતું તળાવ એવી સ્થિતિએ પહોંચેલું તળાવ - જલમંદિર ગાળવા લાખો રૃપિયા જોઈએ. 

બનાસકાંઠાના પાદરડીની બાજુમાં કાકર ગામ ત્યાં ફૂલવાદી પરિવારો રહે. અમે આ પરિવારોના કલ્યાણના કામોમાં નિમિત્ત બનીએ. આમ તો બનાસકાંઠા હોઈએ ત્યારે રોકાણ પર કાકરમા. એટલે પાદરડી તો જતા આવતા ધ્યાને આવે. 

જલમંદિરના નિર્માણનું કાર્ય અમે કરીએ એવી પાદરડી વાસીઓને ખબર એટલે એમણે પોતાના ગામના તળાવોને ઊંડા કરવા વિનંતી કરી. ગામની સીમમાં આવેલું તળાવ અમે GIA સંસ્થાની મદદથી ઊંડુ કર્યું. આ ઊંડા કરેલા તળાવમાં મા રેવા- નર્મદાનું પાણી આવ્યું ને આખુ તળાવ સરસ ભરાયું.

પાદરડી ગામમાં પાણીના તળ 1000 થી 1100 ફૂટે પહોંચ્યા. દર વર્ષે પાંચ - દસ બોરવેલ ફેઈલ થઈ જાય. આવી સ્થિતિમાં માત્ર ચોમાસાના પાણીથી તળ રીચાર્જ થાય એ અસંભવ લાગતું હતું. પણ સરકાર મા નર્મદાના માધ્યમથી ગામલોકોની વહારે આવી અને VSSM, વિુમક્ત ફાઉન્ડેશનની મદદથી ખોદેલા બેય તળાવો સરસ ભરાયા. જેના કારણે ખેડૂતોને હવે હજાર ફૂટથી પાણી ઉલેચવા નહીં પડે. બોરવેલમાં સીત્તેર એંસી હોર્સ પાવરની મોટર ચાલે. પણ તળાવમાં મશીન મુકી પાંચ હોર્સ પાવરની મોટરથી સિંચાઈ માટે પાણી લઈ જઈ શકાય છે.

વીજબીલમાં પણ ફાયદો થયો. વળી તળ પણ તળાવો ભરાવના કારણે રીચાર્જ થઈ રહ્યા છે. પાછુ આ તળાવ ભરાવવાથી માત્ર પાદરડી નહીં પણ નેકોઈ ગામના ખેડૂતોને પણ ફાયદો થયો.

ભરાયેલા તળાવ જોઈને ગામના અનેક ખેડૂતોની આંખમાં ઝળઝળિયા આવી જાય છે. ગામલોકો કહે છે, "જો તળાવ ખોદાયું ન હોત તો આજે જે કરોડો લીટર પાણી એમાં ભરાયું છે એ ન ભરાયું હોત."

જલમંદિરોમાં પાણી ભરાય તો ખેડૂતની સાથે સાથે સમગ્ર જીવ સૃષ્ટિ પણ રાજી...

આભાર GIA તમારા જેવા અનેક સ્વજનોની મદદથી આજે 325 તળાવોના નવીનીકરણ માં અમે નિમિત્ત બની શક્યા છીએ એનો રાજીપો.

Takes on the hue of whatever you mix it with!  

And bestows life to everyone,  

Though aloof from form and color!!

These words by Harvansh Rai Bachchan are truly majestic: "Because water is colorless, it takes on the color of whatever it mixes with." However, on the other hand, in a real world scenario, our hearts will ache when we hear from people living in places where water is scarce or difficult to access.

Kuvaataa village in Banaskantha is facing a severe water crisis. Groundwater levels have plummeted drastically. Water was extracted from a borewell installed by Panchayat, which subsequently got damaged due to the decreased water depth. Even if a new borewell is installed, there is no assurance of finding water.

The village is in urgent need of access to drinking water. Farmers have borewells on their farms, but each year, some of these borewells either fail, require new columns to be installed, or experience a drop in water inflow. The situation in Kuvaataa has turned the village into a place that feels abandoned and desolate.

The village leaders of Kuvaataa sent us a message requesting assistance in deepening the lake to collect rainwater. With the support of Rosy Blue Pvt Ltd., we began the excavation of the lake. The villagers are hopeful that filling the lake with water will help raise the groundwater level in the surrounding area. As a result, everyone in the village participated in removing soil from the lake using tractors.

We are thankful to the esteemed Russelbhai Mehta, associated with VSSM. Through his company, Rosy Blue, we are deepening many lakes and planting numerous trees in North Gujarat, more particularly in Banaskantha.

If everyone who has been blessed with wealth from God begins to use their resources for the betterment of others, the world could become a paradise. We are extremely grateful to Russelbhai and his family for their efforts. They are using their wealth to help communities where people are on the brink of dying due to a lack of water.

We dug the Kuvaataa lake a lot deeper. Monsoon-Meghraajaa will definitely be kind, but we will also try to ensure that this lake is filled with water from Maa Reva, the Narmada River.

Shri Keshaji Chauhan, the MLA of Deodar Taluka, is very proactive in his efforts. He is consistently working to bring Narmada's water to his region and address the water scarcity issue. Additionally, he has made the decision to decline any honors until the water problem is resolved.

The village leader and Sarpanch, Shri Tejabhai, is working hard to strengthen Kuvaataa's water resources. Our activist, Naranbhai, and his team are continually considering which village would benefit most from having a lake. We are proud to have such an enthusiastic team on our side.

VSSM and the Vimukt Foundation have currently deepened 336 lakes in North Gujarat, which are now filled with billions of liters of water. We have set a goal to excavate or dig 1,000 lakes in the next ten years. We pray that God will help us achieve this vision.

પાણી જેનો રંગ નથી પણ એ જ્યાં પડે ત્યાં બધુ રંગીન થઈ જાય. જ્યાં પાણી નથી અથવા મળવું મુશ્કેલ છે એ લોકો પાસે જઈએ એમની વાતો સાંભળીએ તો હચમચી જવાય.

બનાસકાંઠાનું કુવાતા. ભૂગર્ભજળ ભયંકર સ્થિતિએ પહોંચ્યા છે. પીવાનું પાણી પંચાયતે બનાવેલા બોરવેલ થી મળતું એ બોરવેલ પણ તળ ઊંડા જવાથી બગડી ગયો. નવો બોરવેલ કરે તો પણ પાણી મળે તેની કોઈ ખાત્રી નથી.

ગામ પીવાના પાણી માટે વલખા મારે એવી હાલત છે. સીમમાં ખેડૂતોએ બોરવેલ કર્યા છે. એ બોરવેલમાંથી પણ દર વર્ષે બોરવેલ ક્યાં ફેઈલ જાય છે ક્યાં નવી કોલમ ઉતારવી પડે ક્યાં તો પાણીની આવક ઘટી છે.

ત્રાહીમામ પોકારી ઉઠે એવી સ્થિતિ કુવાતાની છે.

આવા કુવાતામાં વરસાદી પાણી સંગ્રહ કરવા તળાવ ઊંડુ કરવા માટે અમને ગામના આગેવાનોએ કહેણ મોકલ્યું. રોઝી બ્લ્યુ પ્રા.ઈન્ડિયા. લી. કંપનીની મદદથી અમે તળાવ ખોદવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. ગામના સૌને તળાવમાં પાણી ભરાશે તો તળ ઉપર આવવાની આશા છે એટલે સૌ કોઈ ટ્રેક્ટર થકી માટી ઉલેચવાનું કર્યું.

vssm સાથે સંક્ળાયેલા સ્નેહીજન આદરણીય રસેલભાઈ મહેતાના અમે આભારી છીએ. રોઝી બ્લુ થકી અમે ઉત્તર ગુજરાતમાં ખાસ કરીને બનાસકાંઠામાં ઘણા તળાવો તેમજ વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનું કરી રહ્યા છીએ.

ઈશ્વરે જેેમને ઘન સંપદા આપી છે તે સૌ જીવ કલ્યાણના કાર્યોમાં આ પ્રકારે વાપરવાનું કરે તો દુનિયા રૃડી થઈ જાય. રસેલભાઈ તેમજ તેમના પરિવારના અમે ઘણા આભારી છીએ. એમણે એવી જગ્યાએ પોતાની સંપત્તી વાપરી રહ્યા છે જ્યાં લોકો પાણી વગર જાણે જીવ પર આવી ગયા છે.

કુવાતનું તળાવ તો ઘણું ઊંડુ કર્યું. મેઘરાજા તો મહેરબાન થશે પણ સાથે સાથે મા રેવા એટલે કે નર્મદાના નીર પણ આ તળાવમાં નંખાય એ માટે કોશીશ કરીશું.

દિયોદર તાલુકાના ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી કેશાજી ચૌહાણ પણ જાગતલ છે. એ પોતે નર્મદાના નીર પોતાના તાલુકામાં આવે ને પાણીની સમસ્યાનો ઉકેલ આવે તે માટે સતત પ્રયત્નશીલ છે. એમણે જળની સમસ્યાનું સમાધાન ન થાય ત્યાં સુધી સન્માન ન સ્વીકારવાનો નિર્ણય પણ કર્યો છે.

ગામના સરપંચ શ્રી આગેવાન તેજાભાઈ ને અન્ય સૌ પણ કુવાતા પાણીદાર બને તે માટે મથે. અમારા કાર્યકર નારણભાઈ અને એમની ટીમ પણ સતત ક્યા ગામોમાં તળાવ કરવું, ગામને એનાથી શું ફાયદો થશે એ બાબતે ચિંંતીત..આવી મજાની ટીમ સાથે હોવાનું ગૌરવ.

"We are undertaking the task of constructing water temples in North Gujarat. So far, we have renovated 325 ponds and water temples.

Sometimes we wonder, will we do something for future generations, just like our ancestors and forefathers did for us? The world has seen tremendous changes in the last 50-60 years. Technological innovations have come about, and though they are a blessing, they have also led to challenges.

The importance of water resources, such as ponds, for collecting rainwater, has diminished with the advent of technology and the rise of borewells. As a result, an immense amount of underground water has been depleted. It is said that since 1974, the groundwater level has been decreasing at an average rate of 20 meters per decade.

Understanding this situation, we thought about what we, as responsible citizens of the country, could do, and we began working on the construction of ponds, which is the largest medium for rainwater harvesting.

Many relatives joined us in this effort, and as a result, we have been able to dig around 325 ponds. As summer begins, we have resumed our work on water conservation. With the help of VSSM and Vimukt Foundation, our goal this year is to create a large number of ponds.

With the help of Parikh Foundation in Mumbai, we have started deepening the pond in Bodal village in Banaskantha. The village Sarpanch is extremely enthusiastic. He said, 'Let’s make the pond as big as possible. If needed, we will also contribute.'

We enjoy working in such awakened villages. We are grateful to the Parikh Foundation, respected Vikrambhai, Sonakbhai, Milanbhai, and the entire Parikh family. With their support, we have renovated many water temples.

We humbly request all of you to join us in this work, which is dedicated to serving nature."

 જલમંદિર નિર્માણનું કાર્ય અમે ઉત્તર ગુજરાત કરીએ. અત્યાર સુધી 325 તળાવો- જલમંદિરોનો જીર્ણોદ્ધાર કર્યો. 

ક્યારેક થાય આપણા દાદા, પરદાદા આપણા માટે જે કરી ગયા આપણે આવનારી પેઢી માટે આવું કશું કરીને જશું? દુનિયા આખીમાં જે ફેરફારો થયા તે પાછલા પચાસ - સાહીઠ વર્ષમાં. ટેકનોલોજીનો આવિષ્કાર થયો. એ આશિર્વાદ રૃપ પણ બની પણ ક્યાં એના લીધે જ સ્થિતિ વણસી પણ ખરી.

તળાવો જેવા વરસાદી પાણી સંગ્રહ કરવાના જળ સ્ત્રોતોની મહત્તા ટેકનોલોજી આવી બોરવેલ બન્યા એના કારણે ઘટી. ભૂગર્ભમાંથી અમાપ પાણી ઉલેચાયા. કહે છે, 1974 થી દરેક દાયકામાં ભૂગર્ભજળ 20 મીટરની એવરેજથી ઘટી રહ્યા છે.

આ સ્થિતિ અમને સમજાઈ ને દેશના જવાબદાર નાગરિક તરીકે શું કરી શકીએ એનો વિચાર આવ્યો ને અમે વરસાદી પાણીના સંગ્રહનુ સૌથી મોટુ માધ્યમ એવા તળાવોના નિર્માણનું કાર્ય શરૃ કર્યું.

અનેક સ્વજનો આ કાર્યમાં સાથે જોડાયા જેના કારણે 325 જેટલા તળાવો ખોદી શક્યા. ઉનાળો શરૃ થવાની કગાર પર છે અને અમે જળસંચયના કાર્યો પાછા આરંભ્યા. VSSM અને વિમુક્ત ફાઉન્ડેશનની મદદથી આ વર્ષે મોટી સંખ્યામાં તળાવો કરવાનો લક્ષાંક છે. 

પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશન મુંબઈની મદદથી અમે બનાસકાંઠાના બોડાલ ગામનું તળાવ ઊંડુ કરવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. ગામના સરપંચ એકદમ ઉત્સાહી. એમણે કહ્યું, શક્ય એટલું મોટુ તળાવ કરીએ. જરૃર પડે અમે ભાગીદારી પણ નોંધાવશું.

આવા જાગૃત ગામોમાં કામ કરવું ગમે. પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશન, આદરણીય વિક્રમભાઈ, સોનકભાઈ, મીલનભાઈ અને સમગ્ર પરીખ પરિવારના આભારી છીએ. એમની મદદથી અમે ઘણા જલમંદિરોનો જીર્ણોદ્ધાર કર્યો છે..

સમગ્ર પ્રકૃતિને સાતા આપનારા આ કાર્યમાં જોડાવવા આપ સૌને નમ્ર વિનંતી..

In Anawada of Patan, on the banks of the Saraswati River, there is a gaushala (cow shelter). The shelter has separate enclosures for cows, bulls, calves, and young calves. Although the number of sick cows is high, it is clear that all of them are being well cared for.

We are planting and growing trees in the Anawada Gaushala.

We planted 2,300 trees in one plot and 1,500 trees in another plot of the gaushala. The trees are growing beautifully. The land is sandy, so there was some concern about whether they would grow, but the sacred feelings behind this work seem to be playing a role. These two local forests are supported by two very sacred individuals.

Respected Bipinbhai Shah – from the AnuhPharma family, originally from Patan, a family with noble intentions. With their help, we planted 2,300 trees. With the help of another respected individual, Viralbhai Vyas and his wife Heena Vyas, we planted 1,500 trees. The trees were provided by Jaybhai Shah from Mehsana. The arrangements for drip irrigation, digging the pits, and maintaining the trees were made through the help of these two dear friends associated with VSSM.

All three individuals are wonderful. They help with great love and care, which is why the planted trees are growing so well. We are grateful to all of you.

The individuals managing the gaushala, especially Respected Dineshbhai and other friends, are equally hardworking. Our tree friend, and the one who continuously supervises these sites, is our worker, Hiteshbhai. The effort of our workers Narayanbhai and Mohanbhai also plays a crucial role as they constantly visit and take care of the trees.

When we take care and supervise the trees, they grow well. The affection and attention are also important. When someone cares for them and asks about them, the trees thrive.

Together with VSSM and KRSF, we have planted more than 1.4 million trees, and they are growing magnificently. Many relatives have supported this work, and we are grateful to all.

We are pleased to have played a part in decorating Mother Earth with greenery.

પાટણના અનાવાડામાં સરસ્વતી નદીના કાંઠે ગૌશાળા. ગૌશાળામાં ગાયો, નંદી, આખલા અને વાછરડાના નોખા નોખા વાડા. બિમાર ગાયોની સંખ્યા ઘણી પણ આ બધાની સરસ માવજત લેવાઈ રહ્યાનું જોઈ શકાય.

અમે અનાવાડાની ગૌશાળામાં વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનું કરી રહ્યા છીએ.

ગૌશાળાના બે પ્લોટમાં ક્રમશઃ 2300 અને 1500 વૃક્ષો અમે વાવ્યા. વૃક્ષો સરસ ઉછરી રહ્યા છે. આમ તો જમીન રેતાળ એટલે થોડી ચિંતા પણ થાય કે ઉગશે કે કેમ પણ ક્યાંક પવિત્ર ભાવનાઓ પણ કામ કરે. આ બે ગ્રામ વન માટે અમને જેમણે મદદ કરી એ બેય બહુ પવિત્ર વ્યક્તિઓ.

આદરણીય બિપીનભાઈ શાહ – અનુહફાર્મા પરિવાર. મૂળ પાટણના વતની ને એકદમ ઉમદા ભાવનાવાળો પરિવાર. એમની મદદથી 2300 વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા ને બીજા આદરણીય વિરલભાઈ વ્યાસ અને તેમના પત્ની હીના વ્યાસની મદદથી 1500 વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા. વૃક્ષો વાવવા આપ્યા મહેસાણાના જયભાઈ શાહે. ડ્રીપ, ખાડા, વૃક્ષની દેખરેખ માટે વૃક્ષ મિત્ર આ બધી ગોઠવણ VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા આ બેય સ્વજન મારફત કરી.

ત્રણે વ્યક્તિ મજાના. ખુબ ભાવથી મદદ કરે એટલે વાવેલા વૃક્ષો સરસ ઉછરે. આપ સૌના અમે આભારી છીએ.

ગૌશાળાનું સંચાલન કરનાર સ્વજનો આદરણીય દિનેશભાઈ ને અન્ય મિત્રો પણ એવા જ ખંતીલા. અમારા વૃક્ષ મિત્ર અને સતત આ સાઈટોનું સુપરવિઝન કરે તે અમારા કાર્યકર હરેશભાઈની પણ મહેનત એટલે વૃક્ષો સરસ થાય. અમારા કાર્યકર નારણભાઈ અને મોહનભાઈ પણ સતત આવતા જતા રહે.

માવજત અને દેખરેખ રાખીએ તો વૃક્ષો સરસ ઉછરે. વળી ભાવ પણ અગત્યનો. એનું જતન કરનાર, ખબર પુછનાર કોઈક છે એ વાતથી વૃક્ષ પણ રાજી થાય.

VSSM, KRSF સાથે મળીને 14 લાખથી વધારે વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા જે મજાની રીતે ઉછરી રહ્યા છે. આ કાર્યમાં અનેક સ્વજનોની મદદ મળી છે. સૌના આભારી છીએ.
