 How much to write?

A settlement file is filled with reminders.

A notice was issued in 2015 to vacate the roofs of 44 Bawri families in Ramdevnagar, Ahmedabad, which were obstructed in the TP scheme. The corporation, in return, arranged for permanent residence. Allotted houses in Vejalpur. But the beneficiary had to contribute for these houses. Those whose houses or roofs are broken were not able to make this contribution.

We presented this matter to Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani as well as Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Ishwarbhai Parmar in this regard. He said that the government would immediately pay the contribution and the developing caste welfare department wrote letters to the Ahmedabad corporation.

Before making a contribution, the welfare department wrote a letter saying that the house should be habitable, that is, fixing the windows and doors and giving the water connection to the flat, as a matter of urgency. But the officials of the corporation are not at all working in this matter. Despite constant follow-up from the office of the Chief Minister as well as the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment!

I went to the commissioner's office with Savitabhan when the roofs were broken in Sabarmati. Savitaben cried and said to the officer, "We have a young daughter with whom to sleep on the sidewalk at night, We both take a turn for sleeping in the night in the fear of If someone presses daughter's mouth and picks her up” 

Have you ever imagined this situation?

Forget about the young girl, there are cases where the lustful men took three-year-old daughter off the roof. Such an incident took place in Savarkundla about eighty months ago.

A house is not just four walls but a safe place. I always tell the officers that you have to just work on behalf of this cause. Such tasks should be done without getting a request. God has given you a chance. You need not have to use a single penny out of your pocket .. still?!

A loving request to the officials of Ahmedabad Corporation to do this work. It remains to be seen whether the people will not sit again in front of the corporation playing dishes and rolling pins.

The dream of our esteemed Prime Minister is to give a home to such homeless people by 2022. This dream is not going to be fulfilled by the authorities until such families get a house. A humble appeal to make it right again.

I would have written a little bitter but I feel tired now. Today our worker asked for permission to open the file of Ramdevnagar Volume-2 in my office. An entire file filled these reminders with letters written in this detail. Felt very bad.

I applaud the fact that the corporation gave houses in Sabarmati, but why is the work not done in Ramdevnagar in the same way? I don't really understand.

કેટલું લખ્યા કરવાનું?

સ્મૃતિપત્રોથી જ એક વસાહતની એક ફાઈલ ભરાઈ ગઈ..

અમદાવાદના રામદેવનગરમાં 44 બાવરી પરિવારોના છપરાં- કાચા ઘરો ટીપી સ્કીમમાં નડતરરૃપ હતા તે ખાલી કરવા 2015માં નોટીસ આવી. બદલામાં કાયમી રહેણાંકની વ્યવસ્થા કોર્પોરેશને કરી. વેજલપુરમાં ઘર ફાળવાયા. પણ લાભાર્થીએ આ ઘર માટે ફાળો ભરવાનો હતો. જેમના ઘર કે છાંપરાં તૂટ્યા એની ક્ષમતા આ ફાળો ભરવાની નહીં.

આદરણીય મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી વિજયભાઈ રૃપાણી તેમજ સામાજિક ન્યાય અને અધિકારીતા મંત્રી શ્રી ઈશ્વરભાઈ પરમાર પાસે આ બાબતે રજૂઆત કરી. એમણે તુરત આ ફાળો સરકાર ભરશે તેમ જણાવ્યું ને એ સબબના પત્રો વિકસતી જાતિ કલ્યાણ ખાતાએ અમદાવાદ કોર્પોરેશનને લખ્યા. કલ્યાણ ખાતાએ ફાળો આપતા પહેલાં ઘર રહેવા લાયક એટલે કે બારી બારણાં ઠીક કરવા ને પાણીનું કનેકશન એ ફ્લેટમાં આપી દેવા ટૂંકમાં પ્રાથમિક સગવડ માટે લખ્યું. પણ કોર્પોરેશનના અધિકારી આ બાબતે હલતા જ નથી.

મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી તેમજ સામાજિક ન્યાય અને અધિકારીતા મંત્રી શ્રીની ઓફીસમાંથી સતત ફોલોઅપ છતાં..

સાબરમતીમાં છાપરાં તોડ્યા તે વેળા સવિતાબહેન સાથે હું કમીશનર કચેરીએ ગયેલી. સવીતાબહેને રડતા રડતા અધિકારીને કહેલું, સાહેબ અમારે જુવાન દીકરી છે જેની સાથે રાતના ફૂટપાથ પર સુવાનું. દીકરીનું મોંઢુ દબાવી કોઈ ઉપાડી જાય તો એ બીકે રાતના અમે બેય માણસ ઊંધવાના વારા કરીએ...

ક્યારેય કલ્પના કરી છે.. આ સ્થિતિની..

આમ તો જુવાન શું કામ હવસખોરો તો ત્રણ વર્ષની દીકરીનેય છાપરાંમાંથી ઉપાડી ગયાના દાખલા છે. સાવરકુંડલામાં લગભગ આઠેક મહિના પહેલાં જ આવી ઘટના ઘટેલી.

ઘર એ માત્ર ચાર દિવાલ નથી. પણ એક સુરક્ષીત જગ્યા છે. અધિકારીગણને હું હંમેશાં કહુ છુ તમારે તો નિમિત્ત બનવાનુ છે. આવા કાર્યો તો સામે ચાલીને કરવા જોઈએ. તમને ભગવાને તક આપી છે. ખીસામાંથી રૃપિયોય કાઢવાનો નથી.. છતાં....અમદાવાદ કોર્પોરેશનના અધિકારીઓને આ કાર્ય કરવા પ્રેમભરી વિનંતી... લોકો થાકીને કોર્પોરેશન સામે થાળી ને વેલણ વગાડવા ફરી ન બેસે તે જોવું રહ્યું..

આપણા આદરણીય વડાપ્રધાન શ્રીનું સ્વપ્ન આવા દિનદુખિયા ઘરવિહોણા લોકોને 2022 સુધીમાં ઘર આપવાનું છે. આ સ્વપ્ન ને અધિકારીઓનો લક્ષાંક આવા પરિવારોને ઘર નહીં મળે ત્યાં સુધી પૂર્ણ થવાનો નથી...

ફરી યોગ્ય કરવા નમ્ર અપીલ...

થોડું કડવું લખ્યું હશે પણ થાક લાગે છે.

આજે મારી ઓફીસમાં રામદેવનગર વોલ્યુમ -2ની ફાઈલ ખોલવાની મંજૂરી અમારા કાર્યકરે માંગી.

એક આખી ફાઈલ આ સ્મૃતિપત્રોને આ વિગતે જ લખાયેલા પત્રોથી ભરાઈ.. દુઃખ થયું..સરકાર સંવેદનાથી આવા પરિવારોના કલ્યાણ માટે કટીબદ્ધ છે ત્યારે અધિકારીગણ સહયોગ ન કરે તે યોગ્ય નથી..

ફરી આ ઠંડીમાં આ પરિવારોને ઝડપથી ઘર આપવા વિનંતી....

સાબરમતીમાં કોર્પોરેશને ઘર આપ્યા તે વાતને હું વધાવું છું.. પણ એ જ કાર્ય પદ્ધતિથી રામદેવનગરમાં કાર્ય કેમ નથી થતું.. ખરેખર સમજાતું નથી..

“The Corona induced lockdown has taught us how to lead our lives. You always suggested we adopt a habit of saving, store grains for a year, plan our expenses better, however, for people like us who have never practised leading lives in such organised manner,  your advice was difficult to comprehend. We always kept buying food at the end of the day from the wages that we had earned that day spending Rs 50 – 10 -10 on flour – oil – chilli and likes. We lived in bits and pieces, and we were so used to this way of life that we resisted the change!! The lockdown shut out businesses, finding the next meal was a challenge. Your precious advice started playing in my mind. It would have been such a relief even if I had stocked some wheat and rice. Like beggars, we waited for food during this period. The need to stock food made sense and felt so important. Better late than never!! We decided to consider your advice to stock grains for a year and approached VSSM for a loan to help us do it. After I received the loan, I stepped into a mall for the first time, as some items were cheaper there. Never knew we would end up stepping into a mall in our lifetime. In fact, it is for the first time I have shopped for Rs. 10000 in one go, not only did I buy grains but also containers to store it all. This pandemic has taught us a lot. Now we understand the gravity of word – saving!! I have pledged to become regular at saving. I have started regular saving and that amount helps me pay the loan instalments.”

Ratanben Bawari’s response to the loan VSSM sanctioned cheered us up. And it is not just Ratanben,  all the 200 women who have availed loan for stocking grains share a similar sentiment.  We aspire to settle all these Bawri families living in the Ramdevnagar settlement in proper pucca homes of their own. It is pertinent for them to cultivate the habit of saving regularly as savings will help them with down payments and instalments.

The years of experience of working with some of these poorest communities have taught us that one time support to the marginalised is an easy task but to coax them into making a life-altering shift in their orthodox lifestyles and rigid mindsets take them further in life. We say this because we have seen thousands of such individuals lead better lives because of their preparedness to undertake this essential shift. We are committed to support thousands more improve their standard of living.

'કોરોનાના કારણે થયેલા લોકડાઉને અમને જિંદગી કેવી રીતે જીવવી એ શીખવ્યું. તમે હંમેશા કહેતા બચત કરો, વર્ષનું અનાજ ભરાવો, ટૂંકમાં આયોજન શીખવતા પણ અમે આયોજનના માણસો નહીં. રોજનું લાવીને ખાવાવાળા. અમારી એ જ જાણે જિંદગી એટલે તમારી વાત મગજમાં બેસે નહીં. અમારે તો સાંજ પડે અને કમાવીને લાવેલા બસોમાંથી 50 નો લોટ, 10 નું તેલ, 10નુ મરચું.... આવું જ ટુકડા ટુકડામાં જીવવાનું.

આ બધું ગોઠે પડી ગયેલું. તે એમ શાને બદલાય? પણ lockdown ને ધંધા રોજગાર બંધ કરી દીધા. શું ખાવું એ પ્રશ્ન થઈ ગયો. એ વેળા તમે કહેતા એ વાત બરાબર મગજમાં વારંવાર આવી.

વર્ષનું અનાજ આમ તો ખાલી ઘઉં અને ચોખા ભરાયા હોત તોય ભૂખે સુવાનો વારો ના આવત. કોઈ ખાવા આપી જાય એની ભિખારીની જેમ આ સમયે રાહ જોઈ. ત્યારે મગજની બધી બત્તી ખુલી.

જાગ્યા ત્યારથી સવાર. તમારી વાત હવે કાને ધરી. અમે અનાજ ભરવા vssm માંથી લોન માંગી અને સંસ્થાએ આપી. તમને ખબર છે અમે અમુક વસ્તુઓ તો મોલમાં જઈને ખરીદી. ત્યાં સસ્તી પડતી હતી એટલા માટે. જિંદગીમાં મોલનું પગથિયું નહોતા ચડ્યા પણ હવે દુનિયાદારી સમજ્યા.

એકસામટા દસ-બાર હજાર ની ખરીદી ક્યારે કરી નહોતી એ પણ પાછી અનાજ માટે. બહુ બહુ તો હજાર એનાથી વધારે તો અનાજ માટે ક્યારેય ખર્ચ્યા નહોતા પણ સંસ્થાની મદદથી ઘરમાં અનાજ ભરવા માટેના પીપડા આવ્યા અને અનાજ પણ આવ્યું.

હવે બચતની સમજ આવી ગઈ છે. ફરી ભૂલ નહીં કરીએ રોજેરોજ ખાવા પાછળ થતો ખર્ચ હવે અમે ગલ્લામાં નાખીએ છીએ અને એ ગલ્લાના પૈસામાંથી સંસ્થાની લોન ભરીયે છીએ.

સરવાળે અમે તો નફામાં જ રહ્યા'

અમદાવાદના રામદેવનગરમાં રહેતા રતનબેન બાવરીએ રામદેવનગરમાં અનાજ ભરવા માટે આપેલી લોનના પ્રતિભાવમાં આ કહ્યું. સાંભળી રાજી થવાયું. જો કે આ ભાવ અનાજ માટે વગર વ્યાજે લોન લેનાર બસો એ બસો બહેનોનો.

અમારું સ્વપ્ન છે રામદેવનગરમાંથી ધીમે ધીમે આ પરિવારો પોતાના સ્વતંત્ર ઘરો લઈ સરસ જગ્યાએ રહેવા જાય તેવું.

બચતની ટેવ પડશે તો આ ઘર લેવું પણ મુશ્કેલ નહીં બને

તક વંચિતોને આર્થિક મદદ કરી દેવી એ એકમાત્ર ભાવના રાખવા કરતા આર્થિક મદદની સાથે સમજણ આપીએ તો ઉત્તમ પરિણામ મેળવી શકાય છે.

અને આવા સફળ માણસોના હજારો ઉદાહરણો અમારી પાસે છે અને હજુ હજારો વ્યક્તિઓ આ સમજણ થકી ઉત્તમ જીવન જીવે એ માટે અમે કટિબદ્ધ રહીશું.

રામદેવનગરના બહેનોની સાથે સતત પ્રયત્નશીલ, જાતની ચિંતા કર્યા વગર લાગ્યા રહેલા અમારા કાર્યકર મધુબેનનો રોલ બહુ મોટો. એમના જેવા નિષ્ઠાવાન કાર્યકર મેળવવા એ પણ સદભાગ્યે..

સંસ્થાના આ સેવા પારાયણમાં મદદ કરનાર પ્રિયજનોની મદદથી જ આ બધું થઈ શકે છે મદદ કરનાર સૌ હ્ર્દયપૂર્વક આભાર...

Ahmedabad’s Ramdevnagar houses a huge settlement/ghetto of Bawri community, most of whom are daily wage-earning labourers. 

Their houses are scant of food supplies and essentials, their small children are hungry. 

“Ben, can we have some grains?” Neniben Bawri was crying while asking me for help.

 The government is working a war footing to save millions of Indians, their efforts need to be saluted and call for huge appreciations.  

 I understand there are many families willing to help poor and deprived families around them,  but are unable to step out of their homes. Also, most do not have enough supply at home. The government’s PDS/Ration shops serve as an excellent platform to distribute grains to the poor. We request the government to activate the food grain distribution through these stores. The officials have told us that these stores will be functional from 1st April, which means  still a week to go. The daily wage earning families cannot sustain themselves without food for so long 

Officials from Rajkot requested a list of settlements from us to arrange for distribution of grains to these families. I hope other districts carry similar operations. 

I request farmers to share grains from their stockpile at home with the poor families in their villages. It is ok if you will send less milk to the dairy, please make buttermilk from it and give it to the needy families in your village who are in severe need of food. 

Let us all help each other overcome this unprecedented crisis on human race. Our empathy will help 21 days seem shorter for these extremely poor sections of our country. 

Let us follow our Prime Minister appeal to be concerned for others as well. 

I request you all to provide warmth and support to those in need!!

અમદાવાદના રામદેવનગરમાં બાવરી પરિવારોની મોટી વસતિ છે.

અહીં રહેનારા મોટાભાગના રોજનુંલાવીને રોજ ખાનારા..

ઘરમાં અનાજ નથી. મરચુ અને હળદર છે. નાના છોકરાં ભૂખ્યા છે.. બેન અનાજ મળે... આટલું બોલતા બોલતા નેનીબહેન બાવરી રડી ગયા..

સરકાર અત્યારે ભારતવાસીઓ માટે ખડે પગે છે. સરકારની આ કામગીરીને હું બિરદાવું છું તેમને સલામ કરુ છું..

ગરીબ અને તકવંચિતોને અમારા જેવા ઘણા મદદ કરવા ઈચ્છે છે પણ અમે બહાર નીકળી શકતા નથી. વળી અનાજનો પુરતો જથ્થો અમારી પાસે પણ નથી.

સરકારની સસ્તા અનાજની દુકાનોમાંથી આવા તકવંચિતોને રાશન આપવાની વ્યવસ્થા ઉત્તમ છે.. એ વ્યવસ્થા ઝડપથી સક્રિય કરીને સૌને રાશન આપવા વિનંતી.

1 લી એપ્રિલથી આ વ્યવસ્થા સક્રિય કરવાનું અધિકારી કહે છે પણ 1 લી એપ્રિલને હજુ છ દિવસ બાકી છે.

રાજકોટમાં અધિકારી ગણે જેમ અમારી પાસે વસાહતોની યાદી માંગી અને તેમણે અનાજ પહોંચાડવાની વ્યવસ્થા કરી દેશે તેમ કહ્યું તેમ અન્ય જિલ્લામાં થાય તેમ કરવા વિનંતી...

ગામડાંઓમાં ખેડૂતો પોતાના ઘરમાં ભરેલા ધાનમાંથી થોડું થોડું તમારા ગામમાં રહેતા આવા વંચિતોને આપજો. દૂધ ડેરીમાં ના ભરાય તો ચાલશે છાસ કરીને અનાજ સાથે છાસ પણ આપજો..

આવું કરશું તો 21 દિવસ તો ફડાકામાં નીકળી જશે..

આપણા વડાપ્રધાનની અપીલને આપણે માનીએ અને સૌની ચિંતા કરીએ..

આ ફોટોમા દેખાય એવી હૂંફ આપવા સૌને બે હાથ જોડી વિનંતી...

Today our house was erased down to ground. We have been hungry since afternoon, it is evening and we aren’t sure where will the night lead us.

Have you ever spent a day in open with small children and young daughters at the tag?  Try doing it  once and you will understand the pain of a father  of young daughters whose houses have been snatched away and they have just the sky and earth to protect them from prying eyes of the world.

Many poor families have  received houses from government and many have sold those houses to return back to the shanties. But we are not like them.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation broke down homes of 106 families of Ramdevnagar. It would have been better if they were  allotted  alternate houses before being evicting and mowing down their homes.

It isn’t too late yet, hope the government and officials take quick decisions.

The current Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner is a very humble and compassionate human being. We are hopeful that he surly will offer better solution  to these families.

આજે મારુ ઘર તુટ્યું.. બપોરના ભૂખ્યા છીએ.. સાંજ પડી ગઈ.. રાત ક્યાં રોકાશું એનું ઠેકાણું નથી..

નાના બાળકો ને જુવાન દીકરીઓ સાથે ખુલ્લામાં એક દિવસ રહી તો જુઓ..

હશે ઘણા ગરીબોને સરકારે ઘર આપ્યું ને એ ઘર એમણે વેચ્યું ને બીજે છાપરું બાંધ્યું પણ માણસ માણસમાં ફેર હોય છે.. અમે એવા નથી...

રામદવેનગરમાં રહેતા બાવરી સમુદાયના 106 પરિવારોના ઘર આજે કોર્પોરેશને તોડ્યા.. 

એમને અન્ય જગ્યાએ ઘર આપીને હાલના ઘર તોડ્યા હોત તો સારુ હતું... 

હજુ વહી નથી ગયું સરકાર અને અધિકારી ગણ આ કાર્ય ઝટ કરે તેવી આશા..

અમદાવાદ મ્યુનીસીપલ કમીશનર ખુબ ભલા માણસ છે અને ગરીબો માટે એમને ભારે અનુકંપા છે. અમને આશા છે એ કાંઈક સરસ ઉકેલ લાવશે...

Along with their homes, their dreams shattered too….

This was the house I stepped into after marriage and this was the house we raised our family and married off our children. This was the home we built brick by brick, rag by rag and twig by twig. This was my home. It was a house we had grown to love.

And the Ahmedabad municipal corporation decided to erase them for their new town planning schemes. They came over with police protection and mowed down our houses.

The household goods we had accumulated and bought over the years with our hard earned money was moved to the open space opposite our house. This was before the JCB fork scooped our house out.

“People, move your goods from that place. Or else we have official vehicles prepared to take it all away.” The officials had instructed.

“Saheb, where will we take it all? We have no other place to go!!” we pleaded.

“No worries if you have no other place, guys pick this all up,” yelled the official. 

“And they packed our stuff in the lorry and drove off.”

All these families mobbed our office. All of them crying. “Ben, our house…. Our house just got demolished. Where will we go?!”

“The officials are asking us to go and stay with our relatives, build a shade at some other place, but to not return at the spot we have been moved from or else they will break that too!!”

Even I did not have an answer to their, “where will we go, Ben?”

Ramdevnagar had not yet developed into sprawling and upscale neighbourhood it is today. It was a wooded area on the outskirts of Ahmedabad when the families belonging to Bawri community made it their home. The families even hold proofs to staying here for decades.

In 2017, 44 families even received notice from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to pay Rs. 68,000 and get a house, but the poor never have enough and they failed to pay the required amount. The houses that have been allotted aren’t  living worthy. The families will now go and stay there, but they won’t get possession to the houses until they make payments to the municipal corporation. The other issue is number of houses, there are 104 families and just 44 houses. Wonder what about the rest?

With the ever rising population and the need to provide infrastructure facilities, urban areas will always remain short of space. And we are not against growth. What is required is thoughtful solution to these issues.

The Bawri community residing in the recently demolished houses did not move here in search of livelihood. They have been here for decades. This is the only home they know. They do not have any other place they belong to. This is where they belong. Where will they go?

“This was our home for 60 years and we have been asked to go back home? Where will we go with children to feed, monsoon to face and no roof on head?”

The 106 families whose houses were erased by the Municipal Corporation had received notice in 2017 but the illiterate community did not think of its implications hence, never brought the issue to anybody’s notice.

The pain of seeing their hopes crumble in front of their eyes could only be  comprehended by those who have built a house with hard earned money. It was not just their homes that were shattered, their dreams came shattering down too.

The Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner is an extremely compassionate individual. I am sure he has thought of some better solutions for these poor families.

 જેમાં વર્ષો રહ્યા, જેમાં પરણીને આવ્યા, જેમાં બાળકો આવ્યા ને મોટા થયા ને એમનાંય લગ્ન થયા એ ઘર... ભલે પતરાવાળુ હોય કે મીણિયામાંથી બનાવેલું હોય પણ એ ઘર.. મારુ ઘર.

આ ઘર સાથે જુદુ મમત્વ થઈ ગયેલું. 

એ ઘર કોર્પોરેશનના અધિકારીઓ, પોલીસ રક્ષણ હેઠળ આવીને ટીપી સ્કીમ પ્રમાણે તમારુ ઘર કપાતમાં જાય છે એમ કરીને તોડી નાખ્યું..

ઘરમાં પાઈ પાઈ બચાવીને ખરીદેલો સામાન જેસીબીનો પાવડ઼ો ફરે એ પહેલાં બચાવીને બરાબર ઘરની સામે મુક્યો.. 

પોલીસ કહે અલ્યા ઝટ સામાન લઈ લો નહીં તો કોર્પોરેશનના ટેમ્પા તૈયાર છે ઉપાડી લઈશું. 

પણ સાહેબ સામાન ક્યાં મુકીશું અમારી પાસે બીજુ કોઈ ઘર નથી..

સારુ નથી ને.. અલ્યાએ સામાન ઉપાડો અને નજર સામે જ કોર્પોરેશનની ગાડીઓ સામાન ભરીને જતી રહી.

આ બધા ગરીબોનું ઘાડુ મારી પાસે આવ્યું, સૌ રડ્યા. બેન ઘર ગયું હવે શું..

અધિકારી કે છે કે, તમારા સગાવહાલાના ત્યાં જાવ અથવા ગમે ત્યાં છાપરાં નાખો પણ હવે જે જગ્યાએથી તમને હટાવ્યા ત્યાં તો છાપરાં નહીં જ કરવાના. નહીં તો તોડી નાખીશું.

ક્યાં જશું? એ પ્રશ્નનો મારી પાસે પણ જવાબ નથી..

અમદાવાદનું રામદેવનગર હાલમાં જેવું છે તેવું વસ્યુ નહોતું, જ્યારે એ જંગલ હતું ત્યારના આ વિચરતી જાતિના બાવરી પરિવારો આ જગ્યાને માભોમ બનાવીને અહીં જ રહી ગયેલા.. બધા પાસે આ જગ્યા પર વર્ષોથી રહેતા હોવાના પુરાવા પણ છે..

2017માં 44 પરિવારોને કોર્પોરેશને 68,000 ભરો તો ઘર આપવા કહ્યું, પણ ગરીબ પ્રજા પુરા પૈસા નથી ભરી શકી એટલે ઘર મળ્યું નથી. પાછુ મળેલું ઘર રહી શકાય તેવી સ્થિતિમાં પણ ક્યાં છે? ખેર તોય એ લોકો રહેવા જશે પણ એમના ઘરના પૈસા કોર્પોરેશનમાં નહીં ભરાય ત્યાં સુધી ઘર મળવાના નથી.. વળી છે પાછા કુલ 106 પરિવારો અને ઘર મળશે 44 ને તો બાકીનાનું શું એય સમજાતું નથી..

શહેરના વિકાસ સામે વાંધો નથી..

પણ થોડા વિચાર સાથે બધુ થાય તો યોગ્ય..

વિચરતી જાતિના આ પરિવારો પોતાનું વતન છોડી શહેરમાં કમાવવા નથી આવ્યા... એ તો વર્ષોથી ત્યાં જ રહે છે. વળી આ લોકોનું તો વતનેય નથી.. એટલે ક્યાં જશે?

છેલ્લા 60 વર્ષથી જેને પોતાનું ઘર માન્યું વતન માન્યું એ વતનમાંથી આજે જેમને અમારા પોતાના માન્યા હતા તેમના દ્વારા જાકારો મળ્યો...

મારુ ઘર ના રહ્યું, હવે ક્યાં જશું, કાંખમાં છોકરાં છે, માથે ચોમાસું છે....

રામવદેનગના બાવરી સમુદાયના 106 પરિવારોના ઘરો આજે કોર્પોરેશને તોડ્યા. નોટીસ 2017માં આપેલી પણ અશિક્ષિત માણસો લાંબુ વિચારી ના શક્યા ને આગળ રજૂઆતો પણ ના કરી. ને આમ અચાનક બધુ સામે આવ્યું... અને ઘર તૂટ્યા અને આ ઘરમાં જોયેલા સમણાંઓ પણ તુટ્યા..

નજર સામે પોતાનું ઘર તુટવાની વેદના જેણે લોહી પાણી એક કરીને ઘર બાંધ્યું હોય એને જ સમજાય...

અમદાવાદ મ્યુનીસીપલ કમીશનર ખુબ ભલા માણસ છે અને ગરીબો માટે એમને ભારે અનુકંપા છે. અમને આશા છે એ કાંઈક સરસ ઉકેલ લાવશે...
