The Day of Freedom.
The bonded labourers were tortured a lot during British rule. There was an uprising by this community against the mighty Britishers. They were convicted and imprisoned in jail. Our country became independent on 15th Aug 1947 but these bonded labourers were freed from the jail on 31st August 1952. They celebrate this day as the Day of Freedom. In Surendranagar this year the families celebrated the day. Our associates Shri Harshad Vyas & Jalpa Vyas organised it. Member of Parliament Shri Mahendrabhai Munjpara, MLA Shri Jagdishbhai Makwana , Collector & other officers of the District remained present. Social worker Truptiben Shukla & others also graced the event.
I am obliged to our respected Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel who was very responsive to the problems of this community. He directed all his officers to pro-actively help. We are proud to have such a Chief Minister. We are extremely thankful to him .
Whatever the shortcomings of this community, the MP & the MLA promised to resolve them quickly. We are much obliged to them.
We are hopeful that very soon all the problems of this community will be reduced and their lives will improve.
We will shortly start building homes for the 65 families. There is a tremendous support of the government administration.
Our associates Harshad & Jalpa are dedicated VSSM volunteers. I am proud of both. I hope they both progress in their lives and benefit many more families in times to come.
મુક્તિદિન..
વિમુક્ત જાતિઓ પર અંગ્રેજોના વખતમાં ખુબ અત્યાચાર થયો. અંગ્રેજો સામે બંડ પોકારવાનું આ જાતિઓએ કરેલું માટે જ તેમને ગુન્હાહીત ઘોષિત કરીને, વાડામાં બંધ કરી. 15 ઓગષ્ટ 1947ના રોજ દેશ આખો આઝાદ થયો.પણ વાડામાં જેમને કેદ કરેલા તે વિમુક્ત સમુદાયોને 31 ઓગષ્ટ 1952ના રોજ વાડાબંધીમાંથી મુક્તિ મળે માટે આ દિવસને મુક્તિદિન તરીકે ઊજવે.
સુરેન્દ્રનગરમાં આ વખતે મુક્તિ દિનની ઊજવણી અમારા પરિવારોએ કરી. કાર્યકર હર્ષદ વ્યાસ તેમજ જલપા વ્યાસે આયોજન કર્યું જેમાં સંસદ સભ્ય આદરણીય શ્રી મહેન્દ્રભાઈ મુંજપરા ધારાસભ્ય અને વિધાનસભાના દંડક આદરણીય શ્રી જગદીશભાઈ મકવાણા તેમજ જિલ્લાનું વહીવટીતંત્ર આદરણીય કલેક્ટર શ્રી થી લઈને અન્ય અધિકારીગણ ખાસ હાજર રહ્યા. અમારા તૃપ્તીબેન શુક્લ અને અન્ય સમાજીક કાર્યકરો પણ કાર્યક્રમમાં હાજર રહ્યા.
આદરણીય મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી ભુપેન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલની આભારી છું. સુરેન્દ્રનગરમાં વિચરતી જાતિઓના પ્રશ્નો ઘણા પડતર છે. આ બાબતે એમનું ધ્યાન દોર્યું ને એમણે લાગણીપૂર્વક સૌને આ કાર્યમાં મદદ કરવા સૂચના આપી. આવા મુખ્યમંત્રી મળ્યાનું ગૌરવ છે... આપની લાગણી માટે આભારી છું.
કલેક્ટર શ્રી તેમજ ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી અને સંસદસભ્ય શ્રીએ વિચતરી જાતિઓના જે પણ પડતર પ્રશ્નો છે તેનું નિરાકારણ ઝડપથી લાવવાની પણ ખાત્રી આપી.. આપ સૌ પ્રત્યે કૃતજ્ઞતા વ્યક્ત કરુ છું.
આશા રાખીએ આવનારા સમયમાં સુરેન્દ્રનગર જિલ્લામાં વસતા અમારા પરિવારોની મુશ્કેલીઓ થોડી હળવી થાય.
65 પરિવારોની કોલોની તો અમે થોડા જ દિવસોમાં બાંધવાનું શરૃ કરીશું. તંત્રનો એમાં ઘણો સહયોગ..
અમારો હર્ષદ અને જલપા બેય હૃદયથી VSSM ને વરેલા એકદમ સંનિષ્ઠ કાર્યકરો.. તમારા બેઉ પર ગર્વ છે. ખુબ તરક્કી કરો ને કેટલાયના ભલામાં નિમિત્ત બનો તેવી શુભેચ્છા...
