 Antyodaya signifies working for the economic upliftment of the poorest of the poor families. India chose to be a welfare state, means it protects and promotes the economic and social well-being of its citizens. There are hundreds of government policies and schemes for the upliftment of the marginalised. One of which is allotment of Antyodaya Ration card for the poorest of the poor. The Antyoday Ration Card ensures enough grains for the very poor families who need government support to break free from deprivation. However, the complex government procedures and requirements make it an inaccessible document for the ever people who need it the most. VSSM has been writing to the government about this for many years now. Ultimately our Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai showed interest and instructed concerned officials about the same. The task became easy wherever we came across sensitive and concerned officials. But it wasn’t happening as frequently as we would like to.

  We have often written about Surendranagar District Collector’s Shri K Rajesh’s commendable work for the deprived and needy. This compassionate officer believes that his job provides him with the best opportunity to work for the poor so why not make the best use of it!! He has taken upon him to identify each Antyoday worthy family and provide them with Antyodaya card.

Our Harshad’s joy is hard to contain because of this development. “Ben, I haven’t seen such generous and righteous human being. The fate of the nomadic communities of Surendranagar has changed for the better. The files that have not moved for years are rapidly moving and finding positive outcomes.

અંત્યોદયની વ્યાખ્યા - અંત્યત છેવાડે રહેતા જેને તકવંચિત કહીએ તેનો ઉદય કે વિકાસ એવી થાય...

આપણે કલ્યાણકારી રાજ્યની વિભાવના સ્વીકારી અને આપણું બંધારણ પણ એ વિભાવનાના આધારે ઘડાયું.

વંચિત કહી શકાય તેવા જનસમૂહ માટે ઢગલો કલ્યાણ કારી યોજનાઓ પણ બની..આવી જ એક યોજના અંત્યોદય રેશનકાર્ડની..

ગરીબ માણસ જેની અન્ન સુરક્ષાની જળવાતી ન હોય તેને આ યોજના અંતર્ગત રાશન મળે. પણ સરકારી આંટીઘૂંટીના કારણે તકવંચિતોને ક્યાંક આ યોજનાની મદદ મળવાનું થાય નહીં.

છેલ્લા ઘણા વખતથી સરકારમાં આ બાબતે સતત રજૂઆત કરતા.

છેવટે આપણા મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીએ પોતે આ બાબતે રસ લીધો અને પૂરવઠા વિભાગને સૂચના પણ આપી.

પણ અમલવારી કરવાનું અધિકારીઓના હાથમાં હોય. ક્યાંક સંવેદનશીલ અધિકારી હોય તો બધુ ચપટીમાં થાય અને ક્યાંક...

સુરેન્દ્રનગરમાં અંત્યોદય રાશનકાર્ડ આપવાના મુદ્દે કલેક્ટર શ્રીને રજૂઆત કરી. કલેક્ટર શ્રી કે. રાજેશ તો એકદમ ભલા અને ઉમદા અધિકારી. તેમના મતે ગરબોની સેવા કરવાની તક આ પદ પર બેસીને મળી છે તો એમાં પાછા કેમ શું કામ પડવું?

એમણે પોતાના જિલ્લામાં રહેતા વંચિત પરિવારોને વીણી વીણીને અંત્યોદય કાર્ડ આપવાની શરૃઆત કરી.

કાર્યકર હર્ષદનો હરખ સમાતો નથી. બેન આવા સમાહર્તા મે જોયા નથી. આપણો સમય ફર્યો છે ( હકારાત્મક રીતે) સુરેન્દ્રનગરની વિચરતી જાતિઓનું ભાગ્ય ખુલ્યું છે એટલે જ વર્ષોના પડતર કામોનો નિકાલ ફટાફટ થઈ રહ્યો છે.

આભાર કે.રાજેશ જેવા યુવા અને ઉત્સાહી કલેક્ટર શ્રીનો. તમને જોઈને અન્ય શીખે એમ ઈચ્છીએ...

વંચિતો કહે, એમ ભગવાન તમને સાજા નરવા રાખે...અને હજારો લાખો માણસોના અંત્યોદયમાં નિમિત્ત બનાવે..
