People of Shirwada village were very enthusiastic about digging Gaam Talav and Alsiyu Talav of their village. In that, Sarpanch Karsanbhai is very enthusiastic. 

Lake Deepening work

In order to get water to the people of his village, he got a bore-well made on his own expense. This bore-well has sweet water and the reason is the lake of the village. If we dig these lakes then the village will get sweet water all through the year. The Sarpanch talked to VSSM fieldworkers to dig their lake and expressed his willingness to make available village tractors for carrying the soil dug. In addition to that, he offered to contribute Rs. 2,00,000/- individually.Many regards to such an alert Sarpanch. An entire article can be written about his feeling to help everyone in the village.

There are total 50 families including some from Valmiki community and some from other deprived sections. Sarpanch told to help these people get the house. Sarpanch gave the possession of the best places to these families. Now we will be together and apply in the government to avail government help for house construction. Shirwada Sarpanch is the best example of what one person can do if he is willing to. However, he is supported by all people of the village. 

We will dig lakes besides the two main lakes of the village. We will make one, two and three pits in the lakes looking at the size of the lake in order to increase water percolation. Mainly, we will dig a small dig and remove the silt so that the rain water will percolate soon. Then we will link Gaam Talav and Alsiyu Talav so that maximum water will be stored in this 30 beegha big lake.

Sarpanch has showed his willingness to make a Khet Talavdi (a pit in the farm where the water can percolate and be stored), mainly to increase the water levels.    

Still today, the farmers of this region do not have the awareness to make small channels inside closer to the boundary of the field. How much water will be percolated in the canal? Our land will decrease, all these arguments will take place. But if they make small channels and khet talavdi in their fields then the water levels which have gone more than 800 ft low will come up that is for sure. Who was ready to dig the lake of their village? Same way, the farmers will also be ready.

I am thankful to Sudhirbhai Thackersey who helped us to deepen the lake of this village. And the sarpanch of the village also should be thanked along with Sudhirbhai. His contribution is as important as Sudhirbhai’s support. I thank all the farmers of the village who are carrying the soil of the lake.  

Much affection to all the fieldworkers Ramesh and Naran who are working in the heat of 46-47 degrees. You are real heroes of VSSM.

#કાંકરેજ તાલકાના #શીરવાડાગામનું ગામતળાવ અને અળસિયુંતળાવ ઊંડુ કરાવવાની આખા ગામને ખુબ હોંશ. એમાંય સરપંચ કરશનભાઈ તો ખુબ હોંશિલા. ગામને પીવાનું પાણી મળી રહે એ માટે સરપંચે પોતના ખર્ચે બોરવેલ બનાવી આપ્યો. આ બોરવેલનું પાણી એકદમ મીઠુ ને મીઠુ પાણી હોવાનું કારણ ગામનું તળાવ. આ તળાવો ખોદાય તો બારે મહિના ગામને મીઠુ પાણી મળે. #VSSMના કાર્યકર નારણભાઈ અને રમેશભાઈ સાથે સરપંચે તળાવ ખોદાવવા બાબતે વાત કરી ને તળાવ ખોદકામમાં માટી લઈ જવાનું તો ગામ કરશે એ સિવાય પણ બે લાખ જેટલો ફાળો વ્યક્તિગત ધોરણે સરપંચે પોતે આપવા કહ્યું. આવા જાગૃત સરપંચને તો પ્રણામ કરવા જ પડે... વળી ભાવના ગામના તમામને મદદરૃપ થવાની એ અંગે તો આખો જુદો લેખ લખી શકાય એવું છે.

ગામમાં #વાલ્કિમી સમાજ અને અન્ય વંચિત સમાજના 50 પરિવારો અત્યંત ખરાબ સ્થિતિમાં રહે સરપંચે આ પરિવારોને ઘર મળે તે માટે મદદરૃપ થવા પણ વાત કરી ને એ માટે એમણે તમામ સહયોગ આપવા કહ્યું. ગામના આ પરિવારોને સારામાં સારી જગ્યાની આકારણી સરપંચ શ્રીએ આપી દીધી. બસ તેમને સરકારમાંથી મકાન સહાય મળે તે માટે અમે સાથે રહીને અરજી કરાવીશું. પણ એક વ્યક્તિ ઈચ્છે તો કેટલુ બધુ થઈ શકે તેનું ઉત્તમ ઉદાહરણ શિરવાડા સરપંચ શ્રી છે. જોકે ગામના તમામનો સહયોગ પણ એમને છે જ.

આ ગામ મુખ્ય બે તળાવો સિવાયના તળાવોમાં પણ વરસાદી પાણી જમીનમાં ઉતરે તે માટે તળાવની મોટાઈ જોઈને એક , બે કે ત્રણની સંખ્યામાં ઊંડી ચોકડીઓ ખોદાવીશું. મૂળ તો ચોકડી ખોદી એટલો કાંપ જમીનમાંથી કાઢી લઈશું જેથી વરસાદી પાણી જમીનમાં ઝટ ઉતરી શકે અને ગામતળાવ અને અળસિયા તળાવને લીંક કરીશું જેથી 30 વિધાના આ તળાવમાં મહત્તમ પાણી ભરાયેલા રહે.

સરપંચે પોતાના ખેતરમાં પચાસ બાય પચાસની ખેતતલાવડી કરવાની ઈચ્છા દર્શાવી છે. મૂળ તો જમીનમાં પાણી ઉતરે એ માટે...

હજુએ આ વિસ્તારના ખેડુતોને પોતાના ખેતરના શેઢાની અંદર નાની ચેનલો બનાવવાની સમજણ નથી. ચેનલમાં વળી કેટલું પાણી ઉતરે.. અમારી જમીન ઓછી થઈ જાય વગેરે દલીલો આ વાતને લઈને થઈ રહી છે પણ જો તેઓ તળાવોની સાથે ખેતતલાવડી ને નાની ચેનલો ખેતરોમાં કરે તો આખા ગામના પાણીના તળ જે આજે 800 ફૂટથી નીચે જતા રહ્યા છે તે ધીમે ધીમે ઉપર આવવાના એ નક્કી. જોકે અમે આશાવાદી છીએ. બે વરસ પહેલાં કોઈ તળાવ ખોદાવવાય ક્યાં રાજી હતું આજે એ થયું છે તો કાલે આ માટેય ખેડુત તૈયાર થશે.

આ ગામના તળાવને ઊંડુ કરવામાં મદદરૃપ થનાર આદરણીય શ્રી સુધીરભાઈ ઠાકરસીની હું આભારી છું. સાથે ગામના સરપંચનો આભાર એમનો ફાળો સુધીરભાઈની મદદ જેટલો જ અગત્યનો. ગામના તમામ ખેડુતો જેઓ તળાવની માટી લઈ જઈ રહ્યા છે તે તમામનો આભાર..

અને સૌથી વિશેષ 46થી 47 ડિગ્રી તાપમાં કામ કરતા અમારા કાર્યકર રમેશ અને નારણને વહાલ.. તમે VSSMના સાચા હીરા છો....

Halimaben Dafer sharing her story with Mittal Patel

Halimaben Dafer. She lives in a village called Wamaj in Kadi Taluka. Police destroyed their shanties and created havoc. They broke and spilled all the things in the the shanty. Village people also told the Dafers to leave the village. Dilabhai who had been living in the village since last 10 years, requested but the village people said a straight no. In this duration, everyone from the Danga had to go for a relative’s wedding, and the people burnt their shanties. They lost all the support. Now the big  question’s about where to live. Right now they are literally wandering from a village boundary to the other in the search of a dwelling place.

Halimaben’s husband once robbed due to poverty, Then he started doing hard work and earned but now if your name is on the police records you have to clean it. So, the fieldworker Tohid and leader Dilabhai made the Rasoolbhai surrender to Mehsana SP. Now there was a question of earning the livelihood. Halimaben does agricultural labour when she gets the work but now they don’t have a place to live so she is not even getting the labour work. Their son aged 21 died due to kidney failure. They have four yound daughters in the house and the earning member Rasoolbhai is in the jail.

But people from this Danga have so much self respect that they have not urged us for help. They only told us, “ben, make arrangements so that we can get the place to live soon.” But when I talked to young daughters of Halimaben I came to know about the food crisis in the house. So, we gave them grain enough till then they can get employment again.

When I asked Dilabhai whether he needs anything, he said no. I knew that he also doesn’t have anything but he feels that those things should be given to somebody who needs more than he does. 

What a kind of people I get to meet? And there is lot to learn from them. But Mother Nature, I pray to you to get these communities out of their hardships…

હલીમાબેન #ડફેર. કડી તાલુકના વામજમાં રહેતા. પણ #પોલીસે આવીને એમના છાપરાં પર કાળો કેર વર્તાવ્યો. છાપરાં ને સાથે એમાં મુકેલી વસ્તુઓ ઢોળી, તોડી નાખી. ગામે પણ ડફેરોને જગ્યા છોડી જતા રહેવા કહ્યું. 10 વર્ષથી વામજમાં રહેતા દીલાભાઈએ ગામને ઘણી વિનંતી કરી પણ ગામે નનૈયો જ ભણ્યો. એવામાં સંબધીના ત્યાં લગ્નમાં ડંગામાં રહેતા તમામને જવાનું થયું ને પાછળથી એમના છાપરાં સળગાવી દીધા. રહેવા માટેનો હવે કોઈ જ આશરો નહીં. ક્યાં જઈને રહેવું તે પ્રશ્ન મોટો છે. હાલ તો અલગઅલગ ગામોની સીમમાં રીતસર રઝળી રહ્યા છે.

હલીમાબેનના ઘરવાળાએ વખાના માર્યા લૂંટ કરેલી. એ પછી મહેનતનો રોટલો રળતા થયા પણ એક વખત પોલીસના ચોપડે નામ ચડ્યુ તે ચોખ્ખા તો થવું પડે. કાર્યકર તોહીદે અને આગેવાન દીલાભાઈએ રસુલભાઈને મહેસાણા એસ.પી. સામે હાજર કરી દીધા. હવે પ્રશ્ન આવ્યો ઘર ચલાવવાનો. આમ તો હલીમાબેન ખેતમજુરી મળે ત્યારે મજુરી કરે જ પણ હાલ તો રહેવાનું જ ઠેકાણું નથી ને મજુરીએ મળતી નથી. 21 વર્ષના જુવાન દીકરાની બે કીડની ખરાબ થઈ ગઈ તે એ હમણાં જ ગુજરી ગયો. ઘરમાં ચાર નાની દીકરીઓ છે. કમાવવાવાળા રસુલભાઈ જેલમાં છે.

પણ આ ડંગાના ખુદ્દાર એકેય માણસે અમારી પાસે મદદ માટે આજીજી નથી કરી. બેન ઝટ રહેવા જગ્યા જડે એમ કરજો એવી જ એમની વિનતી હતી. પણ હલીમાબેનની નાની દીકરીઓ સાથે વાત કરી ઘરમાં અનાજ પાણીની સ્થિતિ ખબર પડી. એટલે અમને આપી જતા માણસોએ આપેલા અનાજમાંથી ખેતીમાં ફેર મજુરી મળતી થાય ત્યાં સુધી ચાલે એટલું આપ્યું.

દીલાભાઈને જરૃર છે એવું પુછ્યુ તો એમણે લેવાની જ ના પાડી. જાણું છુ એમના ત્યાંય એવું કશું નથી પણ મારાથીએ તકલીફવાળાને આપજોની ભાવના...

કેવા ભાતભાતના માણસોને મળવાનું થાય છે ને શીખીએ છીએ એમના પાસેથી ઘણું બધુ.. પણ હે કુદરત હવે આ જાતિઓને એ જે પીડા વેઠે છે એમાંથી મુક્તી આપવા પ્રાર્થુ છુ....

ONGC helped nomadic women by giving them Gas Connection...

Do the women of Nomadic communities get rid of blowing the stove like the poor women do through Ujjwala Yojana? This question was asked by a sensitive office holder at the time of parliament election. And our answer was no. 

The people who are not listed in the BPL List can get the benefit of this scheme. But our people of nomadic community live away from the other village people and they are not considered the part of Gram Sabha. So, they don’t have their names in the BPL list.  

ONGC gave gas connection to 250 nomadic families

When he heard it, he said, this is not done. They are poor. Then after repeated efforts, the government made the scheme to provide free gas connection to people who are socially and educationally backward communities and most backward communities. All the people who belong to most backward communities can go to the nearest gas dealer and apply for a gas connection under this scheme.

But now there is a demand to the government to provide help under this scheme to all the people from nomadic and denotified communities who are deprived of gas connection. 

When this scheme was not active, we had made an application to ONGC to give gas connection to 250 families of nomadic and denotified communities living in Ahmedabad. This application was approved and the distribution took place. Thank you ONGC and Mayankbhai who helped the deprived people especially the women.

ગરીબ બહેનોને ચુલો ફૂંકવામાંથી મુક્તી મળે તેવા આશય સાથે કાર્યરત ઉજ્જવલા યોજનાનો લાભ વિચરતી વિમુક્ત જાતિની બહેનોને મળે છે?તેવો પ્રશ્ન વિધાનસભાની ચૂંટણી વખતે સત્તા સ્થાને બેઠેલા એક સંવેદનશીલ વ્યક્તિએ પુછેલો. ને અમારો જવાબ હતો ના.

બીપીએલ યાદીમાં ના હોય તેને આ યોજનાની મદદ મળે પણ અમારા વિચરતી જાતિના લોકો ગામથી દૂર રહે વળી એે ક્યાં ગ્રામસભાનો હિસ્સો મનાય છે એટલે બીપીએલયાદીમાં એમના નામ નથી હોતા...

સાંભળીને એમણે કહેલું, આ ના ચાલે. આ લોકો તો છેજ ગરીબ. એ પછી સતત કરાતી રજૂઆતોના ભાગરૃપે સરકારે સામાજિક અને શૈક્ષણિક રીતે પછાત જાતિઓમાંથી અતિપછાત જાતિઓને વિનામુલ્યે ગેસ કનેક્શન આપવાની યોજના કરી. અતિપછાત જાતિઓમાં આવતા તમામ તમારા નજીકના ગેસડીલર પાસે જઈને આ યોજના સબબ ગેસકનેક્શન માટે અરજી કરી શકે છે.

જોકે સરકારમાં તમામ વિચરતી અને વિમુક્ત જાતિઓમાંના ગેસ કનેક્શન વિહોણા ગરીબ પરિવારોને આ યોજનાની મદદ મળે તે માટેની માંગ ઊભી છે. 

આ યોજના કાર્યાન્વીત નહોતી તે પહેલાં અમે અમદાવાદમાં રહેતા 250 વિચરતી વિમુકત જાતિના પરિવારોને ઓ.એન.જી.સી.ની મદદથી ગેસ કનેક્શન અપાવવા અરજી કરેલી. જે મંજુર થતા ગેસનું વિતરણ કર્યું.

આભાર ઓ.એન.જી.સી. અને મયંકભાઈ નાયક જેમણે તકવંચિતોની ને એમાંય બહેનોની ચિંતા કરી.

Shri Ishwarbhai Parmar, Cabinet Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment.  A very sensitive person.

Since many years we are representing the issues related to Nomadic and Denotified Tribe (NT & DNT) communities with the State Government.  In response to such representations many policies have been framed, however much is yet to be done.  In this connection on 9th July, 2018 a meeting was held under the able chairmanship of the honorable Minister which was also attended by Pr. Secretary, Additional Secretary, Chairman of Corporation etc. Some concrete steps to be taken were planned e.g. Matters regarding pending applications in respect of allotment of plot to be taken up for discussion every month at the time of Conference of honorable Chief Minister with all District Collectors.  And representations for issues related to protection for NT & DNT against atrocities and high handedness inflicted upon them, issue regarding Ration Cards, right of equal participation, reservation for NT & DNT communities in residential houses being constructed in various cities etc.

Ishwarbhai was very positive and sensitive to such issues.  We are very thankful for his positive response.

At our level we should make maximum applications with enough precaution.  If we have made efforts then there will be outcome and if there is no result, we can bring that to the notice of higher authorities.  Applications made earlier are transferred to various departments, we have to take follow up for the same.  We hope coming days would bring positive results of NT & DNT communities.

We are thankful to Bhagwanbhai Panchal for his constant support in the matter.  This all became possible only because of his helping nature and continuous support.

ઈશ્વરભાઈ ઘણા હકારાત્મક, સંવેદનશીલ ને નક્કર કામગીરી કરવા ઉત્સુક છે તેમની આ લાગણીને અમારા પ્રણામ..

આપણા પક્ષે મહત્તમ અરજીઓ અને એ પણ પૂરતી કાળજી સાથે કરીએ. અરજી કરી હશે તો કામ થશે અને નહીં થાય તો ધ્યાન દોરી શકાશે એ ખાસ ધ્યાને રાખીએ..

અગાઉ કરેલી રજૂઆતો મંત્રી શ્રીના વિભાગ થકી જુદા જુદા વિભાગમાં તબદીલ થઈ છે ત્યાં પણ ફોલોઅપ કરીશું.

આશા રાખીએ આવનારા દિવસો #વિચરતી વિમુક્ત જાતિઓ માટે આશા લઈને આવે...

આ કાર્યમાં સતત સાથે રહેનાર ભગવાનભાઈ પંચાલનો આભાર... તેમની મદદ માટેની ભાવનાના કારણે જ આ બધુ શક્ય બન્યું..

We are Vadis, We don’t Kidnap Children

When a beloved child is missing, for the parents that is the moment of great shock, till the child is found. In such situation when the news is heard about a child lifting gange being active, it is but natural that the public gets angry.  But it should also be ensured that such news should not victimise innocent people.  Recently in Vadaj area of Ahmedabad city there was an incident of mob attack on three innocent women of Vadi Community on the suspicion that they are child lifters. One of those women succumbed to the injuries. The children of that woman became orphans due to thoughtless action of the public. 

There were similar incidents in many places other than Ahmedabad also, which should not be tolerated at any cost.  Now a days, Nomadic community people which includes Vadi, Madari are afraid of coming out of their settlements. They are engaged in begging or doing miscellaneous labour work for their day to day livelihood.  They don’t have any stock of food items like us to use in such a situation.  Presently they fill their stomach merely on water.  Though they are innocent, the mob don’t give them chance to prove their innocence.

We become nostalgic on seeing Madari who used to entertain us in our childhood with and plays like magic shows and snake charming etc. and children follow them up to some distance to see their plays and at that time no body doubting them to be child lifters.  In the year 1990, the Govt. banned snack charming without thinking about their rehabilitation or alternative means of livelihood.  This put them in miserable condition and they were left with no other alternative of begging.  That is why, now a days, we see them begging across the streets.  “When cannot imagine about lifting others’ children when we have our own children” say Vadis.  They say ‘our community rules are very strict.  We are wandering from village to village and are solely dependent upon them, how can we afford to do criminal activities not liked by the society, which will deprive us from their support.  We can only beg from you but cannot do any wrong deeds.’  We have to raise the issue of rehabilitation of Vadis again.

Irula Co-Operative Venom Bank at Chennai

In Chennai, there is a community called Irula similar to Vadi, they have formed Irula Co-operative Society.  The community enrolled with this society is given licence for catching snakes.  They catch and handover the snakes to the society.  The management of the society is run by Irula community jointly with Forest Department.  They get Rs.5000 to 7000 per poisonous snack and society extracts venom twice from each snack and thereafter they are freed.  Venom collected is handed over to Venom Bank who pays Rs.70000 per tola.  The income earned from venom business is distributed among the members of Vadi community.  Presently, due to shortage of anti-venom approximately 50000 deaths are reported.  Now like this, in Gujarat also rehabilitation of Vadi, Madari community people is necessary so that they can stop the practise of begging.

In short the Government needs to rethink about the condition of Vadi, Madari community.  It is humble appeal to the society that we should avoid manhandling anybody on the basis of rumours.  If feel necessary, police be informed but not take law in our hands.  Vadi, Madari community have to come out to earn livelihood but they are afraid of the society.  They are also part of the Society.  We should remove the fear of Vadi community and ignore the false rumours. 

In this connection a peaceful human chain, in the form of a human chain was organised on 2nd July, 2018 (1-00 pm to 3-00 pm) from VSSM office to Shivranjni Cross road, Ahmedabad. Approximately 2500 people from the Nomadic community and civil society members participated which was covered by Media and purpose of the rally to convey the pathetic conditions of Nomadic Tribe served.

On 3rd July 2018 a delegation of community members led by Ms. Mittal Patel met honourable Home Minister of Gujarat Shri Pradeepsinh Jadeja gave instructions to the DGP Shri Shivanand Jha to ensure that such incident is not recurred. 

We all hope that there are no more incidents of atrocities on Nomadic and De-Notified communities. We hope that people will be aware and will not forward the false messages and rumours which can kill somebody.

Mohammadbhai Dafer follows what I say without any arguments. He is of my father’s age. He often advises like a father too- “ don’t go in scorching sunlight.. take care of your health and so on and so forth…”

I scold him a lot when he doesn’t listen to me. “I won’t talk to you. I will not come to your Danga..” then he says, “ it’s okay, I am sorry. You are like our mother, we will take care of that next time..”

I have different sort of relations with all of them.. It is amazing and real family. 

It has been a tradition of accompanying me till the car since last ten years…

મોહમ્મદભાઈ ડફેર કશીએ દલીલ વગર મારી બધી વાત માને. ઉંમરમાં મારા પિતા જેવા ક્યારેક પિતાની જેમ સમજાવેય ખરા- ‘ખરો તડકો માથે નહીં લેવાનો. તબીયતનું ધાન રાખવાનું વગેરે વગેરે...’

જો કે ક્યારેય કોઈ બાબતમાં અમારુ માન્યુ ના હાય તો હું બહુ લડુએ ખરી. ‘વાત નહીં કરુ તમારી સાથે. નહીં આવું હવે ડંગે’ ત્યારે કહી દે ‘હશે બેન માફ કરી દો તમે અમારા માવીતર છો હવે ધાન રાખીશું...’

અજીબ સંબંધો છે આ બધા સાથે એક અદભૂત પણ સાચો મારો પરિવાર...

ડંગામાંથી નીકળુ પછી છેક ગાડી સુધી મુકવા આવવાનો સીરસ્તો છેલ્લા દસ વર્ષથી ચાલુ ....

Thank you Well-Wishers this wedding ceremony was not possible without your support...

We will give Dayjo (household material gifted to the bride) to Vadia girls and with that we will give a buffalo too. All parents wish that their daughter remains happy wherever she goes after the marriage. The two daughters who are going to get married, are going to the financially weak family after marriage 

But they have a piece of land. So, it is decided that these daughters will be given utensils, Cupboard, bed etc along with buffalo. So, one daughter’s marriage would cost 1.75 and marriage of two will be Rs. 3.50 lakh.           

The post which was put on Facebook got really nice response. Within a few minutes of upoloading the post Deepa told me that she is sending money and transferred Rs. 1 Lakh to my account. Not a single question. 

When I called her to thank her, she said in Mumbaiya tone, “if you would have been here, I would have hugged you.” Deepa’s personality is wonderful but I will write about her some other day. 

Maharshi Dave told to sponsor marriage expenses of one daughter. The association with Maharshi Dave is not very old but now he seems like an old acquaintace. Pragnesh Desai, Sharad Uncle, Kiritbhai Shah, Alkeshbhai, many friends from Facebook. But all of you trusted us and helped to get these girls married, so I am grateful to you all!

વાડિયાની દીકરીના લગ્નમાં દાયજો તો આપીશું પણ ધામેણુંયે(ભેંસ) આપીશું. દીકરી પરણે ને જે ઘરે પરણીને જાય ત્યાં સુખેથી રહે એ ભાવના દરેક મા બાપની હોય. વાડિયાની બે દીકરીઓ જે ઘરે પરણીને જવાની એ પરિવારોય આર્થિક રીતે નબળા. પણ એમની પાસે ટુકડો જમીન છે આથી દીકરીઓને દાયજામાં વાસણ, તીજોરી, પલંગ વગેરેની સાથે ભેંસ આપવાનું નક્કી કર્યું છે ને એટલે એક દીકરીના લગ્નનો ખર્ચ 1.75 ને બેના 3.50 થાય છે. 

ફેસબુક પર મુકેલી પોસ્ટે ખુબ સારો પ્રતિસાદ આપ્યો. પોસ્ટ મુક્યાની મીનીટોમાં જ દીપાએ મૈ પૈસા ભેજતી હું કહીને એક લાખ સૌથી પહેલાં એકાઉન્ટમાં ટ્રા્સફર કર્યા. કોઈ જ પ્રશ્ન નહીં. થેક્યુ કહેવા ફોન કર્યો તો એકદમ મુંબઈયા સ્ટાઈલમાં તુ ઈધર હોતી તો ગલે લગા લેતીની વાત...આમ તો દીપાનું વ્યક્તિત્વ જ મજાનું છે પણ એની વિગતે વાત ફરી કરીશ...

મહર્ષી દવેએ એક દીકરીના લગ્નનો ખર્ચ આપવાની વાત કરી આભાર મહર્ષીભાઈ પરિચય બહુ જુનો નથી પણ હવે લાગે છે જાણે વર્ષોથી ઓળખીએ છીએ. પ્રગ્નેશ દેસાઈ, શરદ અંકલ, કીરીટભાઈ શાહ, અલ્કેશભાઈ, ફેસબુક પરના કેટલાય મિત્રો બધાના નામ નથી લખતી પણ કાલે બધાના નામની યાદી સાથે અનુદાન જાહેર કરીશ.પણ આપ સૌએ મારા પર શ્રધ્ધા રાખી દીકરીઓને પરણાવવા મદદનો હાથ લંબાવ્યો તે માટે આભારી છું..

The Story of Kankuma Bajaniya's ever-changing situation...

When I went to Kankuma’s settlement seven months back, she had welcomed me very warmly. Widow Kankuma had looked after her children very courageously but when she came to my office today, she looked very dull. 

Her young son’s wife Krishna has a cancer of mouth and she has been undergoing treatment in Ahmedabad cancer hospital. Kankuma sits outside Cancer Hospital with three children. Her son stays with his wife all day and Kankuma goes to bath her daughter in law. 

“Ben, my luck has turned.” Kankuma bajaniya ( resident of Nani Pipli, Taluka: Radhanpur, District: Patan) told me with moist eyes. My daughter in law is undergoing chemotherapy. We have Maa Card so, we don’t have to incur medical expenses but there are other household expenses. There has been illness in the house since last six months. All the savings also went away. 

Little Daksha who was sitting in Kankuma’s lap doesn’t even know what has happened to her mother. She can’t go to her mother neither Anil or Amna can. All the kids sit outside the Cancer ward as if they are waiting for their mother to come out cured. 

I gave some money to her for her day today expenses and talked to Dr. Pankaj Shah to tell the doctor not to make her pay for anything.   

I told Kankuma to put Krishnaben’s sons to our hostel and let them study. And she said yes. Let’s pray to god that the mother of these three will get better soon.   

I have written this incident to narrate how the condition of humans can turn. And also to tell you about kankuma’s courage. This grandmother is taking care of her children and with that she is giving strength to her son and daughter-in-law. My regards to Kankuma and prayers to god to take them out of all of this soon…

કંકુમાની વસાહતમાં આજથી સાતેક મહિના પહેલાં જવાનું થયું ત્યારે ખુબ ઊમળકાથી એમણે સ્વાગત કરેલું. વિધવા કંકુમાએ હિંમતથી પોતાના બાળકોને સાચવેલા પણ આજે ઓફીસ આવેલા કંકુ મા સાવ નિસ્તેજ જણાયા. જુવાન દીકરાની વહુ ક્રિષ્નાને મોંઢાનું કેન્સર છે અને કેન્સર હોસ્પીટલ અમદાવાદમાં એ સારવાર લઈ રહી છે. ત્રણ નાના બાળકોને લઈને કંકુમા કેન્સર હોસ્પીટલની બહાર બેસી રહે છે. આખો દિવસ વહુ પાસે દીકરો રહે અને વહુને નવડાવવા ધોવડાવવા કંકુ મા જાય.

બેન દશા ફરી જી કંકુ મા બજાણિયા (રહેવાસી નાની પીપીળી, તા. રાધનપુર જી. પાટણ) ઢીલા થઈ ગયા. વહુને શેક શરૃ કર્યા છે. મા કાર્ડ છે તે સારવારમાં પૈસા નથી લાગતા પણ બીજી હાથખર્ચી તો જુએને. છ મહિનાથી ઘરમાં મંદવાળ છે. ભેગુ એવું કાંઈ નહોતુ કર્યું પણ હતુ એય જતુ રહ્યું.

કંકુમાની ગોદમાં બેઠેલી નાની દક્ષાને તો ખબરેય નથી કે એની માને શું થયું છે એને તો મા પાસે જવાય નથી મળતું ના દીકરા અનીલ કે એમનાને જવા મળતું. બધાય બાળકો જાણે મા સાજી થઈને બહાર આવે એની રાહ જોતા કેન્સર વોર્ડની બહાર બેસી રહે છે.

ખર્ચી માટે થોડા રૃપિયા આપ્યા ને ત્યાંના ડોક્ટરને બહારથી દવા કે અન્ય ખર્ચ ના કરવા દેવા માટે ડો. પંકજભાઈ શાહને વાત કરી. 

કંકુ માને ક્રિષ્નાબેનના બે દીકરાને અમારી હોસ્ટેલમાં ભણવા મુકવા કહી દીધુ ને એમણે હાએ પાડી.. બસ આ ત્રણે બાળકોની મા ઝટ સાજી થાય તેવી ઈશ્વરને પ્રાર્થના કરીએ... 

આ આખો પ્રસંગ માણસની હાલત કેવી બદલી દે છે તે સમજવા જ લખ્યો છે... અને ખાસ કંકુ માની હિંમત માટે. ત્રણ છોકરાને આ દાદી આજે સાચવી રહ્યા છે સાથે દીકરાને વહુને હિંમેતેય આપી રહ્યા છે... આવા કંકુમાને પ્રણામ ને કુદરત તેમને આ બધામાંથી ઝટ બહાર કાઢે તેવી પ્રાર્થના...

The wedding of two daughters from Vadia village has been arranged with the help of you all.   

We wish that all the daughters from this village get married. There are thousand obstacles but the moment family of any girl thinks doing that then there will be wedding ceremonies definitely at her place. 

We decided to collect Rs. 1,75,000 for one daughter and 3,50,000/- for two daughters and we did could collect that much amount. But looking at the circumstances, we feel the need to increase this help amount. 

Basically, gifting the buffalo would increase the expenditure. So, the budget has gone off the track.

But we are not giving the buffalo right now. Dear Nagjibhai from Khanpur heard about gifting the buffaloes to the daughters. He said, if you want to gift the good buffalo then the expenditure will go beyond Rs. 70,000/-. So, he suggested to get the buffaloe in August- September. Nagjibhai is a farmer himself so, we have given him the responsibility to buy the buffaloes. He will select the best buffaloes and let us know.  

In this entire work, Shardaben was with Bababhai during the shopping and other things. Salute to her services.

The things to be gifted at the time of Ganesh Sthapan (excluding buffaloes) can be seen in the photo. Bride’s father Bababhai feels that he won’t be able to spend so much. But we are confident about everything going good. 

વાડિયાગામની બે દીકરીઓના આંગણે આપ સૌ સ્વજનોની મદદથી માંડવો બંધાયો. 

આ ગામની તમામ દીકરીઓ પરણે એવા મનોરથ અમે સેવ્યા છે. વિધ્નો હજાર છે પણ જે દીકરીઓના પરિવારના મનમાં રામ વસી જાય એના ત્યાં ઢોલ ઢુક્યા વિના નહીં રહે એય નક્કી છે.

એક દીકરીના લગ્ન માટે 1,75,000 એમ બેય દીકરી માટે 3,50,000ની મદદ કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું ને આટલી રકમ ભેગીએ થઈ ગઈ. જો કે હાલના સંજોગોમાં મદદની રકમ થોડી વધારવીએ પડે એવું લાગે છે.

મૂળ તો દીકરીઓને ભેટમાં ભેંસ આપવી છે ને એનો ખર્ચ થોડો વધારે થાય છે એટલે બજેટ થોડું ખોરવાયુ છે...

જો કે ભેંસ હાલ નહીં આપીએ. થરાદના ખાનપુરના પ્રિય સ્વજન એવા નાગજીભાઈ પટેલે દીકરીઓને ભેંસો આપવાની વાત જાણી. એમણે કહ્યું, સારી ભેંસ લેવી હોય તો 70,000 થી વધુ ખર્ચ થાય ને હાલ ભેંસ મોંધી પડે. એટલે ભાદરવા મહિનામાં ભેંસ લેવાનું તેમણે કહ્યું. નાગજીભાઈ પોતે ખેડુત છે આથી ભેંસો ખરીદવાની જવાબદારી નાગજીભાઈના સીરે નાખી છે. તે સારામાં સારી ભેંસો જોઈને આપણને કહેશે. 

આ કાર્યમાં અમારા કાર્યકર શારદાબેન સતત બાબાભાઈ ની સાથે ખરીદી ને અન્ય બાબતોમાં રહ્યા. એમની સેવાને સલામ

ગણેશ બેસાડ્યા ત્યારની ને જે વસ્તુઓ દીકરીઓને ભેટમાં આપવાની છે. (ભેંસ સિવાયની) ફોટોમાં જોઈ શકાય છે. દીકરીના પિતા બાબાભાઈને લાગે છે કે, ખર્ચમાં પહોંચી નહીં વળાય. પણ જોઈએ સારુ જ થશે એવો વિશ્વાસ છે.
