Life takes a refreshing turn for this young couple….

A freak accident has left Merubhai with a lifelong challenge. Almost three years back Merubhai Devipujak from Deesa in Banaskantha had met with an accident. The bones in one of his legs were shattered. The injury required surgery. However after the surgery he could not stand for more than half an hour. With such medical condition earning a living for the family became difficult. His wife Sita stepped out of home to earn for the family. In the meantime the couple gave birth to a son,  Mukesh. Sitaben also has a medical condition. She suffers from epilepsy. Once while cooking for the family Sitaben suffered a  convulsion and fell on burring stove. She suffered serious burns from neck to waist. Working to earn living was just not possible for Sitaben, now.  She took up begging  while Merubhai stayed back to take care of young Mukesh. 

VSSM happened to know about this family during a meeting with the community members at the settlement a few months ago. The medical conditions of both the earning members of the family had left them reeling under sever poverty. It was cold and the family did not have sufficient clothing to protect themselves from the chill. 

VSSM proposed to support him to start his own small kiosk. Instead of begging this certainly was a good option. Initially Merubhai rented a hand card and began selling potatoes and onions. On his request a shopkeeper permitted him to park the cart in front of his shop. The earning was good and he was gradually picking up  business skills.  Merubhai asked for a loan from VSSM. On receiving  Rs.  5500  loan Merubhai bought his own cart. He has now started selling fresh vegetables took and the earning is also good. He makes a profit of Rs. 150 daily from which he repays the loan with an EMI of Rs. 500.

મેરૂભાઈ અને સીતાબેનનું બદલાયું જીવન...

બનાસકાંઠા જીલ્લાના ડીસામાં રહેતા મેરૂભાઈ દેવીપૂજકને ૩ વર્ષ પહેલાં અકસ્માત થયો. તેમને હોસ્પિટલમાં સારવાર માટે દાખલ કર્યા. મૂળ તો પગના હાડકાં ભાંગી ગયેલા. ઓપરેશન પછી તેઓ ચાલતા તો થયા પણ અડધા કલાકથી વધારે ઊભા રહેવાનું અને ચાલવાનું તેમના માટે મુશ્કેલ બન્યું. એમની પત્ની સીતાબેન છુટક મજુરી કરે અને એમનું ઘર ચાલે. આ સ્થિતિમાં મુકેશનો જન્મ થયો. સીતાબેનને વાઈની બીમારી એક દિવસ એ ચૂલા પર રસોઈ બનાવતા હતા અને એમને વાઈ આવી. એ ચૂલામાં પડ્યા. ગળાથી લઈને કમર સુધી એ ખૂબ દાઝ્યા. એમની સારવાર થઇ પણ એ ઘણું દાઝ્યા હોવાથી મજૂરી કરવાનું જેમાં ખાસ કરીને શારીરિક શ્રમનું કામ એ કરી શકે એ સ્થિતિ ના રહી. છેવટે સીતાબેન ભીખ માંગવા જાય અને મેરૂભાઈ અને મુકેશનું ભારણ પોષણ કરવા માંડ્યા.

vssm દ્વારા ડીસામાં વિચરતી જાતિઓ સાથે એક બેઠકનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું. બેઠક પછી લગભગ રાતના વિચરતી જાતિની વસાહતમાં જવાનું થયું. વસાહતમાં રહેતા લોકો સાથે એક બેઠક કરી. જેમાં સીતાબેન એમના દીકરા મુકેશને લઈને આવ્યા. શિયાળો હતો. ખૂબ ઠંડી પણ. પણ સીતાબેને કંઈ ઓઢયું નોહતું. ના મુકેશે પુરા કપડાં પહેર્યા હતા આવામાં ગરમ કપડાં તો ક્યાંથી હોય. ત્યારે એમની સ્થિતિ વિષે ખ્યાલ આવ્યો.

તે પછી મેરૂભાઈને બોલાવ્યા અને ‘ભીખ માંગવા કરતા એક જગ્યા પર બેસીને કામ થાય તેવી વ્યવસ્થા ગોઠવાય તો કામ કરવાની ઇચ્છા છે?’ એ અંગે પૂછ્યું. એમણે હા પાડી. અમે શાકભાજીની લારી કરવા મદદરૂપ થવા કહ્યું. અમે એમને ભાડેથી લારી લાવીને આપી અને શરૂઆતમાં બટેકા અને ડુંગળી વેચવા કહ્યું. ડીસાના બજારમાં એક ભાઈ સાથે મેરૂભાઈને પોતાની દુકાન સામે ઊભા રહેવા દેવા વિનંતી કરી. એમણે હા પાડી. ધીમે ધીમે મેરૂભાઈ વેપાર કરતા શીખ્યા. તેઓ દરરોજના રૂ.૧૦૦ થી ૧૫૦ કમાવવા માંડ્યા છે. હવે એમણે vssm પાસેથી રૂ.૫૫૦૦ની લોન લઇ પોતાની લારી લીધી છે અને લીલું શાકભાજી વેચે છે. તેઓ રોજના રૂ.૧૫૦ કમાય છે અને દર મહીને vssmને રૂ. ૫૦૦નો હપ્તો લોન પેટે ચૂકવે છે.

મેરૂભાઈ અને સીતાબેનના જીવનમાં ઊજાસ પાથરવામાં મદદરૂપ થનાર દાતાઓનો આ ક્ષણે આભાર વ્યક્ત કરીએ છીએ.

प्रश्न शिर्फ़ चाहत का है..

पाटन जिल्ला में रहती घुमन्तु जाती की एक बैठक ६ मई २०१४ को राधनपुर में आयोजित की गइ. इस बैठक में अलग अगल समुदाय के करीब २०० आगेवान उपस्थित रहे और इन समुदाय की समस्या को सुनने के लिए जिल्ला समाजकल्यान अधिकारी श्री नरेन्द्रभाई जानी और श्रम अध...िकारी श्रीमती कामिनीबेन भी उपस्थित रहे.
समुदाय के लोगोने अपनी परेशानी के बारे मे अधिकार गण के साथ विस्तृत चर्चा की और अधिकारी गण ने भी हर रुपमे मददरूप होने का वादा किया.

ऐसे संवेदना से इन परिवारों के पास जाकर उनकी स्थिति जानकर मदद रूप होने की बात अगर हर अधिकारी करने लगेंगे तो इनकी समस्या दूर होने में ज्यादा समय नहीं लगेगा.

प्रश्न शिर्फ़ चाहत का है और आशा करते है की इस दिशा में हम जरुर कामयाब होंगे ..

વિચરતા સમુદાયના કલાકારોની કળાને સમજ સમક્ષ રજૂ કરવામાં આવી...

તા. ૨૬ એપ્રિલ ૨૦૧૪ના રોજ સાંજના ૭:૩૦વાગે વિચરતા સમુદાયના કલાકારોની વિસરાતી કલાનો  કાર્યક્રમ સદવિચાર પરિવાર કેમ્પસ પર vssm અને સમાજના સહયોગથી આયોજિત થઇ ગયો. આ કાર્યક્રમમાં ભોજન સિવાયનો તમામ ખર્ચ આદરણીય શ્રી પ્રજ્ઞેશભાઈ દેસાઈએ ઉપાડ્યો. સમાજના સહયોગથી આવા કાર્યક્રમો વર્ષમાં ત્રણ થી ચાર વખત થાય તેવું કાર્યક્ર્મને અંતે સૌએ ઈચ્છ્યું. આમ તો આ કાર્યક્રમ આપણા સૌનો હતો પરંતુ, આપ સૌ આ કાર્યક્રમમાં આવી અમને તથા કલાકારોને પ્રોત્સાહિત કર્યા એ માટે આપ સૌના આભારી છીએ.

 

ડફેરના ઘરે જન્મ્યા છે એટલે રંજાડવાનું? આ ક્યાંનો ન્યાય? પોલીસ સમાજની રક્ષક છે કે ભક્ષક?

સુરેન્દ્રનગર જીલ્લાના લીંબડી તાલુકાના ભલગામડાગામમાં સીમરખોપું કરતા ડફેર પરિવારના ૩ વ્યક્તિને સુરેન્દ્રનગર પોલીસ તા. ૧૯ એપ્રિલ ૨૦૧૪ના રોજ સાંજના ૬ વાગે કોઈ પણ ગુના વગર પકડીને લઇ ગઈ. જે ત્રણ વ્યક્તિને પકડીને પોલીસ લઇ ગઈ હતી એમાંના ઈસ્માઈલભાઈને પોલીસે એક જગ્યાએ ગાડી ઊભી રાખી ઉતારીને માર્યા પછી કહ્યું,

‘હથિયાર લઇ આવ?’
ઈસ્માઈલભાઈ એ કહ્યું, ‘સાહેબ મારી પાસે હથિયાર નથી તો કયું હથિયાર લાવું?’
‘ગમે ત્યાંથી લઇ આવ.’

આટલું કહી ઈસ્માઈલભાઈને પોલીસે ત્યાં ઉતારી દીધા અને ૧૫ વર્ષીય હનીફ અને ૨૧ વર્ષીય સદામને સાથે લઇ ગઈ. બે છોકરાને લઇ જઈએ તો ઈસ્માઈલભાઈ ગમે ત્યાંથી હથિયાર લઈને આપશે તેવી આશા સાથે તેમણે આ કૃત્ય કર્યું. પણ ઈસ્માઈલભાઈ પાસે હથિયાર હોય તો પોલીસને આપે ને? રાતના ૧૧ વાગે હનીફની માં ફતીમાંબેનનો ફોન આવ્યો. ફોનમાં ખૂબ રડે, ‘મારા છોકરાંઓનો કંઈ વાંક – ગુનો નથી છતાં પોલીસ પકડીને લઇ ગઈ છે. એમને ખૂબ મારશે. એ પોલીસનો માર સહન ના કરી શકે બેન એને બચાવી લો.’ હું અડધી રાતે શું કરું? મેં DGP, DSP-સુરેન્દ્રનગર, કલેકટર સુરેન્દ્રનગરને email લખ્યો પણ કોઈ જવાબ નહિ. રવિવાર આખો એક ઉચાટમાં ગયો. મન અશાંત થઇ ગયું હતું. પોલીસ ડફેર ઉપર જે રીતે ત્રાસ વર્તાવી રહી છે તે સમજાતું નથી. હું એમ નથી કહેતી કે, બધા ડફેર સારા જ છે. લુંટ નથી કરતા પણ બધા નથી કરતા એ પણ હકીકત છે! છતાં આખા સમુદાયને જે રીતે હેરાન કરવામાં આવી રહ્યો છે તે ગેરબંધારણીય છે.

DGP સાથે આ સમુદાયની એક બેઠક કરવા બાબતે અમે બે મહિના પહેલા લખ્યું. સમાજ સુરક્ષા સેતુ કાર્યક્રમ અંતર્ગત ડફેર સમાજ સાથે બેઠક કરવા અંગે લખ્યું પણ આજ સુધી આ બાબતે કોઈ જવાબ મળ્યો નથી. અહીં પ્રશ્ન થાય છે કે, જે નિર્દોષ છે સખત મહેનત કરી જીવે છે એને વગર વાંકે ફક્ત ડફેરના ઘરે જન્મ્યા છે એટલે રંજાડવાનું? આ ક્યાંનો ન્યાય? પોલીસ સમાજની રક્ષક છે કે ભક્ષક?

તા.૨૧ એપ્રિલના રોજ લીંબડી કોર્ટમાં સુરેન્દ્રનગર પોલીસના આ વર્તન વિષે ફરિયાદ કરી. ન્યાયાધીશે PI LCB અને SP સુરેન્દ્રનગરને શોકોઝ નોટીસ પાઠવી અને પરમ દિવસે(તા.૨૩ એપ્રિલ ૨૦૧૪)ના રોજ હાજર રહેવા કહ્યું.

હાલની માહિતી પ્રમાણે આજે(૨૨/૦૪/૨૦૧૪) LCBએ સદામને લીંબડી પોલીસને સોંપી દીધો. પોલીસ સદામને વસાહતમાં લઈને ગઈ અને ડંગાની ઝડતી લીધી. કશું હાથમાં ન આવ્યું. સાંજે ૫:૦૦ વાગે પોલીસે સદામને કોર્ટમાં હાજર કર્યો અને ગેરકાયદેસર હથિયાર હોવાનો કેસ મુક્યો. કોર્ટે એના એક દિવસના રિમાન્ડ મંજૂર કર્યા.

આ બધામાં એને ગેરબંધારણીય રીતે ૭૨ કલાક સુધી ગોંધી રાખવામાં આવ્યો એની તો કોઈ નોંધ જ ન લેવાઈ! પોલીસે પણ હેરાફેરી કરી ૨૪ કલાકની લીમીટ બતાવી સદામને હાજર કર્યો પણ ૧૫ વર્ષના હનીફ નો હજુ કોઈ અતોપત્તો નથી કારણ કે એ જુવેનાઇલ એક્ટ હેઠળ આવે..

Devipujak are not nomads….

A recent meeting with the  leaders of Nomadic communities living in Ahmedabad has made us revisit our decision of not working in cities.It was always our  impression that the issues the nomadic and de-notified communities residing in cities  are negligible compared to their counterparts in rural areas. But the meeting of 12th April 2014 proved to be an eyeopener. The issues these communities face in the urban areas  are equally complex. 

Most of the  families have been staying in shacks for years but are unable to prove it!! There is a ruling especially for the Nomadic and De-notified tries  by Election Commission that says that no documental evidences are required to be produced to process the application for acquiring  Voters ID card. The ruling requires the Booth level officer to make a night visit to the given address and  validate the given facts. Basis this visit the Voters ID card can be issued. But the apathy is that the officers are both in rural swell as urban areas not prepared to make such visits. Unless these officers are not presserised by their seniors they do not heed. 

Recently when families of Devipujak community filed applications for voters ID card the office of Mamlatdar  conveyed in writing that this community does not feature in Nomadic or De-notified Tribes category and refused to accept their applications. Instead of being sensitive to the need they preached the VSSM team saying  there is so much else do be done, why are you doing such work?? When we argued they asked for proofs and other documents. 

There are  officials within the system who have been supportive,  but how we wish that the tribe of such sensitive and empathetic officials increases..

વિચરતા સમુદાયોને પગભર કરવાના પ્રયાસો.....

ખેતીની સિઝનમાં ખેડૂત ખેતરમાંથી ધાન ઘરે લાવે એ વખતે ભરથરી, બજાણિયા, રાવળ વગેરે જેવી વિચરતી જાતિના લોકો બાંધેલા ગરાસના ગામોમાં ખેડૂતોના ઘરે જતા અને તેમને સૌ માનભેર એમનો હક છે, એમ માની અનાજ આપતા. પણ હવે જમાનો બદલાયો છે લોકો હવે આ પરિવારોને મહેનત કરીને ખાવા કહે છે. જમાનાને ધ્યાનમાં રાખી આ પરિવારોએ પણ યાચક બનવા કરતા સ્વતંત્ર વ્યવસાયો પસંદ કરવા માંડ્યા છે.

બનાસકાંઠાના દિયોદરમાં રહેતા જેઠાભાઈ ભરથરી રાવણહ્થ્થો વગાડી યાચવાનું કામ કરતા. પરંતુ, ઉપર જણાવ્યા પ્રમાણે લોકો મહેનત કરી કમાવવાની સલાહ આપ્યા કરે, આખરે તેમણે યાચવાનું બંધ કરવાનું નકકી કર્યું. એમણે શૃંગારપ્રસાધનો વેચવા માટે લારીની મદદ કરવા આપણને અરજી કરી. એમણે કહ્યું, ‘મારે લારી મફત નથી જોઈતી, હું તમને હપ્તે હપ્તે પૈસા પાછા આપીશ.’ સામે ચાલીને મહેનત કરવાની કોઈ વાત કરે તો એ સમયે એને મદદ કરવી જોઈએ તેવું vssm માને છે. એટલે આપણે જેઠાભાઈને લારી આપવાનું નક્કી કર્યું.

આપણે આ પરિવારને રૂ.૫૫૦૦ ની લારી આપી. આ લારીમાં જેઠાભાઈએ શૃંગાર પ્રસાધનો વેચાવનું શરુ કર્યું છે. જેમાં તેમને રોજના રૂ. ૨૦૦ થી રૂ. ૨૫૦ સુધીનો નફો થાય છે. જેઠાભાઈ ખૂબ ખુશ છે. તેઓ કહે છે કે, ‘વગર વ્યાજે કોઈ આ રીતે મદદ કરે! સંસ્થાએ અમારા પર ભરોષો મુક્યો છે. અમે એ ભરોષો કાયમી રાખીશું. મારા ઘરમાં સૌ ખૂબ રાજી છે.’ જેઠાભાઈ દર મહીને લારીના હપ્તા પેટે રૂ. ૫૦૦ પરત આપે છે. આ રકમ પરત આવતા આપણે બીજા પરિવારોને પણ  રોજગારલક્ષી પ્રવૃત્તિ માટે મદદ કરીશું. 

આજ રીતે દિયોદરમાં રહેતા ચેતનભાઈ કાંગસિયા અને શ્રવણભાઈ કાંગસિયા પણ છૂટક મજૂરી કરતા જેમાં તેમને કાયમી કામ મળે અને ના પણ મળે તેવું થતું. એમણે vssm પાસે લારીની માંગણી ગંજબજારમાંથી સામાન ભરી જેતે દુકાને પહોંચાડવાનું કામ કરવા માટે કરી. આપણે આ બંને ભાઇઓને લારી આપી. તેઓ રોજના રૂ. ૩૦૦ કમાઈ લે છે. ચેતનભાઈ કહે છે, ‘અમે સંસ્થાથી પરિચિત ખરા. પણ જયારે ધંધા માટે લારીની મદદ કરવાની વાત કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું ત્યારે હતું કે, વ્યાજ આછું લે તો સારું. પણ સંસ્થાએ તો અમને વગર વ્યાજે લારી આપી. આ અમારા માટે નવાઈની વાત હતી. અત્યારે તો સૌને વ્યાજવા રૂપિયા ફેરવવામાં જ રસ છે એમાં અમારા જેવા ગરીબો પર ભરોષો મૂકી અમને મદદ કરી એ માટે સંસ્થાનો આભાર માનીએ છીએ...’

દિનેશભાઈ રાવળ પણ લારીની માંગ કરી અને એમને ફ્રુટની લારી દિયોદર બસ સ્ટેશન પાસે કરી. તેઓ લારીનો ઉપયોગ ફ્રુટ વેચવાની સાથે સાથે બસમાં આવતા સામાનને ઉતારી બીજી જગ્યાએ પહોંચાડવામાં પણ કરે છે. આમ તેઓ પણ રોજના રૂ.૩૦૦ કમાઈ લે છે.

ઉપરોક તમામ વ્યક્તિ દર મહીને રૂ.૫૦૦ આપણને પરત આપે છે. વિચરતા સમુદાયને માનભેર રોજગારી મળે તે માટે મદદરૂપ થનાર ‘સ્ટેટ બેંક ઓફ ઇન્ડિયા’(SBI) તથા આદરણીય શ્રી ભારતીબેન પ્રજાપતિના આભારી છીએ. આ દાતાઓ તરફથી મળેલું અનુદાન રોજગારલક્ષી પ્રવૃતિમાં ખર્ચાય છે.  મફતનું નહિ લેવાની ભાવના રાખવાવાળા આવા હજારો પરિવારોને આપણી મદદની જરૂર છે. સાથે મળી સમાજ ઘડતરના આ કામમાં થવાની આશા સાથે...

3500 people had applied for Voters ID card with the help of VSSM

The collapse of  traditional occupations of the Nomadic and De-notified is affecting the migration patterns of these communities.  The families are now leading a more settled lives. The migration period which earlier used to be of 8 to 11 months a year is gradually decreasing. When it comes to settling down these communities are preferring  to settle down in cities and towns as compared to rural areas because of the resistance they face from the rural communities. 

A huge number of Nomadic and De-notified tribes live in the city of Ahmedabad. Inspite of residing here for a couple of years they do not possess any residential or citizenry proofs. This year as a result of the efforts of Chief Election Officer of Gujarat  Ms. Anita Karwal around 3500 people had applied for Voters ID card. The applications were made almost 4 months back and the families have began receiving the cards. 

The individuals from Devipujk community from Kundannagar and  Laxminagar areas with  their new possessions…..

પરંપરાગત વ્યવસાયોના આધારે જીવતા વિચરતા સમુદાયોનું વિચરણ પણ ધીમે ધીમે અટકી રહ્યું છે અથવા વિચરણનો સમય જે પહેલા વર્ષમાં ૮ થી ૧૧ મહિનાનો હતો તે ઘટી ગયો છે. હવે તેઓ છૂટક મજૂરી કરતા થઇ ગયા છે. વળી ગામમાં તેમના વસવાટ સામે વિરોધ થાય પણ શહેરમાં એવા પ્રશ્ન ખાસ થતા નથી. આથી હવે ધીમે ધીમે તેઓ શહેર તરફ આવતા જાય છે. અહી પણ ઓળખના આધારો મેળવવા પુરાવાના પ્રશ્નો તો છે જ! 

પણ ગુજરાતના મુખ્ય નિર્વાચન અધિકારી શ્રી અનિતાબેન કરવાલની મદદથી અને અમદાવાદ જીલ્લાના ચુંટણી અધિકારીની મદદથી અમદાવાદમાં રહેતા વિચરતા સમુદાયના ૩૫૦૦ ઉપરાંત લોકોના મતદાર કાર્ડ માટેના અરજી પત્રક છેલ્લા ૪ મહિનામાં ભર્યા. હવે આ વ્યક્તિઓને કાર્ડ મળવાના શરુ થયા છે.

A good initiative : A gap in funding a constriction of a house was plugged with the help of 'Kalupur Commercial Co-operative Bank'

Owning a home is everybody’s dream, a dream people work hard to realise. And nobody understands the yearning of a home better than the families of Nomadic and De-notified tribes. For generations  these communities have been spending their entire lives on roadsides, in shrubs and bushes, on wastelands,  in ghettos. They have been popularly christened ‘People without Address’. However, since last couple of years VSSM is striving to give these communities an identity and a home of their own. VSSM has supported construction of 209 houses so far,  while we are prepping up for supporting construction of another  468  homes. As per the design worked out by VSSM,  constructing a decent minimalistic house costs around Rs. 1.05 lac.  After the families have been allotted residential plots, they can apply for government support for construction of house. The support government provides is Rs. 45,000/- which by no means is enough to construct a house these days, hence, VSSM provides the  matching amount of Rs. 45,000/- . We still remain short of Rs. 15,000/-.  

The first phase of construction of 468 houses has began with 56  families from Deesa block. These  families are willing to contribute the deficit  amount but for people who are daily wage earners saving even so little  is a daunting task.  Finding options to this situation was a  struggle  as we did not want the families to get in to the debt trap of private money lenders. 

VSSM spoke to The Kalupur Commercial Co-operative Bank about this dilemma. The decision makers of the bank showed an instant readiness to lend money to the families. The families were delighted to learn about this development. The bank processed the applications and gave away cheques to the women of the households at a special event organised at the bank premises on 31st March 2014. As  Shri. Ambubhai Patel the Chairman of  Kalupur Bank puts in, this women had been invited to  the bank,  specifically to attune them on the functioning of bank, help them shed their intimidations about such institutions, help them realise how friendly and approachable banks can be…’ The women decided to paying an EMI of Rs. 500/- . 

VSSM has taken up this daunting task of instilling the habit of saving  amongst the families of nomadic tribes, children’s saving groups, individual saving have been opened,  the beginning has been good and we are hoping for it to continue…...

વિચરતા સમુદાયના ૪૬૮ પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધવાનું આયોજન vssm દ્વારા થઇ રહ્યું છે. જે અંતર્ગત ડીસામાં રહેતા ૫૬ પરિવારોના ઘરનું બાંધકામ પ્રથમ શરુ થયું. સરકાર દ્વારા આ પરિવારોને ઘરના બાંધકામ માટે રૂ. ૪૫,૦૦૦ આપવામાં આવ્યા. પરંતુ આ રકમમાંથી ઘર બાંધી શકાય નહિ. સંસ્થાગત રીતે દાતાઓના સહયોગથી આપણે પ્રત્યેક પરિવારને રૂ.૪૫,૦૦૦ ની મદદ કરી. પણ એક ઘરનો અંદાજ રૂ. ૧,૦૫,૦૦૦ થવા જાય છે. પ્રત્યેક પરિવાર રૂ. ૧૫,૦૦૦ આપશે પણ આપણે જાણીએ છીએ તેમ રોજ લાવીને રોજ ખાવાનું આમાં બચત તો ક્યાંથી થઇ હોય? આ સ્થિતિમાં શું કરવું તે સમજાતું નહોતું. વ્યાજવા પૈસા લેવા જાય તો એનું વ્યાજ જ મહીને માંડ ભરી શકે એમાં મૂડી તો કેવી રીતે ભરે!

આ પરિવારોની આ મૂંઝવણ અંગે ‘ધી કાલુપુર કોમર્શીયલ કો- ઓપરેટીવ બેંક લિમિટેડ’માં વાત કરી અને એમણે આ પરિવારોને લોન આપવાની તૈયારી દર્શાવી. લોન મળી શકે એ અંગે પરિવારોને જાણ થઇ એ ખૂબ રાજી થયા. બેંકે આ પરિવારોના લોન પેપર તૈયાર કર્યા અને ૩૧મી માર્ચના રોજ આ પરિવારની બહેનોને લોનનો ચેક લેવા અમદાવાદ બોલાવી. મૂળ તો અમદાવાદ બોલાવવા પાછળનો હેતુ બેન્કના ચેરમેન આદરણીય શ્રી અંબુભાઈ પટેલ કહે છે તેમ, ‘આ પરિવારો બેંક જુએ અને સાથે સાથે અહી એમને કોઈ પણ કામ માટે લોન જોઇશે તો મળશે એવી ખાત્રી પણ થશે. બેંક એમના માટે છે એવો ભાવ પણ થશે.’ બહેનો અમદાવાદ આવી. એમને દર મહીને હપ્તો કેટલો ભરશો એવું પૂછ્યું, તો એમને જવાબ આપ્યો, મહીને રૂ.૫૦૦ ભરીશું.’ કાર્યક્રમ પત્યા પછી બહેનોને બેંક, બતાવવામાં આવી. તે પછી એમને અતીથી ડાઇનિંગ હોલમાં માં ખૂબ પ્રેમથી જમાડ્યા પછી વિદાય આપી.

વિચરતા સમુદાયો બચત કરતા થાય તે દિશામાં અમે કામ ઉપાડ્યું છે. તેમના બચતજૂથ બનાવ્યા છે સાથે સાથે  વ્યક્તિગત ધોરણે પણ ખાતા ખોલાવ્યા છે. આરંભ સારો થયો છે એટલે અંત પણ સુખદ રેહશે એવી આશા છે...

Smt. Bhartiben had pledged the proceeds from the sale of these paintings to VSSM

On 8th March 2014  an exhibition and sale of paintings by Smt. Bhartiben Prajapati was organised at Mantra Art Gallery. Bhartiben had pledged the proceeds from the sale of these paintings to VSSM. The venue for the event, Mantra Art Gallery was supported by noted painter Mrs. Nayna Soparkar. 

The event was able to raise Rs. 1.27 lacs, which has been donated to VSSM.

We are deeply grateful to  Bhartiben  and Naynaben for their compassion and support.  Such gestures reflect the growing sensitivity of society towards the issues of Nomadic and De-notified tribes. It also reaffirms our belief that more and more people need to come together to create a healthy society.

વિચરતા સમુદાયના લાભાર્થે અમદાવાદના જાણીતા ચિત્રકાર આદરણીય શ્રી ભારતીબેન પ્રજાપતિના ચિત્રોનું પ્રદર્શન સાથે વેચાણનું આયોજન તા.૮ મી માર્ચ ૨૦૧૪ થી કરવામાં આવ્યું. આ પ્રદર્શન માટે જાણીતા ચિત્રકાર આદરણીય શ્રી નયનાબેન સોપારકરે પોતાની મંત્ર આર્ટ ગેલેરી આપી. 

આદરણીય ભારતીબેને પોતાના ચિત્રોના વેચાણથી રૂ.૧.૨૭ લાખ વિચરતા સમુદાયના કામો માટે vssmને અનુદાનમાં આપ્યા. 

વિચરતા સમુદાયો વતી અમે ભારતીબેન અને નયનાબેનનો આ તબક્કે આભાર વ્યકત કરીએ છીએ. સાથે સાથે સમાજમાંથી વિચરતા સમુદાયોના ઉત્થાન માટે જે રીતે લોકો જોડાઈ રહ્યા છે તે માટે વિશેષ આનંદ.. વંચિતોના વિકાસ માટે સૌ સાથે મળીને પ્રયત્ન કરીએ તો ઘણું કામ થઇ શકે..

17 families received the BPL cards and 8 families received the Antyoday cards

A number of nomadic families from Patan's Sami block have their names listed in the BPL list and yet have received APL-1 category Ration Cards.  Inspite of an existant  government resolution stating that families featuring  in the BPL list have to be allotted  BPL ration card, the families were allotted APL cards. The application to amend the type of the card was made almost an year ago but the officials did not pay heed to the repeated requests. Same was the case with 8 nomadic families  living in makeshift  houses in Jesada village. These families have recently been allotted residential plots because of the efforts of VSSM. We made frequent requests to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and issue the appropriate cards to the families but there was no response from the local authorities. Finally a complaint was sent to the Food and Civil Supplies Department in Gandhinagar. The Mamlatdar was ordered by authorities in Gandhinagar to do the rightful. 17 families received the BPL cards and 8 families received the Antyoday cards.

૨૫ પરિવારોને મળ્યા BPL તથા અંત્યોદયકાર્ડ

પાટણ જીલ્લાના સમી તાલુકામાં રહેતા વિચરતી જાતિના અને BPL યાદીમાં સમાવિષ્ટ પરિવારો પાસે APL -1 પ્રકારનું રેશનકાર્ડ છે. BPL યાદીમાં જે પરિવારોનો સમાવેશ થયો છે તે પરિવારોને BPL રેશનકાર્ડ આપવાનો ઠરાવ છે. આ ઠરાવના આધારે સમી તાલુકાના ગામોમાં રહેતા ૧૭ પરિવારો જેમની પાસે APL -1 પ્રકારનું રેશનકાર્ડ છે અને તેમનો સમાવેશ BPL યાદીમાં થયેલો છે, તેમને ઠરાવ પ્રમાણે BPL રેશનકાર્ડ મળે તે માટે ૧ વર્ષ પહેલા મામલતદાર કચેરી – સમીમાં અરજી કરી હતી. આજ રીતે જેસડાગામમાં છાપરામાં રહેતા ૮ પરિવારો જેમને હમણાં જ vssm ના પ્રયત્નથી રહેવા માટે પ્લોટ મળ્યા છે, તે પરિવારોને અંત્યોદયકાર્ડ મળે તે માટેની રજૂઆત પણ કરી હતી.  પણ અમારી અરજી અન્વયે કંઈ કાર્યવાહી થતી નહોતી. આખરે ગાંધીનગર ‘અન્ન નાગરિક પુરવઠા અને ગ્રાહકોની બાબતના વિભાગ’માં રજૂઆત કરતા ગાંધીનગરથી મામલતદાર શ્રીને સુચના આપવામાં આવતા આ ૧૭ પરિવારોને BPL રેશનકાર્ડ તથા ૮ પરિવારોને અંત્યોદયકાર્ડ આપવામાં આવ્યા.
