The people of village Padardi regretted not filtering and deepening the lake every year, especially after seeing how it had become as shallow as a saucer. If they had maintained the lake regularly, it wouldn't have required a significant amount of money to restore it. Now, however, a large sum of money is needed to restore the lake, which, for them, is a "Jalmandir."

Kakar village is located next to Padardi in Banaskantha, where families of florists reside. We strive to support the welfare of these families. Whenever we visit Banaskantha, we stay in Kakar, which is why Paadardi has caught our attention during our travels back and forth.

The people of Paadardi are aware that we rejuvenate lakes and transform them into Jalmandirs. They requested our help to deepen their village lakes. With the assistance of the GIA organization, we worked on deepening the lakes located on the village border. As a result, water from the river Maa Reva-Narmada flowed in, filling the entire lakes to the brim.

In Paadardi village, the water level has dropped to between 1,000 and 1,100 feet deep, causing five to ten borewells to fail each year. Given this situation, recharging the lakes solely with monsoon water seemed impossible. However, the government supported the villagers through the Maa Narmada initiative. Two lakes, excavated with the assistance of VSSM and the Vimukta Foundation, were successfully filled with water. As a result, farmers will no longer need to lift water from a depth of a thousand feet. Traditionally, seventy to eighty horsepower motors have been required to operate borewells. However, only a five-horsepower motor is needed to run a machine placed in a lake to draw water for irrigation.

The reduction in electricity bills is a notable benefit. Additionally, the wells in the surrounding area are being recharged thanks to the water that percolates through the bottoms of the lakes. These lakes benefit not only the farmers of Padardi village but also those from neighborhood village of Nikoi.

Seeing the filled lakes, the eyes of many farmers in the village fill with tears. The villagers say, "If the lake was not dug, the billions of liters of water that have been filled with it today, would not have been filled."

When the Jalmandir is filled with water, it not only supports the lives of farmers but also brings happiness to all living beings in the surroundiing world!

Thanks to you, GIA,  and the support of many well-wishers like you, we have successfully rejuvenated 325 lakes so far.

We are committed to rejuvenating 1,000 Jalmandirs, and we pray to God to help us achieve this noble, divine goal.

ગામના છીછરી રકાબી જેવા થઈ ગયેલા તળાવો જોઈને દર વર્ષે તળાવ ગાળવાનું કેમ ન કર્યું એવો અફસોસ પાદરડીગામના સૌને થયો. જો દર વર્ષે તળાવ ગાળ્યું હોત તો બહુ મોટો ખર્ચો ન થાત. પણ રકાબી જેવા આમ તો એક હતું તળાવ એવી સ્થિતિએ પહોંચેલું તળાવ - જલમંદિર ગાળવા લાખો રૃપિયા જોઈએ. 

બનાસકાંઠાના પાદરડીની બાજુમાં કાકર ગામ ત્યાં ફૂલવાદી પરિવારો રહે. અમે આ પરિવારોના કલ્યાણના કામોમાં નિમિત્ત બનીએ. આમ તો બનાસકાંઠા હોઈએ ત્યારે રોકાણ પર કાકરમા. એટલે પાદરડી તો જતા આવતા ધ્યાને આવે. 

જલમંદિરના નિર્માણનું કાર્ય અમે કરીએ એવી પાદરડી વાસીઓને ખબર એટલે એમણે પોતાના ગામના તળાવોને ઊંડા કરવા વિનંતી કરી. ગામની સીમમાં આવેલું તળાવ અમે GIA સંસ્થાની મદદથી ઊંડુ કર્યું. આ ઊંડા કરેલા તળાવમાં મા રેવા- નર્મદાનું પાણી આવ્યું ને આખુ તળાવ સરસ ભરાયું.

પાદરડી ગામમાં પાણીના તળ 1000 થી 1100 ફૂટે પહોંચ્યા. દર વર્ષે પાંચ - દસ બોરવેલ ફેઈલ થઈ જાય. આવી સ્થિતિમાં માત્ર ચોમાસાના પાણીથી તળ રીચાર્જ થાય એ અસંભવ લાગતું હતું. પણ સરકાર મા નર્મદાના માધ્યમથી ગામલોકોની વહારે આવી અને VSSM, વિુમક્ત ફાઉન્ડેશનની મદદથી ખોદેલા બેય તળાવો સરસ ભરાયા. જેના કારણે ખેડૂતોને હવે હજાર ફૂટથી પાણી ઉલેચવા નહીં પડે. બોરવેલમાં સીત્તેર એંસી હોર્સ પાવરની મોટર ચાલે. પણ તળાવમાં મશીન મુકી પાંચ હોર્સ પાવરની મોટરથી સિંચાઈ માટે પાણી લઈ જઈ શકાય છે.

વીજબીલમાં પણ ફાયદો થયો. વળી તળ પણ તળાવો ભરાવના કારણે રીચાર્જ થઈ રહ્યા છે. પાછુ આ તળાવ ભરાવવાથી માત્ર પાદરડી નહીં પણ નેકોઈ ગામના ખેડૂતોને પણ ફાયદો થયો.

ભરાયેલા તળાવ જોઈને ગામના અનેક ખેડૂતોની આંખમાં ઝળઝળિયા આવી જાય છે. ગામલોકો કહે છે, "જો તળાવ ખોદાયું ન હોત તો આજે જે કરોડો લીટર પાણી એમાં ભરાયું છે એ ન ભરાયું હોત."

જલમંદિરોમાં પાણી ભરાય તો ખેડૂતની સાથે સાથે સમગ્ર જીવ સૃષ્ટિ પણ રાજી...

Yash is a very young person with a "can-do" attitude. He provides regular funding for the social work we do, but we had never met before. This morning, he called and expressed his desire to meet. Coincidentally, I was in Ahmedabad, so I invited him to come over after four o'clock.

When he arrived, I found Yash to be very sensitive and well-read. He bought three of the books I have written and mentioned that he had read "Why Should We Give It Up?" He promised to read the other two books as soon as possible.

I asked him why he wanted to meet, and he simply replied, "Just like that!" Then he took out his cheque book and wrote a cheque for Rs. 50,000. Typically, at his age, young people spend their money on fun or to pursue their hobbies and dreams, but Yash is different—he is unique. He must have had this spirit of service since the beginning, which is why he is able to part with his money so generously.

However, not everyone is destined to use their money for charitable purposes. It requires unique qualities to be a donor, and only those chosen by God have the ability to give.

I was genuinely thrilled meeting him. So many young people like Yash represent the future of India. The progress of our country depends on such youngsters. Yash does not focus on his own happiness; instead, he aims to contribute to the happiness of others.

I pray that God blesses Yash with abundance and that he achieves tremendous success in his service endeavors. I also want to salute his parents for raising such a remarkable young person. Meeting him was a pleasure for me.

યશ એકદમ તરવરિયો જુવાન.

અમે જે સમાજ કાર્ય કરીએ તેમાં એ નિયમીત અનુદાન આપે. પણ મળવાનું ક્યારેય નહોતું થયું. આજે સવારે એનો ફોન આવ્યો ને મળવા આવવું છે એવું કહ્યું. અનાયાસે આજે હું અમદાવાદમાં હતી એટલે ચાર વાગ્યા પછી આવવા કહ્યું. 

એ આવ્યો. એકદમ સંવેદનશીલ એવો યશ વાંચે ખુબ. એણે મે લખેલા ત્રણે પુસ્તકો ખરીદ્યા. એમાંથી “ઈને જાકારો કેમ દેવાય” એણે વાંચ્યું. ને બાકીના પણ હું ઝટ વાચી લઈશ એમ કહ્યું. અણે ખરીદેલા મારા પુસ્તકમાં ઓટોગ્રાફ લખી આપવા કહ્યું. મે આશિષ લખ્યા...

મે પુછ્યું, “કેમ મળવું હતું.” તો કહે, “બસ એમ જ” એ પછી એણે ચેકબુક કાઢીને 50,000નો ચેક લખ્યો.

સામાન્ય રીતે આ ઉંમરે યુવાનો મોજ શોખમાં પોતાના સમણા પૂરા કરવા પૈસા ખર્ચે પણ યશ નોખો હતો. એનામાં આવી સેવા પારાયણ ભાવના પહેલાથી હશે એટલે જ એ આપી શક્યો.

બાકી દાન આપવું બધાના નસીબમાં નહીં.. દાન આપવા પાત્રતા જોઈએ અને ઈશ્વર જેને પસંદ કરે એ દાન આપી શકે.

યશને જોઈને રાજી થવાયું. યશ જેવા અનેક યુવાનો ભારતનું ભાવી.. આવા યુવાનો થકી જ દેશની પ્રગતિ થવાની.. યશ પોતાના સુખનો વિચાર નથી કરતો પણ એ અન્યોના સુખમાં સહભાગી બનવાનું વિચારે. 

આવા યશને ઈશ્વર ખુબ આપે તેવી પ્રાર્થના ને સેવાના ક્ષેત્રમાં એ ખુબ ઉન્નત થાય તેવી શુભભાવના...

Maniba gives blessings to Mittal Patel

 "I don’t go to anyone’s house. I just take care of my household and worship God by singing hymns (Bhajans).”

“Do you know how to sing Bhajan?”

“Yes.”

“Then sing a nice Bhajan for us.”

So, 'Mani Baa' from Surendranagar sang: “Where did old age come from, if the ears cannot hear and the eyes cannot see?”

Baa once had a large family, but Mother Nature had different plans. Two of her sons died when they were fifteen years old. Another son got married, but his kidney failed, and he too passed away. Her brother also left this world after her sons.

How does a family living on labor manage to sustain themselves? Neighbors sometime provide Mani Baa with food. She says, “Modi sends 1,200. That helps a little bit.”

At first, I didn’t understand what she meant by “Modi’s 1,200.” Then I realized she was referring to the Prime Minister.

She has a home, but it is supported by rough wooden beams on the inside. The wooden ceiling is infested with termites, which fall on her while she sleeps in her bed at night. You cannot discern these issues when observing her house from the outside, but they become apparent once you see the interior.

If ManiBaa receives her monthly ration, she would not have to rely on her neighbors for food. One senior living nearby, who receives monthly rations from us, shared this information with our activist, Harshadbhai.

Afterwards, Harshadbhai met with ManiBaa and learned about her situation. He began providing her with monthly rations. She told him, "Now I can prepare my own meals. Previously, they would come and give me food at their convenience. Now, I don’t have to wait for them."

We also plan to build a small house for her, complete with a toilet and bathroom. With the help of the respected Kishorebhai Patel, we will construct Baa's home in the style of KUSH Home, in memory of our dear friend Kushalbhai.

We are proud to be instrumental in providing monthly rations to 700 destitute seniors and are also involved in building homes for 1,751 families. We feel blessed that we can contribute to such meaningful work, and we express our gratitude to all who support this selfless endeavor.

“હું કોઈના ઘીરે નો જાવું. મારુ ઘર હંભાળું ને ભગવાનનું ભજન કરુ.”

“ભજન આવડે?”

“હા”

“તો એક સરસ ભજન અમને પણ સંભળાવો”

ને સુરેન્દ્રનગરના મણી બાએ ઘડપણ ક્યાંથી આવ્યું ઘડપણ, કાને સંભળાય નહીં આંખે દેખાય નહીં ગાયું. બા નો પરિવાર એક વખત ભર્યો ભાદર્યો હતો. પણ કુદરતને કાંઈક જુદું મંજુર હતું. બે દિકરા પંદર -પંદર વર્ષના થયા ત્યારે ગુજરી ગયા ને એક દિકરો પરણાવ્યો પણ એની કિડની ફેઈલ થઈ ને એ પણ દુનિયા છોડી ગયો. દિકરાઓ પછી કાકા પણ ગયા. 

મજૂરી પર નભનાર પરિવાર પાસે બચત તો ક્યાં હોય જેના પર નભાય?

આડોશી પાડોશી મણીબાને ખાવાનું આપે ને મણીબા કહે એમ, “મોદી 1200 આલે તે એના પર હખડ ડખળ હાલે”

પહેલા તો મોદીના 1200? મને સમજાયું નહીં. પછી ખ્યાલ આવ્યો વડાપ્રધાનની વાત કરે છે.

એમની પાસે ઘર ખરુ પણ અંદર ટેકા ઊભા કરેલા. લાકડાની પીઢો એમાં ઊધઈ થઈ ગઈ છે તે બા રાતના ખાટલામાં સુતા હોય તો ઉધઈ ખરે. ઘર બહારથી જોઈએ તો આ બધો ખ્યાલ ન આવે પણ અંદરથી જોઈએ ત્યારે ખ્યાલ આવે. 

આવા મણીબા ને દર મહિનાનું રાશન મળી જાય તો એમને પડોશીઓની ઓશિયાળી ન રહે. એવું એમની નજીકમાં રહેતા અને અમે જેમને દર મહિને રાશન આપતા અમારા એક માવતરે અમારા કાર્યકર હર્ષદભાઈને કહ્યું. 

એ પછી હર્ષદભાઈ મણીબાને મળ્યા. સમગ્ર સ્થિતિ જાણી અને દર મહિને રાશન આપવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. રાશન મળવાથી બાને નિરાંત થઈ. એમણે કહે, “હવે જાતે બનાવીને ખાઉં છું. પહેલા પડોશી એમના ટાઈમે આપવા આવતા હવે મારે એમની રાહ નથી જોવી પડતી.”

આવા બાનું નાનકડુ ઘર ટોયલેટ, બાથરૃમ સાથેનું બંધાય તે પણ કરીશું. આદરણીય કિશોરભાઈ પટેલની મદદથી પ્રિય કુશલભાઈની સ્મૃતિમાં કુશ હોમના રૃપમાં બાનું ઘર બાંધીશું.

700 નિરાધાર માવતરોને દર મહિને રાશન આપવામાં નિમિત્ત બનીએ. સાથે 1751 પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધવામાં પણ નિમિત્ત થયા. આવા શુભકાર્યોમાં ઈશ્વર નિમિત્ત બનાવે છે એનો રાજીપો.. ને આ કાર્યમાં મદદ કરનાર સૌ પ્રત્યે કૃતજ્ઞતા.

Many years ago, there were no water taps, and the only source of drinking water in our area was the lakes. Whenever someone went to the lake to collect water, they would come back with a pot filled with water as well as a clump of dirt, referred to as "KHOTT." They would leave this KHOTT on the edge of the lake. Both the villagers and any passersby who filled their containers at the lake would take some KHOTT and discard it outside. This could be considered a form of water tax, if you think about it.

Rameshbhai from Khodagam in Banaskantha, along with others in the village, shared the following story with us. The lakes thrived primarily because they provided essential support for the people's livelihoods, leading to a belief that water should not be taken from the lakes for free.

However, with the introduction of borewell technology, many of these lakes were abandoned. This led to a deterioration in the condition of water-bearing reservoirs. Additionally, excessive groundwater extraction caused a significant drop in the water table. As a result, the situation in North Gujarat worsened due to the declining groundwater levels.

The government is consistently concerned about water management. Organizations like ours, in collaboration with the village, have taken on the task of renovating lakes, known as Jal Mandirs. The government has also contributed by filling a number of ponds with water from Mother Reva.

Together, VSSM, KRSF, and the Vimukt Foundation have deepened 336 lakes, and this number is expected to increase. We are pleased with the progress we have made.

One notable project was the deepening of the Khodagam lake in Banaskantha, supported by the Neogen Company. The village was very receptive to this initiative. Neogen covered the excavation expenses, while local villagers assisted by transporting soil with their tractors.

As a result, the lake in the higher lands of Khodagam was successfully excavated, increasing its capacity to hold millions of liters of water. Narmada's water will also be channeled into this lake, ensuring that the village has access to water not only during the monsoon but throughout the year. This will also help recharge the lower water table.

We are especially grateful to Binaben Kanani, Harishbhai Kanani, and Harinbhai from Neogen for their unwavering support in our social work over the years. 

We pray for Meghraja (the monsoon) to shower its blessings forever on all living organisms.

 "પહેલા પીવાનુ પાણી પહેલા ક્યાં નળથી મળતું! અમારા વિસ્તારમાં તો તળાવો પીવાના પાણીનો આધાર હોતા. એટલે કોઈ પણ માણસ તળાવમાં પાણી ભરવા આવે એટલે કે ગડુરુ  કે માટલી ભરીને તળાવમાંથી બહાર નીકળે ત્યારે સાથે એક ખોટ( માટીનું ઢેફુ) લઈને બહાર આવે. આ ખોટ એ તળાવની પાળ પર નાખે. 

ગામના જ નહીં વટેમાર્ગુ પણ તળાવમાંથી પાણી ભરે ને સામે ખોટ ઉપાડી તળાવ બહાર નાખે. આને જળ કર કહેવો હોય તો પણ કહી શકાય."

બનાસકાંઠાના ખોડાગામના રમેશભાઈએ અને ગામના અન્ય સૌએ એમને આ વિગત કહી.

તળાવો જીવંત હતા એનું મુખ્ય કારણ લોકોનો જીવવાનો એ આધાર હતા. એટલે તળાવમાંથી મફત પાણી ન લેવાય એવી માન્યતા પણ પ્રચલિત હતી.

આવા તળાવો બોરવેલની ટેકનોલોજી આવી એટલે ભૂલાયા. ને જળ ધારણ કરનાર વાસણની દશા માઠી થઈ. વળી બોરવેલ થકી અમાપ પાણી ઉલેચાયા પરિણામે ભૂગર્ભ જળ પણ ભયંકર સ્થિતિએ પહોંચ્યા.

ઉત્તર ગુજરાતની સ્થિતિ ભૂગર્ભજળને લઈને માઠી થઈ. 

સરકાર પણ આ બાબતે સતત ચિંતીત. અમારા જેવી સંસ્થાઓએ ગામ સાથે મળીને જલમંદિરો - તળાવોના નવીનીકરણ નું કામ ઉપાડ્યું. સાથે સરકારે મા-રેવાના પાણીની શક્ય તળાવો ભરવા કોશીશ કરી.

VSSM, KRSF અને વિમુક્ત ફાઉન્ડેશને મળીને 336 તળાવો ઊંડા કર્યા. આ આંકડો વધતો જવાનો.. એનો અમને આનંદ.

બનાસકાંઠાના ખોડાગામનું તળાવ અમે નિયોજેન કંપનીની મદદથી ઊંડુ કર્યું. ગામ આખુ ઘણું સંવેદનશીલ એમણે તળાવમાંથી માટી ઉપાડી ને ખોદકામ નો ખર્ચ નિયોજેનને કર્યો. 

આમ ખોડાનું સૌથી ઊંચાણમાં આવેલું તળાવ ગળાયું. કરોડો લીટર પાણી ભરાય એવી ક્ષમતા તળાવની થઈ. નર્મદાના નીર પણ આ તળાવમાં નંખાશે. આમ ચોમાસા સિવાય પણ ગામને પાણી મળશે. તળ રિચાર્જ પણ થશે.

નિયોજેનમાંથી આદરણીય બિનાબેન કાનાણી, હરીશભાઈ કાનાણી, હરિનભાઈ સૌના અમે આભારી છીએ. એમની લાગણી વર્ષોથી અમે જે સમાજ કાર્યો કરીએ તેમાં..

These words by Harvansh Rai Bachchan are truly majestic: "Because water is colorless, it takes on the color of whatever it mixes with." However, on the other hand, in a real world scenario, our hearts will ache when we hear from people living in places where water is scarce or difficult to access.

Kuvaataa village in Banaskantha is facing a severe water crisis. Groundwater levels have plummeted drastically. Water was extracted from a borewell installed by Panchayat, which subsequently got damaged due to the decreased water depth. Even if a new borewell is installed, there is no assurance of finding water.

The village is in urgent need of access to drinking water. Farmers have borewells on their farms, but each year, some of these borewells either fail, require new columns to be installed, or experience a drop in water inflow. The situation in Kuvaataa has turned the village into a place that feels abandoned and desolate.

The village leaders of Kuvaataa sent us a message requesting assistance in deepening the lake to collect rainwater. With the support of Rosy Blue Pvt Ltd., we began the excavation of the lake. The villagers are hopeful that filling the lake with water will help raise the groundwater level in the surrounding area. As a result, everyone in the village participated in removing soil from the lake using tractors.

We are thankful to the esteemed Russelbhai Mehta, associated with VSSM. Through his company, Rosy Blue, we are deepening many lakes and planting numerous trees in North Gujarat, more particularly in Banaskantha.

If everyone who has been blessed with wealth from God begins to use their resources for the betterment of others, the world could become a paradise. We are extremely grateful to Russelbhai and his family for their efforts. They are using their wealth to help communities where people are on the brink of dying due to a lack of water.

We dug the Kuvaataa lake a lot deeper. Monsoon-Meghraajaa will definitely be kind, but we will also try to ensure that this lake is filled with water from Maa Reva, the Narmada River.

Shri Keshaji Chauhan, the MLA of Deodar Taluka, is very proactive in his efforts. He is consistently working to bring Narmada's water to his region and address the water scarcity issue. Additionally, he has made the decision to decline any honors until the water problem is resolved.

The village leader and Sarpanch, Shri Tejabhai, is working hard to strengthen Kuvaataa's water resources. Our activist, Naranbhai, and his team are continually considering which village would benefit most from having a lake. We are proud to have such an enthusiastic team on our side.

VSSM and the Vimukt Foundation have currently deepened 336 lakes in North Gujarat, which are now filled with billions of liters of water. We have set a goal to excavate or dig 1,000 lakes in the next ten years. We pray that God will help us achieve this vision.

પાણી જેનો રંગ નથી પણ એ જ્યાં પડે ત્યાં બધુ રંગીન થઈ જાય. જ્યાં પાણી નથી અથવા મળવું મુશ્કેલ છે એ લોકો પાસે જઈએ એમની વાતો સાંભળીએ તો હચમચી જવાય.

બનાસકાંઠાનું કુવાતા. ભૂગર્ભજળ ભયંકર સ્થિતિએ પહોંચ્યા છે. પીવાનું પાણી પંચાયતે બનાવેલા બોરવેલ થી મળતું એ બોરવેલ પણ તળ ઊંડા જવાથી બગડી ગયો. નવો બોરવેલ કરે તો પણ પાણી મળે તેની કોઈ ખાત્રી નથી.

ગામ પીવાના પાણી માટે વલખા મારે એવી હાલત છે. સીમમાં ખેડૂતોએ બોરવેલ કર્યા છે. એ બોરવેલમાંથી પણ દર વર્ષે બોરવેલ ક્યાં ફેઈલ જાય છે ક્યાં નવી કોલમ ઉતારવી પડે ક્યાં તો પાણીની આવક ઘટી છે.

ત્રાહીમામ પોકારી ઉઠે એવી સ્થિતિ કુવાતાની છે.

આવા કુવાતામાં વરસાદી પાણી સંગ્રહ કરવા તળાવ ઊંડુ કરવા માટે અમને ગામના આગેવાનોએ કહેણ મોકલ્યું. રોઝી બ્લ્યુ પ્રા.ઈન્ડિયા. લી. કંપનીની મદદથી અમે તળાવ ખોદવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. ગામના સૌને તળાવમાં પાણી ભરાશે તો તળ ઉપર આવવાની આશા છે એટલે સૌ કોઈ ટ્રેક્ટર થકી માટી ઉલેચવાનું કર્યું.

vssm સાથે સંક્ળાયેલા સ્નેહીજન આદરણીય રસેલભાઈ મહેતાના અમે આભારી છીએ. રોઝી બ્લુ થકી અમે ઉત્તર ગુજરાતમાં ખાસ કરીને બનાસકાંઠામાં ઘણા તળાવો તેમજ વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનું કરી રહ્યા છીએ.

ઈશ્વરે જેેમને ઘન સંપદા આપી છે તે સૌ જીવ કલ્યાણના કાર્યોમાં આ પ્રકારે વાપરવાનું કરે તો દુનિયા રૃડી થઈ જાય. રસેલભાઈ તેમજ તેમના પરિવારના અમે ઘણા આભારી છીએ. એમણે એવી જગ્યાએ પોતાની સંપત્તી વાપરી રહ્યા છે જ્યાં લોકો પાણી વગર જાણે જીવ પર આવી ગયા છે.

કુવાતનું તળાવ તો ઘણું ઊંડુ કર્યું. મેઘરાજા તો મહેરબાન થશે પણ સાથે સાથે મા રેવા એટલે કે નર્મદાના નીર પણ આ તળાવમાં નંખાય એ માટે કોશીશ કરીશું.

દિયોદર તાલુકાના ધારાસભ્ય શ્રી કેશાજી ચૌહાણ પણ જાગતલ છે. એ પોતે નર્મદાના નીર પોતાના તાલુકામાં આવે ને પાણીની સમસ્યાનો ઉકેલ આવે તે માટે સતત પ્રયત્નશીલ છે. એમણે જળની સમસ્યાનું સમાધાન ન થાય ત્યાં સુધી સન્માન ન સ્વીકારવાનો નિર્ણય પણ કર્યો છે.

ગામના સરપંચ શ્રી આગેવાન તેજાભાઈ ને અન્ય સૌ પણ કુવાતા પાણીદાર બને તે માટે મથે. અમારા કાર્યકર નારણભાઈ અને એમની ટીમ પણ સતત ક્યા ગામોમાં તળાવ કરવું, ગામને એનાથી શું ફાયદો થશે એ બાબતે ચિંંતીત..આવી મજાની ટીમ સાથે હોવાનું ગૌરવ.

vssm અને વિમુક્ત ફાઉન્ડેશને મળીને અત્યાર સુધી 336 જેટલા તળાવો ઉત્તર ગુજરાતમાં ઊંડા કર્યા છે. આ તળાવો કરોડો લીટર પાણીથી ભરાયા છે. આવનારા દસ વર્ષમાં 1000 તળાવ કરવાનો નિર્ધાર છે. ઈશ્વર આ મનોરથ પૂર્ણ કરાવે તેવી પ્રાર્થના.

તળાવ એક વખત ગામની ધરોહર ગણાતા. 

આપણા પ્રસંગોમાં, આપણી માન્યતાઓમાં એનું અનેરુ સ્થાન.

પણ આપણે વિકાસની દિશામાં પગરણ માંડ્યાને ધરોહરો ભૂલાવવા માંડી.આપણા સૌની અને સૌથી અગત્યનું પાણીની હાજરીથી જીવંત થતા તળાવો આજે પાણી અને આપણા બેયની જાણે કાગડોળે વાટ જુએ.

આવા તળાવો - જલમંદિરોના જીર્ણોદ્ધારનો અમારો પ્રકલ્પ..

ઉનાળાના બળબળતા તાપમાં જ એનો જીર્ણોદ્ધાર થાય. માથે કપડુ નાખીને પણ જીવંત થતા તળાવોનો હરખ જોવા જવાનું કરીએ..

"मै कडी धूप में चलता हूं

ईस यकीन के साथे

मैं जलुंगा तो मेरे 

घर में उजाला होगा

घर मे चूला जलेगा.."

"I walk in the scorching sun

With this belief;

If I burn, 

my house will be lit and

Food would be cooked on the burning stove."

Proving these poetic lines, I happened to meet some families in the border area of the small desert of Paatdi, Dasaadaa, which is known for its saline soil in Gujarat. 

One notable village is Jaravala, where the Bajaniya families of nomadic tribe reside, located away from the main village. We arrived in the sweltering heat to find that these families live in clay huts on land owned by the forest department. Their livelihood depends on agricultural labor; however, the area's conditions mean they do not have consistent work throughout the year.

In this situation, we applied for the Antyodaya Ration Card to ensure food security for these families. The government is very responsive to this issue. The Honorable Chief Minister and the Welfare Department have been extremely supportive of our mission. With their cooperation, we have successfully provided Antyodaya cards to thousands of families so far.

After advocating for families living in Jarvalaa, they successfully received their Antyodaya cards. We also played a key role in helping these families obtain their Caste Certificates. Currently, we are working to secure a permanent place for them to live. The Honorable Chief Minister is also supportive of this cause, which gives us hope that this task will be completed quickly.

Surendranagar Collector Dr. Rajendra Kumar is a compassionate officer. We met him as well, and he has promised to assist homeless families from nomadic tribes living in Surendranagar district. We are thankful for his support.

Gelabhai expresses his happiness about receiving the ration card. "To be honest, we don't have the skills to handle the paperwork in government offices. But after getting the card, we receive 35 kg of grains, sugar, and sometimes pulses as well. This support means a lot to us."

Supporting families like Gelabhai's would be impossible without a strong team. This mission is made possible thanks to the support of Respected Pratulbhai Shroff and the Dr. K R Shroff Foundation, for which we are very grateful. 

All of this has been achieved through the hard work of our dedicated activists, Harshadbhai and Chhanabhai, from Surendranagar. We are fortunate to have such committed volunteers on our team.

આ પંક્તિઓને સાર્થક કરતા પરિવારોને હમણાં મળવાનું થયું. ગુજરાતનો ખારોપાટ એટલે પાટડી, દસાડાનો નાના રણની કાંધીએ આવેલો વિસ્તાર. 

ત્યાંનું જરવલા ગામ. બજાણિયા પરિવારો ગામથી દૂર રહે. બળબળતી ગરમીમાં અમે ત્યાં પહોંચ્યા. જંગલ  વિભાગની જમીનમાં ગાર માટીમાંથી બનાવેલા ઘરોમાં આ પરિવારો રહે. ખેતમજૂરી પર સૌ નભે. પણ વિસ્તાર  એવો તે બારે મહિના મજૂરી ન મળે. 

આવામાં આ પરિવારોની અન્ન સુરક્ષા જળવાય તે માટે અમે અત્યોદય રેશનકાર્ડ માટે અરજી કરી. સરકાર વિચરતી જાતિઓના મુદ્દે ઘણી સંવેદનશીલ આદરણીય મુખ્યમંત્રી તેમજ પૂરવઠા વિભાગ પણ અમને આ કાર્યમાં ખુબ સહયોગ કરે. એમના સહયોગથી અત્યાર સુધી હજારો પરિવારોને અંત્યોદય કાર્ડ અમે અપાવી શક્યા છીએ. 

જરવલામાં રહેતા પરિવારોને અંત્યોદય કાર્ડ મળે તે કરેલી રજૂઆતને પગલે તેમને અંત્યોદય કાર્ડ મળ્યા. જાતિના પ્રમાણપત્ર આ પરિવારોને મળે તે માટે પણ નિમિત્ત બન્યા.

બસ હવે રહેવા પોતાની જગ્યા મળે તે માટે મથી રહ્યા છીએ. આદરણીય મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીની લાગણી છે તો એ કાર્ય પણ ઝટ પતશે એમ લાગે છે. 

સુરેન્દ્રનગર કલેક્ટર શ્રી ડો. રાજેન્દ્રકુમાર પણ ઘણા ભલા અધિકારી. એમને પણ મળવાનું થયું. એમણે વિચરતી જાતિના સુરેન્દ્રનગર જિલ્લામાં રહેતા ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારોને મદદ કરવાની ખાતરી આપી છે. એમની આ લાગણી માટે પણ આભારી..

રેશનકાર્ડ મળ્યાનો હરખ કેવો એ અંગે ગેલાભાઈ કહે, “હાચુ કહીએ તો સરકારી કચેરીમાં કાગળિયા કરવાની અમારી આવડત નહીં. પણ કાર્ડ મળ્યા પછી અમને 35 કિ.ગ્રામ અનાજ, ખાંડ અને ક્યારેક દાળ પણ મળે છે. અમને એનાથી મોટો ટેકો..”

ગેલાભાઈ જેવા પરિવારોને ટેકો આપવાનું કાર્ય મજબૂત ટીમ વગર અશક્ય. આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ - ડો. કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન આ કાર્યમાં મોટો ટેકો કરે એટલે આ બધુ થાય. પ્રતુલભાઈના અમે ઘણા આભારી.

"We are undertaking the task of constructing water temples in North Gujarat. So far, we have renovated 325 ponds and water temples.

Sometimes we wonder, will we do something for future generations, just like our ancestors and forefathers did for us? The world has seen tremendous changes in the last 50-60 years. Technological innovations have come about, and though they are a blessing, they have also led to challenges.

The importance of water resources, such as ponds, for collecting rainwater, has diminished with the advent of technology and the rise of borewells. As a result, an immense amount of underground water has been depleted. It is said that since 1974, the groundwater level has been decreasing at an average rate of 20 meters per decade.

Understanding this situation, we thought about what we, as responsible citizens of the country, could do, and we began working on the construction of ponds, which is the largest medium for rainwater harvesting.

Many relatives joined us in this effort, and as a result, we have been able to dig around 325 ponds. As summer begins, we have resumed our work on water conservation. With the help of VSSM and Vimukt Foundation, our goal this year is to create a large number of ponds.

With the help of Parikh Foundation in Mumbai, we have started deepening the pond in Bodal village in Banaskantha. The village Sarpanch is extremely enthusiastic. He said, 'Let’s make the pond as big as possible. If needed, we will also contribute.'

We enjoy working in such awakened villages. We are grateful to the Parikh Foundation, respected Vikrambhai, Sonakbhai, Milanbhai, and the entire Parikh family. With their support, we have renovated many water temples.

We humbly request all of you to join us in this work, which is dedicated to serving nature."

 જલમંદિર નિર્માણનું કાર્ય અમે ઉત્તર ગુજરાત કરીએ. અત્યાર સુધી 325 તળાવો- જલમંદિરોનો જીર્ણોદ્ધાર કર્યો. 

ક્યારેક થાય આપણા દાદા, પરદાદા આપણા માટે જે કરી ગયા આપણે આવનારી પેઢી માટે આવું કશું કરીને જશું? દુનિયા આખીમાં જે ફેરફારો થયા તે પાછલા પચાસ - સાહીઠ વર્ષમાં. ટેકનોલોજીનો આવિષ્કાર થયો. એ આશિર્વાદ રૃપ પણ બની પણ ક્યાં એના લીધે જ સ્થિતિ વણસી પણ ખરી.

તળાવો જેવા વરસાદી પાણી સંગ્રહ કરવાના જળ સ્ત્રોતોની મહત્તા ટેકનોલોજી આવી બોરવેલ બન્યા એના કારણે ઘટી. ભૂગર્ભમાંથી અમાપ પાણી ઉલેચાયા. કહે છે, 1974 થી દરેક દાયકામાં ભૂગર્ભજળ 20 મીટરની એવરેજથી ઘટી રહ્યા છે.

આ સ્થિતિ અમને સમજાઈ ને દેશના જવાબદાર નાગરિક તરીકે શું કરી શકીએ એનો વિચાર આવ્યો ને અમે વરસાદી પાણીના સંગ્રહનુ સૌથી મોટુ માધ્યમ એવા તળાવોના નિર્માણનું કાર્ય શરૃ કર્યું.

અનેક સ્વજનો આ કાર્યમાં સાથે જોડાયા જેના કારણે 325 જેટલા તળાવો ખોદી શક્યા. ઉનાળો શરૃ થવાની કગાર પર છે અને અમે જળસંચયના કાર્યો પાછા આરંભ્યા. VSSM અને વિમુક્ત ફાઉન્ડેશનની મદદથી આ વર્ષે મોટી સંખ્યામાં તળાવો કરવાનો લક્ષાંક છે. 

પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશન મુંબઈની મદદથી અમે બનાસકાંઠાના બોડાલ ગામનું તળાવ ઊંડુ કરવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. ગામના સરપંચ એકદમ ઉત્સાહી. એમણે કહ્યું, શક્ય એટલું મોટુ તળાવ કરીએ. જરૃર પડે અમે ભાગીદારી પણ નોંધાવશું.

આવા જાગૃત ગામોમાં કામ કરવું ગમે. પરીખ ફાઉન્ડેશન, આદરણીય વિક્રમભાઈ, સોનકભાઈ, મીલનભાઈ અને સમગ્ર પરીખ પરિવારના આભારી છીએ. એમની મદદથી અમે ઘણા જલમંદિરોનો જીર્ણોદ્ધાર કર્યો છે..

સમગ્ર પ્રકૃતિને સાતા આપનારા આ કાર્યમાં જોડાવવા આપ સૌને નમ્ર વિનંતી..

VSSM began providing a ration kit to Balukaka through our Mavjat initiative...

Mittal Patel meets Balukaka in Lodhra

 "An extra packet of chili came with this month's ration kit. How should I send it back? It must have been someone else. Please take it when you pass by from me ..."

Every month, we provide ration to around 700 elderly families. As part of this, we also gave a kit to Balukaka, who lives in Lodhra, Gandhinagar. The shopkeeper prepared the kits, and by mistake, two packets of chilli were added to his kit. Neither the shopkeeper nor our worker Rizwanbhai was aware of this mistake. But when Balukaka opened the kit and saw the two packets, he thought it was a mistake and immediately called me to inform about it.

Balukaka has lost the use of half of his body. His wife, though she can still do some work, goes to people's houses to clean or do the dishes, and sometimes even works in the fields. But their situation is dire.

The village's Prahladbhai informed us about this family. Prahladbhai is one of our loan members and helps us with time donations for social work. We decided to provide ration to this family. For the first time, we sent Prahladbhai to deliver the kit to Balukaka's house. When they saw the ration, both of their eyes filled with tears of joy. They said, "For the past three days, we were only surviving on tea, we had nothing to eat, but now..."

Then they opened the ration kit and when they saw garlic inside, they were overjoyed. Garlic was a bit expensive at that time. They said, "We haven't had garlic for two months, but you..." They couldn't speak any further, but their emotions were evident. When we met them, there was contentment visible on their faces. They don't have a house of their own to live in and are staying in someone's shed.

When we asked if they needed anything else, they folded their hands and said, "What you give is enough. May God bless you and give you the strength to serve many others." Hearing their situation, my eyes filled with tears.

I pray that no one else has to face such a situation...

However, now they are relieved. This relief has come with the support of kind-hearted people like you. We are grateful for that. The Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation has been a tremendous help in this effort. Additionally, many other well-wishers, like Ashwinbhai Chaudhary, who help provide rations to many families, are equally crucial. If we all come together, we can satisfy the hunger of many such families.

I pray that nature always provides for the well-being of everyone."

"મરચાનું વધારાનું એક પેકટ આ વખતની રાશનની કીટ સાથે આવી ગયું છે, તે એને કેવી રીતે પાછુ મોકલાવું? બિચારા કોકનું હશે. તે તમે આવતા જતા લઈ જજોને..."

અમે દર મહિને 700 જેટલા નિરાધાર માવતરોને રાશન આપીયે. એના જ ભાગરૃપે ગાંધીનગરના લોદ્રામાં રહેતા બાલુકાકા ને પણ કીટ આપેલી. દુકાનદારે કીટ બનાવી એ વખતે ભૂલથી મરચાના બે પેકેટ એમની કીટમાં મુકાઈ ગયા. આ થયાનું દુકાનદાર ને કે અમારા કાર્યકર રીઝવાનભાઈ બેમાંથી કોઈને ખબર નહીં. પણ બાલુકાકાએ કીટ ખોલીને એમાં બે પેકેટ જોયા એટલે કોકનું મારી પાસે આવી ગયું એમ વિચારી જીવ બાળ્યો ને પાછો ફોન કરીને આ વિગત કહી.

કાકાના અડધા અંગને લકવો પડી ગયો છે. કાકી હજુ થોડું કામ કરી શકે તે લોકોના ઘરોમાં કચરા- પોતુ કરવા કે વાસણ કરવા જાય તો ક્યારેક ખેતરમાં પણ કામે જાય. પણ એમની પરિસ્થિતિ વીકટ.

ગામના પ્રહલાદભાઈએ અમને આ પરિવારની વાત કરી. પ્રહલાદભાઈ અમારા લોન ધારકને અમને સેવાકાર્યમાં સમયદાન આપે. અમે આ પરિવારને રાશન આપવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. પહેલીવાર પ્રહલાદભાઈને જ કાકાના ઘરે કીટ આપવા મોકલ્યા. ને રાશન જોઈને બેયની આંખમાં હર્ષાસુ આવી ગયા. એમણે કહ્યું. "ત્રણ દિવસથી માત્ર ચાના સહારે બેઠા હતા.ખાવા નહોતું. તે આજે..."

એ પછી એમણે રાશન કીટ ખોલી અને અંદર લસણ જોયું તો ખુબ હરખાયા. એ વખતે લસણ જરા મોંધુ હતું. એમણે કહ્યું, "બે મહિનાથી લસણ ભાળ્યું નહોતું પણ તમે...." એ કશું બોલી ન શક્યા. પણ બધુ સમજી શકાય એવું હતું. એમને જ્યારે મળ્યા ત્યારે એમના મોંઢા પર સંતોષ દેખાતો હતો. એમની પાસે રહેવા પોતાનું ઘર નથી. કોઈકની ઓસરીમાં એ રહે. 

વધારે કશું જોઈએ એવું પુછ્યું તો, બે હાથ જોડીને તમે આપો એ ઘણું છે. ભગવાન તમને ખુબ આપે ને અનેકોની સેવા કરાવે એવા આશિર્વાદ આપ્યા. પણ એમની હાલતની વાતો એમણે કરી એ સાંભળી આંખ ભરાઈ આવી. 

ભગવાન આવી દશા કોઈની ન કરની પ્રાર્થના...

જો કે હવે એમને નિરાંત છે.. આ નિરાંત આપવાનું આપ જેવા સ્વજનોના ટેકાથી થયું છે. એ માટે આભારી છીએ. ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન આ કાર્યમાં ખુબ મોટી મદદ કરે. એ સિવાય પણ અશ્વિનભાઈ ચૌધરી જેવા અનેક સ્વજનો જેઓ ઘણા મોટા પ્રમાણમાં માવતરોને રાશન આપવામાં મદદ કરે. આપ સૌ સાથે આવશો તો આવા અનેકોના જઠારાગ્નિને સંતોષવાનું આપણે  કરી શકીશું. 

કુદરત સૌના શુભમાં હંમેશા નિમિત્ત બનાવે તેવી પ્રાર્થના....

 "I was sitting in the presence of nature when suddenly a voice came, 'Do you want to save it?' There was no one in sight. I wondered, who said this? When I looked around, the voice came again, 'Do you want to save it?' Now I asked, 'Who are you?' And the answer came, 'I am Nature.' I was greatly surprised... Nature can speak? Then it said, 'You can hear, so I will tell you... I want to save it...' Now I asked, 'What do you want to save, Mother?' And Nature replied, 'I want to save this Earth from turning into a barren desert...' I asked, 'How will you save it?' And it said, 'I cannot do anything alone, but I will tell those who listen that they should do a little, and I will help them...'

There was no more to ask. I understood what I had to do...

Wherever the desert appeared, I had to spread greenery. I had to plant trees and place people to nurture them. The rest would be taken care of by Nature itself...

In 2019, we heard the voice of Nature and began planting and nurturing trees in North Gujarat. We planted trees in 240 villages, and a total of 14.5 million trees were planted, of which today 13.5 million are growing. The land where we planted trees stopped turning into a desert.

In the photos of Banaskantha, you can see the cemetery of Totana. With the help of the Vashi Parivaar Foundation, we planted trees here. The trees that were planted have grown wonderfully, as can be seen... From the Vashi Parivaar, Shweta, who must have also heard Nature's voice, helped with the planting. She came to see how the trees were growing. Seeing that the trees were growing well, she was happy.

We hope that every human being becomes sensitive enough to hear the voice of Nature and of our Earth..."

હું પ્રકૃતિના સાનિધ્યમાં બેઠી હતી ત્યાં અચાનક એક અવાજ આવ્યો, ‘બચાવવું છે?’

પડખે કોઈ માણસ નહોતો. સવાલ થયો તો આ બોલ્યું કોણ?

મે પાછુ આમ તેમ જોયું તો પાછો અવાજ આવ્યો, ‘બચાવવું છે.’

હવે મે પુછ્યું, ‘તમે કોણ છો?’

અને સામેથી જવાબ આવ્યો, ‘હું પ્રકૃતિ.’

મને ભારે આશ્ચર્ય થયું..પ્રકૃતિ વળી બોલે?

ત્યાં એણે કહ્યું, ‘તુ સાંભળે છે એટલે તને કહું છુ.. મારે બચાવવું છે..’

હવે મે પુછ્યું ‘મા તારે શું બચાવવું છે?’ ને પ્રકૃતિએ કહ્યું, ‘આ ધરતીને રણ જેવી વેરાન થતી બચાવવી છે...’

મે પુછ્યું, ‘કેવી રીતે બચાવીશ..’

તો કહે, ‘હું જાતે તો કશું ન કરી શકુ પણ મને સાંભળે એને કહીશ કે તુ થોડું કર બાકી હું મદદ કરીશ..’

વધારે હવે કશું પુછવાનું નહોતું.. મારે શું કરવાનું હતું એ સમજી..

મરુભૂમી જ્યાં દેખાય ત્યાં હરિયાળી પાથરવાની હતી. બાલ તરુઓ વાવવાના હતા ને ઉછેરવા માણસ મુકવાના હતા. બાકીનું ધ્યાન તો પ્રકૃતિ પોતે રાખવાની હતી..

અમે 2019માં પ્રકૃતિનો અવાજ સાંભળી ઉત્તર ગુજરાતમાં વૃક્ષો વાવી ઉછેરવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. 240 ગ્રામવનો અમે ઊભા કર્યા. જેમાં 14.50 લાખ વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા જેમાંથી આજે 13.50 લાખ ઉછરી રહ્યા છે. જ્યાં અમે વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા એ ધરતી રણ બનતી અટકી..

બનાસકાંઠાનું ફોટોમાં દેખાય એ ટોટાણાનું કબ્રસ્તાન. અમે વાશી પરિવાર ફાઉન્ડેશનની મદદથી અહીંયા વૃક્ષો વાવ્યા. વાવેલા વૃક્ષો કેવા સરસ ઉછર્યા એ જોઈ શકાય.. વાશી પરિવારમાંથી શ્વેતા આમ તો એમનેય પ્રકૃતિનો અવાજ સંભળાયો હશે માટે જ એમણે મદદ કરી તે એ વાવેલા વૃક્ષો જોવા આવ્યા..વાવેલા વૃક્ષો બરાબર ઉછરી રહ્યાનું જોઈ એ રાજી..

આશા રાખીએ દરેક મનુષ્ય એવો સંવેદનશીલ બને કે પ્રકૃતિનો અને આપણી આ ધરતીમાનો અવાજ એને સંભળાય....
