The Vasfoda family members with their now useless Voter ID cards

A single nomadic family from Vansfoda community resides in Gajdinpura village of Patan's Sami block. The efforts of VSSM made it possible for this family to acquire Voter ID card and Ration card in the year 2011. When it came to making the village their permanent residence  the Sarpanch would just not agree to allot a residential plot to this family. It was difficult to understand why he would oppose providing plot to a single family. We made numerous requests to him but still he did not budge. After our dialogue he stopped opposing publicly but continued to resent allotment of plot. 

During the recent general elections three members of this family went to exercise  their franchise but were taken by surprise when their names did not feature in the village voting list. How could this happen as they had previously voted during the local polls!! They informed VSSM team member Mohanbhai about the issue. After the elections Mohanbhai went on to meet the Booth level Officer (BLO), Revenue officer and the Sarpanch but nobody helped in solving the mystery. All of them  collectively  displayed their ignorance on the issue. We took this matter forward and complained to the Mamlatdar. He also spoke to the BLO but nothing was revealed. The mamlatdar asked us to make fresh applications  for the Voter ID cards promising that new cards will be issued soon. 

The question here is not about getting new cards but how can something like this happen and till how long will such resistance continue…..

પાટણ જીલ્લાના સમી તાલુકાના ગાજદિનપુરામાં એક વાંસફોડા પરિવાર રહે છે. આ પરિવારને ૨૦૧૧માં આપણે મતદારકાર્ડ અપાવવામાં નિમિત બન્યા હતાં. તે પછી એમનું રેશનકાર્ડ પણ બન્યું. પણ રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ આપવા માટે સરપંચ સહમત નહિ. સરપંચને સમજાવવાની કોશિશ પણ કરી પણ એ સહમત નહિ. ‘વાંસફોડા સમુદાયનો એક જ પરિવાર છે એના એકના ગામમાં રહેવાથી ગામને શું નુકશાન થશે એમને કાયમ આ ગામમાં વસાવવામાં મદદરૂપ થાવ એવી વિનવણી પણ કરી.’ પણ આપણી આ વાત થયા પછી એમણે જાહેરમાં આ પરિવારના વસવાટનો વિરોધ કરવાનું બંધ કર્યું પણ એમના વસવાટ માટે તો એ તૈયાર ના જ થયા. 

૨૦૧૪માં આયોજિત લોકસભાની ચૂંટણી વખતે આ પરિવારોના ત્રણ પુખ્તવયના લોકો મતદારકાર્ડ સાથે મત આપવા ગયા તો એમનું નામ મતદાર યાદીમાં હતું જ નહિ. આવું કેમ થયું અત્યાર સુધી તો એમનું નામ હતું અને એ મત પણ આપી ચૂક્યા છે! એમણે vssmના કાર્યકર મોહનભાઈને આ અંગે જાણ કરી. ચૂંટણી પછી મોહનભાઈ ગાજદિનપુરા ગયા અને BLO(બુથ લેવલ અધિકારી), તલાટી અને સરપંચને મળ્યા પણ આ ત્રણેમાંથી કોઈ આ કેમ થયું એ કેહવા તૈયાર નથી. એ કહે છે કે, ‘અમને નથી ખબર એમના નામ કેમ નીકળી ગયા!’ 

આપણે આ અંગે મામલતદાર શ્રીને રજૂઆત કરી એમણે BLO ને આ થવાનું કારણ પૂછ્યું પણ સાચું કારણ કોઈ આપવા તૈયાર નથી. મામલતદાર શ્રી એ કહ્યું, ‘એમની મતદારકાર્ડ માટે ફરીથી અરજી કરી દો. અમે કાર્ડ આપી દઈશું.’ સમગ્રપણે વિચરતા પરિવારોની સ્વકૃતિ ક્યારે થશે? એ પ્રશ્ન સતત મૂંઝવે છે.. પણ શ્રદ્ધા છે બધું સારું થશે એવી..

Junadevpur village of Vijapur block for many years now  has been a monsoon settlement for 11 families of Saraniya community.  Since they  had been coming back to the village year after year the forms for their voter ID cads were filed from this village. Until now the villagers had no issues against these families staying in the village but the moment the Panchayat got an air of the applications they opposed the move by the Saraniya families. The matter reached to the office of district Collector, Mamlatdar Shri Tank is a very sensitive and concerned officer he gave clear instructions to the Revenue officer to do the needful to process the applications of  Voter ID Cards of these families. The Voter iD cards were issued and subsequently applications were made for the Ration cards. 

VSSM team member Tohid filed applications for the families. The applications reflecting  women as head of the household were filed with the civil supplies department. On receipt of the Mamlatdar called upon Tohid and questioned him how can he fill forms showing women as household heads?? He refused to accept the applications. Tohid informed him that there is a resolution by state civil supplies department wherein it is mentioned that ration cards with women as household heads can be issued. The mamlatdar mentioned that he was not aware of any such resolution. ‘How can there be any regulation like this, how do you know when I am not aware of it. Get me a copy of the regulation,' he ordered Tohid. Only after Tohid rushed back with the copy of regulation did the mamlatdar accept the applications. 

In situations like this one is left with no choice but to wonder of ignorance and highhandedness of such officers. In today’s world when the educated class of society  who can not accept the women as a head of the family how can once accept the same from ignorant and uneducated!!!!

The applicant women who had become very anxious by now breathed a sigh of relief when their applications were accepted. 

વિજાપુર તાલુકાના જુનાદેવપુરા ગામમાં ૧૧ સરાણીયા પરિવારો રહે છે. આ પરિવારો કામ ધંધા માટે વર્ષનો ચોક્કસ સમય બહાર જાય પણ વળી પાછા આ ગામમાં જ આવીને રહે. અત્યાર સુધી આ પરિવારોના વસવાટ સામે ગામને વાંધો પણ નહોતો પહેલીવાર જયારે આ પરિવારોએ મતદારકાર્ડ માટેના ફોર્મ ભર્યા અને ગામના લોકો ખાસ કરીને પંચાયતમાં ખબર પડી ત્યારે ખૂબ વિરોધ થયો. વાત કલેકટર શ્રી પાસે પહોચી મામલતદાર શ્રી ટાંક પણ ખૂબ ભલા માણસ એમણે તલાટીને આ પરિવારોને મતદારકાર્ડ આપવાના જ છે એમ કહી કાર્ડ આપવા સ્પષ્ટ સુચના આપી.. તે પછી આ પરિવારોને કાર્ડ મળ્યા. હવે એમના રેશનકાર્ડના ફોર્મ ભરવાના થયા. 

vssmના મહેસાણા જીલ્લાના અમારા કાર્યકર તોહીદે ૧૧ પરિવારોમાંથી ૮ પરિવારના ફોર્મ ભર્યા જેમાં પરિવારના વડા તરીકે બહેનનું નામ લખ્યું અને રેશનકાર્ડ બહેનના નામે માંગ્યું. બાકીના ત્રણ પરિવારની બહેનો પાસે મતદારકાર્ડ આવ્યા નહોતા આથી એમના કાર્ડ ભાઈઓના નામે ભર્યા. જયારે આ અરજી વિજાપુર પુરવઠા શાખામાં જમા કરાવવા ગયા ત્યારે નાયબ મામલતદાર શ્રીએ તોહીદને આવી રીતે બહેનોના નામના ફોર્મ ભરીને કેમ લાવ્યા છો? એમ કહી અરજી લેવાની જ ના પાડી. તોહીદે નાયબ મામલતદાર શ્રીને કહ્યું કે, રાજ્ય સરકારના ‘અન્ન નાગરિક પુરવઠા અને ગ્રાહકોની બાબતના વિભાગ’નો ઠરાવ છે, જે અંતર્ગત બહેનના નામે રેશનકાર્ડ નીકળી શકે. પણ નાયબ મામલતદાર શ્રીને આ ખબર નહિ એમણે કહ્યું, અમને ખ્યાલ નથી ને તમને ક્યાંથી આવી ખબર પડે છે? મને ઠરાવની કોપી આપો તો જ હું અરજી લઈશ. તોહીદે સમજાવવાની કોશિશ કરી પણ એ માને શેના? તોહીદ તાબડતોડ એના ઘરે ગયો અને ઠરાવ લઇ આવ્યો એ ઠરાવ જોયા પછી સરાણીય બહેનો પાસેથી ફોર્મ લેવામાં આવ્યા. આ બધી ધમાલમાં સરાણીયા બહેનો તો ગભરાઈ જ ગયેલી. એમણે તોહીદને એક વખત માટે તો  કહી પણ દીધું કે, અમારા કાર્ડ નહિ નીકળે? તોહીદે એમને ધરપત આપી. જયારે અધિકારીએ ફોર્મ લઇ લીધા પછી આ બહેનો ખૂબ રાજી થઇ જે ફોટોમાં જોઈ શકાય છે..

૨૧મી સદીમાં સ્ત્રી પુરુષ સમોવડી થતી જાય છે. અભણ માણસો પણ સ્ત્રીના મહત્વને સમજતા થયા છે પણ આ ભણેલાને કોણ સમજાવે... કુટુંબના વડા તરીકે સ્ત્રી હોય એ કોઈ સ્વીકારી કેમ શકતું નથી???

8 families from Dafer community have been staying in Nagra village of Surendranagar’s  Wadhwan block since many years. The villagers have accepted these families as part of their village. Houses for these families were constructed from the funds mobilised during the Ramkatha discourse  by Shri. Moraribapu for the nomadic and de-notified tribes. The current issue these families face is that of livelihood. Work in the village is available till the agriculture season is in progress after that finding employment in the village or around it becomes difficult. The families have been struggling to find alternate sources of employment and Sajanben has set the ball rolling. 

Sajanben wished to set up a small kiosk to sell provisions,  next to her home. She requested VSSM to lend her Rs. 10,000 as a start-up fund. She bought an old kiosk from a fellow villager and some goods to trade from the loan given by VSSM. It has been a month since she initiated the shop and business has been good, she is able to make a profit of Rs. 130-150 daily, she has also repaid Rs. 700 from the money she has borrowed from VSSM. Looking at her success other Dafer men have also requested funds to begin work in area of their interest. VSSM plans to support these requests with as and when funds are available. 

Dafers are considered to be tribe of looters and thieves. The police still views them as criminals where as the villagers always trust them to be the best guards to protect their farm and village boundaries. They trust no other community with this job. But when it comes to making room for them to allow permanent the same villagers shy away!!! We have been struggling to construct a settlement for the Dafers in Gujarat but have still haven’t been able to realise this desire!  Wishful thinking, is it???

સુરેન્દ્રનગર જીલ્લાના વઢવાણ તાલુકાના નગરા ગામમાં ડફેર સમુદાયના ૮ પરિવારો વર્ષોથી રહે છે આ પરિવારોના વસવાટ સામે ગ્રામજનોને કોઈ આપત્તિ નથી. પૂજય મોરારીબાપુએ વિચરતી જાતિ માટે રામકથા કરી હતી એ વખતે આ સમુદાયના પુનરુત્થાન માટે એકત્રિત થયેલા અનુદાનમાંથી આ પરિવારોના ઘરો બંધાયાં છે. હવે પ્રશ્ન રોજગારીનો છે. ગામમાં ખેત મજૂરી ચાલે ત્યાં સુધી આ પરિવારોને કામ મળે..પણ એવો પણ કેટલોક સમય છે જેમાં એમને કામ વગર બેસવું પડે. હવે તેમને નવા વ્યવસાય શોધી એમાં જોડાવું છે. જેની શરૂઆત સજનબેનથી કરી છે.

સજનબેન ડફેરે તેમના વસવાટની નજીક જ એક દુકાન શરુ કરવાની ઈચ્છા વ્યક્ત કરી અને એ માટે એમણે આપણી પાસે રૂ. ૧૦,૦૦૦ની લોનની માંગણી કરી. એમની કામ કરવાની ધગશ જોતા આપણે એમને લોન આપી જેમાંથી એમણે ફોટોમાં દેખાય છે એ જૂની દુકાન ગામના જ કોઈ ભાઈ પાસેથી ખરીદી અને થોડા ઘણા પૈસાનો સમાન લાવ્યા. જે ફોટોમાં જોઈ શકાય છે. એમની દુકાન શરુ કરે એક મહિનો થયો. એ રોજના રૂ.૧૩૦ થી રૂ.૧૫૦ કમાઈ લે છે. એમણે હમણાં સંસ્થા પાસેથી લીધેલી લોનનો પહેલો રૂ.૭૦૦ નો હપ્તો પણ જમા કરાવ્યો. સજનબેનને જોઇને બીજા કેટલાક ડફેરભાઈઓએ પણ પોતાને અનુકુળ પડે એવા વ્યવસાય માટે લોનની માંગણી કરી છે. આ સંદર્ભે આપણને જેમ જેમ અનુદાન મળતું જશે એમ એમ આપણે વિચરતા સમુદાયને મદદરૂપ થયા કરીશું. 

મૂળ તો ડફેર સમુદાયની છાપ ગુનેગાર તરીકેની.. પછી ભલેને એ મહેનત કરીને જિંદગી કેમ ના જીવતા હોય.. પોલીસ તો એમને ગુનેગાર ગણે પણ સમાજ પણ એમને એ નજરે જ જુએ.. વળી આ બધામાં વિરોધાભાસ તો ત્યારે લાગે કે, ગુનેગાર ગણવામાં – માનવામાં આવતી આ જાતિ ઉપર સીમરખોપા માટે ગ્રામજનો સૌથી વધારે ભરોશો મુકે અને એ માટે એમને ગમે ત્યાંથી શોધી લાવે. પણ પોતાના ગામમાં કાયમી વસવાટ માટેની વાત આવે ત્યારે આજ ગ્રામજનો ચોખ્ખી ના પાડે. ગુજરાતમાં ડફેર પરિવારોની એક વસાહત બને એ માટે અમે કેટલાય વખતથી કોશિશ કરી રહ્યા છીએ પણ હજુ એમાં સફળ થયા નથી. આ પરિવારોને હવે સ્થાઈ થવું છે પણ કોણ જાણે હજુ કેટલા વર્ષો લાગશે.

Wonder why do authorities fear allotting Antyoday ration cards.

21 nomadic families living in Khanodar, Vdiya, Vasma, Paldi and Diyodar of Banaskatha acquired Voter ID cards as a result of our efforts, following this on 18/9/2013 we made applications for antyoday ration cards for these families. But there were many ifs and buts by the concerned authorities when it came to  process the applications for  antyoday cards of  these families.  The mamlatdar refused to give them antyoday cards and offered to give them APL-1 cards. The VSSM team members refused to accept any other cards. The authorities also became confused as it is mandatory to sanction the applications for Ration Cards with in 45 days. Many from these 21 families belong to   bahuroopi and Bharthari communities. These communities are so poor that they sustain themselves on begging. They have no other sources of income. Such families need food security, which is possible only with an antyoday card. In such situations of local level authoritarian high headedness   we are left with no options but to complain to the senior authorities. we wrote to the Chief Minister, district Collector,  civil supplies authority, deputy collector. When orders were received from higher authorities the mamlatdar agreed to sanction antyoday cards. But even after the orders the Mamlatdar kept delaying the matter. The Deputy Collector Shri. R. M. Khant who is a very sensitive officer was briefed about the matter, he made a personal visit to the settlement to see the living conditions of these families for himself. Immediate orders were given to sanction antyoday cards to these families. 

On 13th August 2014, 18 of these families received Antyoday ration cards however 2 Devipujak families received APL cards instead of antyoday cards, reason according to the Mamlatdar was, Devipujak community does not fall into nomadic category. This is not a correct interpretation but still that is what the Mamlatdar thinks.  Deputy Mamlatdar Shri Gohil too was of the opinion  that these families should be given Antyoday cards. We will continue to pursue the matter.

Deputy Collector Shri Khant expressed to go to the settlement and issue  the ration cards himself, his visit will bring the authorities of Diyodar to the settlement which might help in highlighting the situation of these families in particular and the communities in general. The thought is very noble but the plight of the nomads in not unknown to the concerned officials and yet we face the same resistance from the authorities in almost all the cases. Whenever the applications for BPL or Antyoday cards are made they are faced with immense  resistance.  We wonder do these officers fear losing their jobs if they issue these cards????

ગુજરાતીમાં અનુવાદ

બનાસકાંઠાના દિયોદર તાલુકાના ખાણોદર, વડીયા, વાસમ, પાલડી અને દિયોદરમાં રહેતા વિચરતી જાતિના ૨૧ પરિવારોને vssmની મદદથી મતદારકાર્ડ મળ્યા તે પછી એમને રેશનકાર્ડ મળે એ માટે તા.૧૮/૦૯/૨૦૧૩ ના રોજ અરજી કરી. ખૂબ દરિદ્ર સ્થિતિમાં રહેતા આ પરિવારોને અંત્યોદય રેશનકાર્ડ મળે એ માટેની vssmએ રજૂઆત કરી. પણ અંત્યોદય રેશનકાર્ડ અપાય કે કેમ વગેરે પ્રશ્નો સ્થાનિક અધિકારીઓ એમાં પણ ખાસ કરીને મામલતદાર શ્રીને થયા કરે. એમણે આપણને આ પરિવારોને APL-૧ રેશનકાર્ડ આપીશું એમ કહ્યું. આપણા કાર્યકર નારણે APL રેશનકાર્ડ આપવા હોય તો કાર્ડ લેવા જ નથી એમ સ્પસ્ટ કહી દીધું. અધિકારી મૂંઝાય રેશનકાર્ડ માટેની અરજીનો નિકાલ ૪૫ દિવસમાં થવો જોઈએ પણ અહી તો અરજદારોએ કાર્ડ લેવાની જ ના પાડી! 

આ ૨૧ પરિવારમાં બહુરૂપી અને ભરથરી કુટુંબો પણ ખરા. એ લોકો તો ભીખ જ માંગે તોય એમની અન્નસુરક્ષા સંદર્ભે વિચારવાનું નહિ? આ બાબતે મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી, કલેકટર શ્રી, જીલ્લા પુરવઠા અધિકારી અને પ્રાંત કલેકટર શ્રીને લખ્યું. છેવટે ઉપરથી સુચના આવી એટલે મામલતદાર શ્રી એ આ પરિવારોને કાર્ડ આપવાની તૈયારી દર્શાવી. પણ એમાંય ઠીલાશ. પ્રાંત કલેકટર શ્રી આર.એમ.ખાંટ ખુબ સંવેદનશીલ અધિકારી એમની પાસે રજૂઆત કરી અને એમણે આ પરિવારોની રૂબરૂ મુલાકાત લીધી અને અંત્યોદય કાર્ડ આપવાની એમણે સુચના આપી. 

તા.૧૩/૦૮/૧૪ ના રોજ ૨૧ માંથી ૧૯ પરિવારોને અંત્યોદય કાર્ડ આપ્યા જયારે ૩ દેવીપૂજક પરિવારને APL-૧ કાર્ડ આપ્યા. ૩ APL કેમ એવું મામલતદાર શ્રીને પૂછ્યું તો એમને જવાબ આપ્યો કે, આ લોકો વિચરતી- વિમુક્ત જાતિના નથી! અરે જે સ્થિતિમાં રહે છે એ તો જુઓ પણ..(દેવીપૂજકનો સમાવેશ વિમુક્ત જાતિમાં થાય જ છે પણ..) નાયબ મામલતદાર શ્રી ગોહિલ પણ ખુબ સંવેદનશીલ એમણે રૂબરૂ મુલાકાત લીધી અને હકારાત્મક અભિપ્રાય આપ્યો, તેમ છતાં..  ખેર આપણું કામ પ્રયત્ન કરવાનું છે અને ૩ પરિવારો માટે આપણે પ્રયત્ન કરીશું...

પ્રાંત કલેકટર શ્રી ખાંટ સાહેબે આ પરિવારો જ્યાં રહે છે ત્યાં જઈને રેશનકાર્ડ આપવાની ઈચ્છા દર્શાવી. એમની ઇચ્છા હતી દીયોદરનું વહીવટી તંત્ર વસાહતમાં આવે અને આ પરિવારોની સ્થિતિ જુએ.. એમણે કહ્યું, ‘આ પરિવારોની સ્થિતિ નજરે જુએ તો કદાચ અધિકારીમાં બેસેલો માણસ જાગૃત થઇ જાય...’ અમે પણ ઈચ્છીએ કે આવું જ થાય.. પણ આ બધામાં એક પ્રશ્ન વારંવાર થાય છે કે, BPL કે અંત્યોદય રેશનકાર્ડ આપતા અધિકારીને ડર કેમ લાગે છે? જાણે BPL કાર્ડ આપી દેવાશે તો એમને નોકરીમાંથી કોઈ કાઢી મુકવાનું હોય! ખાંટ સાહેબ જેવા અધિકારી દરેક જગ્યા પર હોય તો વંચિતોના કોઈ પ્રશ્નો પડતર રહે જ નહિ...

આ પરિવારોને રેશનકાર્ડ આપવામાં નિમિત બનનાર પ્રાંત કલેકટર શ્રી ખાંટ સાહેબ, મામલતદાર શ્રી, નાયબ મામલતદાર શ્રી ગોહિલનો આ તબક્કે આભાર વ્યક્ત કરીએ છીએ.

Gomti’s desire to earn and live with dignity fulfilled….

Gomti is the youngest of the three daughters of Virabhai Gadaliya. Having been  born in Gadaliya community meant she had an inherent skill of making and selling iron  tools and vessels. Gomti got married and widowed at a very young age. Later she went on to marry again but was soon divorced because of disputes with her husband. After the divorce she came back to stay with her parents. Her father worked as labour in  a business that sold iron tools. The money he earned was just enough to feed the family. But, two months back Virabhai lost his battle against cancer.  She is left all alone and wishes to work and earn rather than beg and survive. She wished to make living from the skill she has inherited.  But to start up an own venture required funds and not just the skills!!!  The difficult question she faced was in absence of required documents which bank would support her.  Hence, she  approached VSSM to help her set up a unit for selling iron vessels and tools. VSSM provided her with a loan of Rs. 10,000 with which she has purchased material and sells it at the bazaar in Diyodar. The earning is enough to keep her happy.  VSSM feels privileged to be able to support such strong willed women and enable them to lead their life with head held up high…

ગોમતીનો જન્મ ગાડલિયા પરિવારમાં થયો હતો. ગાડલિયા સમુદાયમાં જન્મ્યા હોવાના કારણે લોખંડના ઓજારો-વાસણો બનાવવાની અને વેચવાની આવડત પહેલાંથી જ. પણ આ વ્યવસાય માટે શરૂઆતમાં સામાન લાવવા માટે જે રોકાણ કરવું પડે એની સગવડ નહી એટલે કંઈ કરી શકે નહીં. દિયોદરમાં રહેતા વીરાભાઈ ગાડલિયાની ત્રણ દીકરીઓમાં ગોમતી સૌથી નાની. નાની ઉંમરે ગોમતીના લગ્ન થયા પણ લગ્નના થોડાક જ સમયમાં એ વિધવા થઇ. ગોમતીના બીજે લગ્ન થયા પણ ત્યાં એને ફાવ્યું નહિ એણે છૂટાછેડા લીધા અને પિતા સાથે રહેવા લાગી. પિતા લોખંડમાંથી ઓજારો બનાવનાર દુકાનમાં મજૂરી કરે અને એમની આવકમાંથી ઘર ચાલે પણ બે મહિના પહેલા જ ગોમતીના પિતાનું કેન્સરમાં મૃત્યુ થયું. ગોમતી હવે એકલી છે. ભીખ માંગવા કરતા માનભેર કમાવવાની ઝંખના હતી પણ કેવી રીતે કમાવવું એ સમજાતું નહોતું. બાપીકો વ્યવસાય લોખંડમાંથી ઓજારો બનાવવાનું અને વેચવાનું આવડે એવો વિશ્વાસ પણ કોઈ દિવસ એ કામ કરેલું નહિ. એણે લોખંડના વાસણો ખરીદી લાવીને વેચવાનું નક્કી કર્યું પણ એ માટે મુડી તો જોઈયે ને? પોતાની ઓળખના પૂરતા આધારો નહિ આમાં કઈ બેંક એને ધિરાણ આપે? એણે vssm ને આ માટે મદદરૂપ થવા કહ્યું. આપણે એને રૂ.૧૦,૦૦૦ ની લોન આપી. એણે આ રકમમાંથી વાસણો ખરીદ્યા છે અને દિયોદરના બજારમાં એ વેચવા બેસે છે. એ સારું કમાઈ રહી છે અને ખુશ છે.   

માનભેર કમાવવાની એની ઝંખના vssm થકી પૂરી થઇ જેનો આનંદ ગોમતીના ચહેરા પર જોઈ શકાય છે..

The Oad families with their proud possessions- Voter ID cards

Panpur patiya in Himmatnagar has been a settlement area for 24 muslim Oad families for last 15 years. These families are engaged in their traditional occupation i.e. mud excavation. The families do needto migrate in search of work but  Panpur Patiya is where they come back every time especially during monsoons. Inspite of staying in the area for such a long time these families did not have the basic citizenry documents. VSSM applied for their voter ID cards but the Mamlatdar refused to process the applications citing they did not possess any support documents so he cannot  allot voter cards. Just near the settlement of these Oad families is Savgadh village,  the sarpanch of this village knew these families and the hitch they faced in acquiring the voter ID cards hence he issued reference letter for each family but the mamlatdar refused to acknowledge the letters too. Since last few years following a ruling by the election commission the homeless families do not  require documents to prove their identity but a verification to be carried out by the concerned authorities by visiting the place they sleep at.  We also briefed the mamlatdar about this particular ruling but he chose to ignore that too,  leaving us with no choice but to complain about it to the district collector. 

The Sabarkatha district collector Shri. Banchanidhi Pani is a concerned and sensitive officer, he intervened in the matter and ordered the authorities to issue cards to the 48 adults in these 24  families. 

We are thankful to CEO Ms. Anita Karwal who has tremendously helped VSSM in acquiring voters ID cards for the nomadic families and Shri. Banchanidhi Pani who immediately looked into the matter and ensured these Oad families acquire their voter cards.

હિંમતનગરમાં પાણપુર પાટિયા પાસે ૨૪ મુસ્લિમ ઓડ પરિવારો છેલ્લા ૧૫ વર્ષથી રહે છે. હા કામ ધંધા માટે બહાર જાય તો પણ વર્ષના ચોક્કસ સમય દરમિયાન અહી જ આવીને રહે. આ પરિવારો એમનો બાપીકો વ્યવસાય માટી ખોદકામનો કરે. વર્ષોથી આ વિસ્તારમાં રહેવા છતાં એમની પાસે પોતાની ઓળખના કોઈ આધારો નહિ. આપણે એમના મતદારકાર્ડ માટે અરજી કરી. પણ મામલતદારશ્રી એ આ પરિવારો પાસે પુરાવા નથી એટલે કાર્ડ આપી શકાય નહિ એમ કહી કાર્ડ આપવાની ના પાડી. આ પરિવારો જ્યાં રહે છે એની બાજુનું ગામ સવગઢના સરપંચ આ પરિવારોને ઓળખે એમને પુરાવા નથી એટલે આ પરિવારોને કાર્ડ મળતા નથી એ અંગે ખ્યાલ આવ્યો. એમણે પંચાયતના લેટરપેડ પર આ પરિવારોને ઓળખતા હોવાનું લખીને આપ્યું પણ મામલતદાર આને પુરાવો ગણવા તૈયાર નહિ. આમ તો પુરાવાની જરૂર પણ નથી. મતદારકાર્ડ મેળવવાની જોગવાઈ પ્રમાણે કોઈ પણ વ્યકિત મતદારકાર્ડ માટે અરજી કરે અને પુરાવા નથી તો BLO અરજી કરનાર વ્યક્તિએ અરજીમાં લખેલા સરનામે જઈને તપાસ કરી શકે અને એ વ્યકિત એને વારંવારની તપાસમાં ત્યાં જ હાજર મળે તો કાર્ડ આપવાની પ્રક્રિયા કરી શકે. આપણે આ બાબત મામલતદાર શ્રીને સમજાવી પણ એ સમજવા તૈયાર નહિ. આખરે આપણી પાસે કલેકટર શ્રીને અપીલ કરવા સિવાય બીજો કોઈ ઉપાય ના રહ્યો.

સાબરકાંઠા કલેકટરશ્રી બંછાનિધિ પાની ખૂબ ભલા અને સંવેદનશીલ અધિકારી. એમની પાસે અપીલમાં આ વિગતો ગઈ એમણે તુરત જ આ પરિવારોને મતદાર કાર્ડ આપવાનો આદેશ કર્યો અને ૪૮ પુખ્તવયના લોકોને મતદારકાર્ડ મળી ગયા.

આ તબક્કે આ પરિવારો વતી અમે આદરણીય શ્રી અનિતાબેન કરવાલ જેઓ વિચરતી જાતિના લોકોને મતદારકાર્ડ મળે એ માટે સતત મદદરૂપ થાય છે એમનો તથા આદરણીય શ્રી બંછાનિધિ પાનીનો આભાર વ્યક્ત કરીએ છીએ. એમના સહયોગ વગર ઓડ પરિવારોને મતદારકાર્ડ મળવા મુશ્કેલ હતા.

Ishwarbhai Raval and Maheshbahi Raval, extremely hardworking and dedicated duo, core members of VSSM team at the grassroots,  have been the backbone of the entire effort of building a dream - the brand new settlement at Deesa.  It would not be an exaggeration if we said  that the settlement at Deesa wold not have been possible without them.  For any organisation its team is a pillar of strength, working on the issues of Nomadic tribes,  with the nomadic tribes requires nerves of steel and we are proud to have an extremely committed team. At the 2nd August event we took this opportunity of the sheer  hard work and commitment of Ishwarbhai and Maheshbhai to the cause. Shir Madhavbhai Ramanuj, President -VSSM, Shri Pardipbhai and Shri. Rashminbhai  our well wishers, supporters and guiding force honoured the duo .

The Deesa settlement has been christened L. P. Savani Nagar after the name of Vallabhbhai’s mother Lakshmiben. Respected Shri. Vallabhbhai Savani has been the chief donor for the  Deesa settlement.

ડીસાની વસાહત બાંધવાનું જેમના વગર શક્ય નહોતું એવા vssm ના સંનિષ્ઠ કાર્યકર શ્રી ઈશ્વરભાઈ રાવળ અને મહેશભાઈ રાવળનું vssmના પ્રમુખ શ્રી માધવ રામાનુજ અને vssm ના કામોમાં સતત મદદરૂપ થતા ફ્રેન્ડસ ઓફ vssmના અમારા શુભેચ્છક, અમારા વહાલા સ્વજન, વડીલ એવા આદરણીય શ્રી પ્રદીપભાઈ શાહ અને શ્રી રશ્મીનભાઈ સંઘવીના હસ્તે સન્માન કરવામાં આવ્યું.

vssmના કાર્યકરો સંસ્થાનો પાયો છે અમારા આ મજબૂત પાયા મજબૂત ઈરાદાથી વિચરતી જાતિનું કામ કરી રહ્યા છે. વળી મોટાભાગના કાર્યકર પોતે વિચરતી જાતિના છે ભલે ભણ્યા ઓછું છે પણ એમની કામ કરવાની લાગણી અને તત્પરતા ખુબ છે સંસ્થા સાથે આવા કાર્યકરો છે એનો અમને ગર્વ છે અને આવા કાર્યકરોને સન્માનતા સંસ્થા આનંદ સાથે ગૌરવની લાગણી અનુભવે છે..

Towards the end a new beginning….

No words can  describe the happiness brimming in their hearts, the joy beaming out on their faces, the cheer bursting in their laughter, their dance, the celebration… it was all so captivating. The day was on 2nd August when 56 nomadic families in Deesa celebrated the joy of owning a house. On 2nd August a house warming ceremony was performed and attended by community members, individuals who made the dream of owning a house for these families possible the well-wishers of VSSM, local authorities and others. 

It was also an occasion of many firsts. It was for the first time in generations that these families will go on to own and stay in a pucca house of their own, till now a home for them was a tarpaulin shade under the tree or in one spaces. It was the first time they were performing some religious rites. They were all so charged up and enthusiastic about the entire ceremony that a lot of them dressed up in new clothes and were looking their best. So drastic was the change in their appearance that even VSSM team members found difficult to recognise many of these family members  at the first glance. 

Since the families were performing the ‘yagna’ for the first time it was arranged to have individuals from Gayatri Parivar sit next to the families and explain  the meaning and importance of the ceremony they were performing. 

One of the couples  to go on and stay in the brand new homes are Santokba and Chandudada,  'not in our wildest dreams had we dreamt of owning and staying in our own house, nobody in our 71 generations has lived in a house like this. We are towards the end of our lives, but it is a pleasure to experience this new beginning,’ shares a beaming Chadukaka. We were apprehensive if it would be possible for this couple to sit through the 2 hour long  ceremony but we guess the excitement (as evident on their faces in the picture below) was so much that 2 hours weren’t difficult at all. 

We at VSSM are grateful to have the honour of being instrumental in bringing such joy and cheer in the lives of these families.

જીવનના અંતિમ પડાવમાં જેની ઝંખના હતી(ઘર) એ પૂરી થઇ..

૫૬ વિચરતા પરિવારોની વહાલપની વસાહત ડીસામાં નિર્માણ પામી. તા.૨ ઓગસ્ટ ૨૦૧૪ના રોજ આ પરિવારોએ પોતાના ઘરમાં ગાયત્રી વૈદિક હવનની પરંપરાથી ગૃહપ્રવેશ કર્યો. પહેલીવાર આ પ્રકારની વિધિમાં બેઠેલા વિચરતા સ્વજનોને શરૂઆતમાં જમણા હાથમાં જળ લેવાનું કહેવામાં આવ્યું, તો જમણો હાથ આગળ કરતા પણ વાર લાગી. હવનમાં બેઠેલા દરેક પાંચ પરિવારો સાથે ગાયત્રી પરિવારના બે કે ત્રણ પરિજન બેઠેલા, જે આ પરિવારોને વિધિ સમજાવતા.. ક્યારેક પરિજનને હાથ પકડીને શું કરવાનું છે એ પણ સમજાવવું પડતું. પણ એનો પણ આ પરિવારોને આનંદ હતો. 

જેમનો ગૃહપ્રવેશ થવાનો હતો એ પરિવારોમાંના મોટાભાગના સવારથી નવા કપડાં પહેરીને તૈયાર થઇ ગયેલા. કેટલાકે તો માથાના વાળને રંગ્યા (કાળો કલર) હતા. અમારા સ્વજન શ્રી પ્રજ્ઞેશભાઈ દેસાઈએ ફોન પર કહ્યું, ‘બેન આ તો કોઈ ઓળખાતા નથી’. આમ તો એમના ઘરે પ્રસંગ એટલે હર્ષ ઉલ્લાસ તો હોય જ. પણ એમના મુખ પરનો આ આનંદ નિહાળવાનો લાહવો મળ્યો એની ધન્યતા અનુભવીએ છીએ. વસાહતમાં આવનાર તમામ મહેમાનોનું ઢોલ-શરણાઈ સાથે સ્વાગત કર્યું અને સૌ ખૂબ નાચ્યા. એમાં ૭૦ વર્ષના સંતોકબા અને ૭૫ વર્ષના ચંદુદાદા પણ નાચ્યા, સૌએ vssmના કાર્યકરોના ઓવારણા લીધા અને ખુબ આશીર્વાદ આપ્યા. 

અમારું પોતાનું અને એ પણ પાકું ઘર હોય? એવી સતત શંકા સેવતા સંતોકબા અને ચંદુદાદાને ગૃહપ્રવેશ(હવન) વિધિમાં સળંગ બે કલાક બેસવાનું હતું. એ બેસી શકશે કે કેમ એની અમને શંકા હતી પણ એ ખુબ પ્રસન્ન ચિતે બેઠા જે ફોટોમાં જોઈ શકાય છે... પોતાની ૭૧ પેઢીમાં એ પહેલા છે જે પોતાના પાકા ઘરમાં રેહવા જશે. જીવનના અંતિમ પડાવમાં જેની ઝંખના હતી(ઘર) એ પૂરી થઇ છે જેનો સંતોષ એમના ચેહરા પર જોઈ શકાય છે..  

ગાયત્રી શક્તિપીઠ ડીસા અને આદરણીય શ્રી પ્રજ્ઞેશભાઈ દેસાઈ, શ્રી ચૌહાણ સાહેબ જેમણે આ અદભુત ક્ષણને પવિત્ર અને યાદગાર ઘડી બનાવી એ માટે એમના આભારી છીએ..

With the money I donated earlier you did everything that was possible, if I make more suggestions you will need some more money.....

Last year we had been invited to  talk about VSSM at a gathering organised by respected Shri. Keshubhai Goti in Surat.  At the gathering we had an opportunity to meet the much revered Shri. Vallabhbhai Savani - Bapuji as he is lovingly called. During the  gathering  he patiently heard us, the work we did, the communities we worked for and later  offered to support VSSM. No preconditions, no expectations but absolute faith in us and the work we do that too on the very first meeting. He  extended his support in construction of homes at the settlement in Deesa. 

A few days before the house warming function scheduled on 2nd August,  Bapuji paid a visit to the newly constructed settlement. ‘How about constructing a toilet or a small wash in each of the homes for the women in these households,’ he expressed his observation.  The land that has been allotted to these families is enough to make a one room and kitchen unit for each of the family, there was no space left for a bathroom-toilet hence it was decided to make common/public bathrooms and toilets in this settlement. But Bapuji felt that it would be better to have attached washrooms. We welcomed the suggestion and initiated work in the suggested direction. On 2nd August, the day of the house warming function Bapuji presented us a cheque of Rs. 5 lacs saying ‘you did everything possible from the funds I had donated earlier but if I make some  new suggestions I should also provide funds to execute those suggestions and therefore more funds !!’ We were deeply humbled by the kindness and trust Bapuji  put in us. On behalf of all the 56 families of Deesa settlement we are extremely grateful to him for his thoughtfulness and support. 

On 3rd August he called up again …’I have spent a restless night, entire night I have been thinking of the kids in the settlement, their education, health….plan some initiatives for them and I would love to be part of it!!’  Bapuji -  a person who is an extremely unassuming and simple to the core.  It is difficult to even imagine that such a human being can be so giving. We feel honoured to have him amidst  us as a guiding force in our endeavours for the nomads of Gujarat….

મેં આપેલા પૈસામાંથી તો આપે શક્ય આયોજન કર્યું અને હું બીજું સૂચવું તો નાણાં તો જોઈએ ને?

આદરણીય શ્રી કેશુભાઈ ગોટીએ સુરતમાં એક સમારોહમાંનું આયોજન કરેલું. જેમાં જવાનું થયેલું અને ત્યાં વિચરતી જાતિ સાથેના કામો અંગે વાત કરવાનો મોકો મળ્યો. આ સમારોહમાં સુરતના શ્રેષ્ઠી આદરણીય શ્રી વલ્લભભાઈ સવાણી(બાપુજી) પણ હતા. બધી વિગતો સાંભળી એમણે વિચરતી જાતિની વસાહતના બાંધકામમાં  મદદરૂપ થવાનું કહ્યું. કોઈ પણ શરત નહિ અને એવી કોઈ લાંબી ઓળખાણ નહિ છતાં એમણે અમારામાં શ્રધ્ધા દાખવી અને આ પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધકામમાં પ્રત્યેક પરિવારને રૂ.૪૫,૦૦૦ ની મદદ કરી. 

આદરણીય બાપુજી લોકાર્પણ કાર્યક્રમ પહેલાં વસાહતની મુલાકાતે ગયા અને એમણે બહેનો માટે ઘરમાં જ બાથરૂમ અથવા ચોકડી બનાવવા કહ્યું. મૂળ તો આ પરિવારોને ફળવાયેલા પ્લોટ નાના છે એટલે અમે કોમન બાથરૂમ અને ટોયલેટ બાંધવાનું આ વસાહત પુરતું નક્કી કરેલું. પણ બાપુજીએ કહ્યું, આ પરિવારોના ઘરમાં બાથરૂમ અથવા ચોકડીનું આયોજન કરો તો સારું. અમે હા પાડી અને એ દિશામાં કામ શરુ કર્યું. પણ બાપુજી વસાહતની મુલાકાત લઈને ગયા પછી સતત વિચરતા રહ્યા અને તા.૨ ઓગસ્ટ ૨૦૧૪ ના રોજ વસાહતના લોકાર્પણ કાર્યક્રમમાં આવ્યા ત્યારે એ નીમીતનો રૂ.૫,૦૦,૦૦૦ નો ચેક આપણને આપ્યો. એમણે કહ્યું, મેં આપેલા પૈસામાંથી તો આપે શક્ય આયોજન કર્યું અને હું બીજું સૂચવું તો નાણાં તો જોઈએ ને? આ ઉદારતા અને આ દરિયાદિલી માટે ૫૬ પરિવારો અને સંસ્થા વતી આદરણીય બાપુજીનો આભાર માનીએ છીએ. 

તા.૨ ઓગસ્ટ ૨૦૧૪નો કાર્યક્રમ પત્યા પછીના દિવસે બાપુજીનો ફોન આવ્યો. એમણે કહ્યું, ‘આખી રાત અજંપામાં ગઈ. આ પરિવારના બાળકોના શિક્ષણ માટે અને એમના આરોગ્ય બાબતમાં આપણે શું કરી શકીએ એ અંગે વિચારો હું એમાં નિમિત બનીશ.’ ખુબ સાદાઈ કોઈને માનવામાં પણ ના આવે કે, આવડી મોટી દિલદારી એ દાખવી શકે એવા બાપુજી આ પ્રસંગમાં આવ્યા અને અમને સૌને આશીર્વાદ પાઠવ્યા એ માટે એમના આભારી છીએ..

This is the case of ‘to settle or not to settle!!!

The instance narrated here is one of the many cases which reflects the bureaucratic web and unwillingness of authorities to do what is right for the marginalised nomadic communities. To understand this story better one needs to understand the wandering patterns of the nomads.  What are ‘monsoon settlement’ of the nomadic families. Since ages  monsoon is the season when most of the nomadic communities stop wandering and become stationed for a 4 months and this pattern of wandering is followed till date.

32 Devipujak families have been living right behind the Mamlatdar’s office in Vijapur town of Mehsana district. The place has been their monsoon settlement for years.  One fine night they were made to evict the place by the town authorities. Later, on the place came up the mamlatdar’s office. As it is illegal to force families vacate their homes in  middle of the night  we filed a case  against the authorities. In 2010 some of these families were allotted residential land behind the newly constructed Mamlatdar’s  office. At that time 16 of these 32 families did not have any proofs of residing in Vijapur therefore they were asked to make applications only after acquired the needed documents. Subsequently the process of procuring the necessary documents was initiated. 

In the meantime there was a resolution by the Government of Gujarat to allot land to the nomadic families who desired to settle down. VSSM played a pivotal  in getting this resolution amended. On the basis of this amendment the 16 families from nomadic communities were allotted plots as well.  After we acquired the necessary documents like  ration card, voter ID card, income and caste certificates fresh applications were made for the remaining 12 families, but the district collector rejected the applications. The reason citied by the collector was : the resolution on the basis of which some families have been allotted residential plots is only valid for those nomadic families who lead a nomadic life, where these 12 Devipujak families are leading a settled life hence they cannot be allotted plots. On the contrary he issued an order to evict these families who according to him have encroached upon government land!!!!

How absurd is such interpretation of a government notification by a senior bureaucrat. On one hand the families are required to furnish documents that require families to settle down. These communities who wander have no proof of belonging to a particular village, hence they cannot get plot. To get such valid documents they need to settle (under a tarpaulin) for some time and if they settle they don’t get a plot since they have settled ….. how weird is such an interpretation.

There is another ruling by the court which does not allow any forceful eviction of people during the months of monsoon. So there was another breach of law in this case. 

On 28th July we met the district collector and gave our arguments and the laws that have been broken by the authorities themselves in this case to which he had no answers. He just told us that he will look into the matter……….

મહેસાણા જીલ્લાના વિજાપુરમાં મામલતદાર કચેરીની પાછળ ૩૨ દેવીપૂજક પરિવારો રહે છે. આ પરિવારો જે જગ્યા પર ચોમાસું પસાર કરતા તે જગ્યા સરકારે ખાલી કરાવી અને ત્યાં મામલતદાર કચેરી બનાવી. આ પરિવારોને અડધી રાતે જે રીતે જગ્યા ખાલી કરવી હતી તે યોગ્ય નહોતું એટલે આપણે કોર્ટમાં કેસ કર્યો.(વર્ષ ૨૦૧૦માં) કોર્ટના આદેશ પ્રમાણે આ પરિવારોને મામલતદાર કચેરી પાછળ કાયમી રહેણાંક અર્થે જગ્યા ફળવાઈ. પણ એ વખતે ૧૬ પરિવારો પાસે વિજાપુરમાં વસતા હોવાના આધારો હતા એટલે એમને પ્લોટ ફળવાયા અને બાકીના ૧૨ પરિવારો જેમની પાસે ત્યાં રેહતા હોવાના આધારો નહોતા એમને ડોક્યુમેન્ટ આવે પછી અરજી કરવા કહેવામાં આવ્યું. અમે ૧૨ પરિવારના ડોક્યુમેન્ટ માટે પ્રયત્ન શરુ કર્યા. 

રાજ્ય સરકારે વિચરતી જાતિમાંના જેઓ સ્થાઈ થવા ઈચ્છે છે તેમને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફાળવવાનો ઠરાવ કર્યો છે. આ ઠરાવમાં સુધારા કરાવવામાં vssmની ભૂમિકા ખૂબ મહત્વની રહી. આ ઠરાવ પ્રમાણે જ ૧૬ પરિવારોને પ્લોટ ફળવાયા હતા. બાકીના ૧૨ પરિવારોના ડોક્યુમેન્ટ જેવા કે મતદારકાર્ડ, રેશનકાર્ડ, આવક અને જાતિના દાખલા વગેરે ભેગું કરીને અમે ફરી એમની દરખાસ્ત કરી, તો કલેકટરશ્રીએ આ દરખાસ્ત ના મંજૂર કરી. એમણે ના મંજૂરી પાછળનું કારણ આપ્યું કે, ‘વિચરતી જાતિને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફાળવવાના ઠરાવ મુજબ, “જે પરિવારો વિચરતું જીવન જીવે છે અને સ્થાઈ થવા ઈચ્છે છે એમને જ પ્લોટ આપી શકાય.” જયારે ૧૨ દેવીપૂજક પરિવારો તો વિજાપુરમાં સ્થાઈ રહે છે એટલે એમને પ્લોટ આપી શકાય નહિ.’ ઉલટાનું એ સરકારી જગ્યામાં દબાણ કરીને રહે છે એટલે દબાણ ખાલી કરાવો એવો આદેશ આપ્યો.

અધિકારીઓનું આ અર્થઘટન કેટલું વાહિયાત છે. એકબાજુ ડોક્યુમેન્ટ માંગવામાં આવે! જે માટે એમને કોઈ જગ્યાએ સ્થાઈ રહેવું પડે. ગાડામાં, ગધેડાં કે ઊંટ પર પોતાનો સમાન લઈને વિચરણ કરતા પરિવાર જેની પાસે કોઈ ગામમાં રહેતા હોવાના આધારો નથી, તો આધારો નથી એટલે પ્લોટ ના મળે અને આધારો મેળવવા એ કોઈ જગ્યા- જ્યાં એને કાયમી રેહવું ગમે, એ પોતે વિચરણ કરે તે દરમ્યાન પોતાના પરિવારને મુકીને જવું ગમે એવા ગામમાં પ્લોટની માંગણી કરે તો એ સ્થાઈ થઇ ગયા? એટલે એમને પ્લોટ ના મળે!

સીધી રીતે પ્લોટ નથી આપવા એવું ના કહે, પણ આવા કારણો દર્શાવી આ પરિવારોના મનોબળને તોડી નાખે.

વળી ચોમાસામાં કોઈ પણ પરિવારને તે કોઈ પણ સરકારી જગ્યા પર દબાણ કરીને રહેતા હોય તો પણ તેમને જગ્યા ખાલી કરવાનો આદેશ ના કરી શકાય એવા કોર્ટના આદેશનું પણ ઉપરોક્ત કેસમાં ઉલ્લંઘન થયું છે. 

તા.૨૮/૦૭/૧૪ના રોજ અમે કલેકટર શ્રીને ઉપરોક્ત બાબતો સંદર્ભે મળ્યા અને રજૂઆત કરી કે, ‘તમે આ પરિવારો દબાણ કરીને રહે છે એ જગ્યા ખાલી કરાવો એવો આદેશ આપ્યો છે જે આ પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફાળવવા બાબતે કોર્ટે કરેલા આદેશનું ઉલ્લંઘન છે. સાથે સાથે આ પરિવારો તમે કહો છો, એમ દબાણ કરીને સ્થાઈ થઇ ગયા છે અને આ દબાણ તમે ખાલી કરવો છો જો એ ખાલી કરે છે, તો એ ફરી રઝળતા – વિચરતા થઇ જાય. તો એ પછી આ પરિવારો ઉપરોક્ત ઠરાવ અને તમારા અર્થઘટન પ્રમાણે વિચરતા થઇ ગયા એટલે એ  પ્લોટની માંગણી કરી શકશે.. આ કેવું?’

એમની પાસે આપણી રજૂઆતનો કોઈ જવાબ નહોતો એમણે કહ્યું, ‘હું આખી વિગત જોવડાવી લઉં છું...’ 

ફોટોમાં જે ૧૬ પરિવારોના ઘર બંધાયાં છે તે અને એની સામે જ જે ૧૨ પરિવારોના પ્લોટની માંગણી કરી છે તે જોઈ શકાય છે.
