The tasks VSSM team embarks upon on any given day are quite challenging hence, accomplishing those challenges  brings a sense of relief and delight within the team.  And at the end of the day  its the blessings that we receive from the communities that calms us the most.

“Ben may you always remain blessed, we weren’t expecting to obtain ration cards but your efforts made it happen, today we received the cards and that through from the hands of Mamlatdar Saheb…” said Mohmadbhai Dafer over the phone. There was a palpable joy in his voice, making us visualise the relief and happiness of his face……

VSSM’s Madhuben and Ilaben had worked tirelessly  to ensure that the 9 Dafer families of Pisaawala village of  Ahmedabad’s Dhandhuka block receive  the ration cards.

Across the state of Gujarat the Dafer community is  never welcomed  in any villages. Ironically, this community that is hired to guard and protect the farm and village boundaries are seen as robbers and thieves. Such contradictory mindsets of the society has ensured that  Dafer remains an extremely marginalised and isolated community. The 9 families that just received their ration cards stay in extremely pathetic living conditions on the outskirts of Pisaawala village. Every monsoon  their homes get water logged. Its difficult to step anywhere near  their settlement during rains,  insects and other invertebrates nests are all around. The living conditions are both disgusting as well as pathetic. VSSM has helped these families receive their Voter ID cards and now rations cards. We will now try to secure residential plots for these families. It is going to be an uphill task but will definitely remain persistent with our efforts….

As Mohamadbhai said towards the end of our conversation, “Ben do not leave us, if not you there is nobody to stand besides us!!”

VSSM team is glad to be instrumental in bringing joy in the lives of thousands of such families and all this has been possible because of the support of our well-wishers and the empathetic authorities.

‘બેન તમને ખુબ દુઆ મલશે, અમને તો રેશનકાર્ડની આશા જ નહોતી પણ આજે મળ્યા અને પાછા મામલતદાર સાહેબે આપ્યા’

અમદાવાદ જિલ્લાના ધંધુકા તાલુકાના પીસાવાડા ગામમાં મોહમ્મદભાઈ ડફેર ફોન પર આ વાત કરતા હતા ત્યારે તેમના મોંઢા પરનો રાજીપો સ્પષ્ટ જોઈ શકાતો હતો. vssmના કાર્યકર મધુબહેન અને ઈલાબહેનના સતત પ્રયત્નથી આજે 9 પરિવારોને રેશનકાર્ડ મળ્યા છે.

ગામથી દુર ઘાસના છાપરાં બનાવીને રહેતા આ પરિવારોની વસાહતમાં ચોમાસામાં તો પગ ક્યાં મુકવો તે પ્રશ્ન થાય. કાળી ભરવાડી(ઈયળ જેવી જીવાત)ના ઝુંટ વસાહતમાં ચોમેર દેખાય. એક રીતે ચીતરી ચડે તેવી સ્થિતિ અને બીજી બાજુ વરસાદમાં ઝેરી જીવતજંતુઓ પણ નીકળે. તદન ખરાબ પરિસ્થિતિમાં આ પરિવારો રહે છે. આવામાં vssmના પ્રયત્નથી તેમને મતદારકાર્ડ અને હવે રેશનકાર્ડ મળ્યા છે. હવે રહેણાંક અર્થે કાયમી પ્લોટ અને ઘર મળે તેની આશા આ પરિવારોને છે.

મોહમ્મદભાઈ રાજીપો વ્યક્ત કરતા છેલ્લે કહ્યું, ‘બેન અમને છોડી ના દેતા નહીં તો અમારુ કોઈ કામ નહીં થાય.’

મોહમ્મદભાઈ જેવા હજારો માણસોના મોઢા પર રાજીપો લાવવામાં સંસ્થાને મદદરૃપ થતા સ્વજનોના કારણે અમે અને સાથે સાથે સરકારી તંત્ર પણ નિમિત્ત બન્યું છે. સૌનો આભાર..

The 6 Vansfoda families from Gondal, Rajkot survive under hellish living conditions. A glance at them and one can’t help but feel these families are  merely surviving and not living their lives. VSSM’s Kanubhai played an important role in ensuring these families receive Voter-ID  and Ration cards. Kanubhai has also filed applications for allotment of residential plots. The District Collector has written letters to District Development Officer and Additional Director - Vikasti Jaati, Rajkot asking them to do the needful in the matter. While we have written a letter to the District Collector as he has all the authority required to sanction and allot the plots. Inspite of all these efforts the matter is getting delayed, we aren’t able to comprehend why???

Kanubhai and Chayaben of VSSM are in process of preparing a request proposal on the matter. They are also working on bringing the children from these families to school, which again is proving to be a difficult matter. The need of child’s birth certificate at the time of admission has long been relinquished and yet   the school authorities keep asking for the same document that it the one of the primary reasons that keep the children of nomadic communities away from school. In absence of   the birth certificate the families are required to get an affidavit and submit the same. These are   the documents that are absolutely unnecessary and yet the poor families have to incur such costs. As these families say, “we have done all the necessary expenditure on the cost of getting the documents that would allow us to send our children to school and secure a small lot to build a home!!” What now remains is the long  and patient wait….

VSSM દ્વારા વાંસફોડા પરિવારોની પ્લોટ માટેની દરખાસ્ત તૈયાર કરવામાં આવી

રાજકોટના ગોંડલમાં 6 વાંસફોડા પરિવારો તદન ખરાબ પરિસ્થિતિમાં જીવી રહ્યા છે. તેમની સ્થિતિ જોઈને તો એવું લાગે જાણે કુદરતે તેમને જીવન આપ્યું છે અને તે આ લોકો પુરુ કરી રહ્યા છે. vssmના કાર્યકર કનુભાઈની મદદથી આ પરિવારોને મતદારકાર્ડ, રેશનકાર્ડ મળ્યા. અમે આ પરિવારોને પ્લોટ મળે તે માટે અરજી કરી છે. પણ રાજકોટ કલેકટર દ્વારા આ સંદર્ભે જીલ્લા વિકાસ અધિકારી તથા નાયબ નિયામક વિકસતી જાતિ રાજકોટને આ સંદર્ભે ઘટતું કરવાનો પત્ર પાઠવવામાં આવ્યો છે.

કલેકટરને અમે પ્લોટ ફાળવણીની સત્તા તેમના તાબા હેઠળની છે તેવો પત્ર પાઠવ્યો છે. પણ કોણ જાણે આ પરિવારોને પ્લોટ ક્યારે ફાળવાશે.

હાલમાં vssmના કાર્યકર કનુભાઈ તથા છાયાબહેન આ પરિવારોને પ્લોટ મળે તેની દરખાસ્ત તૈયાર કરાવી રહ્યા છે. તો સાથે સાથે તેમના બાળકોને શાળામાં ભણવા બેસાડવાનું પણ કરે છે. સરકારી શાળાએ આ બાળકોના જન્મતારીખના દાખલા ના હોવાથી એફીડેવીટ કરાવવા કહ્યું. જે કાયદા પ્રમાણે જરૃરી નથી. છતાં આવા ખોટા ખર્ચ કરાવવાનું મોટાભાગના સરકારી તંત્ર દ્વારા થતું હોય છે.
ખેર વાંસફોડા પરિવારોના બાળકો ભણે અને આ પરિવારોને પ્લોટ મળે તે આશાએ તેમણે તેમની ભાષામાં કહીએ તો જરૃરિ તમામ કાગળ પતરનો ખર્ચ કરી દીધો છે.જોઈએ હવે ફાઈનલી તેમને પ્લોટનો કબજો ક્યારે મળે છે.
