On behalf of the VSSM Team, we are thankful to all our well-wishers and all associates who helped us in this important work. Their confidence in us enabled us to desilt 252 lakes and plant 8.50 lakhs saplings. The real heroes are the members of VSSM team who worked hard to accomplish the tasks of planting saplings, taking care of the trees and working for desilting lakes. It is a joint effort of all concerned. The Government has recognised our services and this definitely inspires us to put in more effort and increase our enthusiasm. In the coming times we will put in more efforts in our mission of improving the environment. We are obliged to all for their positive contribution and to the Government for recognising the work that we do.
ગુજરાત સરકારના કલાઈમેટ ચેન્જ વિભાગ દ્વારા પર્યાવરણ ક્ષેત્રે ઉત્કૃષ્ઠ કામ કરવા બદલ ક્લાઈમેટ ચેન્જ એવોર્ડ આપવામાં આવે. VSSM ને પાણી અને પર્યાવરણ ક્ષેત્રે ઉત્તમ કામગીરી કરવા માટે માનનીય મંત્રી શ્રી મુળુભાઈ બેરાના હસ્તે પુરસ્કાર આપવામાં આવ્યો.

Dr Shri Jayesh Bavishi who resides in Papalpur and remains actively associated with the welfare activities in the region called to share the news. The Rotary Club of Palanpur City has been involved in numerous welfare and charity pursuits, since 2005 they have been conferring the Banas Ratna Awrads to individuals working for the betterment of Banaskantha.
The awards are presented to individuals residing in Banaskantha, I had assumed. I went ahead and asked Jayeshbhai the same to which he replied, “We confirm the honor upon individuals who have considered Banaskantha their own and have worked for the development of the region, they need not be residents of this district.”

The indeed was a joyous moment.
Our neighbour, Dama Uncle (Vasnat Dama) jokingly calls me Miss Banaskantha, and many have inquired whether my native is Banaskantha. And it is an obvious inquiry. We have been working with the nomadic and de-notified communities in 22 districts of Gujarat but the environment related pursuits remain concentrated to Banaskantha only. Hence, one feels we only work in Banaskantha.

Most importantly, the award does not honour one individual, therefore the true recipients of this award are individuals who help us chase our dreams, the team of VSSM and the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees for giving me the space to work with a strong team, to our well-wishers for trusting us always… you are the true recipients of these awards. And many thanks to Maulik, Kiara and my parents who have made it possible for me to continue on this path.

વિવિધ ક્ષેત્રે કાર્ય કરતા લોકોને આપે..
જયેશભાઈના મોંઢે એવોર્ડનું નામ સાંભળી પ્રથમ તો બનાસકાંઠાવાસીને આ એવોર્ડ અપાતો હોય તેમ લાગેલું ને જયેશભાઈને મે એ પુછી પણ લીધું. જવાબમાં જયેશભાઈએ કહ્યું, બનાસકાંઠાના વતની ન હોય પણ જેમણે બનાસકાંઠાને પોતાનું માન્યું હોય અને જિલ્લાના વિકાસના કાર્યોમાં રસ દાખવ્યો હોય તેને એ સન્માન અમે આપીએ...
આમ આ ધન્યતાની ઘડી તો ખરી જ...
અમારા પડોશી દામા અંકલ(વસંત દામા) મને રમૂજમાં મીસ બનાસકાંઠા કહે.. તો ઘણા લોકો મને તમે બનાસકાંઠાના વતની એમ પુછે... એમનું આવું પુછવું - કહેવું સ્વાભાવીક મૂળ વિચરતી વિમુક્ત જાતિઓ સાથેનું અમારુ કાર્ય ગુજરાતના 22 જિલ્લામાં પણ પર્યાવરણલક્ષી કાર્યો ફક્ત બનાસકાંઠામાં કરીએ એટલે સૌને અમે બનાસકાંઠામાં જ કાર્ય કરીએ એમ વધુ લાગે...
રોટરી કલ્બ પાલનપુર સીટીનો આ સન્માન માટે ઘણો આભાર.. એવોર્ડ સાથે તમે અમારી સાથે જોડાવ અને આપણે સાથે મળીને વધારે સતકાર્યોમાં નિમિત્ત બનીએ એમ ઈચ્છુ..

When work gets Award, it becomes the occasion of happiness!
State Government along with Central government has respected my work with ‘Nari Shakti Award’, obviously I feel humbled with the recognition.Initially those who had been asking the question, “who are the Nomadic Tribes?” are now aware about Nomadic Tribes. We are painstakingly trying since the year 2006 for this community, to get accepted by government and society. I would certainly say that by showing such a respect, everybody has accepted our family. Yes, there are problems but I am sure that it will also get solved. Everybody who supported me in this work has right for this recognition and respect. Their constant feelings and warmth as well as their trust in us has made this happened.
I would also give credit to the people who are sensitive authorities in the government.
I bow down to the Nomadic Tribes and De-Nomadic Tribes who gave me chance to peep in to their lives, understood my feeling of being one among them, accepted, gave me chance to live with them and gave a hope that everything will be fine being with them.
Many thanks to all my loving people… and to all my team whose support is very important to reach at this stage.
My daughter Kiara and Maulik are the integral part of the team, their time share in my life which they gave up and the whole team of VSSM Trustees who gave me enough freedom, trusted me… I express immense gratitude to all…

કામને કોઈ સન્માને એ અવસર આનંદનો.
ભારત સરકારની સાથે રાજ્ય સરકાર પણ સન્માને એ મજાનું. હરખ તો થાય જ.
વિચરતી જાતિ એટલે કોણ એવા શરૃઆતી પ્રશ્નો પુછનારને આજે ખ્યાલ છે વિચરતી એટલે કોણ. 2006થી આ સમુદાયને સરકાર અને સમાજ સ્વીકારે એ માટેની મથામણ અમે સૌ કરતા ને આવા સન્માનથી અમારા આ પરિવારને સૌએ સ્વીકાર્યો તેવું ચોક્કસ કહીશ. હા પ્રશ્નો છે પણ એય હલ થશે એની ખાત્રી છે.
આ સન્માનના હકદાર આ કાર્યમાં મદદરૃપ થનાર સૌ. તેમની સતત હૂંફ,લાગણી અને અમારામાં દાખવેલી શ્રધ્ધાથી આ થયું.
સરકારમાં બેઠેલા સંવેદનશીલ વ્યક્તિઓને પણ આનો શ્રેય આપવો ઘટે.
અને વિચરતી વિમુક્ત જાતિઓને નતમસ્તક વંદન એમણે એમના જીવનમાં ડોકિયું કરવાની તક આપી ને તેમનામાંના એક હોવાની લાગણીને સમજી એમની સાથે જીવવાની તક આપી ને એમની સાથે ઊભા રહી સારુ થશેની આશા જન્માવી.
આભાર સૌ પ્રિયજનોનો... ને મારી આખી ટીમનો જેમના ટેકાથી આ બધુ ઊભુ થયું છે.
મારી દીકરી કિઆરા ને મૌલિક તો ટીમનો અભીન્ન હીસ્સો એમણે જતો કરેલો એમના હિસ્સોનો સમય ને vssmનુ ટ્રસ્ટી મંડળ જેમણે મને મોકળાશ આપી. મારામાં વિશ્વાસ મુક્યો.. સો પ્રત્યે કૃતજ્ઞતા...

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GOI’s Press Information Bureau, Ahmedabad and Gujarat University’s Department of Communication and Journalism on the occasion of International Women’s Day hosted a joint program to facilitate women path-breakers who have innovatively used the information and communication platform for the upliftment and development of women at extreme margins.
VSSM works for the marginalised communities that include a significant number of women. We are grateful for the honour and recognition of these efforts.
One of the primary reason to accept this award is my Guru Ms Sonalbahen. It is a matter of honour to receive the award from a teacher whom I respect the most. She was the one who instilled some very important life lessons, it is a good fortune to be able to have Sonalbahen as a teacher. I have studied under numerous teachers from grade 1 to M.Phil but very few teachers have made a lasting impact and Sonalbahen tops the list. Even today whenever I have to talk about my teachers Sonalbahen comes first to my mind.
Thank you, Ma’am, you are one of those who enabled me to find my goal in life!!
The honour was accepted on behalf of all who have walked with me through VSSM’s journey.

On 24th July 2015 VSSM received the ‘GLORY OF GUJARAT’ award for its commendable work with the nomadic and denitrified tribes of Gujarat. The award was presented by H. E. the Governor of Gujarat Shri. O. P. Kohli.
The journey we have embarked upon wouldn’t have been possible if it hadn’t been the continuous support and care of our well-wishers and the warmth of the communities we work with. The team of VSSM who stands by every pain and joy of the communities has been honoured by this award and we are truly grateful for this recognition.

Little did I know that these lines from one of my favorite poems while growing up would end up becoming the mission of my life ..….
‘So what if am not a golden lamp,
I would feel humbled if as a clay lamp,
I can light up a poor’s household…….’
The work we set on to do reflect the essence of the lines mentioned above…. I love what I do not because it brings appreciation and adulation but because this recognition endorses the cause of nomadic tribes we strive to achieve.
I distinctly remember the year 2005, when neither the civil society nor our politicians and authorities were aware of the issues and challenges of these communities. In fact most were not even aware about the existence of these communities. However, the scenario is quite different today and I am grateful to our dear friends and well-wishers our Board of Trustees and the team of #VSSM for choosing to walk this path.
And to my very dear nomadic families who have accepted and allowed me to become a part of their being, for giving me this opportunity to stand beside them, I will remain eternally obliged to you for all the love you have given me….
I am grateful to Gujarat Vishwakosh Trust for recognizing our endeavors and conferring us with the ‘Samaj Utkarsh Award’. I feel deeply humbled.
With hope of creating a beautiful universe…

The activities of VSSM were recently honoured by the Jagrut Jan Trust, an organisation based in Ahmedabad. Ever year on 15th August the Jagrut Jan Trust facilitates individuals or organisations doing notable work in the areas of national development. Th award also includes Rs. 51,000/- . Th amount is to be utilised for development activities by the organisation.
WE are grateful to Jan Jagrut Trust for the recognition and honour. VSSM, at this juncture, would also like to thank its well-wishers and friends who have provided consistent support to its activities, it is because of this unflinching support that the cause of he nomadic tribes is getting the required attention.
And as we say always with every honour and recognition we receive, our obligation towards the society increases and so does our commitment to live up to the expectations….

વિચરતી જાતિઓ સાથેના vssmના કામોને બિરદાવવામાં આવ્યું..
vssm દ્વારા થઇ રહેલાં વિચરતી જાતિઓના ઉત્કર્ષના કામોને અમદાવાદમાં કાર્યરત જાગૃત જન ટ્રસ્ટ દ્વારા બિરદાવવામાં આવ્યું. સંસ્થાના કામોને મદદરૂપ થવાના આશયથી રૂ.૫૧,૦૦૦ની ધનરાશી પણ એવોર્ડના રૂપમાં અર્પણ કરવામાં આવી. તા.૧૫ ઓગસ્ટના રોજ આપવામાં આવતો આ એવોર્ડ રાષ્ટ્ર નિર્માણમાં સહભાગી થનારને આપવામાં આવે છે.
vssmને સમાજ દ્વારા જે સન્માન મળ્યું એ માટે જાગૃત જન ટ્રસ્ટના અમે આભારી છીએ. આ એવોર્ડ એ vssm ટીમ, વિચરતી જાતિઓના કામોમાં આર્થિક અને માનસિક રીતે અમારી સાથે છે, સતત ચિંતા કરે છે એ સૌની મહેનતનું પરિણામ છે. વિચરતી અને વિમુક્ત જાતિઓની સમસ્યા સમાજ સમક્ષ ધીમેધીમે ઉજાગર થઇ રહી છે એનો અમને અને આ સમુદાયને હર્ષ છે. vssm ને મળતા દરેક સન્માન વખતે અમે કહીએ છીએ એમ સમાજ પ્રયત્યે અમારી જવાબદારી વધી છે અને આ જવાબદારી અમે બખૂબીથી નિભાવીશુ..

Since last 9 years Gayatri Parivar has been celebrating the 21st century as a ‘century to celebrate the women power' by honouring the outstanding women from across India working in area of social change, for their remarkable contribution to the betterment of society. This year 6 women from our country were honoured for their contribution and VSSM was chosen as one of the recipients of this honour.
Team VSSM is grateful to Gayatri Parivar for this honour, it goes on to prove that the issues of these nomadic communities are being recognised by the society. We are eternally thankful for this recognition.
I am thankful to the friend, well-wishers and various officials who have supported our endeavours for the empowerment of the nomadic communities. I am also indebted to the nomadic communities for giving me the opportunity to serve them…...

ગાયત્રી પરીવાર દ્વારા છેલ્લા ૯ વર્ષથી ૨૧મી સદી નારી શક્તિની સદી તરીકે ઉજવવામાં આવે છે. આ ઉજવણીમાં સામાજિક ક્ષેત્રે વિશેષ યોગદાન પ્રદાન કરનારી બહેનોના સન્માન કરવામાં આવે છે. આ વર્ષે એમને દેશભરમાંથી કુલ છ બહેનોનું અને એમનાં કામનું સન્માન કર્યું જેમાં vssmનું કામ પણ બિરદાવવામાં આવ્યું.

કરોડો લોકો માટે ગાંધીવિચાર પ્રેરણા સ્ત્રોત બની રહ્યો છે ત્યારે ગાંધીમૂલ્યો અને ગાંધીવિચારનું અનૂસરણ અને સંવર્ધન કરી તેને પોતાના જીવનમાં વણી લઈને લોકો સુધી પહોંચાડવામાં મહત્વનું યોગદાન આપનાર વિવિધ મહાનુભાવોનું ઈનક્રેડિબલ ગાંધી ફેસ્ટીવલ અંતર્ગત ગૂજરાત વિદ્યાપીઠ, કોચરબ આશ્રમ અને નવગુજરાત સમય દ્વારા ટ્રુ ઈવેન્ટસના ઉપક્રેમે સન્માન કરવામાં આવ્યું. જેમાં નારી શક્તિ એવોર્ડ માટે વિચરતા સમુદાયો સાથે થયેલા કામોને સન્માનીત કરવામાં આવ્યું.ફરી એક વાર આ સન્માન માટે vssm પરિવાર વતી આ કામમાં મદદરૃપ થનાર સૌનો આભાર માનુ છું.

Every year The Giant International Federation 3-B honours individuals who have brought glory to Gujarat on national and international levels through their tireless efforts to the mission they have embarked upon. This year 6 individuals were facilitated for their outstanding contribution to the cause they have been associated with. VSSM was one of the recipient of this honour in a special event was held in Jamnagar on 25th September.
Such laurels become possible because of the hard working and devoted team of VSSM, the well-wishers and friends of VSSM who ensure the our march towards attaining our mission continues without any difficulties and the government authorities and officials whose compassionate approach eases the bureaucratic nitty-gritties.
It was my honour to accept this award on behalf of the team and well-wishers of VSSM and am grateful to the Giants International Federation for this recognition. Such recognition reaffirms my faith in our society and am sure we shall be able to achieve lot more in coming times….
વિચરતી જાતિઓ માટે કરેલા કામો માટે મિત્તલ પટેલનું સન્માન
કોઈ પણ વ્યક્તિ કોઈ સારુ કામ કરે અને એની સમાજ દ્વારા નોંધ લેવાય તે સૌને ગમે. વિચરતી જાતિઓ સાથેના અમારા કામની નોંધ લઈને જાયન્ટ્સ ઈન્ટરનેશનલ ફેડરેશન 3 – બી દ્વારા રાષ્ટ્રીય – આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય કક્ષાએ ગુજરાતને ગૌરવ અપાવનાર વિવિધ ક્ષેત્રના 6 વ્યક્તિઓનું સ્નમાન તા.25 સપ્ટેમ્બર 2016ના રોજ જામનગરમાં કરવામાં આવ્યું. જેમાં vssmના કામોને બિરદાવવામાં આવ્યું.
સંસ્થાના કામોને મળેલો આ એવોર્ડએ વિચરતી જાતિઓ માટે દિવસ રાત જોયા વગર દોડતા કાર્યકરો, જેમના કારણે અમે દોડી શકીએ છીએ તેવા સ્વજનો અને આ કામમાં મદદરૃપ થતા સૌ અધિકારીઓનો છે. સંસ્થાને મદદરૃપ થતા સૌ સ્વજનો, કાર્યકરો વતી ગઈ કાલે આ એવોર્ડ સ્વીકારવાનું મને સૌભાગ્ય મળ્યું તે બદલ જાયન્ટ્સ ઈન્ટરનેશનલ ફેડરેશન તથા આપ સૌની આભારી છું.
અમારા સૌના પ્રયત્નોથી અમે પાશેરામાં પૂણી જેટલું કરી શક્યા છીએ હજુ કેટલુંય કરવું છે અને સમાજ તેમાં સાથે રહેશે તેવો વિશ્વાસ ઉત્તરોતર વધી રહ્યો છે..

I am extremely grateful to the well-wishers, donors and friends of VSSM who have stood by us in thick and thin believe me, without your support it would have been difficult to achieve so much, the hardworking team of VSSM for remaining persistent and never giving up and to my very dear nomadic and de-notified communities for giving us an opportunity to work with you…..without your faith none of this would have been possible…..
વિચરતી જાતિઓ સાથે vssm દ્વારા થઈ રહેલા કામને ધરતી રત્ન એવોર્ડથી ગુજરાતના મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીએ નવાજ્યું. સૌ આપ્તજનો જે આ કામમાં મદદરૃપ થયા, મારી આખી ટીમ જે દિવસ રાત આ સમુદાયોના પ્રશ્નો માટે ઝઝૂમી રહી છે તે અને સૌથી વહાલી અમારી આ જાતિઓ કે જેમના થકી આ કામ કરવાનું થઈ શક્યું તે સૌનૌ vssm પરિવાર વતી આભાર માનુ છું...

Every year on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Utkarsh Healthcare Foundation facilitates exemplary and remarkable women who have contributed towards the betterment of the society.This year on 6th March, the VSSM and his entire team was facilitated for their work towards the empowerment of the extremely marginalised nomadic communities.
VSSM is thankful to Utkarsh Healthcare for recognising VSSM’s efforts, more than the award it is such recognition that helps us spread awareness on issues nomadic communities and their ongoing struggle to live with dignity.

ઉત્કર્ષ હેલ્થકેર ફાઉન્ડેશન ઇન્ડિયા દ્વારા દર વર્ષે વિશ્વ મહિલા દિનની ઉજવણી વખતે સમાજમાં વિશિષ્ટ પ્રદાન કરનારી મહિલાઓના સન્માન કરવામાં આવે છે તા.૬ માર્ચ ૨૦૧૬ના રોજ વિચરતા સમુદાયો સાથેના કામો સંદર્ભે vssm અને એની સાથે સંકળાયેલી સમગ્ર ટીમનું બહુમાન કરવામાં આવ્યું.
vssm અને વિચરતી જાતિઓ ઉત્કર્ષ હેલ્થકેર ફાઉન્ડેશન ઇન્ડિયાના આભાર વ્યક્ત કરે છે. એવોર્ડએ કરેલા કામનું સન્માન તો છે પણ એનાથીયે વિશેષ આ સમુદાયોના પ્રશ્નોની સમાજ દ્વારા નોંધ લેવાઈ રહી છે એ છે.
