We wander, we stray across the woodlands.

We endure the pain inflicted by generations of neglect.

The same  Mother Earth has birthed us, yet we face alienation.

Just like stray cattle, we have no address to call our own!

Without a home, village or identity to call our own, tell us where do we go,

Under the open sky, on the bare earth is how we survive.

We have found respite from the anguish we have suffered for centuries.

Noted poet, author and ex-president of VSSM,  Shri Madhavbhai Ramanuj penned the above lines expressing the painful sentiments of nomadic tribes.

Our Chief Minster had graced the house warming ceremony for 65 nomadic families at Rajkot’s Rampara Beti a few days ago. The houses have been built by VSSM in partnership with the government. A similar event is taking place in Banaskantha’s Kakar village on 20th May 2022 at 4.30 PM.

VSSM has facilitated the construction of homes for 90 nomadic families and a hostel with the capacity of hosting 180 children. At Kakar, the Chief Minister will perform a house warming ceremony for 90 families and the opening ceremony of the hostel. He will also give away residential plot documents to 700 families and E-Shram Card, Arogya Card, ration cards, caste certificates etc. to 3000 individuals.

We are grateful to the District Collector Shri Anandbhai and the local administration of Banaskantha; it is because of their compassion these families will receive these documents in such a short time.

We invite our well-wishing friends and supporters to be part of this public event.

The families who have been living in wild woodlands are on the threshold of moving into settlements made with care and compassion. Seven hundred more families will begin their journey of building a home, and their anguish will soon find respite.

Once again many thanks to the government and administration.

અમે રઝળતાં અમે રખડતાં વગડે ભટકતા રહીએ,

સદીઓથી અવગણનાનાં દર્દ અમે આ સહીએ..

આ ધરતીની કુખે જનમ્યા તોયે રહ્યા પરાયા,

નહીં ઠામ, નહીં ઠેકાણા જાણે ઢોર હરાયાં...

ઘર નહીં, ગામ નહીં, ઓળખ નહીં કહો ક્યાં જઈ રહીએ,

ઉપર આભ- નીચે ધરતીનો અર્થ અમારુ જીવન..

સદીઓ જૂના સંતાપોને હવે મળ્યો વિસામો....

આદરણીય માધવ રામાનુજ જાણીતા કવી, સાહિત્યકાર અને એક વખતે VSSM સંસ્થાના પ્રમુખ રહી ચુકેલા. તેમણે વિચરતી જાતિઓની લાગણી વ્યક્ત કરતી આ કવિતા લખેલી..

તાજેતરમાં આપણા રાજ્યના મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રીએ રાજકોટના રામપરાબેટીમાં 65 વિચરતી જાતિઓને VSSM અને સરકારની મદદથી બંધાયેલા ઘરમાં ગૃહપ્રવેશ કરાવેલો. આવો જ એક અનોખો કાર્યક્રમ બનાસકાંઠના કાકર ગામમાં તા.20 મે 2022ના રોજ સાંજના 4.30 વાગે યોજાવાનો..

90 વિચરતી જાતિના પરિવારો  તેમજ વિચરતી જાતિના 180 બાળકો રહી શકે તેવા છાત્રાલયની વ્યવસ્થા કાકરગામમાં અમે ઊભી.. મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી અહીંયા પણ 90 પરિવારોને ગૃહપ્રવેશ કરાવશે. તેમજ છાત્રાલયનું ઉદ્ધાટન કરશે. આ સિવાય 700 ઉપરાંત પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફળવાશે ને એ સિવાય  3000 થી વધુ લોકોને ઈ શ્રમકાર્ડ, આરોગ્ય કાર્ડ, રેશનકાર્ડ, જાતિ પ્રમાણપત્ર વગેરે મળશે... 

આ પરિવારો માટે લાગણી રાખનાર સૌને કાર્યક્રમમાં પધારવા ખાસ વિનંતી.. 

સદીઓ વગડો ખૂંદનાર આ પરિવારો વહાલપની વસાહતમાં રહેવા જશે... 

જ્યારે વગડોખૂંદતા 700 થી વધુને ઠરીઠામ થવાનું ઠેકાણું મળશે... તેમના સંતાપોને વિસામો મળશે...

A dream I have nurtured since 2011!!...

 A dream I have nurtured since 2011!!

To educate not one but thousands of children, to make them self-reliant. However, to realise this dream, we required land, which we did not have. We were looking for land; hence, we knocked on the doors of government, various organisations and wealthy individuals. We were hoping for someone to donate or allow us to use their land. But our efforts remained futile.

As they say, “things happen when they are destined to…” our search for land was also waiting for a favourable time.

We were in 2021, yet there was no sign of land. I was beginning to feel hopeless and tired, and the thought that it might not be possible to realise the dream also started to creep in…

It was just then that I thought of respected  Shri Chandrakantbhai Gogri, founder of Aarti Industries and one of our pioneering supporters.

Chandrakantbhai has always been our friend in need, who has held our hand through thick and thin. I requested him to help me buy five bigha land, to which he asked what do I intend to do upon that land? I began narrating the dreams I aspire to bring to life upon this land. “I don’t think five bighas would be enough to accommodate your dreams,” he responded by the end of my monologue.

“This is my dream, and I will leave the rest to yo!” I tell him. After which seeds were sown for Vallabh Vidya Mandir on 31 bighas of land at Pansar, which Chandrakantbhai bought for us. My dream had become a shared dream,  as Chandrakantbhai’s vision blended in.

“Mittal let us make an enclave where children receive technical education, they begin to earn a decent income, become capable of travelling abroad. Let us educate children in a manner they never fall short of skills.

It was time for the dream I had seen with my eyes wide open to turn into reality.  

On 1st May, at Pansar near Gandhinagar, we performed a groundbreaking ceremony for an all inclusive educational enclave that would house, educate and train more than 1000 children from marginalised families from all over Gujarat.

The ceremony was graced by respected Chandrakantbhai, his daughter Hetal, VSSM’s well-wishers, and long-time supporters.

The first phase of construction will include hostel buildings for girls and boys, to be followed by classrooms, training centres and much more. The idea is not only to raise children who have the essential skills to earn and live with dignity but are also responsible citizens.

I will remain eternally grateful to respected Adha (Shri Liladhar Gada – VSSM’s President), who has been my compatriot in this work right from the beginning and respected Lal Rambhiya (Lal uncle) for connecting us Chandrakantbhai.

I pray to the Almighty to help me turn the dream of educating the children from deprived communities into a reality. And may the universe inspire you to join the efforts. 

ભૂમી મંગલમ....

એક સ્વપ્ન 2011માં જોયું.

સ્વપ્ન એક નહીં પણ હજારો બાળકોને ભણતા કરવાનું, તેમને પગભર કરવાનું.. પણ આ સ્વપ્ન સાકાર કરવા જોઈએ જમીન. જે અમારી પાસે નહીં. સરકાર થી લઈને વિવિધ સંસ્થાઓ, માતબર મિલકત ધરાવનાર સૌને મળ્યા. મૂળ કોઈ ભૂમીનું દાન કરી શકે તો? અથવા વાપરવા આપી શકે એ માટે.. પણ મેળ ન પડે...

2013 થી જમીનની શોધ કરતા પણ કહે છે ને સમય વગર કશું થતું નથી.. બસ એવું જ થયું..

આખરે આવી 2021.. થાકી ગઈ હતી. સ્વપ્ન પૂર્ણ નહીં થાય એવુંયે ક્યાંય થયું..

ત્યાં સમાજ કાર્યોમાં શરૃઆતથી મદદ કરનાર આદરણીય ચંદ્રકાન્તભાઈ ગોગરી - સ્થાપક આરતી ઈન્ડસ્ટ્રીઝ યાદ આવ્યા. 

મારા માટે એ સંકટ સમયની સાંકળ જેવા.. એમને મે પાંચેક વિઘા જમીન લઈ આપવા કહ્યું. ત્યારે એમણે  પુછ્યું શું કરવું છે આ જમીન પર? ને હું બોલતી ગઈ... અમારી વાત પતી ને એમણે કહ્યું, જેટલું કહ્યું છે એ બધુ પાંચ વિઘામાં ન પતે!

મે કહ્યું, મે સ્વપ્ન કહ્યું હવે તમે જેમ કરો તેમ...

બસ પછી તો પાસનરમાં 31 વિધા જમીનમાં વલ્લ વિદ્યા મંદિરના બીજ રોપાય. મે સ્વપ્ન જોયું એમાં ચંદ્રકાન્તભાઈનું સ્વપ્ન પણ ભળ્યું. 

મિત્તલ એવું હટકે સંકુલ કરીયે જેમાં બાળકો તકનીકી શિક્ષણ મેળવે આપણે એમને સરસ કમાતા કરીએ. એ વિદેશ પણ જાય.. ક્યાંય પાછા ન પડે એવા બાળકો તૈયાર કરીએ...

ખુલ્લી આંખે જોયેલું સ્વપ્નને પુર્ણ કરવાનું હવે થશે. 

ગાંધીનગરની નજીક પાનસર મુકામે હજારથી વધુ બાળકો રહી ને ભણી શકે તેવા સંકુલનું નિર્માણ કાર્ય કરવા ભૂમીપૂજનનો કાર્યક્રમ 1 લી મેના રોજ આયોજીત કર્યો. 

આદરણીય ચંદ્રકાન્તભાઈ, તેમના દીકરી હેતલ ને VSSM ના કાર્યોમાં શરૃઆતથી મદદ કરનાર અન્ય સ્વજનો ખાસ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા. 

આ જમીન પર પ્રથમ તબક્કામાં દીકરા - દીકરીઓ માટે હોસ્ટેલ બંધાશે. પછી બંધાશે તેમને તાલીમ આપી શકાય તેવા તાલીમી વર્ગો ને બીજુ ઘણુંયે...

આ સંકુલમાં આવનાર બાળકો આર્થિક ઉપાર્જન તો કરશે પણ સાથે સાથે આ દેશના જવાબદાર નાગરિકી બને તેવું અમે ખાસ કરીશું.

આદરણીય અધા (લીલાધર ગડા- પ્રમુખ VSSM) શરૃઆતથી આ કાર્યમાં મારા સાથીદાર, આદરણીય લાલ રાંભિયા(લાલ અંકલ) - વલ્લ વિદ્યામંદિરના સ્વપ્નને સાકાર કરવા ચંદ્રકાન્તભાઈ સુધી વાત પહોંચાડનાર કડી તમારા બેઉની હું ઋણી છું.તમારા થકી ચંદ્રકાન્તભાઈ મને મળ્યા..

તકવંચિત બાળકોને ભણાવવા માટે સેવેલા મનોરથ કુદરત પુર્ણ કરાવે તેવી અભ્યર્થના.. ને વધુ લોકો આ કાર્યમાં સહયોગ કરે તેવી પ્રાર્થના...

Kudos to you, Banaskantha,

You are growing to be aware and mindful. Yet, I remember the time we had to struggle to make you comprehend the gravity of the looming environmental crisis. We fought with the inhabitants of your soil to make them understand the need and importance of water, to cover the dry ground of Banas with a green cloak.

My team and well-wishing friends often asked me, "don't you get tired?"

"We are sowing the seeds of change; a day will come when these  efforts will pay off!" I would respond. 

That day has arrived.

The village leadership is sending invites to help them deepen the village lakes. The community that once refused to lift the excavated soil is bringing their tractors to ferry that soil and contribute to the effort.

A positive change is also happening on the tree plantation front. "Ben, you come to our village and plant trees; just let us know the support you need from us," I often hear from village leadership.

To witness this transformation brings us much joy. 

Recently, I received a call from Hanifbhai from Tharad. "Ben, our graveyard is spread across 8-9 acres. Let us work together to make it green!"

We reached the proposed site. Hanifbhai and his companions offered to clean the area, provide water and contribute Rs. 25,000 to 30,000 to make pits to plant the saplings. We would make arrangements for drip irrigation, plant the trees and appoint a tree caretaker. We were happy to see the preparedness Hanifbhai and his friends portrayed. I am happy that you have now woken up to the cause, and thank you for waking up before I got tired." I wish to tell Banaskantha.

I am sure we will accomplish the target of planting 5 lac trees in 2022.

ઘણી ખમ્મા બનાસકાંઠા તને....

તુ હવે જાગતલ થઈ રહ્યો છે.. #જળસંચયના અને વૃક્ષો ઉછેરવાના કામો માટે અમે કેવા મથતા.. તારી ધરા પર રહેતા ગામલોકો સાથે રીતસર માથાકૂટો કરતા.. સૌ પાણીના મહત્વને સમજે, બનાસની વેરાન ધરા પર વૃક્ષો ઉછેરે, મા ધરાને લીલુડો શણગાર ચડાવે તે માટે કેટલી માથાકૂટો કરતા... 

ક્યારેક મારા સાથીદારો, અમને મદદ કરનાર કહેતા તમને થાક નથી લાગતો? ને હું કહેતી  આ બધુ તો વાવેતર. એક દિવસ જરૃર ઊગી નકીળશે.. તે બસ હવે એ ઊગવા માંડ્યું...

ગામોમાંથી સામેથી પોતાના ગામના તળાવો ઊંડા કરવા કહેણ આવવા માંડ્યા. ને એક વખત માટી ઉપાડવાની ના પાડનાર લોકો હોંશે હોંશે ટ્રેક્ટર મુકે છે ને પાછો પોતાનાથી થાય તે ફાળો પણ આપે...

આવું જ વૃક્ષ ઉછેરમાં પણ થવા માંડ્યું છે. તમે આવો બેન અમારે શું સહયોગ કરવાનો કહી દો અમે કરીશું પણ તમે વૃક્ષો વાવો...કેવો હરખ થાય આ બધુ સાંભળીને...

હમણાં થરાદથી હનીફભાઈનો ફોન આવ્યો. બેન અમારુ કબ્રસ્તાન લગભગ 8 થી  9 એકરનું એને હરિયાળુ કરીએ. ને અમે પહોંચ્યા કબ્રસ્તાન જોવા. હનીફભાઈ ને એમના સાથીદારોએ પાણીનો બોરવેલ, કબ્રસ્તાનની સફાઈ સાથે 25000 થી 30,000નો ફાળો મૂળ વૃક્ષો ઉછેરવા ખાડા કરવા આપવા કહ્યું.... અમે ડ્રીપ લગાડીશું, વૃક્ષો વાવીશું ને એની સંભાળ માટે માણસ રાખીશું... પણ હનીફભાઈની તૈયારીથી રાજી થવાયું.. તમે પણ હનીફભાઈ જેવી તૈયારી સાથે તમારા ગામમાં વૃક્ષો ઉછેરવા માંગો તો અમારો સંપર્ક ચોક્કસ કરશો. નારણભાઈ રાવળ - 9099936035 પર.. 

હવે #બનાસકાંઠાને કહીશ તુ જાગ્યો... હું બહુ રાજી છું.. હું થાકુ એ પહેલાં તુ જાગ્યો...2022માં પાંચ લાખ વૃક્ષો ઉછેરવાનો લક્ષાંક છે ને લાગે છે પહોંચી વળીશું.. 

બાપ તને ખમ્મા... ને ખમ્મા બનાસવાસીઓને... કે જેમણે જલ અને વૃક્ષમંદિરમાં ભાગીદારી નોંધાવવાનું શરૃ કર્યું.. ઘણી ખમ્મા જાગતલ સૌને...

Mittal Patel visits Punima and her grand children

Three years ago, Hari hanged himself to death, leaving behind these three small children. A few months after his death, Hari’s wife walked away, leaving these children with their grandparents. 

The responsibility of raising the children fell upon old and frail Valabapa and Punima. 

The death of his son has shattered Valabapa mentally. “Why did you do this?” standing before his image, he seeks answers from Hari every morning! 

Valabapa cannot walk at all. So Punima and the children set out to beg every morning. And eat from whatever they have gathered. 

Hari had been VSSM’s volunteer for a long time, he was a courageous young man, and we have failed to understand the reasons behind his extreme step. 

VSSM’s Kanubhai and Chayaben did not like to see Hari’s family begging for food; hence, VSSM started supporting the family by giving them a monthly ration kit (as seen in the picture). The ration kit ensures that the family has food on the plate and that they do not need to go and beg for it. 

Manishaben Pandya, our US-based well-wisher, has taken up the responsibility for this family. 

Valabapa had always dreamt of a pucca house, VSSM has helped them build a house in Rajkot’s Rampara Beti. One of the pictures shares their current living condition. The family will move into their new home after the house warming ceremony on 13th May 2022, to be graced by our Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel. 

“Didi, take us with you to Ahmedabad; we want to study there.” The kids had told me when I had specially gone to see them. 

I was thrilled to hear this from them. Our Pansar Vallabh Vidya Mandir will be ready to host such kids within a year, and it is then we will bring these three to us. 

I fail to understand why someone as understanding as Hari would take such a drastic step; one should think of their children and old parents before taking such a life-threatening step!! As always, I keep praying to the almighty to provide strength to each of us to face the challenges life throws at us

ફોટોમાં દેખાય એ નાના ટબુડિયાઓને મુકીને હરીએ ત્રણ વર્ષ પહેલાં ગળે ફાંસો ખાધો.  નાના બાલુડાઓની મા હરીના ગયાના થોડા સમયમાં જ બાળકોને દાદા - દાદી પાસે મુકીને જતી રહી. 

વાલાબાપા અને પુનીમાને ઢળતી ઉંમેર બાળકોને ઉછેરવાની જવાબદારી આવી. 

વાલાબાપ માનસીક રીતે ભાંગી પડ્યા. હરીએ આવું કેમ કર્યું તેનો જવાબ તે હરીના ફોટો સામે જોઈને રોજ માંગે પણ હરી ક્યાં જવાબ આપવા આવે?

વાલાબાપા બીલકુલ ચાલી ન શકે. પુની મા બાળકો સાથે ભીખ માંગવા જાય ને જે મળે તેમાં પાંચેય પોતાનું પુરુ કરવા કોશીશ કરે..

હરી અમારો સ્વયંમસેવક. સંસ્થાના કામોમાં એ ખુબ મદદ કરતો. આમ તો હીંમતવાન પણ ખરો પણ કોણ જાણે એને શું થયું તે એણે આવું પગલું ભર્યું...અમારા કાર્યકર કનુભાઈ અને છાયાબહેન બેઉને નાના બાળકો માંગવા જાય એ ન ગમે.. એમણે અમને કહ્યું ને અમે દર મહિને રાશન આપવાનું છેલ્લા ઘણા વખતથી શરૃ કર્યું. ફોટોમાં એ જોઈ પણ શકાય...

અમેરીકામાં રહેતા મનીષાબહેન પંડ્યાએ આ પરિવારની જવાબદારી સ્વીકારી..રાશન મળતા પાંચેય જીવને હખ છે. માંગવા જવું નથી પડતું..

આ વાલાબાપાને પોતાના ઘરની ઘણી હોંશ.. રાજકોટના રામપરા બેટીમાં અમે એમનું સરસ મજાનું ઘર બનાવ્યું.. હાલ એ ફોટોમાં દેખાય એ હાલતમાં રહે. તા.13મે 2022ના રોજ રાજ્યના મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી રામપરાબેટીમાં રહેતા 65 પરિવારોને ગૃહપ્રવેશ કરાવવાના છે તે પછી વાલાબાપા, પુની મા ને આ ત્રણેય ટાબર  પાક્કા ઘરમાં જશે... પાક્કા ઘર સાથેનો એમનો ફોટો બે દિવસમાં મુકીશ.. 

હવે આ ત્રણેય ટાબર મોટા થઈ. હમણાં વસાહતમાં જવાનું થયું ત્યારે ખાસ એમને મળવા ગઈ. એ વખતે ત્રણેય કહ્યું, અમારે તમારી સાથે અમદાવાદ ભણવા આવવું છે દીદી...

બસ હરખ થાય આવું આ બચ્ચાઓના મોંઢે સાંભળીને.. 

અમારુ પાનસરનું વલ્લભ વિદ્યા મંદિર એક વર્ષમાં આવા બાળકોને રાખવાની ક્ષમતા ધરાવતું થઈ જશે પછી આ ત્રણેયને ઉપાડી આવીશું...

પણ હરી જેવા સમજણા છોકરાએ જે કર્યું તે ન ગમ્યું. અવળી મતી સુઝે ત્યારે બુઢ્ઢા મા -બાપ ને બાળકો સામે સૌએ જોવું જોઈએ એવું દરેકને કહેવાનું મન થાય...

ખેર કુદરત સૌને સદબુદ્ધી આપે ને આવી તકલીફો સહન કરવાની તાકાત આપે તેવી પ્રાર્થના

The significance of village lakes…

Our Prime Minister has called for building 75 lakes in every district of India, definitely a much-needed call for current times. Since 2015, VSSM has been deepening lakes in Banaskantha. Although initially, it took us a long time to convince the communities to invest in maintaining these valuable community resources, people were not prepared to partner or contribute to the deepening process.

Yet we persevered without losing patience or hope. During the initial years, we could barely deepen ten lakes a year. Gradually, as the community noticed the impact, their attitude changed. Today,  we easily deepen 30-35 lakes a year.

With the call given by respected Shri Narendrabhai Modi, we have constantly been receiving invites from the village leadership to deepen the lakes of their village.

The Kakar lake is one of the 75 lakes built/deepened in Banaskantha; the government also supported it under the Sujalam-Sufalam scheme.

Let us all pledge to catch every drop of rain; along with the deepening, let us also ensure that the channels bringing water to the lakes are also cleaned; the water will only flow into the lakes if its feeder branches are clear of debris.

We also request the government fill up all those lakes falling near the Narmada canals whenever the Sardar Sarovar dam overflows; it will help increase the groundwater levels.

તળાવો....

આપણા વડાપ્રધાન શ્રીએ આહવાન કર્યું દરેક જિલ્લામાં 75 તળાવો ગાળવાનું... 

આજના સમયની આ તાતી જરૃર. 

અમે 2015 થી બનાસકાંઠામાં તળાવો ગાળીએ.. ગામલોકો સાથે શરૃઆતમાં તળાવો ગળાવવા ખુબ માથકૂટો કરવી પડતી. લોકોની તૈયારી લોકભાગીદારી સાથે તળાવો ગળાવવા જરાય નહોતી. 

પણ ધીરજ ખોયા વગર અમે અમારા પ્રયત્નો કરતા ગયા. શરૃઆતમાં વર્ષમાં દસ તળાવો માંડ થતા. પણ ધીમે ધીમે અમારા પ્રયત્નોએ રંગ પકડ્યો આજે વર્ષના ત્રીસ થી પાંત્રીસ તળાવો અમે આરામથી કરી શકીએ છીએ. 

એમાંય આદરણીય શ્રી નરેન્દ્રભાઈ મોદીના આહવાન પછી તો ગામલોકો સામેથી અમારા ગામમાં તળાવ કરવું છે નું કહેવા માંડ્યા.

કાકરનું તળાવ બનાસકાંઠામાં વડાપ્રધાન શ્રીએ જે 75 તળાવો કરવાના કહ્યા એમાંનું એક. સરકારે સુજલામ સુફલામ યોજનામાં પણ અમારી સાથે આ તળાવ ગાળવામાં ભાગીદારી નોંધાવી. 

વરસાદના ટીપે ટીપે બચાવવાની જહેમત ઉઠાવવા તળાવો વધારે ખોદાવીએ અને ખાસ તળાવ ખોદાવતી વખતે પાણીના આવરાને બરાબર સાફ કરાવીએ. આવરો બરાબર હશે તો તળાવો પાણીથી ભરાશે...

ને સરકારને વિનંતી નર્મદા પાઈપલાઈન કે કેનાલ જે તળાવો પાસેથી પસાર થાય તે તળાવો નર્મદા ડેમ ઓવરફ્લો થાય ત્યારે ખાસ ભરાવે.. જેથી પાણીના તળ ઉપર આવે...

કાકર ગામના લોકોનો પણ આભાર એમણે સ્વેચ્છાએ માટી ઉપાડવાનું માથે લીધું તે અને VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા સ્વજનોનો પણ આભાર કે એમણે તળાવ ગળાવવા આર્થિક મદદ કરી...

Thank you, Chief Minister, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, District Collector Shri Arun Mahesh Babu and the district administration of Rajkot.

The joint efforts of the State Government, District Administration of Rajkot and VSSM have resulted in the construction of a  beautiful residential colony called Sanjeevani Society at Rajkot’s Rampart Beti. As a result, sixty-five nomadic families living in the woodlands for generations will soon move into houses made with love and compassion.

And the Chief Minister himself will grace the occasion of Gruh-Pravesh/House Warming ceremony for these families, overwhelming indeed!

The Prime Minister of India has pledged a home for each homeless family in this country, and the houses at Rampara Beti are an outcome of this pledge.

The entire district administration of Rajkot, especially the District Collector Shri Arunji, is very proactive; apart from the housewarming for 65 families, 400 homeless families belonging to various nomadic communities will also be allotted residential plots. Moreover, the 65 homes at Sanjeevani Society have electricity connections and access to water under Nal-se-Jal Scheme. All of these have been possible because of the enthusiasm of the district administration.

The District Collector and his team of officials visited the Sanjeevani Society recently when the families had the opportunity to express their gratitude (as seen in the picture). 

Apart from the government, our well-wishing donors have also contributed to construct these houses.

To all our well-wishing friends staying in and around Rajkot, who have always expressed the desire to meet us, we cordially invite you all to be part of the house warming ceremony.

હરખની હેલી ઉમટી છે.... 

રાજ્ય સરકાર, રાજકોટ વહીવટીતંત્ર અને વિચરતા સમુદાય સમર્થન મંચના નેજા હેઠળ રાજકોટના રામપરા બેટીમાં વિચરતી જાતિના 65 પરિવારોની સુંદર મજાની સંજીવની સોસાયટી નિર્માણ પામી છે.  

સદીઓથી વગડો ખુંદનાર આ પરિવારો વહાલપની વસાહતમાં રહેવા જવાના છે.

આ પરિવારોનો ગૃહપ્રવેશ રાજ્યના મુખ્યમંત્રી શ્રી પોતે કરાવવાના છે.. આનાથી મોટું આ પરિવારોનું સૌભાગ્ય શું હોઈ શકે?

આપણા વડાપ્રધાન શ્રીએ આવા ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારોને પોતાનું પાક્કુ ઘર આપવાનું સ્વપ્ન સેવ્યું ને આ આ આનંદની ઘડી નિર્માણ પામી... 

રાજકોટનું વહીવટીતંત્ર ને ખાસ કરીને કલેક્ટર શ્રી અરુણજી ખુબ જ સક્રિય.  65 પરિવારોના ગૃહપ્રવેશની પ્રક્રિયા તો થશે સાથે સાથે 400 જેટલા વિચરતી જાતિના ઘરવિહોણા પરિવારોને પ્લોટ - આમ તો પાક્કુ સરનામુ આપવાનું આ કાર્યક્રમ થકી થશે...

આ ઉપરાંત આ વસાહતમાં રહેતા 65 પરિવારોને વિજળી મળી, નલ સે જલ યોજના અંતર્ગત પાણીની સુવિધા પણ થઈ ગઈ. બધુ જ સુંદર રીતે તંત્રની સક્રિયતાના લીધે થયું. 

કલેકટર શ્રી અને સમગ્ર તંત્રએ વસાહતની મુલાકાત લીધી અને આ પરિવારોની લાગણી સાંભળી.. જે ફોટોમાં જોઈ શકાય છે..

આ પરિવારોના ઘર બાંધવા સરકાર ઉપરાંત VSSM સાથે સંકળાયેલા સ્વજનોએ પણ મદદ કરી. સૌનો ઘણો આભાર...

રાજકોટ આસપાસમાં રહેતા અમારા સ્નેહીજનો જેઓ મળવું છે એવું કહેતા તે તમામને આ કાર્યક્રમમાં  પધારવા ભાવભીનું નિમંત્રણ.. 

આ પરિવારોની પહેલીપેઢી પોતાના એ પણ પાક્કા ઘરમાં રહેવા જઈ રહી છે...

ખુબ હોંશ છે સૌને...શુભેચ્છા પાઠવવા જેમની પણ ભાવના છે એ સૌ પધારજો...

Mittal Patel meets Hiteshbhai

                            

"As the wise saying goes – reap what you sow; I am enduring the results of my Karma. I once used to be a satta-matka gambler. I earned in lacs and was very generous with donations. But my occupation also ruined many families. The reason I am facing such difficult times is my bad Karma. Being a baniya I should never have got into such an illicit profession; unfortunately, I had lost my way." Hiteshbhai's voice choked as he narrated his current condition. I was seated in front of him but couldn't gather words to console him. Both of us remained in silence for a while. Finally, Hiteshbhai gained composure and began talking, "I became very ill; my blood sugar levels shot up. When one of my legs had to be amputated, I questioned my path and gave up my unlawful occupation. I continued to help others and gave away whatever why I had. The empty house and my brother are all I have now!" Hiteshbhai shares as he points at his autistic brother Alkeshbhai.

Given his mental condition, Alkeshbhai clings to Hiteshbhai,  like a child attached to his mother.

"I want him to pass on before I do. I won't be able to die in peace if I go before him." The brothers share a strong bond. 

Their economic condition is so bad that they cannot afford two meals a day, and both cannot work. So an arrangement is made at a Jain lodge where both could go and eat. But the dinner menu of khichri-kadhi was not fit for Hiteshbhai, who is diabetic. So he would buy Parath-sabji for Rs. 50-60 from a lodge in the neighbourhood. The sisters and nephews in the family also would help from time to time. But they still would fall short of money as there were medical expenses to support.

Looking at their condition and need, we had increased the support from Rs.. 1400 to Rs. 2500. "I am a baniya by birth, and I should be giving, not receiving. But this is enough!" Hiteshbhai responded when asked if the amount would be sufficient.

Hitesbhai believes in serving all living beings, he has arranged for water and feed for the  birds in front of his house, if some organisation donates food for cows, he takes the responsibility of feeding them, and the grains he gets through his ration card is also given away to families in need, "I give away because I don't need these supplies and my dharma (moral duties) will not allow me to sell it!"

Listening to Hiteshbhai's life events, the numerous stories I have read of princes turning into paupers came to life. While many never experience remorse for their wrongdoings, Hiteshbhai is repenting for his bad Karma. The almighty will surely forgive him for that; also, the blessings he has accumulated by taking such good care of his younger brother will help him seek forgiveness from the almighty.

 'કરેલા કર્મ નડ્યા વગર નથી રહેતા.. વલ્લી મટકા રમાડતો ત્યારે લાખો કમાતો લોકોને છુટા હાથે મદદેય ઘણી કરી. પણ કેટલાયાના ઘર એ વખતે મારા આ ધંધાના લીધે ઉજડ્યા. તે હાલ જે ભોગવું એ એનું કર્મ. આમ તો વાણિયાનો દીકરો આવા કામોમાં કોઈ દી નો પડે. પણ મારી મતી ફરી ગયેલી તે....'

આટલું કહેતા હીતેશભાઈના ગળે ડૂમો ભરાયો.. એ ઘડીક ચુપ રહ્યા. હું એમની સામે બેઠેલી. એમની વાત સાંભળી મારે શું કહેવું એ મનેય ન સમજાયું. હું મૌન રહી ત્યાં એમણે સ્વસ્થતા કેળવી પાછુ કહ્યું, 

'જ્યારે ભયંકર બિમાર પડ્યો. ડાયાબીટીસ ખુબ વધ્યું, પગ કપાવવાનો વારો આવ્યો ત્યારે જાણે ભાન થઈ.. બધુ મુક્યું. માંગતા જે આવ્યા એ બધાને જે હતું તે બધુ આપ્યું. બસ હવે આ ખોખુ મારી પાસે છે ને આ મારો ભાઈ.'એમ કહીને પાસે બેઠેલ એમના નિજાનંદીભાઈને બતાવ્યા. 

અલ્કેશભાઈની માનસીક સ્થિતિ નબળી. એ હિતેશભાઈની આસપાસ જ રહે. બાળક કેવું માને વળગીને રહે અદ્લ એ રીતે. 

હીતેશભાઈ કહે, 'મારી પહેલાં આ જાય ને તો સારુ. એ વાંહે રહી જશે તો મારો જીવ હખેથી નહીં જાય.' બે ભાઈઓ વચ્ચે અદભૂત પ્રેમ.. 

આર્થિક સ્થિતિ બે ટંક પોત મેળે જમી શકે એવી નથી.વળી  કામ થઈ શકે એ સ્થિતિ પણ નથી. જૈન ભોજનશાળામાં જમવાનું મળે એ માટેની ગોઠવણ કોઈએ કરી આપેલી. પરિવારમાં બહેન, ભાણેજ વગેરે થાય તે નાની મોટી મદદ કરે છતાં તૂટો તો પડે. 

વળી ભોજનશાળામાં સાંજે ખીચડી, કઢી એવું આપે એમને ખીચડી ડાયાબીટીસના કારણે ખવાય નહીં. તે પોતાના ઘરની બાજુમાં આવેલી લોજમાં જઈને સાંજે પચાસ - સાહીઠ રૃપિયામાં શાક, પરોઠા લઈ આવે. પાછી બેઉ ભાઈઓની દવાઓ પણ ચાલે..

અમે મહિને 1400નો ટેકો કરતા. પણ સ્થિતિ જોઈને 2500નો ટેકો કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું.. જ્યારે અમે કહ્યું કે આટલી રકમ ચાલશે. ત્યારે એમણે કહ્યું, 'વાણિયાનો દીકરો તો દેતો સારો લાગે આમ કોઈ પાહેથી માંગવું ગમે? પણ આટલું ઘણું..'

સુરેન્દ્રનગરના હીતેશભાઈએ પોતાના ઘરની સામે પક્ષીઓ માટે પાણી અને ચણની વ્યવસ્થા ગોઠવી છે. કોઈ સંસ્થા ગાયો માટે રોટલા આપે તે એ લઈ આવે ને ગાયોને આપે. એમની પાસે રાશકાર્ડ છે એ રાશનકાર્ડ પર મળતું અનાજ એ ગામના કોઈ દુઃખી વ્યક્તિને આપી દે છે. એ કહે, મારે એ ખપનું નથી ને વેચુ તો ધરમ લાજે... 

રાજાને રંક થતાનું વાર્તાઓમાં વાંચ્યુ હતું પણ હીતેશભાઈએ એમની જાહોજલાલીની વાતો કરી ત્યારે બધુ પ્રત્યક્ષ થયું ને ત્યાંથી હાલની સ્થિતિ પણ જોઈ...

ખેર દુનિયામાં ઘણા માણસો છે જેમને પોતે કરેલા સારા નરસાનું ભાન નથી જ્યારે હીતેશભાઈને તો ભારે પસ્તાવો છે એટલે એમના કર્મો ઈશ્વર ચોક્કસ માફ કરશે ને પાછી ભાઈની સેવા તો માની જેમ કરે એટલે એ તો મોટુ ભાથુ બાંધાયું...

અમે આવા નિરાધાર માવતરોને દર મહિને રાશન અથવા તેમનો નિભાવ ખર્ચ આપીયે.. તમે પણ આવા માવતરોને દત્તક લઈ શકો એ જીવે ત્યા સુધી સાચવી ને અથવા તમારી ક્ષમતા હોય ત્યાં સુધી સાચવીને... અમને એ ટેકો મોટો થશે. આ માટે સંપર્ક 9099936019 પર કરવા વિનંતી..
