Gadaliyaa Families A Nomadic Community Acquired Citizenry Proofs Due To VSSM

VSSM facilitates issuance fo citizenry proofs to the Gadaliyaa families of Rajkot.

The district of Rajkot has a fairly large concentration of Nomadic Families, that too surviving in appalling conditions. And like every where else these nomadic families too  do not have any citizenry documents or proofs of their identity. Acquiring the Voter ID cards was not an issue here but getting the Ration cards issued,  as always was an uphill task. We were required to write to very senior level officials  of  the Civil Supply Department in Gandhinagar. At last, only when the district Collector intervened did the authorities commence processing the applications. The authorises have gradually began paying attention to our requests. 

Within one year of our working with the Gadaliyaa Families a Nomadic Community from Ghanteshwar in Rajkot, 28 individuals have acquired Voter ID cards and Adhar cards, 9 families received APL ration cards (though they stand to be eligible for BPL  ration cards), 20 individuals have opened bank accounts, who have also began saving regularly.

Vicharata Samuday Samarthan Manch - VSSM has also extended financial support to 3 individuals, to help them strengthen their current occupations, consequently they are doing well and  their earnings have increased. 

VSSM’s team member  Kanubhai works tirelessly to change the lot of these families, as he says “ the issues faced by the nomadic communities in Saurashtra are immense, earlier we were a bit apprehensive whether we’ll be able to find solutions to these chronic issues, but things are changing and we are sure change will happen….”

રાજકોટમાં રહેતાં ગાડલિયા પરિવારને vssmની મદદથી પોતાની ઓળખના આધારો મળ્યા...

રાજકોટમાં વિચરતા પરિવારો ખુબ મોટી સંખ્યામાં રહે છે. પણ તેમની સ્થિતિ ખુબ જ કરુણ છે. આ પરિવારોને પણ પોતાની ઓળખના પ્રશ્નો તો ખરા જ. આવામાં એમના મતદારકાર્ડ તો સહેલાઈથી નીકળી ગયા પણ રેશનકાર્ડ માટે ખુબ માથાકૂટ કરવી પડી છેક ગાંધીનગર સુધી લખવું પડ્યું અને કલેકટરે એમાં દરમ્યાનગીરી કરી ત્યારે જતા રેશનકાર્ડ નીકળવાનું શરુ થયું છે. હા સહેલું તો નથી જ પણ હવે અધિકારીઓએ થોડું સાંભળવાનું શરુ કર્યું છે.

રાજકોટના જ ઘંટેશ્વરમાં રહેતાં ગાડલિયા પરિવારો vssmના સંપર્કમાં આવ્યા પછી છેલ્લા એક વર્ષમાં આ પરિવારોમાંથી ૨૮ પુખ્તવયના વ્યક્તિને મતદારકાર્ડ અને આધારકાર્ડ, 

૯ વ્યક્તિને APL રેશનકાર્ડ, (સ્થિતિ પ્રમાણે BPL આપવા જોઈએ પણ એ નથી મળ્યાં) 

૨૦ વ્યક્તિના બેંકમાં ખાતા ખોલાવ્યા જેમાં તેઓ નિયમિત બચત કરે છે.. 

vssm દ્વારા ૩ વ્યક્તિને એમનો વ્યવસાય વધારે સારી રીતે કરી શકે એ માટે લોન આપવામાં આવી અને એમાંથી એ ખુબ સારું કમાય છે. આમ એક પરિવારને સંપૂર્ણપણે બેઠો કરવા vssm ના કાર્યકર કનુભાઈ ખુબ મહેનત કરી રહ્યા છે.. એ કહે છે એમ, ‘ આખા સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં વિચરતી જાતિના પ્રશ્નો ખુબ છે પહેલાં આનું સમાધાન જડશે કે કેમ એ પ્રશ્ન હતો પણ હવે રસ્તો દેખાઈ રહ્યો છે... અને બદલાવ આવશે એવો વિશ્વાસ વધ્યો છે..’

from Diyodar, Paldi, Vatam, Duchakvada villages of Bandaskantha

Nomadic families living in Banaskantha’s  villages of Vatam, Duchakvada, Paldi and Diyodar, belonging to the communities of Bharthari and Nathwadi received Antyoday and BPL ration cards recently.  22 families received Antyoday cards and 26 families received BPL ration cards.  These families lived on begging and these cards will atleast assure Food Security to their families. VSSM’s Naranbhai worked tirelessly to accomplish this challenging task of acquiring Antyoday and BPL cards. 

Equally important was the help and contribution of government officials without whose support this task would have been impossible to realise.  The extremely compassionate District Civil Supplies Officer Ms. Ansuyaben, Mamlatdar Shri. J. K. Dabhi, Additional Officer Shri. A. A. Gohil and Shri. B. A. Gujjar who took charge of Shri. Gohil’s portfolio on his transfer. Viralbhai and Shitalbhai who worked until late night to complete  the necessary paperwork once it was decided the families be allotted these cards.

વિચરતા સમુદાયના ૪૮ પરિવારોને અંત્યોદય અને BPL રેશનકાર્ડ મળ્યાં..

બનાસકાંઠાના દિયોદર, વાતમ, ડુચકવાડા અને પાલડીમાં રહેતાં વિચરતી જાતિનાં ૨૨ પરિવારોને અંત્યોદય અને ૨૬ પરિવારોને BPL રેશનકાર્ડ આપવામાં આવ્યાં. આ પરિવારોમાંના ભરથરી તથા નાથવાદી પરિવારો તો ભિક્ષામાંગીને ગુજારો કરે છે તેમના માટે આ રેશનકાર્ડ આશિર્વાદરૂપ સાબિત થશે. આમ તો BPL કે અંત્યોદય રેશનકાર્ડ મેળવવાનું કામ ખુબ કપરું છે. પણ vssmના સંનિષ્ઠ કાર્યકર નારણની મહેનતથી આ બધુ શક્ય બન્યું. 

આ પરિવારો માટે અપાર લાગણી ધરાવતાં જીલ્લા પુરવઠા અધિકારી શ્રી અનસૂયાબહેન, મામતદાર શ્રી જે.કે. ડાભી, નાયબ પુરવઠા અધિકારી શ્રી એ.એ. ગોહિલ અને એમની બદલી થતાં તેમની જગ્યા પર આવેલાં અધિકારી શ્રી બી.એ. ગજ્જરની મદદ વગર આ બધું થવું અશક્ય હતું. આ પરિવારોને અંત્યોદય રેશનકાર્ડ આપવાનું નક્કી થયું કે જરાય આળસ કર્યા વગર ખુબ ઉત્સાહથી મોડે સુધી બેસીને ક્લાર્ક વિરલભાઈ અને શીતલભાઈએ તત્લ્કાલ રેશનકાર્ડનું કામ પુરુ કરાવ્યું.. vssm અને આ પરિવારો વતી અમે સમગ્ર બનાસકાંઠા વહીવટી તંત્રનો આભાર માનીયે છીએ..કે જેમના કારણે આ બધું શક્ય બન્યું..
