Mittal Patel with Lalvadi and Fulvadi community

Our charming Lalvadi and Fulvadi, whenever they come to meet me there is always this request for a clicking a picture together. “Ben, one picture?” and they all fall arrange themselves around me for a photo.

“What will you all do with these pictures?” I would retort.

“Memories!” they would reply.

But I know that the fact is slightly different.

This community continues to wander for work, when they land up in an unwanted situation or face some kind of harassment they are quick to pull out an album from their Jhola and show off the people they know. The images include ministers, government officials. I know they would also include this image they captured today.

What can be better than a  picture that can bring sense of warmth and security…

I feel lucky to have received abundant love from these communities. 

અમારા લાલવાદી અને ફુલવાદી..

જ્યારે મળવા આવે ત્યારે બેન એક ફોટો કહી હું કશુંયે કહું એ પહેલાં જ ગોઠવાઈ જાય..

હું હંમેશાં પુછુ શું કરશો ફોટોનું તો કહે સંભારણું...

પણ સાચી હકીકત થોડી જુદી...

કામ ધંધા માટે ગામે ગામ વિચરણ તો એ આજેય કરે.. કોઈ હેરાન પરેશાન કરે તો ઝોળીમાંથી આલ્બમ કાઢીને જુઓ કોણ કોણ ઓળખે એ બતાવે..

આમ તો આલ્બમમાં મોટે ભાગે મંત્રી, અધિકારીઓના ફોટો વધુ હોય.. 

એમાં ક્યાંક હવે આનોય ઉમેરો થશે....

ફોટોથીયે કોઈને હૂંફ, સુરક્ષા મળે એનાથી રૃડુ શું?

કુદરતે આ બધાનો ખુબ પ્રેમ આપ્યો...એ રીતે હું નસીબદાર...
