As if the heavy downpour in Gujarat was not enough, the rain Gods decided to drench some parts of Rajasthan as well and these unprecedented rains in Abu and neighboring regions brought with it mud… loads and loads of it. The mud has swept across the villages of Gujarat, filling the homes up to couple of feet.24 Bajaniya and one Bharvad families of Radhanpur’s Saadpura village have found refuge in the village school. The village was under knee deep water that ravaged everything in its path. The homes of these families made of mud and bricks have been swept away. The villagers who have stood with them in these times of crisis are providing food but they are need of some tarpaulins, so that begin the tiring process of rebuilding their homes. They will also need food during such time.
When the team of VSSM reached the village, these families requested for food and tarpaulin. We have provided them with the same, the food packets and tarpaulin is just the beginning, as we stare at their need to build homes and livelihoods that the flood waters took along. We are grateful to all of you who have donated generously to help nomadic families during this natural calamity. However, the number of families impacted in these floods has increased considerably. And we still have to help them with rehabilitation efforts… a long way to go, I would say…
ઘર ઉકેડા જેવા થઈ ગ્યા....
રાધનપુર તાલકાનું સાદપુરાગામ.. 24 બજાણિયા અને 1 ભરવાડ પરિવાર ગામની નિશાળમાં બેઠા છે. ગામ ખુબ સારુ એટલે રોટલા આપે છે. પણ કાચા ગાર- માટી અને ઈંટથી બનાવેલા ઘરોની તો વલે થઈ છે. કાદવથી ઘર ભર્યા પડ્યા છે. ઘરને ઠીક કરવા પડે તેવી દશા છે. અનાજ અને તાડપત્રી મળે તેની રાહ છે.ઢીંચણથી ઉપરના પાણીને વીંધી ગામમાં પહોંચાય. #vssm ના કાર્યકર પહોંચ્યા. આ પરિવારોએ અનાજ અને તાડપત્રીની માંગ કરી. આપીશું...
આમ તો આભ ફાટ્યું છે ને અમે થીગડાં દઈ રહ્યા છીએ... સૌ સ્વજનો જેઓ આમાં સહયોગ કરી રહ્યા છે એમનો આભાર.. પણ મદદ માંગવાવાળાનો આંક વધી રહ્યો છે.. વળી આતો તત્કાલ રાહત થઈ એના પછીનું કામ તો એનાથીયે મોટું છે....
