40 years- 4 decades is pretty long time to make some foreign place our home and yet 15 Bharthari families staying on the roadside of Bhavsor village in Vijapur block of Mehsana are struggling to make it a home in their motherland. These families have been staying here so long that they now have citizenry documents from this village. Once the documents were in place the families made application for residential plots. For the villagers that was it, the panchayat and villagers were absolutely not ready to allow the Bharthari families to settle in the village. There is ample of wasteland in the village for the panchayat to shed out for these families but they chose to refuse on the grounds that the families do not hail from Bhavsor village, so what if they have been staying in the village for 40 years!!!
Ravjibhai, the community leader of the settlement has mede numerous requests to the government, he has walked to the offices of various government departments and requested them to enable the families to live a life of dignity. Somewhere the villagers weren’t able to digest Ravjibhai meeting the authorities and requesting to intervene. They thrashed him up. But the actions have not shaken the grit of Ravjibhai who is determined to go ahead with his campaign to get residential land for the Bharthari families in Bhavsor. He says, ‘what if they kill me, how long can we survive fearing such threats, death is to come anyways be it today or tomorrow. As such there is nothing to lose in this life with is sheer wandering and aversion.' Ravjibhai’s painful account contains both, pain and zeal, the zeal to fight it out and the pain of dejection by the society.
We have decided to present the case before the district collector and have also called for a joint meeting between panchayat, villagers and community members. We are looking forward to a positive response from all these concerned parties…...
આ જિંદગીમાં નવરો રઝડપાટ અને લોકોને ધુત્કાર છે
મહેસાણા જીલ્લાના વિજાપુર તાલુકાના ભાવસોર ગામમાં ૧૫ ભરથરી પરિવારો છેલ્લા ૪૦ વર્ષથી ભાવસોર રોડ પર છાપરા બાંધીને રહે છે . આ પરિવારો પાસે ભાવસોર ગામના મતદારકાર્ડ, રેશનકાર્ડ છે પરંતુ , જયારે તેમણે પ્લોટની માંગણી કરી ત્યારે આખા ગામે તેમનો વિરોધ કર્યો. પંચાયતને સમજાવવાનો ઘણો પ્રયાસ થયો પણ તેમાં આજ દિન સુધી સફળતા મળી નથી . ગામ પાસે પડતર જમીન પણ છે અને ૧૫ પરિવારોના વસવાટથી ગામને કોઈ ફેર પડવાનો નથી પણ ગ્રામપંચાયત કહે છે કે, “ભરથરી પરિવારો મૂળ ભાવસોરના નથી એટલે એમનો હક અમારા ગામ પર ના લાગે.” પછી ભલેને તેઓ ૪૦ વર્ષથી આજ ગામમાં કેમ ના રહેતા હોય !
વસાહતના આગેવાન રવજીભાઈએ સરકારમાં ખૂબ રજૂઆતો કરી. પોતે આ દેશના નાગરિક છે અને સ્વમાનપૂર્ણ જીવવાનો તેમને અધિકાર છે તેવું લગભગ દરેક કચેરીમાં જઈને રવજીભાઈ કહ્યું છે. પરંતુ, તેમની રજૂઆતો ગામના માથાભારે લોકોને પસંદ ના પડી અમણે રવજીભાઈને ખૂબ માર્યા . પરંતુ , રવજીભાઈ અડગ છે. તેઓ કહે છે, “ મરી જઈશું પણ હવે તો અમારો હક અમે મેળવીને જ રહીશું . ક્યાં સુધી ડરના માર્યા ભાગતા ફરીશું અને મૃત્યુ તો આવવાનું જ છે ને , એ આજે આવે તોય શું અને કાલે આવે તોય શું આમે આ જીન્દગીમાં નવરો રઝડપાટ અને લોકોનો ધુત્કાર છે એટલે મરીએ તો પણ ગુમાવવા જેવું કશું નથી . “ રવજીભાઈના કથનમાં સમાજ પ્રત્યેની નિરાશા છે તો સાથે સાથે પોતાના અધિકાર માટે લડી લેવાનો જુસ્સો પણ છે . કલેકટર શ્રી સમક્ષ આ પરિવારોને રહેણાંક અર્થે પ્લોટ ફળવાય તે માટે રવજીભાઈ સાથે રહી રજૂઆત કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું છે સાથે સાથે ગામ લોકો અને પંચાયતના સભ્યો સાથે પણ એક બેઠકનું આયોજન વિચાર્યું છે. સારુ પરિણામ મળશે તેવી આશા પણ છે.
